The sound was deafening, akin to that of a heartbeat. It came from all directions around the Royal Family and their allies, reverberating to their bones in those two sounds. Suddenly, as if from a twist in the air, they were interrupted by two masked figures stepping forward. Their expressionless masks watched them all closely, and the curved swords in their hands glowed with unholy power.
"Our Mistress has commanded us that none shall leave the city until her business is done."
Both spoke in unison, stepping forward with each word. As they approached closer, each held a hand up, and opened it. From it spilled shards of gold, shining brightly as they fell to the ground. Where they touched, green flame emerged, spreading into a circle around the party, over stone, wood, and glass alike. Any ideas of an escape route were blocked off.
"Bear witness to the embodiment of power, twisted so might prevails."
"Bear witness to the embodiment of wisdom, twisted to crush opposition."
It became painfully clear that what they had dropped to the ground were fragments of the Triforce. With their words, dark magic burst from them, in waves over the party, blocking sight and making standing itself hard. When they subsided, however, what appeared before them was a sight never seen before. Each acolyte still had humanoid features, but arms and legs were replaces with writing tentacles, and the masks they had worn previously had cracks in them resembling a face. The Triforce fragments were gone, but the dull shine inside the abomination's bodies revealed where they were.
They were using the divine power of the Goddesses as conduits for this.
The Abomination of Power had long blade-like appendages at the ends of some of its tentacles, and some emerging from its back that were dagger-like. Its focus was adamant on the party, and a low laugh came from it.
"False Sheikah and a Gerudo attendant. You will fall before my might, and be taken while our Mistress gives you her judgment."
The Abomination of Wisdom was cloaked in the unholy fire that burned about them, and tentacles with hollow bone-like structures emerged from its back. It raised a hand to the mask's mouth and laughed as well, before looking back.
"But the Royal Family are not the only interlopers here. I see many, but one trapped in the twilight has his eyes on you... But it is no matter. Our Mistress will have her way with you soon enough. All of you."
With their words, they both charged in, the bladed one knocking aside men with his tentacles, while fire danced around the other, engulfing all that it could.

Enemy, familiar friend
my beginning and my end
Things took a turn for the worst. The moment that Perseus had left their sights, Leon had moved to the passageway when two beasts appeared around them, corning them like mice. The fight seemed out of their favor, with Kura incapacitated, and her retainer left to carry her weight. That left Artemis, Karliah, and Leon for the brunt of most of this.
The acolytes circled around the the quintet, sword at the ready as Artemis's fingers interlaced with the hilt. He took a deep breath, looking to Leon and Karliah. "I don't know either of you very well. But I do hope you are seasoned on the battlefield. These beasts will not be taken down so easily."
He turned back to Garrett, who was holding his sister in his arms. "Garrett. Get her as far away from here as possible. I'll try to slow them down." He held his shield up against the flaming acolyte, an attempt to keep it pushed back as he pressed forward to swing his sword at its legs.
"Leon! Gerudo! Take on the others one together!" he commanded. He jumped back with his shield held up in defense against the flames, looking at the mask carved into the Acolytes face. This being was using the power of the Triforce... should he not do the same? He had a piece he kept tucked safe, and yet he found no use for it, seeming to find no interest in magic.
Maybe the only way to truly trump these beings was to use it as well. Otherwise, they were far too powerful. He took a deep breath, wondering just how he would be able to awaken such a power. It may be too late now.
✉ notes: WOOHOO for finally doing something with Karliah!
I'm no Lady.
And all my life I've been knocking men like you into the dust.
When the group had arrived to the boarded up passageway, King Perseus had fled to a much more threatening cause. In the instance that he had vanished from their eyesight, a dark aura surrounded them, as two acolytes had appeared, seemingly warped by the influence of the Triforce Shards that they had dropped from their bodies. Their powers had been manifested with great strength and range, as sharp tentacles protruded from one, and flames engulfed the other.
They seemed to be at a disadvantage now. With Kura weakened and her retainer unable to proceed with her in his arms, they were down two people, which left her and the others to fend off the interlopers alone. Artemis had taken it upon himself to go after the one of flames, using his shield to cover so that he could rush it when the flames had diminished.
"We aren't going to last very long without some magic on our sides..." she barked out, jumping back as the Corrupted Wisdom had crossed her path. Her club wouldn't be enough. The scimitar would do better, however if she wasn't able to keep up her strength, then she would be doomed as well. She had no choice.
She had to use it.
"Stand back..." she turned to Garrett, giving herself enough room while the acolytes were distracted by the others. She took a deep breath, Hands folding into her mask that sat upon her head, and pulled it down over her eyes.
