So the time had finally come where they would have to go. With the way that the conversation was going it was something that was to be expected, but even so he was a bit hesitant to really let go. It truly was rare for the king of Holodrum to truly get attached to something but he begun to realize that these days this has changed and the girl right before him was the biggest change of his life. Just looking back into her eyes made it all too hard to really see her go, especially with how close they were now, but he knew what needed to be done.
He felt his hand being held and in response he used the very same hand and curled his fingers to hold her hand as well. He closed his eyes and gave her a soft smile and let out a sigh as he shook his head “geez you’re in such a rush, but I won’t stop you…if you feel to go then go…” Asthar said as his grip on her hand loosened. “But do know, if you need anything…any help or just to see me once more…” Asthar said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out an emblem of Holodrum and placed it in the palm of her hand. “Use this, so that you can contact me and also...” Asthar said before reaching behind his neck with both hands. With his hands he unhooked the pendant that hung on his neck and placed in in the palm of her hand. “it’s a rather simple trinket, but something I rather like…its yours now…use it to remember me if you wish” Asthar said closing his eyes and gave her a big smile “Promise me you’ll take care” Asthar said. Though he desire for her not to leave, he wished to make this momentary departure more cheerful and easier for Aryllia. He always did dislike the more sappy moments after all.
It was only a mere week, but that week was a key moment that would change things quite a deal. The world was changing and a divine disaster was unleashed upon the world, but if one merely ignored the smaller issues in life then those sheer small issues will eventually grow into something uncontrollable. In a way speaking with Aizen made him forget about any fatigue that he had been feeling at the time. Being able to get away from the repetitive and dull work was truly a blessing in itself, but Asthar knew he had a much more difficult road up ahead for him.
“Hoh? The council?” Asthar said musing a bit as he was quite curious whether this was merely basic talks or something more. He glanced over his shoulder at his advisor and couldn’t help but calmly narrow his eyes the moment she said they needed to speak privately. “Is that so? Very well then…” Asthar said calmly as he walked forward. “Then privately it is…to be honest you are the only one that I wish to have this discussion with for now…” Asthar said as he begun to walk, raising a hand to signal her to follow. “Come now, no one will dare to interrupt us in my quarters…” Asthar said as walked on towards his own room and opened the doors, welcoming her in before closing the doors behind them.
The room was grand and luxurious. Asthar wasn’t one to really care for fancy décor, but as king these sorts of things were more so mandatory. With lots of space and even furniture to take a seat in, Asthar walked in and looked over at her with a soft smile “Do make yourself comfortable. Treat it as your own room and most importantly I want you to be yourself” Asthar said calmly taking a seat on one of the chairs.
With legs folded and arms crossed, Asthar calmly closed his eyes and waited for Aizen to settle herself before speaking. “Now then Aizen, speak. Tell me what you wish to discuss and do not skim on the details…we shall sort out what you have to discuss before moving on to the matters I have to discuss” Asthar said. His voice was firm and stern, the usual smile on his face was removed with the more stern look. While he was ready to speak about what happened during the mission, he couldn’t help but feel curious about what Aiz had to say
The floor was cold and hard, yet even despite this fact the elegant king merely slept on it peacefully and content. He would take whatever sleep he could get a this point and in this state of self he actually didn’t wish to be bothered despite being in a state of mind that did not really register that he was sleeping on the ground when he could have clearly slept on his nice and comfy bed.
A voice called out to him, calling out to his kingly self and offered assistance, but Asthar didn’t want to deal with this person. His sleep was interrupted and he didn’t like that as his mind had yet to fully awaken just yet. A long dissatisfied groan was let out of his lips, the sound muffled due to the floor. “…please just leave me to diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie…wait minute” Asthar whined, but in that moment his eyes opened and his mind finally begun to awaken as he realized just who spoke to him. Immediately he planted both palms flat on the ground and raising his elbows he pushed off the ground and jumped up to his feet.
