PERSONALITY
Haku does not have much of a personality. He has spent all of his life alone, and doing what he had to survive. He has killed people, -- quite a few people, been banished and betrayed. He has not known a caring touch since he was 14 years old and after nearly 600 years, that memory fades off into time.
What is left after all that time, is a cold man with little warmth for the world. He is stubborn, egotistical, obsessive, ill-mannered and demanding. But he is also loyal, courageous, strong willed, and calm. He makes for a great military leader if anything, as he is not afraid to do whatever it takes to win. As for a friend or companion? Not so much. He is honest --perhaps too much, and is traditional. He does not wish to seek companionship, and see's few people as worthy of his kindness. Haku is purely this monster formed under pressure from his beliefs, and has known nothing but hardship.
Beyond his obvious lack of social skills, he is just a reserved man, not wasting his time with small talk or care for anyone but himself. Though he can't be called selfish, as he isn't the man to go out of his way to ONLY help himself. He doesn't step on people, and take advantage of someone else's hardships. Instead he finds his own way to accomplish something or helps them to help himself. When it comes to his interactions with others, as long as you are not overly obnoxious, talkative, greedy or disrespectful, -- you will usually get to keep your head. Otherwise if you light his short fuse, you can expect a trip to the morgue.
Haku's one redeeming trait, is his passion. When he has his mind set on an ideal, he works hard to it's completion, and quite often forgets to take of himself in the process. One thing he wants more than anything is the restoration of the Sheikah people, and to live under rule of their own kin and determine their own laws, so that he may teach others the ancient traditions and rituals of their people before the civil war that left them scarce.

HISTORY
Hakuyu Feng has lived many lifetimes, watching the world slowly change around him for over six hundred years. However, he was not quite involved with the happenings in the realms until somewhat recently.
Born in Kakariko, Hakuyu was a mere infant during the Gerudo and Hylian War, in which many of his kin had died during. His father, rumored to be a fearsome warrior, was at the helm of this turmoil along with his older brother. As one could foresee, they died in the battles, leaving his mother to flee with him in her arms.
With the village and majority of the tribe destroyed, alot of remaining Sheikah looked to rebuild their home after the banishment of Ganondorf, or repopulate in neighboring lands.
Aasa, Hakuyu's mother, headed north to Horon City in Holodrum.
Unbeknownst to the newly widowed mother, Holodrum was a treacherous kingdom that looked down on the effort of the poor. So because her entire life was recently just destroyed, she had little. No home, No husband, and a baby that she needed to feed. So she resorted to what she had to do. Being a consort, she made a decent amount of money, for being seen as 'exotic', and after many years she was able to buy a small home and start again. No longer did the young Haku have to sleep in a wooden box in the back of a brothel, or eat the scraps from the paying highborns.
Haku was fourteen years of age when he started wanting more than a life of being poor. His was still physically younger than his age, but he took after his father and brother, and showed great promise at being a strong warrior. So he looked back south, to Hyrule where the great Sheikah tribe had been rebuilt.
Aasa was hesitant at first, not wanting to lose her son to such risky fighting, but the world was at peace -- at least what could be passed for peace, so she reluctantly agreed and he set out.
Haku was inaugurated into the tribe and began studying ancient traditions that were passed down through generations. Methods of combat and stylized fighting that were used by the ancient shadowy enigma's of the past. Yet the tribe was new, most older Sheikah having been killed in the old Hyrulean Civil War, and Haku wanted to learn more about his past; he was not content with mere legends and depicted paintings. He yearned for real experience from an ancient. Sheikah were said to be able to live for thousands of years, and in his heart, Haku knew this to be a fact. He strongly felt that there was a kin who could really teach him what it was to be a Sheikah.
So when it came down to being picked to serve the Hyrule Royal family; Haku was nowhere to be seen. Instead he fled the night before, slipping past the guard and breaking into the record hall to make off with a few manuscripts and tomes. In his mind, serving the Royal's of Hyrule was a waste. They could make their own kingdom and build a strong nation, and yet the continued to die in service to those that did not respect it.
For ninety years, Haku would scour the world, in ancient temples and ruins, the tops of mountain peaks, and through tome after tome. Searching for a sign, or a clue as to the existent of any ancient Sheikah civilization, or a hidden temple, or ANYTHING relative. But unfortunately, time fell short, and the world was plunged into a bed of chaos once again. Shadow Beasts threatened the realms, and terror gripped at the hearts of man. In his body he felt the shift of magic take over the realm of mortals, and he recognized it to be a dark power, one similar to his own.
So the Twilight King threatened the land; and by fate or mere chance, Haku stumbled upon a translated scribe that detailed an ancient temple that rested at the top of mountain in Hyrule. Across the Hylian range, he would scale to find the hidden artifact that appeared to be abandoned many years before his coming. He almost felt the desire to go back, had it not been for the fires that burned in the braziers outside. There was someone inside, and he didn't wait long before finding out.
