Finally a day to relax. It was quieter than usual, what with the wars, and everything that transpired over the past couple of weeks.... it felt nice to take a day of self care.
Dipping her feet into the water, the dishwater blonde sunk to the sand and closed her eyes. Around her neck, she wore the Holodran emblem that King Asthar had given her before they had separated and went their own direction. She'd likely go to meet with him once more in the next following days.
With a small inn not too far off, she thought of checking in for the night and ultimately keeping to herself. She wasn't alone in this idea; there were several others whom were relaxing under the sun's warmth and taking a swim. Many were Zora, and she began subconsciously scanning the people around her for Sheikah.
For caution, of course. When she neglected to find any, she was able to relax with a bit more security. No Heroes were around either, meaning that the Queen's subjects wouldn't be nagging her to come back.

She breathed in as her forehead was met with a kiss. Closing her eyes, she felt herself calm in his presence before her mind began to rush into a conflict of staying or going.
What was the correct answer? Was there one? How would the others feel if she left? But she was in more danger if she stayed. The Phenex clan have been on her tail ever since she returned to Hyrule. Perhaps she'd overstay her welcome.
Aryllia let out an exasperate sigh before looking up at Asthar carefully. She tried to read his eyes carefully, their crimson shimmer filling her cheeks with warmth as she felt her throat tighten up. For as much as he enjoyed making others happy and keeping up with appearances, she wondered how much seriousness really was hidden behind the uppity tone.
What are you trying to get out of this...? she wondered worriedly. She felt a hesitance to approach at first, before taking his hand slowly. "I would like to leave as soon as possible," she said quietly.

She closed her eyes for a moment, easing into Asthar's touch against her hair. Letting out a deep breath, she listened to his explanation of why he can't promise her request. Of course he wouldn't - she didn't expect otherwise of him.
She just wished it was easier to stay out of harm's way. With Eleazar on Zelda's tale and Link's return, she felt that it was getting harder and harder to stay away from the fighting. She hated the idea of running away.
But perhaps, that was the only way to make sure she didn't cause anymore trouble for others. As the king offered a place for her to follow him home, she paused in her thoughts and tried to argue with why that would be a bad idea.
She couldn't really find any. She wanted to avoid being seen by her brother at all costs - and she also couldn't handle the confrontation with Zelda whenever she were to wake up. If she could slip away silently, that would be best.
"What's out there for me in Holodrum? I don't really think being royalty suits me..." she shrugged, thinking about it. If she went back, how would his kingdom react? Would they try to push a marriage? Her eyes grew small trying to predict their future and it overwhelmed her for a moment. She'd become a queen, and that didn't sit well with her.
But then she thought of if she stayed. Fighting alongside her brother again - one who looked far too damaged to even stand a fight once more. Seeing him broken upon the castle floor as such made it seem as though she was looking at a complete stranger.
It wasn't her brother. That brother was killed in action. Whatever was left was a shell, and she'd have to pledge to risk her life for someone who may not be able to regain his sanity. Zelda was a fool for breaking the laws of nature.
And going back to the caslte to fight Eleazar head on once more... with a goddess on his side... didn't sound appealing. This was disaster waiting to happen.
She sighed again and looked at him cautiously. "I just don't want to be here anymore. Call me a coward, but I need time away to think."

She wasn't expecting to get much of a reaction from him just from a simple smile - it wasn't as though she'd never smiled in her life! Sure, she was a bit more stoic than others, and she would only smirk really, but she never figured a smile would be that important to someone. But the moment he saw her lips curve upward, he had frozen in place, as though he was awestruck.
He saluted in a sense, his arm moving behind him as he fell to his knee, giving his oath to wait for her. As he took the palm of her hand gently in his own, he brought it to his lips, kissing it gently, and she flushed immediately, unsure of how to react.
"H-hey now, you don't have to do that..!" she said shakily before he had looked up and winked at her. Sighing, she shook her head, playfully rolling her eyes before pulling on his hand to pull him forward as she fell onto her knees and hugged him tightly.
Her mind had been scattered, not only from these moments, but from their earlier time at the castle. "Please don't ever do anything stupid to try and save me like that again. If Majora hadn't shown up with her little... entrance, who knows what Eleazar would have done to you."