“Ah! Aizen! What brings you around here” Asthar said with a bright smile. Though the dark bags still remained on his charming face he was still quite energetic look for somebody who was just sleeping on the ground. Being able to get a few minutes of shut eye managed to at the very least give him some form of energy back and seeing a familiar face was something that helped bring that energy. “I was hoping to see you tomorrow, but this works out rather well” Asthar said closing his eyes as he began to use his hand and dust off his clothes before returning his attention back to his advisor. “I’m glad to see things are well over here. Thank you for keeping an eye out” Asthar said as he frowned and rubbed the back of his neck “see I would have returned back sooner….though things took quite an unexpected turn…” Asthar said before turning his back on her.
“Why don’t we head over to my quarters…We’ve got much to discuss” Asthar said, his usual cheerful tone suddenly shifting to a more serious and calm tone. With those words said Asthar immediately turned his head and looked over his shoulder at her and gave her a happy smile “C’mon!” Asthar said as his usual cheerful tone returned.
Ah the feeling to be king...it truly sucked quite a deal…
It had only been a few days ever since he managed to get back to the castle and already he was swamped with a numerous amount work that needed to be done. His body was still aching from the shuriken wounds he received during the mission with Perseus to “slay” the tyrant, but the pain was light and his body had mostly recovered ever since that time.
The flames of the torches in his personal chambers were burning rather dimly, giving the young king a source of light that wasn’t the best to illuminate the entire room, but enough for him to see what he needed. With a pitch black sky painted with numerous stars out above being able to be witnessed from a nearby window, the Holodronian king could only let out a deep sigh as slumped over the desk he sat beside. It had been far too long since the young king received any form of rest and he could only stare at the mass of papers resting on his desk with his weary eyes that held dark bags of fatigue under them.
“This…is absolutely the worst….” Asthar said with a sheer groan of discomfort. Sure he was a carefree and nonchalant man, but when it came down to his work he was one who didn’t really didn’t half ass his work. For Asthar he was one who pushed himself a great deal when it comes to his work. With his little escapades over he needed to catch up with what he missed and while sure he had another who could have helped he really didn’t wish to burden her in this regard. It was his responsibility and his duty to do it all and he did tell himself he would try his best to lighten her load. She had done so much for him and he didn’t know how he could have done it without her. He needed to pull his weight and he needed to stop having her clean up his messes. In a way Asthar never really thought much about himself, but so long as he had her he felt he was more than just fine.
It was getting worse and worse as time went on. Almost like a silent redead it had reached the point where he was staring blankly with droopy eyes while his hand moved almost on its own, signing certain documents with one hand while the other move the document. Luckily he had read and organized each document so he wasn’t merely signing anything he shouldn’t be, but it was still blind signing nonetheless.
“Please…just…kill me…” Asthar let out as he finally decided to look down at the current document he was signing only to realize instead of signing with his name he clearly wrote what he had just said. Worst of all it was a document requesting for a small donation for a place where children can play. His near dead right eye twitched a tad and with that his pen fell from his hand as his stomach began to grumble. “Weeeeeeeeeelp that’s a clear sign I need to get some food!” Asthar said as he immediately rose to his feet and placed his fur cape over his shoulders.
Asthar was a man that liked to do things for himself. While sure he did make use of his royal privileges from time to time, whenever he could he would take matters in his own hand. Surely the walk from his quarters to the kitchen wasn’t that bad right? Leaving his room his travels begun…but they barely made any distance as Asthar lost energy and merely fell forward. With face planted face down on the ground, the king of holodrum just laid there in the middle of the castle hallway…sleeping peacefully like baby.
Trouble followed them wherever they went. No matter where he went and no matter what anyone did there always seemed to be conflict. All his life he had seen nothing but conflict, but in the end it was something Asthar had to get used to. All the king could truly do was merely fight back when was needed and prevent the conflict to the best of his ability. From the conflicts involving his father and Galadhion to Seith’s invasion and Eleazar’s conquest of Hyrule the world saw no break from it, but it was moments like this he just wished to ignore all that.
Perhaps it was hard to really say Asthar’s mind would eventually be at peace, but holding the girl he begun to care about was something that brought him close to that feeling. He wished he didn’t have to speak of such things, but alas they needed to talk about the future plans. For him he could say his path has already been set, but for her sake he would do whatever he could.