There was shock through her, as she snapped back, groaning in irritation as hues of vermilion surrounded her like with an ambiance. Her head cocked back to the acolytes, and she stared it down, her eyes struck with a bright yellow that peaked through the mask. "You will suffer at the hands of my blade," her voice had warped, an undertone of something demonic possessing it.
She pulled out the scimitar, and in a flash, jumped forward at the beast, slashing at it in every direction with such precision and agility, that it would be forced to move with her like a dance. Two shards of the golden relic, acting against each other, divine power watching over both.

'No please don't leave' [break][break] She began to panic as she listened to Perseus order his men to stay with her. She wanted to speak out against it, but the words were caught in her throat as she struggled internally to stay in control. Garrett continued to hold her close as the flustered prince barked his demands. Garrett tried to merely give what answer he could to the king without giving it away, though he knew it was futile. It was only a matter of minutes before the beast would take over and Kura would submit to the power. He knew holding off the transformation was a painful experience on her mind and body; as he felt her quiver from the strain. Teeth clenched tight he walked with the group, not wishing to linger on the idea of Kura's suffering. It hurt him, emotionally, only making him angrier by the second. 'Why am I so concerned about this.... Why do I feel such anger and hate to those that hurt her... What am I wanting to protect and why... Do I--?' [break][break] He knew it, he knew he cared about her, so deeply in fact that he almost wanted to just whisk her away, using the shadows to escape and leave the remainder behind. But he knew that Kura would be nothing but heartbroken and furious with him to know he left her brother behind. He merely furrowed his brows and continued to trail after them, the groaning in Kura's breath making him walk faster and faster. [break][break] after parading through the city's back alleys, they came past a water canal, and around a back wall, closer to the castle where Leon had said he knew of a passage. Of all the years he served the royal family, he was sure that he would have known of such a place, but as Leon explained its origin, he merely scowled. A royal guard, and advisor at that, had doings with bandits. He didn't judge because he saw himself better however, it was only for concern of the princess that was in his arms. Was this knight a truly trustful person? Only time would tell. [break][break] Suddenly, in front of the group, as they walked together, a shift of wind, and a echoing pound. Kura squirmed in his arms and Garrett circled until his eyes set their gaze on the shadowy enigma's that appeared before them. He knelt low and shielded the frail princess while watching the scene carefully. In his mind, he was debating... choosing his course of action. His heart telling him to flee with her and escape while they could, but his mind told him to stay by Artemis. "Shit..." he mumbled softly to himself. [break][break] "Kura I am sorry... but your safety comes first; I am gett--," before he could shift them into the shadows however, a ring of glowing fire encircled them and blocked off any path of escape. They were caged rats in here. His hateful eyes shifted from the two deviants to the knight who led them down here in the first place. He staggered to stand with Kura in his arms, and he slowly stepped forward towards Leon. "YOU! You led us here! This was a trap--" once again his words were cut off as Artemis yelled at him to get Kura out. [break][break] "I WOULD IF I COULD!" he responded, looking around as the prince and Gerudo woman battled the two fiends. He was frantic, and panicking as he saw no option. He knew that his power was not enough to break the circle, much less escape from the divine power. 'Who are these beings... and who do they serve?' [break][break] Just then, small fingers reached up to graze his face and the last color of Kura's eyes were replaced by a glowing silver hue. He gasped as she pushed away from his arms and a plethora of dark purple shadows erupted from her body. The cloak fell to the ground as she stood there, facing the dark inclined beings. Her face was calm, eyes fixed ahead; skin covered by silvery white hair that resembled the texture of a wolf. From her temples were tall canine like ears, and over her face was a wooden mask. The symbol on its brow was one from ancient times, before the Twili even began to reside in the dark realm. [break][break] "... Keep them busy," she said calmly, a large and very dark shadow growing from behind her and curling over her shoulder. It took on the face of a wolf, and bore a symbol quite similar to the one on her mask. She turned from the beings and instead faced the glowing circle that barred their exit. Perseus's men, ones that were merely tossed to the wayside against these opponents immediately grew concerned for the princess and what she had become. "MY LADY!" once had shouted but Garrett immediately rushed to him and pressed his hand to the man's mouth. "Do not gain her attention. The princess will be fine, but if you break her concentration, that beast could kill us all." Eyes closed as he looked away from the divine wolf she had become, the twili magic that he was familiar with echoing behind him as he faced the threat in front of him. "We will hold them here my princess..." he said as he pulled out the two short swords on his hips. [break][break] Behind him, Witherfang, the embodiment of the divine beast that took over Kura's body, raised her right hand. Palm facing the ground, a purple light illuminated her hand as a spherical pressure built. However it was not the light in her hand that acted as a projectile, it was the large sentient being that hung around her. Prominent, a harnessed being of pure Twilight that followed her command, and as such he began to rear back, lurching forward to strike at the fire. [break][break] The dark purple being clashed against the power of the triforce, smashing and falling back as he struck and struck again. Though one could not see it, Kura concentrated her energy on empowering this creature, feeling it slowly drain her with each failed attempt. She felt it would not be enough to break the barrier set by the divine power of the Goddesses... but she would surely try to contest it.
