An Earthbound giant sat in a throne befitting for a royal of the highest stature, or a Warchief with worldwide renown. The chambers in which he sat were massive, the estate located within the center of the soot smelling metropolis known as The Goron City. The highest peak of the estate would be where Konungr of Hyrule was located. However, he wouldn't be alone for this rather important matter. Directly beside him stood his Right Hand and mentor when it came to the art of war; Dharggoa Lionheart—Goron Champion and military general extraordinaire. Above the throne, perched on extremely high stone pillars that also functioned as chairs would be the five Goron Elders—each elder focusing their magical powers on the current ruler of their people.
Silence washed over the chamber like a massive tsunami consuming everything in its watery path. Konungr was lost in one of his trances—a spiritual state that allowed him to communicate with rulers past. With closed eyes of searing coal, the ebon Goron shook his head before slowly opening hot white eyes that reflected anger and annoyance. As usual, they didn't approve of his actions—for a pompous Zora tramp to strut her little behind in a royal place such as this, for a meeting that would result in a famous and powerful figure such as Konungr to ask for her assistance in this matter? Foolish! Simply foolish! Konungr exhaled a sigh, bandaged feet tapping on the earth below. A blue aura surrounded him, the mystic power of the elders giving him the strength needed to see this little meeting through till the end. Truthfully, he wasn't in the best of states—his stone physique on the verge of caving due to over exhaustion. Despite this he kept pushing forward, kept fighting, kept leading. Only those within the room knew of the dire state of the Chieftain. If this meeting was a success, if Konungr could quell the age old discrepancy between himself and his waterborne counterparts. Maybe, just maybe, there was a future for this kingdom in ruin.
"Do you feel their presence? The Zora heiress and one apart of the Royal Hylian bloodline are upon us, Folk. would you go and greet them on my behalf?"
Konungr leveled his still-searing gaze on Dharggoa, a stoic expression which didn't match his kind and polite tone—albeit his tone being deep and raspy. Dharggoa more than likely felt the royal presence, his bloodline being a branched-line dedicated to the well being of the royal Goron bloodline. That being said, he too was connected to the Goddess as long as he remained faithful to the three bearers of all things life. Konungr attempted to stand from his throne, but even with the healing magic from the elders pumping through his veins, his body wouldn't respond even to the simplest of tasks. "Stand tall. For the both of us." Konungr concluded, the party now just arriving to the massive stone doors that separated the mice from men, the unjust from the just, and the weak from the strong.
Through action, a Man becomes a Hero , Through death, a Hero becomes a Legend , Through time, a Legend becomes a Myth , And by learning from the Myth, a Man takes action ,
And through it all, the cycle of greatness repeats .
Standing tall next to the Earthbound giant was a veritable mountain of muscle, who even without arms or armor could intimidate the weak-willed. Dharggoa had his large limbs crossed over his barrel of a chest, watching the even larger doorway that led into the throne room where he, the Iron Chief and the Elders awaited a royal entourage from other nations. Out of his periphery vision, Dhargg could see the stone-still form of his cousin, Konungr, as he sat upon the throne. While infinitely imposing and regal, he knew the man could hardly move even with the power of the five Elders fueling him. If push came to shove, it would be up to Dharggoa to handle the physical deeds, which he would gladly do. Even while pondering his duty, he was aware of the Chief turning to address him, to which he listened with an open ear and a resolute, affirming nod.
"Almost as soon as they arrived." Dhargg responded in his deep and gravelly voice. His face wore a stern mask but his eyes belied the severity of his expression, at least to Konungr. The two shared a bond, so brief gestures or signs were easily understood. "It will be done, Brother." Though not actually brothers, all Gorons were brethren in one form or another.
The towering champion unfolded his trunk-like arms and strode toward the entryway. His maroon mantle swayed with his movements as he crossed the hall. He made no move to fix his clothing as he knew he looked fine. His hair and beard had been groomed prior to arriving for this audience, and his clothing arranged as well. Besides his mantle, Dhargg wore an opened vest that did little to hide his muscled torso, if anything showing it off. Fortunately his leather kilt covered more of his lower body, at least to his knees. Then his tall boots that folded under the knee. He too wore a cloak of authority but not so imposing as the Chief. At the stone doors, Dhargg gestured to the guards to step back while he lifted his large hands and pressed them to either door, gripping the handles, and giving them a great heave to open the way.