“hmm whats over there at Holodrum for you? Well that’s obvious! It’s me!” Asthar said releasing her as he pointed at his face, his eyes closed and a charming yet idiotic smile on his face. He chuckled happily, but he then begun to slowly quiet down and then just let out an exasperated sigh. “I honestly cannot say Holodrum holds much for you other than me. I’ve said it before…Holodrum still is quite the mess that needs to be cleaned. Honestly, if I didn’t have Aiz by my side I don’t know how I would be able to do it…he…is my backbone, somebody I can truly count on no matter what….” Asthar could only say closing his eyes with a soft smile. He realized that he had probably been giving Aiz quite the tough time and revealing that he was in a relationship with Aryllia…well…it would cause a bit of problems, but regardless when they had time he was definitely going to make it up to her and let her relax.
Letting out another sigh the moment Aryllia begun to speak, a smile formed on the golden haired man as he reached forward and held her chin “I’m not going to call you a coward, not at all. Merely forcing yourself to accept all of this won’t make things better. There is nothing wrong with leaving, but eventually this is something you will have to face…you can’t run away from it…” Asthar said as he closed his eyes and lightly kissed her forehead before pulling back “Though I would like it if you joined me in Holodrum...What I truly desire and wish for is your freedom and happiness” Asthar said.
A king could not falter as it was simply something that could not be allowed. No matter how he felt and no matter what occurred he could not succumb. To succumb to a situation was to merely open up a chance to be taken advantage and even a small moment such as that could spell a person’s end. To stand strong and firm was the king’s duty. While the situation didn’t seem the greatest, it wasn’t to say Asthar was merely acting tough or composed but merely that was just how he was. Worrying or fearing would not help at all and all it did do was merely open himself up as prey.
“Ah, but my dear Eleazar, when there are those who desire to oppose and deny you…that is when is the best time to judge a person. To see how a person deals with such a thing, to deal with those in their way…truly this is the best way to judge a ruler. Of course this applies to all, from kings, tyrants, leaders and even rebels…” Asthar said closing his eyes as the shroud coating his began to slowly dissipate into a black mist that would soon fade away as well, returning back the Holodronian king back to his previous attire. “Although, there are quite a few exceptions to my words, but I digress…” Asthar said.
“You asked what I observed, correct? One who holds firm to his authority and he who strikes at the fears of those who oppose him…no…not strike…feed and release it...utilize it as your own weapon…” Asthar said opening his eyes with a smirk, his slit like eyes growing thin in response to his rising interest “but there is more I feel I have yet to see just yet…such opposites you and Zelda are…” Asthar said as then closed back his eyes and casually let out a deep relaxed sigh as he leaned back and rested his back on his chair “To beat the hero at his prime, to show the world that even then you cannot be defeated and to break their belief of ever hoping to defeat you…I can respect that in a way…” Asthar said resting his elbow on the arm rest while he rested his cheek on his knuckle as usual. “Whether Elinkar will be able to rise up once more or not…well…it depends purely on him and him alone. That lost courage can only be reclaimed by him after all and surely I cannot say if will reclaim it as I cannot even imagine the hell that he has been through” Asthar said opening his eyes softly.
From the topic of Elinkar it had then shifted from talks of the princess and her hero to that of the hero’s sister. Quite an important question was asked and with it Asthar needed to respond. “Is she important to me? …Why yes…she is quite important to me…I would appreciate it ever so much if you would release her…” Asthar said calmly as he opened his eyes and looked across the table at Eleazar. Whether it was a bluff or not did not matter to him and whether he knew the fact that she was important to him or not matter really, but Asthar did wonder what would happen next. This truly was quite the situation
To his left sat his good friend Perceus and right across from him was Artemis. To say the room was rather tense and somber was a bit of an understatement and being in this room was kind of a bummer. To put it lightly everything had fallen to shit and it truly was going to be quite the challenge to get out of that shit. How the Heroes of Hyrule went about their next step and what Labrynna did in regards to this was something critical and because of that it was key that they all had this meeting.
This truly was a meeting for those who held belief in the succession of Zelda, but in that case why was Asthar among all these monarchs and nobles? Could they really say that everyone in this room was in agreement on Zelda’s reign? It was not his place to say but regardless he was invited to this meeting and it was a chance to state his own insight as well as witness the insight of the other rulers and leaders as well.