[attr="class","notes"]
notes Any Info on Witherfang can be found in Kura's App.[break][break]
As he would lead the group down the passageway they were suddenly stopped by two masked figures who spoke in unison as they moved closer to the group then casting an burning green flame that surrounded the group making escape impossible. With that two figures powered themselves up as they had transformed into two divine beasts. Fear overcame Leon as he moved toward his sword with his right hand but could barely move as he was in a shock of sorts that prevented his movement. He could feel the murderous intent from these monster like figures almost to the point of not being able to breathe.
Sir Garrett had blamed him for this unfortunate turn of events and could Leon blame him? Leon made himself look like a criminal by showing an old passageway he had found as a child by accident. He had led them down to this passageway thinking it would be the best option but all of a sudden these two acolytes had ambushed them and used shards of the Triforce to transform into these divine beasts. But that would not be the end of the surprises today, the gerudo had put the mask over her face to seemingly power up as well. But Leon would be more worried about Lady Kura as she too transformed into a divine beast of sorts.
Stricken speechless by this turn of events Leon regained his composure as he interlaced his fingers onto the hilt of his sword and reached around to his back for his shield when Sir Artimis had ordered both himself and the gerudo to take on the bladed beast. A simple nod by Leon was shown as he drew his sword and readied his shield in front of him. "I...I...I had no idea." Leon struggled to get the words out as he tried to defend himself from both the attacks of the beasts and from Sir Garrett's claims.
Leon struck the bladed beast with much force doing not much damage surprisingly. It had seemed these beasts were much more powerful than the lesser beasts he had fought during knight training. "I have no choice then." Leon said as he held his sword upward and the Azure Edge had started to shine with a radiant light that had made the figures back off a bit. The light that shone over the blade was a powerful Holy enchantment that through use of a triforce shard had given the blade the power to fight off evil. Though this would raise the stakes against the Acolytes it would not completely shift the battle. This light was holy but not nearly as powerful as the blade of evils bane's force and power towards evil and darkness, either way it turned the tide in their favor even if it was just a little bit.
Leon charged in toward the bladed beast with this power of his as he struck one of the tendrils of the beast doing more damage than he had previously but not enough to cut it off, but a noticeable burn mark on the figures' tentacle had shown itself after the strike. Leon stood in front of Sir Garrett back to him as he defended the man with his shield from the bladed tendrils of the beast he was fighting. "This is going to be tough Sir Garrett. I suggest we find a weakness of some sort before this situation gets out of control." Leon had said as he kept defending the man and waited for a response. "As a former royal knight I cannot allow these beasts to take over and ruin all our hard work to keep the peace. So if you still harbor hatred toward me then do so after we survive this." Leon had said in a rather serious tone of voice as he struck another tendril of the bladed beast burning it slightly after the strike and doing some damage.
And with the ferocity of beasts, two of the party charged the monstrosities, attacking with all the fury in their hearts. The Power abomination let out a howl at the loss of its two limbs, bright magic searing through it as Leon smote it down with his blade. The Wisdom abomination was subject to a flurry of strikes from the Gerudo girl's scimitar, blood flying as small bits of tentacle went flying. When the attacks subsided, there was a brief silence, amidst the fire crackling.
It was broken by two low laughs.
Each abomination stood tall, their masks focused on their assailants, and they laughed in their face, loud, diabolical, with just a touch of mania. The injured limbs retreated inward, out of reach, but the beasts did not fall. In fact, they seemed more motivated.
---
The Power embodiment suddenly moved forward, taking the few steps to Leon in one stride. Multiple appendages whipped forward, grabbing him by both arms and one leg. A clawed hand shot forward, grabbing the top of his chestplate, as the beast pulled him close, nose almost brushing against its mask.
"The power of Hylia. You are brave to turn it against me, boy, that smarts. In other circumstances, you would be deemed worthy to our cause. But you are of no royal blood. You're useless to me."
The sudden shift of momentum was Leon's first sign that he was being moved, and with a twirl, and a cry, the beast flung him further down the alleyway. Slow steps brought it closer to him, blades ready in case anybody retaliated.
At the end of one bladed appendage, a Triforce Shard glowed, embedded in its body. The power of the shard was being drawn forth.
"I took this shard from a Goron warrior. You could say he wasn't too... Hot at fighting."