Should their guests be standing on the other side, the one called Mountain Lion would bow from the chest while also inclining his head. "Welcome friends." His face had lightened since when he stood by the throne, evident by the wide grin he was giving them. Although now his eyes held a serious tint. He knew. It was only a split second before he calmed himself to be totally welcoming. As he came back up from the bow, the Sage of Fire stepped back and to the side, throwing an arm out to gesture toward the Chief upon the stoned throne. "Do come in." His voice boomed.
Oh how I wish, For soothing rain, All I wish is to dream again
A fruitful trip often led to a fruitful destination. That was something that Cetus’ caretakers would tell her, as they told her stories of old, and it was a philosophy she took to heart. Her company, with Marin in tow, had arrived to the Goron clan halls, great stone mountains turned into home for the folk of the rock. It was very hot, and she found herself lightly sweating, but she persevered on. The small fox she had found along the way was tucked protectively in her arms, docile and satisfied, bandaged foot hanging over her arm. She was in idle conversation with her new-found partner, joy in her eyes at their Goron escorts took them to a pair of great doors, Zora guard following behind her.
With a sigh, she turned to her head guard, handing Pryna to her, and gestured. At her command, the Zora joined the Goron guard, there to protect their princess. She sighed, idly straightening her dress, the white of the trim like foam on a cresting wave. She had taken great care in her night of stay in Kakariko Village to look as good as she could, while still remaining regal. The great sapphire of her people sat upon her breast, and her circlet made of sapphire, coral, and silver rested upon her head. Her trident was held idly in her off hand – not for threat, but as regalia. She stood not a chance here, with no water in sight. The beasts could not come to her aid where she could not be found.
A great shaking signified the doors opening, and she was greeted by a Goron of immense size, pleasure on his face. She bowed lightly to his welcome, but was careful to note the look in his eyes. They meant business.
”I thank you, Master Goron.”
Entering the hall was a thing of wonder, and Cetus took a brief respite to look about, having never seen the clan halls of the Goron before. It was truly majestic, but when her eyes laid on Konungr, she froze, briefly. He was truly as large as they said, and intimidating. But she was there as a friend, there was no concern to her. Her free hand gracefully curved as she dipped into a low curtsy, holding her dress to the side so she was able to do so. Truly, the blue and white of the trim looked as sea foam when it moved. Her trident was propped on the ground, in her left hand, as she rose, standing proud and tall before the Chieftain.
”I, Princess Cetus Kelpia, heir regent of the Zora, thank you as humbly as I must for inviting me to meet with you, Cheiftain Konongr. The grace of Nayru is passed to you. This is truly a day that will be spoken of for generations to come, one of alliance between Zora and Goron. With me I bring my… Consultant, and partner, Marin. I’ll leave her to introduce herself as she sees fit, and then we can proceed, if it pleases you so.”
Marin was half-tempted to conjure up a delicious, chilly treat for her zora companion as she observed the other's frustration. Cetus hadn't complained, but Marin could observe her discomfort in her body language. The tension in her muscles, the way she held herself. She was starting to get a better understanding of how Cetus functioned, a deeper connection you might say. She also had to make her own assumptions about the nature of her discomfort. Aside from the obvious pressure that came with such an important meeting, she did muse quietly to herself that the water dwelling race was likely somewhat sensitive to dehydration compared to hersself. She made a note to save that idea for later as a reward for a job well done, ...or perhaps a consolation prize depending on how things went. She, of course, was looking positively radant for a supposed commoner. She was certainl not middle class, judging by her looks. Upper class, at the least. She wasn't here to flaunt her status, however. The way she saw it, that would only distract from the Zora Goron relations. Besides, she wasn't her big sister. If she tried diplomacy and then failed it would be a humiliation to her entire family. Giving Cetus her best wishes and a very fond smile, Marin allowed herself to become silent, a spectator to her first real taste of the court life.