"You idiot..."
"Wait... what?" Aryllia narrowed her eyes. Did he really just call her an idiot for kissing him!? Her eyes widened and her face flashed an inhuman amount of crimson as she felt her throat tighten so much, she thought maybe something was choking her.
Suddenly a smirk curled onto his face as he began to speak again, only to explain that it was accepted and without gripe. She felt even stupider. She wasn't sure if it was because she was embarrassed that he was giving her kiss so much praise, or if it was because she couldn't believe she was in love with a complete dope.
She let out a deep sigh as her face curled into her collar once more, letting the heat escape from her skin as she tried to settle the whirls in her stomach. He spoke again, and she took a deep breath to look up at him once more.
His hand slowly began to raise toward hers, waiting for her to grasp it, and she watched his palm for a second, biting her lip as her eyes slowly moved up to his scarlet gaze. There was something different about them this time; they were more serious, but serene as well.
“so tell, do you desire to walk alongside me?”
Was he... asking her to be his? A very reticent gasp, barely audible to even herself had escaped her lips, as it shuddered into a nervous breath. She looked back down at his hand, hesitant to reach for it. This was so dangerous for them both... and it hardly made sense for them to be together in a political sense.
She was a sage. She wasn't supposed to find love. Her duty was to her temple. Nothing could distract her from that.
And yet, she still abandoned her post.
It didn't make logical sense to dwell on a duty she no longer wished to carry.
She let out a final breath as her lips curled, and slowly she brought her hand to meet his, resting it gently in his palm, before looking to him again, with a very apprehensive, but genuine smile.

This was a stupid idea. The moment Aryllia had done it, she regretted it; worried that perhaps it was a mistake or that she mistook his affection or was reading the entire situation wrong. But as she pulled him in, he was still for a moment, but eased himself, pulling her closer, and she suddenly felt like she was on fire.
They froze in time for a moment; the glow of the sprites and fireflies around them continuing to shimmer against the water that was near them. She couldn't understand why her heart was beating out of her chest, or why she couldn't think straight. She wanted to breathe, but she couldn't.
As they pulled apart, she looked down immediately, lips tightly pressed together as her face went red. Finally, she could breathe. She didn't look up at his reaction, still embarrassed she even pulled something like that. You're supposed to ask a King before you do anything to or for them, aren't you?
The King spoke, and she looked up again, this time a bit confused. He looked just as nervous as she did, and she felt like she was on fire again. She tried to speak, but her tongue was twisted and her words were just a mess of noise that became audible.
Oh god, did she want to run.
She swallowed hard and watched him carefully, still unsure of how to respond. Maybe it was too much; or maybe he was just saying that!
"Was... was that okay?" she asked quietly, a small quiver in her anxious voice. "I didn't mean to surprise you..."

Aryllia froze in place as Asthar's voice rose in anger. Stiff as a board, she kept her eyes forward and refused to look back - but the sound of him jumping up and taking a step in her direction caused her to snap back and watch as his piercing glower picked itself through her gaze.
“Just stop it! Stop doing this to yourself! I’ve had enough of this! Constantly putting yourself down, believing that you do not deserve to be around anybody you care about…The only person that is preventing you from feeling happiness is yourself! Nobody else!”
She felt like a knife went through her heart as the words filled her brain with panic. She retracted slightly, taking a step back as she fought with herself on whether to stay or run. He was approaching her now, still angry as ever and she couldn't believe he was reacting this way--nor did she think he could!
He continued to throw his words at her like darts as he took a stop directly before her. He was taller than her, looking down with those scarlet eyes and he continued to cry out his concern.
“Denying one’s self of happiness...growing colder and colder as time moves on…I’ve seen it happen with my own eyes and I won’t let the same thing that happened to that woman happen to you! I will not allow you end up just like my mother!”
There was a pause between them. He retracted in pain, There was a desperation in his eyes that she had never seen before, and she suddenly knew that the woman from the story before was his own mother. Her lip quivered a bit, swallowing hard as her mouth went dry. He was closer; closer than usual. He let out one last comment in defeat, but Aryllia's nerves began to light up within her and tingle beneath her skin at his last words.
Eyes widened, she let out an audible breath in surprise, stiff and void of all thoughts as they watched each other carefully.
He loved her. And all this time, she never knew. This couldn't be real, could it? Surely this had to be a joke. He was a King. His selection of women was infinite and surely he'd never lower himself to be with someone like her--
She stopped. She shook her head once in frustration at her own mind going negative once more. This is what it wanted; whatever was ingrained in her wanted her to be unhappy for survival purpose. She knew that.
She looked back at him for a moment, biting her lip as she tried to consider what to next. Closing her eyes she then sighed, before pressing a hand on his chest and taking hold of his shirt, pulling him into her and crashing her lips into his.