With a chuckle, the ground below the abomination's feet glowed, and suddenly, waves of heat poured off. The area around it glowed cherry white, before the stone melted, lava surrounding the beast. It stepped into the viscous liquid, but nothing on it burned. Where it went, the lava continued to form, ensuring it would be difficult to get near it.
As it stepped out below a house with a balcony, it stopped, then bladed limbs shot out, aiming for the Hand of the Queen.
---
On the other side of the group, the fire twisted and shifted, moving in blazing lines, threatening to burn the legs of anybody who didn’t get out of their way. The Wisdom abomination just stood, watching, its arms crossed, until one of the prey got through and landed an attack with an enraged cry. With a hiss of pain, the abomination stumbled back, out of reach of the Gerudo, but it had no time to rest, as a beast of Twilight suddenly appeared, enacting a ferocious onslaught upon it. But the beast didn’t make as much progress as its controller wanted, and with a cry, the abomination burst back in a torrent of fire, and a cry of primal fury. When the flames died down, they saw it, shoulders heaving, but it laughed, low and mocking.
“If that’s the best you have, then you’re hardly worth the hunt. But no more lazing about. Orders are orders.”
Two of the tendrils with the strange bony structures at the end raised from its body, pointed at the party. Its focus swiftly turned to Artemis, and faster than a blink, his armor was struck with a projectile of some force. It dinged as it deflected off his armor, but he could feel small dents against his body where the armor had slightly caved. A snicker came from the beast.
“Merely an example. Now… We begin.”
With raised hands, and a golden glow in the left hand, more similar tendrils raised up to join their others. However, the difference was that these dripped with a viscous substance. Several faced away for the party for some reason, but they all fired at once, most burying in the ground at the party’s feet, but some in the wall over the passageway.
Suddenly, there was conflagration, as the substance ignited in the fires, and explosions knocked the party back. With that, the abomination lunged in, grabbing Karliah before she even hit the ground with tentacles, mask pressed close to hers. There was no laughter this time, only words of rage.
“I’m saving you for last, mask-user. Let’s see who Our Lady favors more.”
With that, she was cast aside, as the beast went for Artemis.

Enemy, familiar friend
my beginning and my end
Things began to fall out of place, losing control as the lot of them had attempted to face the beasts, and yet, no one knew just how to take them on optimally. Of course, Artemis was the weakest of them, and he knew this. He possessed no magical ability - one of the key parts of his feeling of inferiority to his royal heritage. And while, sure, he was an excellent swordsman, his weapons seemed not to keep up with the skill.
In a flash, Leon had pressed forward to the tendril beast, managing to take a tentacle or two from its body with a blessed blade. At the very least, one of them seemed to be weakening. And although he pressed forward with valor and strength, the embodiment refused to back down, and in a panic, Karliah had used a mask to increase her power.
Still, Artemis was alone against the blazing acolyte, and his nerves took over, adrenaline pumping as he attempted to hold his ground, but he was shot back by the beast, slamming down against stone, as he looked to his dented armor in awe. There was no way he was going to be able to take on this being alone.
Struggling to get up right away, he knew that he would have to continue to keep this beast distracted from the others while the took down the other acolyte. Getting up slowly, he looked over his options to find a weakness. But before he could make another move, he heard Garrett scream in worry.
Turning back, he saw his sister, now encompassed by a mauve brilliance. Her hair was painted over silver, eyes like fire as they stalked the acolyte of power. She lunged at it, attempting to subdue it, and it seemed as though the two were battling for dominance.
What was happening to his sister?
He wasn't sure if he should help. Garrett had warned not to get in the way of her concentration, but she surely could not do this on her own. He had to do something.
"Damn it... there must be something more!" he murmured under his breath, his fist clenched against the grip of his shield. Again he had to press forward. Why couldn't he be gifted like the rest? Why couldn't he show for his bloodline? Hylia, please believe in my strength.
He pressed forward again, taking the other side of the acolyte as not to get in Kura's way. He was stunned by her transformation, but now was not the time to freeze and ask questions. This was life or death.
He swung his sword forward, toward its backside, his shield pressed to his body to protect from the flames, until lava had plundered under their feet. He jumped back, taking a breath as he tried to find a way around it. It trailed the beast, and now he wasn't sure how to proceed.
The fury etched onto Sappho’s face almost burnt through the night air, as she swept through the empty streets of Castle Town, her trophy of a spear in hand. Empty, that is, except for the bodies of various masked figures that lay broken on the cobbled stones, each of their necks showing a common band of red. All else that was left in her stride was a blood soaked pavement and a faint trail of gold, fading away into the black night like the lives of the acolytes who dared oppose her.
