Earthbound behemoths traversed the lush fields of Hyrule. Humongous earthy beings on the back of gallant steeds—domesticated fire spewing lizards with speeds that rivaled and even surpassed those of Hylain breed stallions. Leading the pack would be none other than Konungr of Hyrule—Goron overseer and the last bastion for Hyrule. Alongside the royal rode five hunters—five of the best warriors the Goron had to offer; men Konungr has seen battle with countless times before being bestowed the position he holds dearly now.
The party approached the gate of Kakariko Village—the gates being guarded by two 9ft Goron clad and armed with some of the best mineral only a true Goron smith can handle and mold. Upon approaching, the two sentries allowed their brothers access, their weapons uncrossing and their steps carrying their massive and armored frames off to the side.
"We've located the beasts din. Only a matter of time before it leaves to hunt again."
Konungr spoke to the others by his side—his voice a tremble from the massive amount of bass behind his words. One by one, each elite leaped off their lizard, the beasts beyond obedient and trotting off back to the stables located deep within the mountains. "Aye, Folk. Until then me and the boys will prepare for the final confrontation." One of the Goron spoke, reassuring their leader the issue would be taken care of. Konungr nodded, both Goron reaching forward, and grabbing one another by the forearm with a firm grip. "I leave this matter in the hands of our best. Stand tall, Folk." Konungr replied, their foreheads colliding in typical Goron fashion. Afterwards, the five hunters departed and left their chieftain alone in the middle of the final bastion of Hyrule.
He looked around, fearful Hyrule citizens doing the best they could given the current predicament. Konungr and the Goron's did the best they could with Kakairko—turning the once poor town into a place of safety and reassurance. Those that couldn't pick up arms did chores; cleaned, prepared meals, and tended to the children. Those that had the steel to pick up steel did so by defending the main gate when rare moments arose. It was a fine system that seemed to be working on the surface, but morale was low in all fronts. The Goron's had their own war to fight within the deepest depths of Death Mountain while the citizens of Hyrule slowly began losing faith and hope. But Konungr kept all fronts held down—like the titans in Goron mythology, he carried the burdens of his people and the good people of this land upon those strong shoulders of his.
"You need rest, Folk. Please. Return to the estate and rest your wary eyes." A soft feminine voice from behind spoke. Konungr peered over his shoulders, hazel hues locked on his kind secretary with items in hand. He nodded, not wanting to argue with the only person that knew himself better than he did himself. "Perhaps that would be wise. I think I'll go do that, Folk. Thank you." She stood beside the giant of a man, soft eyes looking up at the current ruler of her people with an even softer grin. "Though, that should probably wait. It seems we're in the presence of royalty. Look alive, Patriarch Konungr." He cocked a brow, for the quickest of moments, he had no idea what she was going on about. That was until it hit him like a ton of bricks—he sensed the royal blood, and the blood was near; within the immediate vicinity.

The shape of her body rocked in pattern with the large beast underneath her; hips swaying as the horse trotted along the path, kicking up a small amount of dirt and dust as she traveled across the plains of Hyrule. Gentle winds carried her soft pale tresses behind her, pulling them away from her face and revealing her intense aquamarine eyes that were set on the horizon ahead.
Appearing as nothing more than an armored scout, our rider is actually a princess -- born to the late king and sister of former queen zelda. Raised to be royalty, Kura Reign was brought up wearing fine silk clothes, eating prepared meals and partaking of games and parties. Something that changed four years ago, revealing the young monarch who was currently on her way to Kakariko Village.
Accompanying the courageous diplomat was a lone guard. Something that was so bizarre in it's own, but the truth was -- Kura no longer was considered Royal to the people of Hyrule. Much like her sister, pushed away and outcasted -- they were nothing more than a mere myth to some. Yet it was wise to travel together, thus the strapping male guard. His name being... Gunter? At least that is what she thought it was, being unable to remember from the short introductions. His job was merely to keep the lady out of trouble, considering her last meeting almost ended up in her kidnapping.
A majority of their journey was through the thick forest just on the outskirts of Hyrule, being a safer ( yet longer ) path as it was not in accordance with any patrols the kingdom might have set out. Even though the idea of a patrol was ideology at best, Hyrule no longer having any form of decent militia as Castle Town was now governed by mere Guilds. Because of this development, Kakariko Village was on the brink of extinction. It was already known as the poor man's village, and the past four years had not been any kinder to the small Hyrule Village. This was her destination.
