TITLE/NICKNAME: Mal, the living Shadow, Princess's Attendant

AGE: 420
GENDER: Male
SEXUALITY: Bi-sexual
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY DESCRIPTION:
Malikeith is a man who has seen a lot. Not as much as most of the long lived Sheikah tribes people, but enough for it to weigh on him. He has a great conscience, unable to stop himself from getting involved in events that he has no right to be integrated with. If he saw a village in trouble, a traveller in jeopardy, he’d be there in a flash and gone just as quickly. A man of strong values and belief in Hyrule, he will do pretty much what is asked of him to re-establish the Monarchy and return the Kingdom to how he remembers it, dedicated and reserved, he is determined to not falter.
As such, this does not make him the most fun person to be around. Certainly, he has his quirks and habits but it is all underpinned by a great sense of duty and purpose. Everything else comes second, as such his creative flare for painting, while bringing him joy in private is never fully realised, leading some to believe he has very little time for ‘down time’. In some respect they would be right, even at the ripe old age of 420, Malikeith continues to push himself and train hard.
Due to his rigorous routine, one can find the Sheikah to be a difficult task master, expecting nothing but the best from those he works with. You would find him more likely to give respect than true friendship, but he is of course capable of such a connection. It is just sadly, due to his position and sense of justice, he hasn’t allowed himself time to make those friends. This has finally started to influence his mood as he is beginning to realise that making those meaningful connections brings weight and reminders of why he swore to protect the royal family and the moral code of Hyrule in the first place.
Malikeith has now began to try and reengage with people, to ground his feet as it were and hopefully fill the void that has slowly been growing inside.
LIKES: Apples: Nice and crunchy, a great source of food but not very good if one is trying to be quiet. These are his favourite fruit, though he has yet to perfect the correct way to create Apple Juice.
The great outdoors: When one reaches their second century, one begins to respect and understand nature on some level. It’s patience, it’s constant presence when ingenuity and races attempt to expand. Some successfully some not so much, Nature and all her wily ways endures. He enjoys walks in lush green forests most of all, harsher climates bringing with them all kinds of problems.
Tea: A man of worldly travel and experience (At least around Hyrule) Mal developed a great love and fondness of the warm beverage. He is perhaps an expert on all blends and types that can be used and made in the Kingdom of Hyrule and afar.
DISLIKES: Meat: Mal is mostly vegetarian and so the very idea of consuming another animal’s child to state his hunger twists it into knots. He has gained a fondness for fauna over the years and so works to avoid killing them needlessly. I say mostly because if push comes to shove and he’s likely to hunt game if utterly necessary.
Too much talking: Mal for all his skill and planning, is a man of action. While it is a nice idea that diplomacy and tact wins the day, he’s been around long enough that he knows acting gets results much faster.
Serpents: anything snake like sets his nerves on end. It is not a fear per say, he just finds how they look and move to be unsettling.
MOTIVATIONS: The restoration of the Hyrule Monarchy: Pretty self-explanatory. He’s been trained to look over the royal household. He’s grown up with the Royal family all his life, He’s lived in an age of peace that was brought about because of the royals and the hero. Mal believes with all his heart that they are the best solution to governing Hyrule and will work beside Queen Zelda and the guild she created to ensure this outcome.
To retire one day and take up water colouring: His devotion to the cause is true, never to weaver. He knows that should he avoid being killed, His long life would mean longer service to the house of Hyrule. But he can dream right? Maybe when he reaches 700 or so, maybe then he can finally get that little cottage on a hillside where he can paint the landscape until the cows come home.
To not die alone: He feels lonely, Not many people are easy to relate to when you get to a certain age, and even though he knows it’s nothing to moan about and his duty comes first, Mal has begun to see the beauty in making links with people. Meaningful links that would keep him going. He now wishes should his time come, to be with someone he can gladly call friend or perhaps, something more.
FEARS: That the fight will never end: Endless fighting, skirmishes and combat take their toll on those who see it. While he has lived in moments of piece there is always one more fight, one more skirmish that prevents him from fully enjoying what this bright, vibrant world has to offer. He worries that is the path he has been given, to constantly defend and fight, never to be allowed a moment of reprieve.
Failing his charge: He has protected and watched over many. Never having once failed in his task. But because of that he is in constant fear that it will happen at any moment. At any time he will falter and others will pay the price of his negligence.