Her attention was, however, distracted as she detected a burst of magic from in front of her. Her mouth twisted into a grimace as she realised the source of it all, making her change direction and start towards the source of it. Nearing the source, she spied another of the acolytes like those she had dealt with many times before from the walkway she was on. However, there was something very different than the others were, something sinister and horrific. The mask that they wore to hid their faces was cracked in certain places, though no facial features could be seen through it. The figure’s body no longer could be called that of a human, so twisted it had become. Long dagger-like tentacles protruded from its body, sticking out at all different angles that all bent down towards a single target. But it wasn't its victim who she was looking towards, nor the abomination itself, but a particular aspect of its body.
‘That glow about you… I have no doubt that it is a sign of that wretched relic from long ago. Of the Triforce those despicable Goddesses left here. How far have you fallen that you must stoop so low and use an item your mistress hates so?’
Having said this, Sappho’s slender hand shone with a radiant glow as she traced a finger along the bladed tip of the spear, imbuing the spear with a golden light. ‘May the light from this blade prove my aim to be true.’ As she said this, she readied her body and levelled the spear towards the abomination. A moment later, she let it loose, along with a brief warning. ‘Young man, I advise you to move back!’ As soon as she had said that, the spear tip cut through the air, severing a few of the many tentacles that writhed about the abomination.
✉ notes: WOOHOO for finally doing something with Karliah!
I'm no Lady.
And all my life I've been knocking men like you into the dust.
The brunt of the battle became a blur, with the mask heightening senses and causing all surroundings to become irrelevant. Her focus was the acolyte, and the safety of the Royal Family. Although, in the moments following her attack on the beast, Kura herself seemed to become overcome with the sickness of the divine wolf. She turned back, froze for a moment, realizing that she too could become problematic if she were to lose control and attack the others.
A blast had followed, and Karliah was thrown back, but before she could hit the ground, tentacles surrounded her, bracing her from the stone as it crawled to her like a contorted body, bones moving in ways they shouldn't, and a laugh emitted from behind the wooden front. It spoke to her, a flicker of curiosity sparking interest as it spoke of their lady. Who? What could that have meant?
But it had snapped into place a moment later - the goddess of masks, the gerudo people, and darkness alike - Majora must have been behind the making of the acolytes... how though? How would she have escaped from the sacred realm? There was no time to dwell the wonders of how for now - they had to stop these things from killing the family. The lines it spoke echoed within her though, and she couldn't help but smirk, her lips trying to stay clasped tightly together so she were not to make a scene.
But she snapped.
In the silence of the struggles between the royal party and the interlopers, Karliah let out a ferocious laugh, tears welling in her eyes as she couldn't control it. She almost rolled over from her own excitement in the tentacles of the beast, trying to cover her mouth from her hilarity as she shook her head, rolling her eyes behind the beak of her own mask.
The mirth was corrupted, her voice doubled over, deepened and coarse with power. It began to settle, but as it became quiet once more, she could not hold back the snickers as she began to speak. "What a fool, hehe," she giggled. "You think I believe in gods and glory? What has that wretched woman ever done for her forsaken people? Nothing. So while you have her power on your side, I have a god of my own."
She twisted around, allowing the tentacles to tangle around her body, the scarlet aura still surrounding her dark skin like frost to the morning grass. She grunted, pushing her arms outward as the tentacles began to stretch and crack - the only option for the acolyte being to release or allow more to break off.
Breaking free from the beast, she stood up with a threatening gaze. "There is only one true god, and his name is Death. And I will let him flow through me to give him what he wants. The Royal family is not on his list today."