Her heart sunk when Asthar mentioned that the woman in question had been killed. Her eyes softened a bit, and she looked away rather sheepishly, ashamed she had brought it up in the first place. She continued to listen to him, but the silence fell over them again as he went to sit near her.
As he sunk into the ground beside her, his shoulder had brushed up against her own as she glanced in his direction as he began to speak once more. Why did he try so hard for her? She had gotten cheesy, unrealistic answers in the past about how he cared because they had history - but their history was brief and unlikely to progress.
There were plenty of others he could devote his time to helping, and part of her was suspicious that perhaps Elinkar had given one request to Asthar to watch over her; but that seemed doubtful as well. “Ah, so my safety is the closest thing to happiness to you? Ah dare I say you are starting to fall for me?”
Her eyes sprung open as she flung her head to face him; her face became pale and pink, flushing in horror as her heart froze in her chest. "Hold on--w-wait--I never said that--" she stuttered out as her lip began to tremble. What was he thinking saying something like that!? She couldn't believe he even brought it up! Quickly, she looked away again, her face becoming more red as she stuffed her nose into her arms, which wrapped around her over her knees.
He spoke of letting her try to deny the happiness, and that he'd stick around to prove her wrong, but she had no idea how to respond. She could barely look at him! But after a moment of collecting herself again, she swallowed hard and lifted her chin from her arms and slowly turned to him.
There were so many thoughts that scattered throughout her brain. It was as though time froze for a moment as her mind began to sort through each and every voice that screamed out for attention. And all she could do was stare at him, blanket expressions that just became calm and peaceful.
She closed her eyes for a moment, listening to each one, second by second as they raced in order.
He's lying to you.
Don't give into your weaknesses!
Maybe just this once, things could be okay.
Stop denying what you already know.
What she normally suppressed had overflowed and it became visibly obvious as worry washed over her face and she looked as though she was going to become ill. Her vision evaded his once more, and she started to snivel under her breath.
"I don't deserve this," she breathed out exhaustively. "I never deserved this--I never deserved you."
She looked back up at him with heavy eyes that were glossy and hard to keep focused. They followed his gaze, and then she looked down again, taking a deep breath.
"You should go, and we probably shouldn't see each other for a while," she admitted wistfully. "I-it's dangerous, and I'd be a target to get closer to you... and if Phenex finds out there's someone I... no, it's not safe, we shouldn't be this way--this was a mistake, I knew this could happen, and I still did it!"
She could barely control her anxiety as she whipped away from him and stood up in a fret. She took a few steps away from him and attempted to calm herself as her hands rose to her temples and pressed against them gently. Her breathing became sporadic and thinner, and once again her thoughts scrambled.
One of her greatest fears was becoming reality, and she couldn't stop it. Tears welled in her eyes for a moment, and she began to shake, feeling incredibly nauseous as she faced her phobias head on, watching it unravel before her and take over her sense of right and wrong.
"I can't love you," she conceded in a whisper as tears began to cascade over her cheekbones.

