When the two had stepped inside of the boss's chambers, Aryllia narrowed her eyes, the smell of smoke filling her senses. This man must have been a fan of a particularly bitter pipeweed. The man was large, hulking, while staring at a large picture on the wall before speaking. He had exchanged a few words with Asthar, now looking rather annoyed. She rolled her eyes at his words of them being 'scrawny', mumbling under her breath, "At least we're able to run..."
He spoke of Eleazar, and she groaned, hearing his name. That boy was lucky, taking advantage of the leftovers from war, and he spoke of rising to power just as he did. He talked of executing the King of Holodrum, and she blinked for a moment, chuckling under her breath. It'd been a while since she heard about him. She used to be an insufferable fangirl, but, alas, he was a flirt, and way out of her league. It was a shame that she was as grumpy as she was when she finally got the chance to meet him. "Has he even been doing anything?" she frowned. "I haven't heard about the King since the war. After Hyrule fell, he dipped back into his castle and stayed out of the affairs. Then nothing..." it was more her talking to herself than anyone, as the conversation persisted between her comrade and the bandit.
And then suddenly, without much hesitation, Asthar had her brace herself has he rushed in to battle the man. "Holy--" she stopped herself, half expecting him to move in after she did, but he was quick to react. She followed behind him quickly, circling around to his back side so that she could hit him from outside his peripheral vision, but he had moved out of the way rather quickly. "You know, for a big dude, he's not as slow as I expected," she spoke in surprise. Still, she stalked his movements and followed him, wondering if perhaps she should ditch the staff and bring out the bow. But if the two of them faced him from each side, he would get cornered and have no options left. So she persisted, heading in opposite directions Asthar did as to keep him from getting too far.
"Heads up!" she yelled to Asthar as her staff swung high to knock the boss in the head. Just as he had attempted to brace himself, ducking, she took her other hand to jab his pressure points, temporarily causing his muscle to seize in his arm. With that, her staff then swung around his lower back, causing him to fall forward. "You're not quite as tough as you make yourself out to be, are you..?"
Perhaps Asthar was mostly focused on what the boss bandit had to say, but Asthar did hear the words that were uttered by his companion and all he could do was just accept them. He could see why she thought that of him and he wouldn’t really defend himself. The main reason was because he was in disguise, but the second was mostly because he had to agree somewhat. He did whatever he could for his kingdom and the mess his father and forefathers left him was huge, but with all the chaos that was happening in Hyrule he did nothing but remain neutral, or at least try. He couldn’t ignore the plight of his friends and their noble quest, but even then there was something that he wished to do. There was a group, a group he disliked with his entire being. Asthar wanted to crush that group with his own two hands.
With the fight having started, Asthar really didn’t have time to think as he quickly begun to clash blades with the man, moving and dodging about as the man fought. He kept the man’s attention on him while Aryllia moved about trying to attack, but something was odd. His movements were much stronger than the last time they fought albeit more slow yet frantic. Keeping up with the defense Asthar’s eyes widened the moment he heard Aryllia’s voice and quickly jumped away as the man came tumbling down.
“No, I can’t I WILL NOT BE HUMILIATED BY A BUNCH OF BRATS!” The boss yelled out in anger as he laid there in anger. Through sheer will the man reached in his pocket and pulled out a huge pouch and brought it to his mouth.
“…what is he…Shit! stop him!” Asthar said quickly running towards the boss opened his mouth and began to empty the contents of the pouch into his mouth. Tiny shards of gold began to fall into his mouth and the boss swallowed them all. Asthar immediately jumped back as the man began to get up, magic swelling up inside him as his body began to distort and his muscles began to grow and bulge. “EHEHEH I’LL KILL YOU ALL!” the boss yelled out as he looked over at the two and grinned as he opened his mouth and fired a stream of fire from his mouth at Asthar. In an attempt to defend himself Asthar quicky held his cloak and covered his entire body with it. While Asthar’s cloak was made up of the finest materials and provided some protection from the flames, the cloak caught on fire as Asthar was knocked back by the attack and crashed into a wall. He rose to his feet, but his mind was in a bit of a daze, the flames on his cloak still burning and trying to burn through the cloak.