Entering the temple, Haku was unsure what to expect, but he was definitely surprised at what he found. A sheikah monk, one that lived within that temple for hundreds of years, in service to the Goddess's. This particular man, was over two thousand years old and was one of the youngest to have taken up the tradition of his kin and worship the 3. This was what Haku had been searching for, and for many years he devoted himself to service of the monks, and the Goddesses so that he may learn his true nature and of those before him.
The monks taught him about their lineage, ancient family names, and even made him a blade. A straight and narrow sword that not many sheikah used to this age, seeing as how they did not fight openly and preferred the shadows, ranged attacks, and using magic. He however, preferred to fight hand to hand, steel to steel and watch his opponent's reaction as he cut them down.
In this time, he picked up many of the old traditions for himself --Including tattooing his face. Whereas, a sheikah that comes from a long line of pure blood may show their lineage with the symbol tattooed on their brow, he took up a different symbol. Though it was not traditional, he placed a moon upon his forehead to show his solitary devotion....but it was not to the Goddesses.
His obsession with Sheikah history stemmed from his family's unfortunate demise, and thinking that they were destined for something greater than just laying down their life for Hylian Royalty. He was disheartened to hear that it was actually a request from the Goddess's themselves, and protested it greatly. After speaking this outright to the Monk, he was banished from the temple, for he brought no honor to the Sheikah traditions.
After his descent down the mountain, Haku was highly irritable at the thought of Hyrule in general, and he decided it was time to go home.
Holodrum didn't seem to change in his 180 year absence, though there were less people in it than before -- which probably had something to do with the Twilight Kings's antics. No matter, he immediately headed for the small house that his mother had purchased before he left. Even after the amount of time he spent away, he still remembered where home was.
Though he would be highly disappointed to find that his mother no longer resided in said house. In fact the elderly human couple that took its residence say that they had been living there for 60 years long and don't recall a Sheikah woman owning it even before that.
They did however, have a stack of letters in their possession. Each one addressed to his mother from him, and each one detailing his journey. She never received them, and at this point he assumed she was either missing, or dead.
Oddly enough, Haku was not sad. He cared for his mother, but he didn't care enough to deteriorate in any way, or even shed a tear for her absence. He had spent the last 180 years on his own at that point. What was anymore?
So left without a home, without a purpose, he did the only thing he could do best. And that was fight. He reluctantly joined the city guard, where he was sneered at, spat on and disrespected for decades as he slowly climbed the ranks. See, he had an advantage over these egotistical humans -- he outlived them. Not only was he far more advanced in fighting technique, he was smart enough not to get killed, and naturally he was blessed with longevity. Through a chain ladder effect, at 150 years old Haku was made to be made commander.
Was.
The current King, however, didn't want a once foreign Sheikah to be made nobility based only off of hard work. He believed in the power of blood, and gave the position to a young human male. This had angered Haku. Not only were humans and hylians disregarding their effort, but they were once again stepping on them in their service.
In his anger, Haku murdered the King. Openly as well, in this throne room as he was about to knight the future commander. Haku disrupted the ceremony, and slowly walked up to the throne where he plunged his blade into the King's heart. As you would expect, pandemonium broke out in the court. Women screamed, babies cried, and men were speechless as they watched Haku pull out and clean his blade before sliding it back into the sheath.
The to-be commander raised from his kneeling position and pulled out his blade, ordering the city and king's guard to arrest Haku, yet they did not, instead they stood their ground as the commander frantically yelled at them.
They did not want to attack Haku, out of the many years that they looked up to him. He served the city and the crown for many years, and yet he was denied his position to some greenie due to something trivial as blood.
With that he closed in on the commander and held him up by his jaw, speaking in a low and intimidating tone, "You see... true power is something earned... not something you are born with." He said before throwing the man to the ground and leaving the city.
Holodrum was given another king, one that was not quite as delusional, and life moved on. Of course he was brandished a traitor, and hunted by many bounty seekers, but none of them stood a chance against the seasoned and skilled fighter. Except for one, a woman that he did not expect had tracked him after a decade and attempted his life. See, her name was Kaia, and she was a betrayal that he did not even think would happen.
Another sheikah, Haku ran into her in a rather obscure location. Within Death Mountain. Hakuyu was acting as a mercenary type, just trying to earn some money for coin, and the Gorons made decent armor that he had his sights set on. He was the only sheikah within 100 kliqs, or at least that is what he thought.
She worked in the Inn and was absolutely beautiful, with long silver hair and the bright red eyes of their kin. She didn't appear to be a day over one hundred, and was perhaps even younger. In his eyes however, she was perfect.
Haku, having spent most of his time studying under old men, or even older men, did not interact with females very often. And while he was not a blabbering mess, he still kept his cold demeanor as she joyfully served him and his compatriots.