...That is, until Cetus put her on the spot by allowing her to introduce herself. Wh-What was Cetus doing?! She couldn't be trusted to lie! When had she ever lied, especially in front of a royal court?! One could just see her becoming flustered as she abruptly realized she simply could not do this. There was just no way she was going to trick anyone in this room with a half-baked lie. It would probably be better, in her eyes, to just give that up and be honest. At least she'd maintain her family's dignity.
"My name is Marin, Princess of the late kingdom of Hyrule. I am here of my own accord as her highness' escort to lay witness to this meeting. I apologize for the unexpected visit." Marin explained, meeting the goron kings eyes attentively as she spoke. With any luck, he would not be offended by her attending to business that technically wasn't any of hers.

Konungr, with eyes akin to that a slow burning ember watched as Dharggoa did what the chieftain simply could not—and he loathed it. He orchestrated this little meeting between two clashing factions, he made all the right moves to get the Zora heiress here, and he sacrificed a bit of his pride doing what no other chieftain would ever consider doing. Yet, there he sat—imposing, regal, and ready for the unsuspected, but lacked the physical do-how to greet the honored guest. It was an crippling blow, to say the least—the Elders bestowing the earthen ruler with rejuvenating magic, suggesting he stay put and save what little strength he had left. Another sigh ejected from plump lips, he'd obey the words of The Wise Ones. Truthfully, Konungr was thankful for Dharggoa—thankful to the extent where words and actions could never express such gratitude. Konungr was bestowed a title he was not ready for, but Dharggoa stood by the side of the earthbound giant—hammer in hand willing and ready to strike down the unjust and unworthy. Konungr never asked for much, his pride and fathers strict teachings inscribed in flesh and soul. But having someone there who understood the struggle helped immensely—to inspire with just presence alone, it was truly an amazing thing and something no Goron; no; no single person should ever take for granted.
When the honored guests entered the throne room, their graceful steps carried them across the silken red carpet leading to the kingly throne. Konungr attempted to stand once again, but an Elder seized the action almost instantly—her stern voice that of a mother scolding her child. He awaited for the guests to come closer, his now soft eyes examining them with steady orbs. They seemed to be dressed for the occasion and Konungr matched their chosen apparel. The Earthbound ruler opted to wore a regal jerkin crafted from adult dodongo scale. It was open, exposing a chiseled chest and washboard abs. On the back of the black piece, stitched with Skulltula silk and dyed a powerful red resided the symbol of Goron; a symbol of unity, strength, and brotherhood. While covering his lower half would be an extravagant hakama with markings going all the way down the right leg—makings that symbolized Goron and Hylian alliance. These markings were also stitched with Skulltula silk and dyed with gold and black. Soon, he hopped to add the Zora to the age old regalia.
"I take it my request reached you without any hiccups, your highness? I want to thank you for allowing me this audience. But keep your wit about you, Zora heiress. Our people have had bad blood for many many cycles. My intentions are just, I assure you. But always put the well being of your people first and foremost. Hopefully we can forge an alliance and I will be doing everything in my power to make sure such an alliance sees the light of day."
He greeted with a wave of a covered left arm, a gauntlet clinking and clanking as he did the subtle gesture. Konungr then fixated soft hues of hazel upon Marin, a crocked look but a look that morphed into a faint smile. She probably didn't recognize him—they have only had a brief interaction once in the past, and Konungr wouldn't even classify it as an actual interaction, but he recognized the young royal and couldn't help but notice how much she had grown. "Save your apologies for a matter that deserves such amends. This discussion has more to do with Hyrule than it does the standing between the Goron and Zora. We're all going to need to do our parts for a better future." He paused for a brief moment, his silence one that only a Goron would recognize. This was the moment Dharggoa would introduced himself with. He was a man with a voice, he was required to use it. Prove your worth as Goron Champion and make your people proud.

Dhargg had stood idle, arm held aloft, as the two royalty entered the throne room followed by their retainers. The hulking Goron gestured to the guards to have the doors shut as he turned to watch the two girls make their introductions to the Chief, as well as the Elders on high. Normally booms and loud noises were of no concern to Gorons but they were entertaining small and fragile guests, so the guards were careful in how they closed the large doors. In some ways, the royal entourage would be trapped inside the room as only those were impressive strength could heave the doors but it wasn't going to be like that. Princess Cetus and Princess Marin, it would seem had come. They had only expected the Zora heiress to make an appearance, not the Hylian but Dharggoa showed no surprise at the turn of the event. He always expected the unexpected.