Though the seriousness of the matter Asthar was smiling his usual calm and collected smile and sat calmly with crossed legs and his cheek resting upon his knuckle with eyes closed. “Unity…is that so…” Asthar let out softly letting out a small chuckle. “Ah, quite a difficult thing…” Asthar said before opening his eyes and glance over at those who gathered around the table. “Perhaps all of us here may come to an agreement and perhaps we may come with a plan, but can we truly say we have the people’s backing on all this?” Asthar said before closing his eyes calmly. “How will the people choose to react finding out that this malicious and divine threat was brought forth by the mere desire to save a fallen hero? In their eyes he was a meritless hero that was presented as a savior and perhaps even a form of hope, but in the end to them he ended up nothing more than a failure that failed his task and was stripped away of every divine grace he received” Asthar said bluntly. “If anything it may have them running off to the tyrant’s side…” Asthar said.
“A goddess that can freeze the time of the world and a tyrant that has a charisma and cunning that can woo the hearts of the people, quite the mess indeed…” Asthar said smirking. “it’s only a matter of time until Eleazar unleashes that power he received from the goddess, though the question is what exactly is that power he possesses…and what purpose do Majora and Eleazar have for each other…” Asthar mused. “As the pretty princess and her lovely grandmother have stated. Focusing and placing faith in a former hero that cannot even save himself is something ill advised. Perhaps he truly may save the world and end this conflict but it is his struggle that he must complete on his own. As such rushing in blind will get everyone killed so what is needed is merely intel…” Asthar said nonchalantly. Perhaps he wasn’t quite the most helpful, but even then despite being in this meeting his neutrality stood somewhat.
A man who claimed Hyrule and became its king yet did not flaunt the title of king and merely used his past no matter how some may look at such a title with scorn…it truly was a good answer. This whole audience truly was to really get to know who this tyrant was. How the man acted and how he carried himself were things that Asthar wished to know. Whether he got the truth or lies it didn’t really matter as there was more to it than just what is said. The way one acts and their mannerisms all mattered and Asthar did manage to witness how the tyrant acted to threats.
Asthar said his piece and allowed Eleazar to respond as well, not really answering the tyrant until he was done with his words. The tyrant did take notice of his friendship with Perseus however there really wasn’t much interest in such a thing as it merely went to the topic of how Eleazar defended himself over the assassination mission Percy took. “heh…naturally, a person must defend what belongs to them…otherwise it would just be a meaningless thing…” Asthar said calmly as the topic shifted.
While Asthar did not say anything he did watch Eleazar and listened to him speak on about his plans for Hyrule. The first two rules were quite fair and if anything they were quite noble, but Asthar did ponder a bit on the first one. For a man who cruelly seized what he desired, what exactly made it that women were an exception to this cruelty? Did the tyrant have a soft spot for women? Or rather in this case women that followed Eleazar? Asthar still remembered what Eleazar did to Aryllia and while his blood still boiled every time he thought of it, for what he desired he couldn’t get emotional nor personal.
His crimson eyes met Eleazar’s golden eyes and Walther couldn’t help but continue to smirk as he listened to the final rule. Another good rule to follow, but Asthar could already tell what the false king was implying with the last rule. Eleazar went on about how he was seeking a girl that was taken from her and he could tell he wasn’t quite pleased about it. Of course there was only one person that the king could have been talking about, it was clear as day and it wasn’t a question who he was talking about at this time. Whether it was a bluff or not was the real question.
In a way Asthar couldn’t deny he felt a bit uneasy after hearing about what had occurred, but his face was firm and resolute as he smiled and closed his eyes. “oh…is that so?” Asthar said as he suddenly rose his feet and suddenly placed on ontop the table while the other leg merely rested ontop the other as Asthar leaned back against his chair and rocked it slightly. “Come now, must you doubt me? Well…it is only reasonable to lack that trust, but even so…I have no intent to lie…spare any threats…” Asthar said as he took a sip of his wine casually. “My relations with Hyrule? It was nothing more than merely a friendship with the former princess…nothing more…” Asthar said smiling nonchalant. “Pure reliance in traditions of old…overabundant pride…stagnation…such things I cannot stand…it is as I said…I desire to see how Hyrule will turn out…the stagnation has been broken and I wish to see the result of it…” Asthar said.