"What is he doing!?" Aryllia called out as the shards had fallen into the bandit's mouth. In a fit of rage, he had suddenly been warped by the power these fragments possessed. Asthar had moved back, and as such, she did the same, watching him carefully as he stood, shrieking with laughter as flames forced themselves toward her companion.
"No!" she howled out, watching as he was then engulfed by the fires. Before she could react, the same flames were hurled into her direction, but she had no time to react, the sheer gust of wind that surrounded them throwing her back against the wall. The flames followed, as she groaned, eyes widened as she crawled to the side as fast as humanly possible - narrowly escaping the blaze.
She huffed out a breath in exhaustion, blood rushing to her head as she looked to Asthar, whose cloak was ignited by the fire. "I... I have to..." she murmured in collapse, shutting her eyes as she then took a deep breath. "Sacred Resolute." Her eyes flashed open, light surrounding her as she slowly stood up, gripping her staff before standing her ground against the boss. "If you want to play with magic, then I will too," she smirked.
She dashed forward, bolting toward the boss as she swung her staff low at a shockingly fast speed, and before he would be able to turn to face her, she was at the other side of him, bracing her arm back as she then pummeled her fist into his face, sending him crashing into the wall with intense capacity. "If you hurt him again, I will kill you." she growled.
Pummeled and unable to move in the slightest against the young girl’s attacks the boss was helpless against the attack and then he was knocked into the wall with immense power. Fallen and driven mad with the power he consumed, the boss remained in the wall, silent after the blow. It had seemed like it was over, that there was no more, but the boss was far from done. He refused to let it end like this, he refused to be out done. He placed all his power into being able to move, it was his final gambit. With a loud roar the boss lunged forward, his muscles had grown to monstrous levels and his body was twitching due to instability, but even then he lunged at Aryllia like a gigantic boulder against a tiny ant.
The boss laughed, he laughed as he charged at the girl, but it all came to a halt and his eye widened in disbelief. A blade of darkness sliced through the air and immediately hit the chest of the boss causing his body to twist and distort even more. Despite the excruciating pain he was feeling the boss merely stared at the culprit who swung the final blow.
“I will say the same thing…if you dare try to harm her again…I will kill you… she is a precious friend after all…” Asthar said panting hard as he used the opposite facing wall as support. Whether or not the girl could have dealt with the behemoth of a man charging at her, he couldn’t just stand back and do nothing. He pushed his body to act and with that he was able to release his Hollow Blade. Golden long hair began to fall downward covering his face and Asthar looked up at both Aryllia and the boss with his crimson eyes. The cloak that had been cast aflame had been discarded to the side and the king of Holodrum had finally revealed himself.
All forms of feeling swelled up in the boss, feelings of sheer anger and rage the moment he saw Asthar’s face. “You…NO! I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS! HOW DARE YOU! YOU BASTARD! ASTHAAAAAAAAR! I’LL GET YOU BACK FOR THIS! FOR THE HUMILIATION I FELT AT YOUR BLADE IN HOLODRUM! FOR THE EYE THAT YOU STOLE FROM ME! I’LL KILL YOU! I’LL…” The boss yelled but then stopped as his body couldn’t handle any more and fell back. Now having fallen down without any energy left all the boss could do was lay there muttering profanities about Asthar. All his e
It was over, their task of beating the boss was at an end and Asthar fell to one knee weary from the blow he took. Despite his fatigue he glanced up at Aryllia and closed his eyes with a soft smile “Its been a while Aryll…” Asthar said finally able to speak to her as Asthar and not the rouge. "Lets…get those alchemists and their families out of here…" Asthar said trying to get up fully, staggering a bit as he did so

He seemed weakened by the attack, sliding from the wall and unable to move. Aryllia sighed in relief, looking to where Asthar had been, but he was gone. Confused, and distracted by him being missing, she hadn't noticed that the boss had now sprung from his position and was throwing himself full force at her. And this time, she wouldn't be able to miss it. She gasped, but the clash of a blade interrupted it, only inches from her body, as Asthar had appeared, the blade within the belly of the beast.