With shoved elbows and poked sides, Haku was pushed to talk to her, and while it was not pleasant at first, he eventually eased into it. He learned her name, and how she came to be in the city, and what kind of things she liked. After many months of coming back from missions to see her, he finally was sure of his love and he confessed. She returned his love and the two found themselves sleeping in a down feather bed of the Inn.
It was here that she tried to cut his neck, but he caught the movement and instead slit HER throat, leaving her body to bleed all over him. After searching her items, and questioning her employers, Haku discovered her origin and boiled it down to another assassination attempt.
He simply laughed, and left the city once again, with nothing but his armor and sword on his person. Maybe now they would think him dead, or maybe not, but he would continue his work elsewhere.
For 290 years, Haku acted as a wandering vagabond, working for coin, and sharpening his skills. It seems like a long time without settling down, but he preferred it that way. He never truly gave himself to one kingdom over another, and he amassed many skills in that time. He spent time with Zora fishermen, traded with Gerudo, trained with Goron and even returned to Holodrum in that time.
After nearly 300 years, the treasonous act he committed was nothing more than a legend in the story books, and his name was forgotten over time. He climbed through the ranks of the guard again, feeling no love for the job, other than something to do.
The day came again that he was to be made commander, and he reluctantly did not accept the position, instead moving into the castle and serving in the King's Guard. In which he was surprised to find another Sheikah serving as the Hand. A female one at that.
Though it was not what he desired, Haku made the best of it as he could. The years of serving were not hard, minus a few tragic stories from the Royal line, it was otherwise quiet. Primarily just men and women complaining about being treated fairly.
He caught wind about another Hero and Zelda incarnate being born, and he cringed at the idea of another Sheikah devoting her/his life to their service --knowing that it only meant death.
With the incarnate came another prophecy, another foretold doom, and for the most part, things changed for Hyrule. But Holodrum kept out of it, that was until the King died, and his son took over. Asthar, unlike the previous rulers, was different, and Haku respected him; eager to see what changes await for the kingdom.
APPEARANCE
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Hakuyu stands at an impressive 79 inches tall [6'7"], and weighs approximately 178 pounds. He has more of an athletic build, with clear cut muscle definition rather than just being long and lean. From his father, he developed slanted-almond shaped eyes, which radiate the blood red hue of his kin, and are surrounded by dark colored eye lashes and brows, despite having silvery white hair. His face is short and heartshaped, and he has a strong pointed jawline -- both portraying his strong lineage as a Sheikah. A noticeable feature of the man, is his tattooed mark upon his forehead and the painted red stripes on his cheeks. These are nothing more than traditional markings, but to another person they may appear abnormal.
HAIR AND EYES: Long white bangs fall over and frame the glowing red orbs of the Sheikah. Followed by waist length and silky strands that either hang over his shoulders or is pulled up in a ribbon behind him. Though he does go out of his way to take care of it, Haku rarely notices his hair or cares for it much beyond just keeping it clean. With a straight and soft texture, he finds that strands fall where they please, but they don't obscure his vision much. However, unlike his hair color, his eyebrows and eyelashes are a dark brown, almost black even, and they, like his eyes, portray his intimidating demeanor properly.
ATTIRE DESCRIPTION: Over many years of wearing different things, Haku has developed an odd choice of fashion. He prefers to wear a simple red and white patterned tunic with long sleeves, and a pair of similar colored hakama that flow from his waist and are tied at his ankle to produce a ballooning effect. Over his shirt he wears his crafted Goron armor and a amber colored sash that he bought from the Gerudo Markets. He also chooses to wear short ankle tall boots that are black in color and made of leather. At his waist he will always carry the blade that was made for him at snowpeak temple.
MAGIC
+ Night Vision: All Sheikah are able to see in the dark if they possess crimson colored eyes; however, they will glow in the darkness, making Sheikah a target for attacks if the others cannot see in the shadows.
+ Lens of Truth: Sheikah have a natural ability to resist illusionary magic of equal or lower rank of their arcane trait.
- Weak to Light: Sheikah are weak to light attacks due to their natural ability to thrive with shadow based magic. Due to this, they will take extra damage to light magic.
MAGIC TYPE: Illusion
NAME: Mirage
RANK: Uncommon
CLASS: Support
DURATION/COOLDOWN: The Illusions lasts for 3 posts, or until it is forcefully broken by an opponent or by the user. After casting this spell twice in a single post, The caster must wait 3 posts before being able to create anymore. If the caster only casts it once a post, they only have to wait up to Two posts to cast another.
DESCRIPTION: Sheikah are well known users of shadow magic, and even though Haku did not learn any magic prior in his life, he picked up the use of this spell under tutelage of the monk up on Snowpeak. Simply, the caster copies any object within a small radius and uses shadow magic to create an illusionary copy. This object cannot move, speak or interact with anything, and only takes on the appearance of one thing at a time. Commonly Haku likes to use this spell to serve as a clone or distraction for the enemy in a fight so he can quickly move in and finish his opponent. It is easy to break the illusion by touching it, phasing through it, or dispersing it with immense light.
