Today was the day.
When Zelda had woken from her coma, she was given word of Elinkar's state. Messy, hidden, and all over the place from the trauma dealt within the Sacred Realm. But she was in no state ready to pick up the pieces herself, either. She was frail still, and while she had to work to build her strength again, Link was to do so as well.
Despite Artemis wanting absolutely nothing to do with that boy, Zelda had requested for him to offer himself as a sparring partner, allowing for the youthful 'hero' to regain his skills with a blade. He agreed to it to make her happy, but goodness was he miffed that he had to be the one to do it.
And although Zelda had used the word "offer", he knew damn well that boy would decline. Some hero he was, he was rather set in his ways of hiding up in his cabins and avoiding confrontation from anyone - including the royal family.
So the young prince decided to take a different approach to this. Early in the dawn, he made his way through the halls of the Castle Ruins slowly, striding to a stop at the Hero's door. As a man of nobility, having the deepest respect for those deemed the Holder of Courage should have the utmost respect for their privacy, right? Absolutely not.
Opening the door quickly, he made way for the knight's bed before ripping the covers off of him in a jolt. "On your feet soldier!" he commanded, his voice low and stately. "How can Hyrule truly depend on such a lazy and cowardly boy? Today is your first day of training, do you understand? Get dressed and come with me."