Despite everything that Aryllia tried to point out - she couldn't get Asthar to look serious about her concerns. He still had that smile plastered on its face; however it softened this time, becoming more relaxed and faltering to his words. He spoke of someone who was close to him, and how he did everything in his power to make her happy and to smile, but it became harder and harder.
Aryllia couldn't really understand why this story made her envious of that person - and somehow she could relate. It became harder for her to relax and enjoy the simple things. She had hardened in her time away from Castle Town - before Eleazar's armies threatened their survival. She grew hardened from watching many wars blow over and become stale. She grew colder because it felt safe.
She pursed her lips and continued to look away. She found it hard to look him in the eyes as the two spoke, but she let him finish his story and how it became a mission of his. "...What happened to this woman?" she finally asked, curious to see who was able to capture his heart.
He went on to speak about how a smile can boost the morale of those around him; and how a King must always be held in grace and collection, and Aryllia disagreed completely. That was no way to live; and to restrain yourself from feeling and expressing the emotions that impact you most can be detrimental in the long run. She frowned at this, turning back to face him with a concern painted over her.
"Thats... that's not okay," she stated carefully. "You can't do that to yourself! What about when no one is looking? Or when you are with people who will not judge? You can't just bottle it all up and expect to be okay in the end!"
She felt very seriously about this. As someone with experience in trying to hold the lid on everything she ever felt, and watching herself implode from the pressure, she knew the dangers on the mental state that this could cause. She understood the anguish it gave someone. The very feelings it created made her incredibly unstable and she attempted harm on her own life for it.
Even now she wondered - was he being true to his emotions right now? Was he really smiling because he wanted to? All she wanted was to see him for who he really was, and even now she struggled to think that this was truly him as a person.
Then he spoke of the mission - and how he feared for his life, and the life of his friends. It was the one moment in all of the time they have spent together that she had seen a glimpse of an emotion other than pure collection. And despite it only lasting a second, it had made her wonder what had triggered such a reaction.
But what truly caught her off guard, was the last sentence he spoke. After all of this, and after all of her arguments, he would not let down the attempt to have her smile for him. And it frustrated her to no end because she didn't like smiling.
"I don't understand you!" she shook her head, running a hand over her hairline. "There's nothing to smile for. Not now, not then, and probably not for a while. If I tried, it wouldn't be genuine. The only bliss I can truly attest to as being considered comparable to a happy feeling would be my relief that no harm came to you... and even then, my judgment is clouded by that... evil man."

Asthar had come down from the branch, slowly approaching her, but she dared not look in his direction as he came to a stop to her side. She took a deep breath, stifled in the space between her lips and her knees where they met, before slowly letting her fingers tighten into a grip. He began speaking calmly, but it only made Aryllia more irritated.
He talked of her fears--or rather--he talked of what he presumed she feared, and her stomach was twisting and turning so much she thought she might vomit. Even if these fears were true, it wasn't something she could easily undo or adjust to; and she was not confused. She felt she had a good set of ideas for what she did and didn't want--and he was something that... well...
She blinked a few times as she tried to trace back to that thought - what did she want from him? Or better yet, who was he to her? She sighed again, taking note that he began to step closer to her once more, now standing directly to her side as he towered over her petite body which curled up against the tree.
Once he began descending to meet her at eye level, she inhaled sharply from the nauseating feeling that returned and she kept her eyes direct and forward so that she wouldn't have to look directly at him. He continued to speak, but she still couldn't figure it out; why was he so calm?
"Do you feel anything?" she finally said, her tone became resolute and rather vindictive in a way. "Y'know, for as long as I've known you, I've come to realize I probably don't know you at all. You carry this facade with you wherever we go, and I've only ever seen it lift once."
She paused for a moment, swallowing hard as she slowly turned her face toward his. Her eyes were tired, and her hair was becoming messy. A small cut beneath her cheek had dried out and left as a minor scratch upon her skin.
"You have that monotonous, ever-cheery tone and try so hard to appear carefree and flirty and--" her voice rose a bit, but she stopped to word herself carefully. "The smile you carry, and the weight behind your eyes tells me it's all just a veneer to some kind of pain, or some kind of weakness that you can't bare to let anyone see. And it's not fair that I'm sitting here--practically unraveling in front of you and you just laugh and pretend that everything is going to be okay, and that you just want me to smile."
She inhaled again, sharper this time, before turning her head again. Her mind flashed back to the castle, a tremble in her body that lasted only an instant, and he tightened her grip onto her legs.
"I... I really thought we were going to die back there. I just don't understand how you can retain that kind of personality... after everything..."

Aryllia was not expecting company. The moment she heard the voice of another, her eyes had widened, and she stared at the figure whom was resting some distance away from her. The bright red eyes brought her familiarity of the King whom she had just traveled across Hyrule with.
For a moment, she found it hard to speak. Pursing her lips for a moment, she looked down, taking a deep breath and shrugging - or well, trying to with a broken arm. She winced slightly at the attempt before shaking her head in annoyance.
"I wish you wouldn't do that," she said sullenly. "I'm not pretty. Especially not now. And you should know by now I can take care of myself."
She felt her chin slide back into her hood, hiding her face behind the shadow that fell over from the cloak. With legs crossed and arms tucked in tight, she made herself as small as possible to avoid having to have too much interaction. Of course, it was Asthar though. And she should have known that no matter how much she would protest, he'd keep prying.
“Mind if I keep you company?”
"I'm fine! I don't need company!" she growled as she snapped her head forward in irritation; although she immediately regretted her words as soon as she spat them out. She couldn't quite explain why she had been so angry lately - whether it was because of everything that had transpired, or if it rooted from something deeper.
She could, however, note that she was especially petulant with Asthar despite having a deeper protective nature for him. She often second guessed things he would say to her, or became distrusting of his promises. It was all in her head though; nothing he had done or said to her had ever backed any of her fractious responses.
A silence lingered in the air, accompanied by the crickets and critters that lived within their surroundings. She had brought her knees up to her chin, resting her arms within the space between her chest and legs, before burying her head in shame.
"I'm sorry," her voice wavered. "I don't know why I do that."