He spoke, threatening the man for hurting her, and her eyes widened as his hair had flowed out from beneath the mantle of his hood. Tossed aside, too badly damaged to continue use of, he stood stately with his blade embedded into the bandit, who started to scream at the realization of his identity. "Wait..." Aryllia whispered, as the boss then fell over incapacitated, and Asthar stumbled to the ground, looking to her with his scarlet eyes.
"...Y-your grace," she stammered, stunned that he was the one who had been alongside her this entire time, "Why--how did you... why did you ask for me of all people?" She saw him struggling to move, and she quickly jumped to his aid, kneeling beside him and helping him up. But his main concern was the prisoners, and she nodded.
They made their way down the hall and she didn't say a word, still aghast to his identity, and unable to come up with a plausible explaination as to why this was going on in the first place. But she moved quickly, finding the alchemists and their families, allowing them to escape freely.
And for the time being, they would be safe.
When the two had finally exited the base, shrouding themselves in the forest, she turned to him, confusion painted over her as she shook her head. "What is this? How did you find me? I haven't seen or heard a word of you since my brother..." she paused for a moment. "Since the coalition fell."
It was reasonable that Aryllia had numerous questions about all that had happened, but the place they were in was not the best time for talking. Asthar wanted to reveal himself after all this was over and at the very least try and give a better explanation, but that went awry. It couldn’t be helped and so long as the mission was a success and they got out unharmed and well then that was all that really mattered. There were no words to that were shared between the two of them and Asthar felt to merely leave her be until he had the chance to explain everything.
The moment they reached back up with the alchemists things were different as they did not look at Asthar with fear, but instead they looked at him joyfully, crying tears of joy that they were saved by their king. Reuniting them with their families they were let out and together he walked with Aryllia out into the forests. The Holodrum knights were waiting for signs of the alchemist so Asthar was not worried about the alchemists as once the alchemist got out they were in the knight’s care. With that over all that was left was for the knights to clean up and deal with the remaining bandits. The rest of the mission was in good hands and with that Aryllia and Asthar’s job was done.
A deep sigh was released as he plopped down and sat on the ground, leaning against a tree as he sat and smiled as he looked at Aryllia before closing his eyes. “I’ve…been keeping an eye on you and your actions…” Asthar said calmly before letting out a sigh “You are right though, with everything that has happened I haven’t done much to help. Holodrum…it’s a mess, has always been one and one that I cannot clean easily. Distrust and corruption…I’ve been trying get rid of it all and I’ve been making progress…but then that charismatic bastard Eleazar…ever since he gained control of Hyrule it just motivated people into following their selfish desires” Asthar said as he rubbed his temples “it has been a pain in the ass is what it has been…” Asthar said
His eyes opened but he looked down with a small soft smile. “…but…I can blame Holodrum all I want, but the decision to remain neutral….belongs to me. In the end this is Zelda’s fight, Zelda’s battle to win…I’ve given her aid and supplies, but…in the end it is all up to her…” Asthar said before looking up at her “You asked me why I chose you, correct?” Asthar said before tilting his head slightly and gave her a warm smile. “There are numerous reasons really. You are one I trust, both in your skill and your character…you are strong and determined and whether you believe it or not…you are a noble person…” Asthar said before getting up onto his feet once more and stood in front of her and looked down at her into her eyes. “You’ve said I’ve stopped keep contact correct? Well how about you? You’ve grown more distant from everybody…You’re my friend and so…my main reason for choosing you is so I can prevent you from being alone…I won’t allow that…” Asthar said closing his eyes with a smile “A pretty girl like you doesn’t deserve that” Asthar said

She stood in silence, listening to what the King had to say. It was true - Holodrum was a mess. One that was a lot bigger for one person to handle on his own. The circumstances taking over Hyrule just created the perfect storm in its own right, and with Asthar's hands tied with keeping his own people in line, there wasn't much he could do to aid the Queen beside lending supplies here and there. Perseus had been more directly involved, because the person overthrowing Hyrule was one of his own; a Labrynnan Zora whom should have not have crossed the borders to begin with. The Zora were always going beyond the permissions of the King, and this could have been avoided in its entirety if he had known more about the situation - or if Galadhion had given a shit when he was still alive.