In order to restore peace to Hyrule, Kura operates with her sister, in a small guild who's only goal is to put things back to the way they are supposed to and push away any evil that may stand in their way. Today the lady was to visit the town, check on it's standings and possibly seek out future connections to sponsor her sister.
Unlike in Castle Town, Kura didn't have to hide herself, and could actually enjoy what the town had to offer. Not because the Hylians who lived there were nice, but because they didn't know her. Most, did not remember Kura as anything more than Zelda's sister. Her face, features, and frame were all but forgotten memories to any that were not closely associated to her.
So when the sights of the town came into view, Kura smiled and kicked; the back of her heel getting the steed to push faster, and before she even knew it, Kura had came into the vicinity of Kakariko. To her surprise however, there were sentries stationed at the outside gate. Bringing her to a halt they held out their hands, ordering her to stop immediatly and state her business.
Before Kura could protest however, her scowl already plastered across her face, Gunter took helm, bringing his horse up closer, "Our business is our own, but if you must know, my wife and I are headed to Labrynna and only wish to stay here. Is that a problem?" The guard raised his eyebrow, looking both of them over before waving them through. Kura's face turning a beet red in Gunters response.
Stepping from his steed, he immediately moved to Kura's side and assisted her from her own horse, the large man easily being able to move the tiny young lady. Upon setting her down she smiled, "Thank you Ser Gunter." she said in her normal sing song like voice. Suddenly his eyes grew wide and he laughed, "Tis Garrett Milady."
Embarrassed, Kura hid her face, "Oh im so sorry!" "Do not fret lady Kura, was a simple mistake." Moving the horses into the stall, Kura followed, doing her recently taught duties and making sure his hooves were free of rock, and giving him lots of grain and oats to feed on as well. She enjoyed learning the small things like this, it made her actually feel useful to her sisters cause and much more than a pretty face.
Before they were to head further into town however, a platoon of men came through the gate, getting the attention of the princess and her knight. She looked on with curiosity at the large iron clad brigade, her blue orbs gazing over each one and finally resting on one in particular. They were clearly Goron, their large frame and earthy features dictated that. But what were they doing in the Village? Only traders were ever in Kakariko, but garrisoned troops?
Kura stepped forward, approaching the male who stood next to a smaller and more feminine character. "Excuse me, but can you tell me what is going on here?" Her eyes were stern, yet her voice was softer and filled with a bit more curiosity. The bewildered knight quickly following suit in aim to quiet her before she got out of hand.

An ability within the chosen Goron bloodline made it so that whenever an Hylian royal was near, the Goron had the ability to sense their presence—their light giving off an energy only those of royal Hylian blood can give. This ability allowed the Goron in question to maintain a connection with the true rulers of this plane, a gift from the goddess and a testimony of their mutual harmony and kinship. Utilizing this one of a kind skill, Konungr was capable of locating the heiress to the throne and long since been known she was still alive despite those saying she was with us no longer—Konungr and the Goron Elders simply knew wiser than that. And at this moment of time, Konungr followed Kura's light—her light, to him, similar to a burning candle in a dark room; hard to miss. As the female approached with her inquiry, he turned to face her, stoic expression on the rugged visage of the earthbound behemoth.
Oh my how she has grown in these four years. Konungr figured she more than likely didn't recognize him, for they had only exchanged words once or twice briefly in the past. But the connection between their bloodlines made it so that he'd never forget who any of the rightful rulers of this land were. Even in the looming darkness and through all the deception, Konungr's senses would remain true to the royal family and their land. The female beside Konungr had the same ability as he, being an direct descendant of the legendary Goron patriarch Darunia himself, it is safe to say her ability to sense the royal bloodline might even surpass Konungr's. Typically one to give respect to the royal line, Konungr, at least in the public eye would treat Kura as if she just another commoner seeking shelter in the final stronghold of Hyrule. This was a precaution that needed to be had—one can never be too sure on whom it is that may be watching, laying in wait with an eavesdropping ear.
"We; the Goron's of Death Mountain are here offering the good people of our Kingdom shelter from the dangers that loom across this land. We turned this village into a bastion; the final line of defense where people can live without fear of death."
Konungr answered, looming over the girl like the sun does the moon during a solar eclipse. Konungr's assistant stood directly beside her leader, smiling at Kura whereas Konungr may have been coming off a little too forward. But it wasn't his attention, it's just how he was—hopefully having another Goron there would prove this. "I am Konungr of Hyrule. I lead this fort alongside my people. If there's anything you need don't be afraid to ask. May it be food, curatives, information, or a place to lay your weary heads. What we have is yours." He paused for a moment, a somewhat awkward moment of silence. So awkward in fact, even his secretary had to look up at her benevolent ruler in mild confusion. "Strangers." He finally concluded, subtly hinting at something in his own little way.

