The world had changed so much in his time. The peaceful land that was once booming with life had been reduced to mere ruin and destruction, yet people evolved and moved on. They were able to rebuild and grow once more and though it may not have been the wondrous splendor it was before, the advancements they made was still to be praised. Walking through the streets of Hateno allowed the Sheikah captain to marvel at such advancements, but in this case the stern looking man was more so looking down at a little piece of paper, a rather disgruntled look upon his face.
The Shadow Seekers were a group that fought terrible monsters and kept the village safe, but aside from fighting terrible monsters, they still had a life and more so it was Asura’s turn to grab the stuff needed for the base. Food and materials were necessary, though he honestly rather be sleeping or training than walking around shopping.
The streets were rather crowded, bustling about as people went about the day. Though Asura was wearing a rather casual attire that did not stick out, it was more so his dull and naturally stern looking face that seemed rather out of place along with the rather long sword that remained attached to his back. At the very least he knew of a rather reliable shop that he tended to frequent when he needed thing and he was at the very least grateful for their assistance. The moment that he reached his destination, Asura pushed the door open, the steps of his boots upon the wooden ground echoing along with the ringing of a small bell that would ring upon the open of the shop door. “Morning Hallivard, I trust all is well? I managed to snag some Kakariko sake that I'm sure you'll enjoy” Asura said calmly walking in, eyes closed as he let out a sigh. He knew the shop owner quite well, sharing a couple of drinks with the man at times.
The rummage of papers and the chime of bells resounded within the small shop. A strong voice, brought the attention of a pair of blue orbs. Raising from under the counter, a petite red haired young woman rubbed her hands against a white towel. "Well good morning to you too Captain, Pop's ain't here,...unless you're extending that invitation to me?" she smiled before stepping around the corner. [break][break] "Shame on you for encouraging him to drink so early though, you are going to put him in an early grave," she jested, however the truth was still evident in her tone, "Perhaps this evening if you plan on sticking around town for supper," she asked looking him up and down and noticing the small paper in his hands. [break][break] Standing at only four foot eleven, the young woman looked up at the armed man with a friendly glance. Her family and the Seeker Captain had known each other ever since he was anointed the Hateno fort. With time and lots of exchanges, the Hallivard family could say they provided most for the small attachment that protected them. [break][break] "Something I can fetch for you?" she asked while gesturing to the paper, tucking the towel into her cotton apron that was tied around her mostly white dress.
Asura walked in expecting the usual deep voice of the shop owner he was rather familiar with, but what instead welcomed him was not a masculine voice, but a rather friendly feminine voice as well. Asura’s eyes couldn’t help but burst open a bit widened, but he instantly closed them once more, lowering his head as his face, rubbing the back of his neck a bit embarrassed. “whelp...looks like I just got caught” Asura said as he walked in and straightened his posture once more, glancing over at the girl.
“I’ve faced and challenged countless beasts over my life, but I’m not foolish enough to face the great challenge of an angry dad” Asura said. Sure the girl might have been old enough for a drink, but he didn’t want to incur the wrath of her father for getting his daughter drinking early in the day. That being said he did get the girl's message and he couldn’t help but rub the back of his neck nervously. "er...I...said I only got it and said he’d enjoy it? Surely I did not say anything about drinking it anytime” Asura said looking to the side nervously with his rather weak defense. Regardless, stopping by town by night for some drinks didn’t sound half bad so it was something he considered.
Noticing her gesture to the list, Asura glanced down at the small piece of paper and gave a nod. “Ah yes, that’s right, I will be needing a few supplies for the base. Mostly rations, rope, candles, parchment and ink” Asura said reading off the list before his eyes glanced up at Aelin and crossed his arms. “It’s actually lucky that I’ve managed to see you today, I was hoping to see if you had some herbs for healing use” Asura said as he let out a sigh. “Things are getting rather rough out there and it’d be best to have something to help” Asura said.
His facetious behaviour would be met with an unamused glance. Hand on hip as she stared him down as he boldly tried to talk his way out of the hole he continuously dug. In return, the girl just shook her head before walking back towards the counter and the large shelves behind it. From behind the counter she brought up an empty crate. Lifting her head to meet his gaze she smirked.[break][break] "Hoping to see me huh?" she mused, "That compliment will make up for earlier Captain," Aelin smiled and spun on heel back to work. Gathering the few items he spouted off, she would make sure to look at the list provided, placing each necessity carefully in the crate for easy carry. Some would go in a large sack. It wasn't particularly far to the small fort, but it was still a large load for a single person to deal with. [break][break] "You said things are getting tough..." her tone turned a bit soft and low, grim and filled with concern. "Do you have injured men?" she asked, thinking about how she could best help them. Pushing her long red hair behind her ear, the human girl pressed her lips into a fine line, "If so, I would like to see them."
He tried to defend his words, though it was apparent by the rather unamused look on the girl’s face that this did not seem to work in the slightest, and if anything it perhaps made things even worse. He really wasn’t good at social cues and the sorts as he mostly spent his time on the battlefield or the training grounds. Of course, he did understand where she was coming from considering it was the concern for the health of her father, though he didn’t know how he was going to lighten the mood and his attempt seemed to dig a deeper hole.
But then she suddenly was pleased and he fixed things?
It confused him which in turn caused him look a bit dumbfounded as he raised an eyebrow at the suddenly smiling girl. Did having business with her really fix things? It was a mystery, but she seemed pleased and that was good enough which in turn caused the male to smile a tad.
Arms crossed as he leaned against a nearby counter, Asura casually glanced around the shop looking at the wares it held and then glanced over at the girl that was packing and grabbing the things that he requested. “Injured men? Ah...right...nothing of the sort...” Asura said narrowing his eyes as he glanced over to the side. “The beasts have been growing more active lately and their numbers have been growing...” Asura said. He had been doing his best to fight them off of late and while his squad was for the most part uninjured, Asura couldn’t say he hadn’t really been pushing himself. In a way, Asura was rather reckless when it came to his own safety. “Ah, that’s right...could you throw in some bandages to the bill?” Asura said. Thinking on it caused the wounds on his body from the latest battle to throb a bit and the bandages that he shoddily self-applied upon his torso really weren’t helping
