NYSSA
SOME SMALL WITTY SAYING OR QUOTE HERE, NOT TOO LONG
PERSONALITY
Being the Sage of Shadow, Nyssa has the life experience and wisdom of one who has seen what many would consider multiple lifetimes, as well as the smarts of a trained warrior. She acts as advisor for the rightful heir to the Hyrule throne, and as such has a say in many things. She is a protector of the people, and an upholder of the peace,
But she also knows that things weren’t as they were before. The Triforce was shattered, the princess blamed, the Hero locked away. Because of this, she is now reserved, doing what she believes is helping the princess, whether that be assassination or threatening the right people. When she sets her mind on a goal, she pursues it almost instinctively, and doesn’t relent until it is finish, or she is.
However, she isn’t without compassion. She gives what she can to the less fortunate, helping them especially in trying times. Often, she can be found caring for those unfortunate enough to be orphaned, protecting and raising them. She makes very few friends, but those given the honor can count on her to be there whenever they need. She is very protective of those she deems important, putting their needs before her own without a second thought. She has much less time for romance, but casual encounters aren’t out of her book.
As an enemy, Nyssa is known to hold grudges, to a fault. Anybody who wrongs her or someone close to her will meet justice, whether by holding or blade. She tries not to kill in such cases, as it’s too easy of an escape, but will do what she must, at all means necessary. On the other side of the coin, if someone views her as an enemy, she will attempt to rationalize with them, but only once. Any more is a threat to her well-being, and will be stopped with extreme prejudice.

HISTORY
Grooming Sheikah youth for service to the royal family is an honored task in their culture, and one that Nyssa’s parents were happy to undertake when their baby girl was born. She was raised with a sword in hand from the time she could walk, part of a nomadic tribe of her people. Nyssa grew with three values: Survive, Protect, and Serve. Those were all that mattered in life, in the long run, and she lived to those ideals. Life was constantly changing for her, and she saw much of Hyrule, and even some other lands, as the tribe relocated again and again. Her mother taught her in knowledge, as her father did in the martial field. She was fascinated by religion and history, and became proficient in use of shield and buckler, as well as lance. Though not the best fighter in the village, she was rather fast, and worked in tandem with the other youth of her people to hunt game and repel attackers.
Life was good for Nyssa until her father died, falling to the hands of a backstabber from Horuldrum. Nyssa and her mother were torn apart at the loss, resolving to find the “spineless coward” who had killed him. Though they never did, they found themselves separating from their village out of grief, residing instead in a town on the outskirts of Hyrule Castle. There, Nyssa trained, and in doing so, caught the eye of the current Zelda’s advisor, Impa. The older woman took young Nyssa under her wing, with the intent to name her successor of the title of Sage of Shadow.
Her powers awakened a decade into her training, granting her not only longevity, but control of the shadows, though she would not be named Sage until Impa passed on. This was to happen centuries later, long after Zelda’s death, and with Impa’s last breath, she told her student to go to the Temple and pry to the Goddess. She did so, in memory of her mentor, and there was awakened.
Then, she waited until her destined time to come, training other Sheikah. Several reincarnations of Hylia were born in her lifetime, but none needed her to be more than a soldier until that day she was called in. A young Zelda and siblings had just been told their mother had died, and she was asked to help raise the girl, her status among the Sheikah, as well as relevance to the Goddess, known. She accepted, and acted as a mother figure for Zelda, training her both in etiquette and court manners, as well as combat and Sheikah magic. She soon saw the girl not as a task, but as her own, and they grew very close. And only closer so when Zelda’s father died.
Many events took place in this time, and eventually the hero was found. Nyssa was the first to catch on to the hidden romance of the Princess and the hero, though she said nothing, acting in Zelda’s best interest. But this would eventually end up being the start of the hero’s downfall.
She had not expected all to go wrong. King Galadhion announced a forced marriage between his son and Zelda, and threatened to execute the newfound Hero if she did not. However, it was out of her power to do anything to stop it, and she grit her teeth.
The next day brought news of the Princess’ death.
Devastated though she was, she was sure to guard Hyrule as best she could in the days and weeks after. However, things were going downhill fast. Dark power was returning to the world, and war was threatening to break out. Nyssa instead opted to go to her mother, and helped her get somewhere safe, in the time before the great battle.
Imagine her shock as the Princess was proven to be alive on the battlefield. The dark being proclaimed the mysterious Sheikah alongside the Hero as the Princess, and battle broke out. Nyssa was forced to fight for her life, praying to the Golden Goddesses for protection. She lived, but the Hero was not so lucky. He sustained a fatal blow, and almost ironically, the Hero prayed to the Goddesses.
And they answered. But their answer was not what the people of Hyrule had hoped. They banished the dark being, and took back the Triforce, proclaiming the era of the Hero to be at an end. Many watched as the Hero was taken, and was presumed dead, and the Triforce shattered. Nyssa grieved among many others, but it was over.
The ceremony crowning Zelda the Queen of Hyrule was somber, and Nyssa stood among the guards as riots broke out. Her file was among the first to break, as those who doubted Zelda attacked her. Before they knew it, their queen went into hiding.
meaning was lost for Nyssa. This was her life, and now it had no point. She spent weeks at home with her mother to try and figure out her meaning, but finally she got the answer she needed.
Someone had to pay.
She donned Sheikah robes and took up a new calling, hunting those who scorned Zelda and trying to convince them they were wrong. She saw herself as a missionary, spreading the word to the people. That all changed, however, when her throat was almost cut in the dead of night, and she shed blood for the first time since she was a child. She learned the cruelty of people that day, and since, has travelled the land, hunting those she viewed corrupt down. She wishes to find the Princess again someday, and has recently picked up rumors of a Guild called the Heroes of Hyrule. Her sights lie upon it, but she is unaware of the destiny that lies ahead for her.

APPEARANCE
Nyssa is tall compared to Hylians that she mingles among, standing evan at 6' tall. Years of hunting and training have left her a slender, muscular form, fitting for a warrior such as herself. Her olive colored skin and dark hair are offset by piercing green eyes. Her clothes consist of a blue sari with black underclothes underneath, as well as black bracers on her forearms. Knee high boots adorn her feet, open toed. Animal pelts hang from the belt she uses to hold her spear.
She has an alternate set of clothes designed in the style of her people, a black full-body cloak and hood designed to conceal her identity. The trim of it is embroidered with blue lines of Sheikah text.
MAGIC
+ Night Vision: All Sheikah are able to see in the dark if they possess crimson colored eyes; however, they will glow in the darkness, making Sheikah a target for attacks if the others cannot see in the shadows.
+ Lens of Truth: Sheikah have a natural ability to resist illusionary magic of equal or lower rank of their arcane trait.
+ Weak to Light: Sheikah are weak to light attacks due to their natural ability to thrive with shadow based magic. Due to this, they will take extra damage to light magic.
SHADOW'S EMBRACE: By using the power of shadow, Nyssa can conjure clones of herself to attack with her spear, formed from the shade itself. Since she is the awakened Sage of Shadow, this is merely an augment to her inherent powers.