He placed his hands behind his own back, the movement causing his maroon mantle to swing shut across his large torso. With the main introductions out of the way, the Champion was going to make his way back to the side of the Chief's throne, however there was a pause in Konungr's speech. It was interpreted immediately and without missing a beat, the Sage stopped in his tracks, in the midst of walking around the guests, and turned to them. "A pleasure to be graced by not one, but two royalty. An honor as well." Dhargg nodded his affirmation as one big arm slipped out from between his robe to place a hand over his chest. "I am Dharggoa Lionheart, general and champion." He deep voice resounded throughout the chamber as he inclined his head again. It was but a brief gesture before he was standing up straight. He could've introduced himself as a Sage as well but saw no need to.
Said Sage had intended to return to his original position but he decided he would remain along the left side of the hall, muscled arms once more crossing over his big body. His gaze was centered on the guests but his eyes saw all from entryway to Konungr himself. He wore a faint smile but his eyes were relaxed but his body was a tensed spring, ready to release at a moment's notice. As much as he was integral to the chain of command of the Gorons, he didn't need to be addressed directly unlike the Chief did, as a sign of respect. It was Dhargg's duty to listen and watch, and protect the Chief above all else.
Oh how I wish, For soothing rain, All I wish is to dream again
So Marin had chose to introduce herself as Princess of Hyrule. Some part of her had suspected the girl would, but she had left it up to her. It was not her duty to introduce the royal family of Hyrule, she was here utmost for her people. The diplomacy was important, and she held herself proudly, chin raised and back straight. She looked every part the princess she was. Admittedly, she was nervous, but who wouldn’t be, put out of their element so much? She looked forward to a long swim in the rivers around Kakariko Village once this was done, but she pushed the thought from her mind. Business came first.
”Your message came through without any issues, Chieftain, and with haste, at that. I apologize it took me some time to come for this diplomatic meeting, but I had to speak with the Elders of my people, as well as find an escort through Hyrule Field. Regardless, we have considered your proposal, and are willing to come to an agreement. Too long have our people been at odds with each other, and I intend to fix relations my father may have otherwise ruined.”
The introduction of the large Goron who had allowed them in was returned with a graceful curtsy, and a smile from the princess, before she turned back to Konungr. A deep breath was taken, as she calmed her nerves, and looked the large Goron in the eyes. She had to be brave. Her people were relying on her.
”I speak for all Zora when I say that I come into this with the best intent of my people put forward. I ask, kind Cheiftain of the Goron, that regardless of the outcome of this meeting, we remain in good terms with eachother as a race. Regardless or not of alliance, I wish for friendship between our people for generations to come. I see no reason for things to not work, but understand I am simply erring on the side of caution. If this pleases you, I will now listen to your request of me in full.”
...Sweet Hylia's grace she was representing her people. Marin had to physically try and restrain her terror as she found herself up the creek without a paddle. She was not qualified for this! What would Zelda say? A simple venture of good faith had turned into an incredibly important meeting that her sister really ought to be filling. ...Either of her sisters, really! Kura was not Zelda, but she certainly had to be better prepared than herself. Heck, throw in her brother while she was at it. Hey, had anyone seen the royal advisor around lately? Perhaps the royal postman? Surely he'd at least been to court. One could observe the way Marin subtly buckled under the pressure, her body tensing and her eyes falling briefly. It was not like her to break eye contact while addressing someone unless something was wrong. It was a mark of dishonesty, or at least that was the story she'd been told as a lass. In hindsight, she'd come to realize that this was only necessarily true of herself. In this case, the dishonesty was her acceptance of the role of speaker. She did not deserve it, much as she envied the position. Yet, she had no choice. To excuse herself now would be unspeakably rude, recklessly negligent even. She would just have to ask herself what Zelda would do in this situation and hope that her sister would forgive her for speaking in her steed. Quickly reinforcing her composure, she banished her anxiety as deep as she could force it down and returned to giving the other speakers her full attention as they spoke. ...Was that... recognition she had picked up in the king's eyes moments ago? It seemed unlikely, but she usually recognized a knowing look when she saw one. Perhaps she was mistaken, however.