It takes a day to travel from the Castle to the Heroes of Hyrule camp. And since they had traveled to there late at night, they of course arrived late at night as well. Most of the members had been sleeping, aside from the usual guards. Aryllia, exhausted and unable to move had curled herself in the corner of a carriage with a blanket, and slept the entire time. Arm in a sling, she found it hard to get comfortable, keeping balance between both Asthar and Percy until they had made it home. But she refused to wake - her exhaustion was evident.
When they finally had arrived, they had been given a designated area to stay - an area with many beds for guests. But Aryllia didn't want to stick around. She didn't want to be there when everyone woke up, because the last person she wanted to face was in that very area.
Once the others had been settling in and focused on where they would be staying, Aryllia crept from the hall and immediately headed for the exit. She knew it would be stupid to try to go anywhere else from this point, especially in her weakened state - but if she waited long enough, she'd be able to go back once her brother was no longer within the area. So she headed out toward the forest, where she'd find a little spot to wait out the night.
Fairies, fireflies, and sprites galore - the little orbs of light illuminated the trees and shimmered against the small pool of water where Aryllia had taken up her rest. She wasn't far from the base - she only walked around the corner, where she bordered the Kokiri who guarded entrance to the rest of the ruins.
Against a tree, she dipped her hand within the water, before cupping it and pouring it over her injured arm - the coolness of the water soothing the pain that ached within her broken bone. She winced, but continued to do so, her icy fingers tracing along the fracture. Taking some petals of some flowers she collected along the way, she placed them upon her arm for medicinal effect - some for reducing the swelling, and others for hindering pain.
She was solemn - but she was embarrassed most of all. She had never allowed others to see her in such a state of fear and anguish, and to let that slip from her collection, she was humiliated. She honestly just wanted to run away again; just like how she did before when her brother was sealed away. But there was no where else to go anymore - it was either stay here or risk being seduced by the crime and capture by Eleazar's forces once more.

Aryllia didn't even know what to expect. She had been close to Asthar for quite some time after their little reunion mission, but she never expected for this to happen. She was afraid of this kind of stuff! It softened people, made them distracted, and often self destructive with their own lives for the sake of the other person.
But Asthar was patient with her, and that's all she could really ask for. Perhaps the most noticeable of her flaws and inexperience was her inability to properly express herself, especially when others were around. When Asthar had told her that Kura and Percy would be accompanying them at their little resort, she was a bit embarrassed. She barely knew how to be romantic in private! But with others around...
She shifted her weight between her feet uneasily as she stood between Asthar and Haku, rarely looking up to gander at the ship that was slowly making way for the dock. She took a deep breath when Aiz had given his concerns, and when Haku had chimed in with his 'having fun isn't my job' comment. She couldn't help but snicker a bit to that response. She felt the same way.
Still, Asthar insisted that this would be a fun trip for everyone, and he was always making sure that she would be comfortable. At least they'd have their own room, she supposed... but when the ship grew closer, she could see Kura nearly falling out of the thing, way too eager to exit and run out onto the beach, and Percy behind her looking nervous as all hell.
"I hope you're right... I just feel like I don't exactly fit in," she murmured in response to Asthar, her face hiding within the collar of her cloak. When everyone started to exit the ship, she watched the trio as Kura began running toward the sand, Percy close behind and Garrett lugging a ton of bags. Poor guy.
"Well, that's it right? Can we go see this place now?" she said, nearly turning around as she saw two others begin to exit the ship. The first was one person she recognized very well - Zelda. Well, this would be awkward. She hadn't really spoken to her since her brother died. They had maybe one run in and Aryllia just kind of gave her the cold shoulder. It must suck being a third wheel... but at least she'd keep Garrett company right?
But then the second person began to exit the ship, and Aryllia couldn't quite put her finger on who it was. She thought maybe it was one of their retainers since they were obviously not Sheikah. Garbed in blue, long blonde hair, he started to walk beside Zelda, and suddenly--suddenly--his face came into view and Aryllia almost couldn't believe it.
"No. No, no, no," Aryllia started to murmur, only loud enough for her and those beside her to hear. "Please tell me you didn't know about this--you did not plan this without telling me, did you!?" Aryllia growled at Asthar before turning back to her brother again. This couldn't be possible! How was he out!?"This was all just a sick joke, wasn't it, haha! Let's bring all the people who Aryllia disappointed in one place! THIS WAS A STUPID IDEA!" Aryllia slammed her fist into Asthar before storming off toward the resort. "You guys have fun. I'm going to 'prepare' for the inevitable fights to come."