He said he trusted her, and that he was keeping an eye on her for her safety and potential, and she sighed, looking down. There was nothing noble about her these days. She was trapped in a cage, and only given the illusion of freedom by those who took control. She wanted to believe she had the skill and strength to vanquish these hardships, but she didn't. There were too many, always watching, and keeping an eye on all her endeavors. Even now, she wondered if she was being watched.
Then he asked her of her own loyalties. It was true, she fled the moment that Link was defeated. But that wasn't because she didn't care - it was because she failed everyone. If she had just been able to harness her power correctly, she could have been able to stop Seith in his tracks, and gave Elinkar more time to prepare for the final battle.
"It's not so simple," she said staunchly. "When your one job is to prevent that evil power from escaping, and it still manages to... you start to wonder if you were ever useful to begin with." she closed her eyes, folding her arms over her chest as she took a deep breath. "After watching my brother die and then taken away from the gods, I knew this land was forsaken. There's no use in aiding a cause that has no possibility of taking back what is theirs - not without breaking the natural order of things. I refuse to allow myself to get invested into something that has a small chance of actually succeeding. He's dead. The Sacred Realm has closed. The Triforce is gone, and so is Hyrule."
His last words struck her with surprise though, as her eyes flashed open again, and she looked at him awkwardly. "...I manage to do fine alone. I don't need protection. Sure, the Sheikah defects are using me for their own gain but... they wouldn't just let me die. I won't allow that."
Asthar’s eyes closed calmly as the words that Aryllia spoke were heard by him. She held guilt about what happened during the war and at the same time lost hope for the world as well. It was reasonable for her to believe such a thing as losing a brother was a terrible thing, but Asthar could not accept her words. It wasn’t just about being optimistic nor was it about being pessimistic; it was just something he could not accept. “Ah...is that so?” Asthar said as he glanced down at her calmly.
“Are you calling yourself useless? Is that what you truly wish to see yourself as? Then you don’t need me to tell you that you are allowed to see yourself however you wish…but I will not agree with that notion” Asthar said before crossing his arms. “Tell me, what do you think of those alchemists and their families? From what I told you I merely said that we were collecting treasure and nothing more, but the moment you saw them, you desired to help them…and we did. Because of you we were able to not only get them out safe and sound, but we prevented the culprits to claim any more victims as well.” Asthar said before closing his eyes once more
“Tell me how do you value the lives of those alchemists and their families? Of course if you compare them to the numerous beings that live on these lands a mere 10 people would seem insignificant right? But merely 10 people can change the world…each life has its own story and numerous years of experience. To end a single life is to end that story…that potential…take pride in what you’ve done! You saved those people and they will be able to continue their story…you’ve lost somebody precious to you because of your inexperience? Then don’t merely give up and instead learn from it so it will never happen again…” Asthar said looking up at the blue skies that were covered a bit by the tree branches over them. “Whether the gods intervene or not…I will do what I must…we mortals…we decide our fate even if we have to fight and sacrifice for it…” Asthar said narrowing his eyes before suddenly looking back down at her before closing his eyes and shaking his head with a small chuckle. “heh…though I am babbling on…Im sorry…” Asthar said
Lowering down his hands from his folded stance Asthar looked down at her as he looked down at her eyes once more “Don’t get me wrong I know you are strong and I know you can handle yourself, but being alone is a terrible thing and so long as I’m around I be there for you so you don’t have to feel that loneliness…” Asthar said closing his eyes as he tilted his head slightly and smiled and warm smile “What I want is to see you smile” Asthar said.