Drowning: Having taken lives, having escaped many deaths, Mal can safely say that drowning would be the worst way to go. This stems from an event early on in his life where he was trapped under water, his lungs bursting for air. He would have died if not for a friendly Zora. Now he finds being submerged for long periods of time to be unnerving, the fear of drowning being ever present.
HISTORY: While it is not required to do a history, it is recommended to do so, since it can earn you extra stat points depending on quality!
Malikeith was born into the Sheikah clan over 400 years ago, in a time when Hyrule was enjoying peace. The family was like any other, two parents and a child. A lonely child. Malikeith grew up expected to serve and protect the royal family of Hyrule as all Sheikah of the Kingdom did. His mother Irene, on the other hand, had other ideas. She believed in the kingdom, she believed in the royal family, but she didn’t believe that a whole culture had no choice but to serve another race.
This small act of rebellion caused much sparks to fly in the household of Walker, rows about the destiny of the Sheikah and the rights of races were a common sight at the dinner table which caused for some friction in an otherwise happy household. People fight, it’s what they did but Mal’s parents always found unity in their love for their son. But when it came for him to be trained for his duty, events turned sour.
Malikeith was all for adventure and action, learning the ways of the ninja and weapons was exciting after all and he’d be taught under a great teacher named Nyssa. But his mother, the ever-free spirited Irene Walker couldn’t stand to see her son forced into it. She couldn’t bear the thought that he would lay down his life when he had no choice in the matter. So, in the dead of night, she left a note and an apple on his bedside table, before spiriting away, never to be seen or heard of again.
His mother’s desertion caused Mal and his father to come under scrutiny, judging eyes settling on the household of Walker for several years. This made Mal bare some mild resentment to his mother and drove him to prove his loyalty to the Sheikah clan as well as the house of Hyrule. He trained hard, he worked harder, he fought the hardest and soon found himself on track to being picked to be a royal bodyguard.
He had adventures throughout, surviving the Twilight invasion and many other skirmishes all the while protecting the royal household. However, he soon found himself tasked once again to guard and protect a young heir to the throne, the third in line to be exact, Kura Hyrule. Unlike previous royals, Kura proved to be something of a handful, causing the Sheikah much distress. Normally on her attempts to sneak out, Mal felt a great sense of failure having met his match in the form of a child.
When the king died, it was the beginning of the end. He tended to his charge as far as his duties would allow him, never being more than a humble body guard despite maybe needing to fill a role much more parental in nature. More tragedy struck when Zelda seemingly died on her wedding day, sending the kingdom into chaos. Mal had to leave his charge for the coming battle against Seith. Standing with an army, the hero and fellow warriors Mal gave his all, until being flummoxed by the surprise appearance of Princess Zelda. Soon the battle was lost, many of his brothers in arms being whipped out in a matter of seconds. Somehow the hero, Link managed to save them all but at a terrible, ghastly price.
The Royal family was debunked and thrown from the castle by an angry mob and he found himself jobless, the majority of the Sheikah having abandoned their old ways to Elazar. Mal would have no part of it, instead becoming a mercenary and assassin for hire. For 3 years he made ends meet before rumour of a guild being formed under the mentality of the old Hyrule met his pointy ears. Intrigued he sought them out and soon found himself joining the Heroes of Hyrule. A year on, Malikeith remains by the Royal family’s side. Either as the guard of Kura, or a man ready to do what is required to ensure the establishment of the Monarchy.
APPEARANCE
HEIGHT: 6’0
WEIGHT: 170lbs
APPEARANCE DESCRIPTION: Malikeith stands tall and trim, his body shaped by decades of training and activity into the best shape he needs to be. Not overly bulky but not scrawny either, Mal cuts an imposing figure with the weight and gravitas of a being wise beyond his years. His experiences having taken their toll, several scars and cuts graze his pale skin which he keeps under his clothes. He has the distinctive red eyes and pointed ears of a Sheikah as well as light almost platinum blond hair. He has began to wear glasses which isn’t exactly ideal for a man who prefers ranged weapons, but the plus side is it makes him seem more intelligent than he actually is.
Clothing wise Mal has two ‘sets’. The first is his official Sheikah garb used for official ninja business and of course, stealthy take downs. His other is a less conspicuous get up composed of a dark blue tunic, a navy blue hood and cape with dark trousers and brown boots.