ARE YOU AFRAID? come and let me show you why you should be
[attr="class","posty"]
[attr="class","posttext"] [music]http://k003.kiwi6.com/hotlink/c7wwxte9zj/FFXIV_OST_Stormblood_Final_Boss_2nd_Phase_STORY_SPOILERS_.mp3[/music] [break] A fear inducing battle was being played out behind her, the embodiments of the triforce -- both good and evil, clashed in their attempts to subdue one another. Whenever one let out more power in an act to bring down the other, there was a retaliation of equaling strength, so it seemed that this fight would be a test of willpower and heart. However, all of this, was in the back of Kura's mind, as she faced the unsurpassable wall in front of her. [breaK][break] Not the wall of fire that thwarted her attempts to break it -- but rather a wall made of her own psyche; one that determined her control over the Divine energy that consumed her at the moment. If she would give in, the beast would have all the power it needed to surpass the embodiment that imprisoned them all here, however she would lose herself in the vast darkness of it's mind -- and who knew for how long. [break][break] She stood there, shoulders squared as she faced her enemy, the dark purple shadow regaining its incorporeal form as it encircled her. A being that she had come to call Prominent -- this enigma is a manifestation of her willpower, a guardian created to overcome what obstacle she may face at the time. It's power and ferocity all depended on her as a wielder, and it was not that being which grew closer to gaining control, but rather the dark magic of the Twili. Should she succumb to it, the chaotic power would be unleashed upon everyone in the vicinity, and likely she would be pulled into the parallel dimension in which the Twili ruled. [break][break] However, it seemed that it's power began to fade, as the powerful retaliation delivered by the monster pushed the sentient guardian to pull back and surround Witherfang. It's color diminished and it almost appeared like it needed to regain it's form, as if the power of the fire had strained her power to control it. [break][break] [break][break] Garrett's swift pull of his blade was brought down upon a aiming tendril, its target being the young blonde knight, however he may have stopped one, but another swiftly lurched at Leon and grabbed him. Garrett clicked his tongue as he tried to reach forward to save him, but was thwarted by how fast the beast was. Garrett regained his footing and raised his blade to the beast, but he was met by a planned block, it's own blade work similar to royal swordplay. He was incapable of helping Leon, and was pushed back just before the ground glowed a bright white in color. Suddenly as if they were standing atop a volcano -- lava poured from the ground up, and inched closer to the group, blocking off any attempt to get closer to the beast. [break][break] A split second. [break][break] Only a moment for him to stand before he was pushed by an unwavering force. Explosions caught him off guard and he stumbled slightly before raising his eyes to see Kura flying back. Her snow white complexion glowed in the arcane light of the fire, but was soon enveloped by the color of shadow as she used her remaining power to soften her impact. Standing, she wiped the crimson color of blood from her lip, streaking it across her cheek before facing down the embodiment of Wisdom. Seeing it's target as Artemis, her brows furrowed and anger consumed her. [break][break] 'I will not stand idly by and watch my family fight alone'. [break][break] Words she once told her brother, years ago as they faced their demise. Together they put down their crowns as they rallied behind their sister. But until now, Kura never felt like she was strong like Zelda, or skilled like her brother -- until now she didn't possess the courage to face down the darkness that threatened to consume her. The taunting voice in her head soon became clear. The words of doubt that it spewed all united in harmony as she faced them. [break][break] 'Yes. I am a coward -- a fragile girl that yearns to walk a path that they fear. Envious of my sister, I too want the power and will to stand against the dark.' [break][break] 'Embrace it'[break][break] The first step in overcoming fear is to accept it, and that is what she did. Letting her consciousness fall deep into the ocean of arcane presence that resided within her mind. Witherfang emerged from the explosion, her eyes glowing a blinding luminous color as she lunged forward, standing in between the embodiment and Artemis. To anyone onlooking, it was obvious that the divine beast was no longer Kura. She bared her fangs and with quick and animalistic movements, swiped continuously at the masked acolyte. Aura of Twilight engulfed her clawed hands as she lunged with each step. Sweeping under any lurching tendril she aimed to close in and face off against the power of wisdom. Though one couldn't tell, her desire to kill the monstrosity was purely instinctual, and nothing else in her head told her to attack it. At this point, she didn't even recognize the fallen knight to her back, or the individual she moved in to protect. [break][break] Everyone would see Kura leading the rampage, except for Garrett, who saw the arcane signature of Dark Twilight surround her. His eyes welled up and his fist smacked flesh against the ground he pushed himself up from. Hopelessness filled his chest as he turned to face his invincible enemy. "How can we win?"

Leon became irritated with these beasts as they seemingly had not taken much damage from his attack but as he eyes were directed to the bladed beast it had suddenly vanished from his sight then almost immediately he saw the thing in front of him almost too close for comfort but to make matters worse the beast grabbed both of his arms and one of his legs with its tendrils holding him closer to the beast. "I don't care what you think monster!" Leon had said as he tried using his free leg to kick the beast in vain before being flung across the alleyway and away from the battle. Leon cried in agony as he was flung into a wall as his armor cracked from the impact. Leon got up slowly as blood started to drip from the top of his head and down his face as he had not worn a helmet that day and was regretting it ever since he was thrown into that wall. Leon's eyes were full of fury now as he gritted his teeth and pulled himself up he gripped his blade then used it to push himself up to his feet only to be blown back by a sudden explosion caused by the beasts. "I will never give up no matter how many times you throw me back!"