Marin waited patiently for her turn to speak, but it never came. She might not know much of the court life, but she knew that this was probably the worst possible time to interrupt someone theoretically conceivable. Regarding Cetus with encouraging eyes and a strained smile, her gaze returned to Konungr in anticipation of his answer and the request Cetus had mentioned. Her turn to speak would come later, likely after this request was made if it turned out to be a request of both their peoples. She really ought to be planning ahead for what she'd say if that were the case, but Marin was so overwhelmed that she could not diverge any attention away from her composure for such thoughts.

With proper introductions out of the way, Konungr of Hyrule—Goron Patriarch of the land of Hyrule, and established Leader of the Hyrule Court exhaled a subtle sigh, a gust of carbon dioxide blowing from slightly parted lips. His eyes darted from each person before him with a kingly gaze, the five Goron Elders high upon pedestals communicating with the wounded Patriarch with the use of telepathy. He blinked, eyes shut for a little longer than usual before he spoke in regards to the words spoken by the Zora Heiress. "I will not lie to you, Milady. I would have preferred it to be your father before me other than yourself, with all due respect. But I realize such an request would have fallen on deaf ears. Your father is a great man; a feared power across this once beautiful and peacefu land. However, similar to my own father, yours too is stuck in the ways of old; old battle scars have yet to fully heal. Both figuratively and literally." Konungr paused for a moment, raising an arm coated in metal and waving it across his frame slowly. "As it stands. They won't be the ones who suffer from this calamity, we will; our generation and children will surly suffer if something isn't done."
"I wish for a treaty to be in place between our people. I can no longer recall what it is we so willingly threw our people on the battlefield for. It is no longer worth the bloodshed as a more dire situation is upon us; as a country. We need to unify if we have any hopes of changing this foreseeable outcome. So, Zora Heiress. Tell me what it is you want in order for me to have your word regarding this treaty. You aren't your father; the current power in charge. But your influence and voice, I value that a great deal. Even if your father doesn't agree, just knowing I have you on my side gives me enough cause to make the moves I truthfully dread making."

”My father, unfortunately, has taken ill, and in his stead I speak for my kingdom. My advisors have deemed it so, as his condition is less than favorable.”
Her hand had clenched when the Goron Chieftain mentioned her father’s authority in the kingdom, ever so briefly, but no show of it came across her face. One had to train themselves to hide disappointment in the Royal Family, especially if it was of the actions of those above you. But she was here, and her father was not. It was something unavoidable, and she knew her people would back her in her decisions. Blue eyes met Konungr’s own.
”Our conflict was bred of ideals that are long out of date. It is time that the ideals of old be cast aside in favor of a new, brighter world. Conflict of Goron and Zora has benefitted none for generations, and we shall be the first to take the steps needed to prosperity. I need naught from you but your promise of brotherhood with the Zora people, which shall be returned in kind. Once again, we shall fight as a unified Hyrule, instead of a fragmented people.”
She paused to let her words sink in, then took a step forward, a hand pressing to her chest, right over her heart. When she spoke, it was softer.
”I sense dark times falling upon us. Our world lost its hero and favor of the Goddesses, and because of this, people have lost hope. But I have not, and I pray you have not, either. My resources are at your disposal, whether you need mages, healers, warriors, or counsel. All Goron will be welcome in the Domain, if they choose to be there, and if my father complains, I will assuredly stand my ground to him. I’ve set the pieces in place to assure nothing goes wrong. These are my promises.”

The colossal being, still in throne constructed of stone and bone of the nightmarish beasts he has toppled ever since his rise to power simply listened to the words of the aquatic heiress—words cutting deep into an otherwise unpierceable hide of muscle and stone. "Forgive me. I had not even the slightest idea of the events revolving around your father in his health." Words ceased for a moment, thoughts drifting to the passing of his own father—a passing that had to do with crippling illness. Konungr, gaze still leveled on the female Zora continued to leer in his direction—glare softer than a bed of grass one could lay within. She had his sympathy, because, more or less, he knew exactly what it is she was going through in such foreboding times.