Bright cerulean eyes on a pale doll-like face were greeted by the rough and stoic expression of a large Goron male as he turned to face the young princess, who not a moment ago had called out to him in curiosity of his situation. Stopping just a few meters shy of the towering hulk, she looked up at him with an honest demeanor even though he stood at least two, maybe three higher than herself.
"Milady please.. mind yourself, you would know what was going on if you paid any mind to your sister."
A firm grasp on her shoulder got the young woman's attention, causing her to turn to face the knight with a questioning look. In truth, Kura really would have the answer to her own question if she had listened to the briefing that Zelda had given her. The Queen, who had already met with the Goron Patriarch, was concerned about his efforts in Kakariko and intended to send her sister to act as a liaison to aid in his endeavors. However, these were minor thoughts to the princess who day dreamed about what they were having for lunch.
Before the knight could continue however, the deep bass filled voice of the Goron had filled the immediate vicinity, and caused Kura's eyes to grow wide. There was a spark of recognition and in that moment she found her face blushing intensely. It had been many years since their meeting, and the exchange was brief as was, so the chances of her remembering were slim to none; if it was not for his title, she would not have had any idea who he was at all.
"K-Konungr! I am sorry, please forgive my rudeness." she sputtered in a quick apology, bowing in slight as she did so. Her company clicking his tongue and turning slight, mumbling as he did so, "You would have known if you weren't so focused on everything else when we discussed this..."
"Shut up Gunther."
"Garrett".
Straightening up with an awkward and embarrassed smile on her face she scratched the back of her head before looking around, searching for any sign of recognition from the Hyrule villagers before continuing. "Would you happen to know of anywhere where we could... umm..." Noticing that Kura was getting tied up, Garrett intervened, knowing that the princess was a awful liar to begin with, "Where we could recuperate from the long journey we have had so far?...Someplace quiet?"
Kura looked up from the knight to Konungr, giving a nod in agreeance to Garrett's request in hopes that the three, or four of them could sit down and discuss certain matters, especially over the concerns that her sister had.

The exchange between the royal and her armored companion did nothing to falter the stoic visage of the earthbound patriarch. Though, the same could not be said about the female that accompanied him this moment—the banter between the two causing her to chuckle; an attempt to mask her laughter with a hand to her lips. Waiting for them to finish, it suddenly dawned upon the royal who she stood before—the towering mass of muscle was someone she seemed to know after all. Konungr simply nodded upon this realization, powerful arms crossing up against an bare and muscular chest. "No need to concern yourself about such unimportant details." The modesty about him showing with those words.
After another moment exhibited from the traveling duo, it seemed they had some matters to speak about—their camouflaged intent not really all that incognito in the grand scheme of things. Konungr looked between the armored fellow and the petite royal, his assistant still giggling over the fact she found all this oh-so humorous. After a moment of considering where they could chat in private, harden hazel hues leveled on a building across the way. Said building an empty space for those seeking a new and safe life within the stronghold. He would have taken them to the war Room, but as many eyes as there were out and about at the given moment, such a suggestion would have been an horrible idea. "I'll show you to your accommodations." Konungr walked forward, feet forever pinned to the ground pressing down upon the moist soil with each stride.
Within the abandoned house, Konungr lead the three of them to the nearest table. "Have a seat." He offered, fingers pointing over towards the vacant chairs befitting for royalty such as Kura. With the three of them being no where near the size of Konungr, they could rest their feet and get comfortable. Whereas he; a giant of epic proportion had no choice but to stand and loom over them at the head of said table. Truthfully, he didn't mind—standing gave him the perfect vantage point of the window which lead to the only entrance this empty house had to offer. So, in anyone approached, he would have known far ahead of time. Though, that was no real concern to him—hidden assassins that work directly under him have been laying in wait ever since the Princess rode her little behind within the Stronghold. Konungr had long since decided nothing ill would befall the royal as long as she was within his presence, precautions upon precautions were already in order.
"Based off your retainers tone, it appears you two are here for a specific reason? It also wasn't too long ago I finally managed to locate and speak with Zelda herself. Once she learned about the state of the land I could see the worry in her eyes; hear the fear in her voice. You're here to check up, no? Offer help where help is needed? I assure you, we Goron have this fort under control. There is very little need to concern yourself with Kakairko's state. Though, the sentiment is noted and much appreciated. Thank you."
He concluded his words with a respectful bow of the head, both himself and the assistant sitting directly beside him.