Leon had said as he got himself up again and with a mighty yell had begun to charge again with his Azure Edge fully coated in the holy aura only to stop short where lava had begun to surface. But this would not stop him he was to protect Zelda at all costs and he had an idea as he then took his sword, the Azure Edge, and thrust it into his own abdomen. A feat that most would call insane or suicidal but his plan had worked despite some internal bleeding of course. The Holy Aura had surrounded his entire body from the sword thrust inside him as he gritted his teeth more and blood had started dripping from his mouth and gut. "I vowed to protect the royal family... Even if it would cost my own life!" Leon declared as the aura dispersed the flames around his body and had walked closer to the beasts as they seemed shocked at this scene as he drew closer. The lava had no effect from each step Leon took onto the lava as Leon was slowly dying from this attack he had put on himself. Leon then launched his fist into the gut of the bladed beast coated with the holy aura he had placed on himself. "You see...... I...I will never give up." Leon had said as he delivered a kick into the bladed beast coated still with that holy aura. Leon was in tremendous pain but had used his new attack to fend off these beasts, but he could not do it for long and would need to be treated soon. Leon hoped this new attack was not in vain as he continued his assault on the beasts. Suddenly the aura spiked and his wounds started to heal from the inside as if Hylia was watching over him but this did not make the attack any stronger no it was simply using the holy aura to heal his wounds but not enough to completely stop the bleeding but just enough to keep him alive.
Across the rooftops, soft feet fell upon the tiles. Silent and fast, they moved with purpose and discipline, choosing each step with instinctual precision, every flip, every move was calculated to get the living shadow closer to his goal. Closer to his charge. A skirmish had turned into a fight for survival, he’d felt it. You didn’t live as long as himself and not develop a sixth sense for these types of things.
A long leap took him to the small canal where he bore witness to a battle most fierce. The Sheikah’s eyes squinting with concern as he saw his charge, the small Kura, be engulfed in magic he had not seen in an age. He had always known she was special in her own way, how this had slipped by he was unsure but that’s what happened when you became a shadow. You watched, you observed and acted only when needed. Not like Garret, the young man having formed a bond far more personal than Malikeith was comfortable with. They were guardians, not friends . He would have words should this impede their sworn duty.
But the matter at hand demanded a more clinical approach. The Party was divided, the Royal advisor, a young man with a true heart if there ever was one was facing down an abomination fit only for the ghost stories and nightmares to keep young children in their beds. With him stood Garret fighting off the swishing tendrils of malice but it soon became more, a woman with a powerfully bright weapon entering the fray. His attention soon turned to the streaks of fire currently assaulting the royal family as well as a female warrior he’d yet to place. And in the middle of it all, a powerful beast that was once Kura. He held his resolve but could not prevent a gasp.
He stood tall, unleashing a swift arrow aimed at the creature currently terrorising Artimis, Kura and the Gerudo woman. He doubted it would do much at all, but any special arrows had been left back at camp. He was also facing a being of magic, an area he had yet to become very fond of. He refrained from calling out, sticking to the silence that his business demanded. He set three more arrows and let them loose once again just as he’d landed on the street. Soon he’d need to switch to his knife and that wasn’t going to be much use against a being with triforce enhanced power. No, ranged attacks to get its attention was best. He made a run for it, the ally in which this confrontation took place now alight with perils.
The Red glow of rupees glimmered in the moonlight as deft hands stuffed them into a leather pouch. Kallien looked up the statue of Nayru with a confident smirk. "So sorry your highness, consider it payment for Services Rendered" he looked down as the statue looked into him, through him. his usual pangs of guilt had become tiny pings. his conscience had been deadened with the heavy scar tissue of countless sins. Nearly as deadened as his soul. He felt very little shame in anything at this point, even stealing from the church of the goddesses. The very lands he was sword to protect, he was now pillaging from without a second thought.
"funny how times change" he thought to himself as his ears perked up. He could hear the sounds of the battle raging outside. up until this point he hadn't found himself all that interested in the skirmish. although things had taken a fairly odd turn of events. A Princess was in trouble, that wasn't anything new. A Gerudo with a mask was defending her, A young blonde boy was locked in a death battle, A twili was lurking about, and a strange looking man was running across the rooftops. He'd seen enough to know that this was much to public an occurrence for him. He didn't like it, not at all. He looked back to the statue of Nayru, beautiful and true, wondering how a man like him had fallen so far, he had once been a stalwart defender of his kingdom, and now he was stealing from them like a common theif. He exhaled with a sigh. "I have to help them..." He crept up the stairs and to the paned glass window on the second level. A thick layer of dust hung in the air. cold but also stifling. he narrowed his eyes as he approached the window. tilting his head to the side in confusion as he saw a white wolf battling the masked acolytes "I could have sworn there was a girl just there..." he swallowed nervously.
all this shape shifting was making him more than a bit uncomfortable. He had never considered himself a powerful magic user. only studying it in his spare time. He opened the window and stepped outside, onto the windowsill, he brought his other foot over and leaned upward as he found a foothold in the wall. giving him just enough purchase to climb up against it. he reached up with his hands to find another area to grip, and as he found it he steadily climbed up the wall, keeping sure to mask himself behind the chimney as he did so. he turned to his left, pressing himself against the brick as he searched for cover. With a deft roll forward he positioned himself behind a weathervein. he looked down at the battle below as his sword let off a pale glow in the moonlight as the triforce shard embedded within it sensed the others nearby. He watched as the young blonde boy defended the princess valiantly with his life, as he once did. Filling him with some small sense of pity and respect. as he watched him bravely fight a losing battle. He was about a story or two off of the ground, on the roof of the chapel. he knew if he leaped down onto one of the attackers their body would break his fall, and disrupt their formation. he covered the glow of his blade with his cloak as he gripped the handle, ready to strike.