Regardless, this was not the time to dwell on such unfortunate events. Konungr averted his gaze for a moment in an attempt to recollect his thoughts and wrap his mind around the words Cetus has recently just spoken. The convection within her voice resonated with Konungr greatly—she had an aura befitting for a kind and benevolent ruler. Typically, Konungr's overbearing presence causes those not accustomed to characters of his type to fold under the pressure of political views, but Cetus held her own and it seemed she'd continue to do so for ever how long she needed too. "You have my word, Zora Heiress. We will unify and overcome this looming darkness over the horizon." The Goron simply stated, voice deeper than any festering hole of darkness the evil blossoms from.
"We lost the Hero due to ignorance and clouded sights. We left our country in the hands of a child who was not ready to carry the weight of destiny. He was crushed by our own vanity and we all paid dearly for it. Though I do solemnly believe all hope is not lost. Our Hero will rise again, and when he does, Hyrule will be ready." Another pause, "which is why you are before me today."
"My spies have located Princess Zelda and the current guild fighting for her well being. I had a conversation with her. My restless heart was put to rest knowing she was okay and still drew breath. I offered her whatever it is she and her order might need, but in the process of doing so. I was hit with some daunting news... She plans on using the two neighboring kingdoms in an effort to reclaim Hyrule." Just speaking that final sentence, the annoyance within his voice was more than apparent. "It is to my understand she believes it impossible for the ruling factions of this land to unify and overcome this crucial test. We fell to the forces of darkness because we couldn't unify. So instead of attempting to fix the wrongdoing, she seeks outside aid without even so much as an attempt to bring us all together."
Konungr paused yet again, his blood now beginning to boil the more he spoke about this subject. Truthfully, this was the first time he ever let his feelings be known about the situation, and, those around him could tell he felt very strongly about it—borderline offended, in all honesty. "I don't think I need to explain to you how disadvantageous it'd be to allow both the neighboring kingdoms within our broken and tattered lands with full armies, correct? If they choose to betray the heiress to this land, he'd be swept before we could even amass enough forces to fight back. But even if we managed, our numbers would be 1:6 at best. Do you understand what I'm getting at? Zelda is so determined to reclaim her land, I honestly don't believe she can see the bigger picture here. Hyrule has everything to lose while the two kingdoms have everything to gain."
"Which is why I have taken this matter into my own hands. The Goron and Zora feud is a struggle almost older than time itself. But if we can come together as one, word will spread and morale will boost. Afterwards, I will go speak to the Greudo King then the Guardian of The Lost Woods. It's about time Hyrule regained footing and fight back against all the injustices across the land. And it all starts here. Today." It was obvious Konungr had put a lot of thought into this plan. But what he had spoken was only a small fraction of the grand scheme. He merely ceased his words so Cetus could fully grasp it all before he bombarded her with more. Truth be told, she held a large role in all this and all he could do is hope she understand fully where he was coming from.

Oh how I wish, For soothing rain, All I wish is to dream again
The giant's words brought a gasp from the princess' lips, a gasp of shock. The princess, she was alive? her composure wavered, but she gathered it up quickly, facing towards the Goron brother.
"If Princess Zelda truly intends to protect her land, she will do it at the side of the proud races of Hyrule, and not of others. Though news of her survival is joyous to me, it is concerning to hear such events have taken place. Thus, I propose that I go, as an envoy for both Zora and Goron, to meet with her, and offer our armies and service as allies. She cannot- Nay, she will not ignore our pleas. We are her people, and it is her sacred duty to protect Hyrule, Triforce or no."
She paused, gathering her thoughts. There was another manner that she felt she had to address, but it had to be put in a way that wouldn't cause skepticism from Konungr. It would seem absurd to the average person, but he was far from average.
"I've one more request of you, Chieftain Konungr. My people are searching for what some may consider a myth, a leviathan that legends claim is the descendant of Nayru herself. Our armies are not at the numbers they used to be, and we are desperate for aid. Though we are a long-lived race, many of our past leaders did not respect the history of their ancestors, and as such, much has been lost to the tides of time. I ask simply if you know anything about the great beasts descended from the Goddesses themselves. If my research is to be trusted, however meager it is, there is a descendant of Din affiliated with the Goron, no?"