She stood in silence, listening to what the King had to say. It was true - Holodrum was a mess. One that was a lot bigger for one person to handle on his own. The circumstances taking over Hyrule just created the perfect storm in its own right, and with Asthar's hands tied with keeping his own people in line, there wasn't much he could do to aid the Queen beside lending supplies here and there. Perseus had been more directly involved, because the person overthrowing Hyrule was one of his own; a Labrynnan Zora whom should have not have crossed the borders to begin with. The Zora were always going beyond the permissions of the King, and this could have been avoided in its entirety if he had known more about the situation - or if Galadhion had given a shit when he was still alive.
He said he trusted her, and that he was keeping an eye on her for her safety and potential, and she sighed, looking down. There was nothing noble about her these days. She was trapped in a cage, and only given the illusion of freedom by those who took control. She wanted to believe she had the skill and strength to vanquish these hardships, but she didn't. There were too many, always watching, and keeping an eye on all her endeavors. Even now, she wondered if she was being watched.
Then he asked her of her own loyalties. It was true, she fled the moment that Link was defeated. But that wasn't because she didn't care - it was because she failed everyone. If she had just been able to harness her power correctly, she could have been able to stop Seith in his tracks, and gave Elinkar more time to prepare for the final battle.
"It's not so simple," she said staunchly. "When your one job is to prevent that evil power from escaping, and it still manages to... you start to wonder if you were ever useful to begin with." she closed her eyes, folding her arms over her chest as she took a deep breath. "After watching my brother die and then taken away from the gods, I knew this land was forsaken. There's no use in aiding a cause that has no possibility of taking back what is theirs - not without breaking the natural order of things. I refuse to allow myself to get invested into something that has a small chance of actually succeeding. He's dead. The Sacred Realm has closed. The Triforce is gone, and so is Hyrule."
His last words struck her with surprise though, as her eyes flashed open again, and she looked at him awkwardly. "...I manage to do fine alone. I don't need protection. Sure, the Sheikah defects are using me for their own gain but... they wouldn't just let me die. I won't allow that."

He seemed weakened by the attack, sliding from the wall and unable to move. Aryllia sighed in relief, looking to where Asthar had been, but he was gone. Confused, and distracted by him being missing, she hadn't noticed that the boss had now sprung from his position and was throwing himself full force at her. And this time, she wouldn't be able to miss it. She gasped, but the clash of a blade interrupted it, only inches from her body, as Asthar had appeared, the blade within the belly of the beast.
He spoke, threatening the man for hurting her, and her eyes widened as his hair had flowed out from beneath the mantle of his hood. Tossed aside, too badly damaged to continue use of, he stood stately with his blade embedded into the bandit, who started to scream at the realization of his identity. "Wait..." Aryllia whispered, as the boss then fell over incapacitated, and Asthar stumbled to the ground, looking to her with his scarlet eyes.
"...Y-your grace," she stammered, stunned that he was the one who had been alongside her this entire time, "Why--how did you... why did you ask for me of all people?" She saw him struggling to move, and she quickly jumped to his aid, kneeling beside him and helping him up. But his main concern was the prisoners, and she nodded.
They made their way down the hall and she didn't say a word, still aghast to his identity, and unable to come up with a plausible explaination as to why this was going on in the first place. But she moved quickly, finding the alchemists and their families, allowing them to escape freely.
And for the time being, they would be safe.
When the two had finally exited the base, shrouding themselves in the forest, she turned to him, confusion painted over her as she shook her head. "What is this? How did you find me? I haven't seen or heard a word of you since my brother..." she paused for a moment. "Since the coalition fell."