Enemy, familiar friend
my beginning and my end
Everything had gone silent for the young prince, as everything seemed to freeze, a single frame of the battle around him as he himself felt it hard to move. Perhaps his body was preparing itself for the obvious death he faced. In that moment, everything seemed hopeless.
Garrett had a look of defeat, a terror that painted it as though he had not ever felt such fear in his life. His own sister... wasn't his sister anymore. And perhaps she never would be again, should the blood lust never cease.
Karliah is who truly made him fear for their lives the most though. Despite the very fear that was looming over the group, she seemed to be enjoying herself, her laugh thickening the air with uneasiness that made him sick. She spoke of the gods, and perhaps of their own god that they worshiped.
And he began to wonder of his sister Zelda. And the beautiful witch that she had taken off with. Perhaps everything they had been promised was a lie.
Perhaps they had truly lost, and Nynaeve had tricked everyone to their death, while she sealed Zelda away as well. Maybe he was just thinking crazy, but the guilt began to rush him - it was his fault that this happened.
It was his doing that these events took place. If he had never met that woman, they would still be safe at the hideout.
While everyone was continuing in the midst of battle, Artemis had gone numb, being torn away from the beasts with little power, as he pressed himself up against the wall of a building, watching them hopelessly fight for their lives - and now the acolyte was returning to finish him off.
He stood up in the face of death, watching it as it slowly approached. He could barely find the strength to raise his blade as he wondered for the safety of Kura over everyone else. Perhaps she would kill them once the acolytes had been finished off.
‘Young man, I advise you to move back!’
"Huh?" Artemis turned quickly, a woman clothed in in a religious gown coming down to aid, a spear cutting the air as it narrowly avoided Artemis's head, plundering into the tentacles of the beast and severing them off. His eyes widened, a gasp emitting from his mouth quietly as he recollected himself.
There were suddenly more of them - more coming to help them face off the interlopers. At least two came to aid, and suddenly he felt ready again.
"We have reinforcement, we have to hold these things off as long as we can!" he readied his blade as he looked around at the two beasts. Using the shards of power and wisdom, they were truly cursed in their own regards.
But then it suddenly hit them. Despite the fight they put up against these two, there still lingered a question about another.
"Where... is the embodiment of courage?" Artemis said loudly enough for everyone to hear. "These two said they embodied power and wisdom. Doesn't that mean... that courage is lurking somewhere?"
er spear hit its mark, tearing through several of the grotesque tentacles that writhed around the figure of the embodiment. Bellowing in pain, it backed away from the young man who had collapsed in front of it, and turned its gaze upon one of the others who were attacking it. Sure that he was saved for the moment, she made no further attempt to help him and his group as her attention was soon distracted by a shout of determination mingled with pain. Turning round as she heard this, she witnessed a striking blue light cut through the air while a worn blade pierced the body of the other embodiment.
But there was no time to spend rejoicing for the supposed defeat of that enemy, for drops of blood were falling from the man’s stomach, a pool of crimson forming beneath him. Sappho’s eyes widened in shock as the full injury registered. His torso had became a mess of bloody flesh, a deep and clean cut had become marred from his efforts. Sappho immediately made her way down to the alleyway where he now lay, exhausted and faint from pain, to help him in some way, her first course of action being to dislodge the blade he had stabbed himself with.
‘A bandage won't suffice to help out for this wound, it is much too deep… I am afraid there is not much to be done for you. Mortals don't seem to appreciate their lives enough, so fleeting as they are. Poor soul, of anything I will give you the proper rites, I have become quite used to saying them…’
Even after saying that morbid statement, she wrapped a makeshift bandage formed of torn cloth around his wound. However, as she did this, she paused suddenly when a thought crossed her mind.
‘Rites, and healing… why do those two concepts seem to be so familiar together? What is it I have forgotten that is so important as to come to mind at this moment… Ah, now I see! Do not worry, brave young man, there is hope for your life yet!’
Her hair glew a vivid green as she started to chant some incantation or other, half lost to her memory but still lingering on in the depths of her mind.
Stripped of my pride, my sanity, even my mortality, I resigned Myself to the role Of an onlooker.