A black mist began to coat Asthar’s body, swirling around almost as if it was some sort of clothing, yet the king did not react at all. “Eleazar…As I said before, you interest me…it was the very reason I chose to join Perseus in that so called assassination mission…” Asthar said as the black mist began to solidify, forming a yellow hooded cloak that coated his body. The very disguise he used on that mission now was being worn right before Eleazar. “I desired to see the regality of the tyrant first hand…to see if you were worth observing!” Asthar said, his eye glowing a crimson red from the shadow that his cloak caused over his face while a grin formed on his face as he lowered his feet from the table and continued to stare at Eleazar. He hadn’t expected to reveal his identity so early but Eleazar was not to be underestimated at all. “That girl you speak of…you see her as all these titles correct? Relative to the hero, sage, protector of the sacred realm…I don’t see her as any of that really…she is just a woman that had abandoned all those ties…” Asthar said closing his eyes with a childish grin “heh she is rather cute though” Asthar said playfully.
It truly felt nice to travel away from the castle, traveling about on horseback traversing to the Goron Mountains. While he did take the time to escape the confinements of the castle, this was quite the different feel. It wasn’t the first time he pretended to be a knight, but it was quite a nice feeling to take the role of something other than a king or the disguise of a rouge.
Hopping off his own horse and walking around with the group, Asthar’s eyes glanced around taking note of the surroundings in preparation for the battle. His eyes continued to look about, but he noticed a set of eyes glancing over at him and Asthar looked over at the familiar face. He was honestly quite surprised to see Artemis here of all places. Was Zelda really that worried about them that she didn’t believe that Holodrum could handle this problem? Perhaps this was something that merely perked Artemis’s interest? Regardless it was nice of the princess to send her brother to assist nonetheless. In a way things got a bit more interesting.
In response Asthar merely acted as the nervous knight and gave Artemis salute as he stood firm and straight before turning his attention back to the others about. The group was getting bigger and though he accepted there was a good chance some might not get out alive, Asthar was still willing to do his best to avoid that.
Standing alongside Hakuyu he relaxed a bit the moment he saw Hakuyu signal him to and he listened to his captain’s words. His fists clenched and raised to near shoulder level Asthar eagerly listened to the old Sheikah’s words and nodded in agreement with each word. Greatly skilled and knowledgeable as well, truly a good fit for his captain! They did not have much knowledge to go off due to how dangerous this beast was, but if they used whatever knowledge they had on combat it would be better that just rushing in blind.
It was time to wake up the beast. Just the way he said it and the way he walked on bravely, Asthar just watched with mouth agasp in admiration for the captain. The moment only lasted a quick moment as Asthar gave a nod and stood up straight giving him a salute. “y-yes sir!” Asthar said before drawing his sword and followed ready for the fight. He was excited, however to others this excitement perhaps looked more so like fear of a low class knight.
The sound of hoof galloping and then coming to a stop caught his ears and Asthar begun to opening his eyes and smirk as he narrowed his eyes and stared over at his guest as he walked towards him. While his guest’s outfit was perhaps not the most regal under the robe however his mannerism alone was pretty regal and Asthar really was not one to really speak much when it came to acting regally. His gaze looking upon Eleazar’s, Asthar merely continued to smile as he nodded in response.
“heh powerful king? Come now you’re making me blush now” Asthar said casually as he shook his head with a chuckle before placing his now empty glass upon the table before him and then proceeded to grab both Eleazar’s glass in wine bottle in the other. “…you, who had gathered the masses and managed to claim the mighty kingdom of Hyrule for yourself…have come referring to yourself as a mere banished prince…how interesting…” Asthar said softly as he begun to pour the wine into glass and placed the now full glass before Eleazar and then proceeded to pour himself a glass as well.
“…Holodrum has always been a kingdom that distanced itself from the other kingdoms. Ever since the time of my ancestor Nessa Holodrum has always been in conflict with Labrynna and because of Hyrule’s bond with Labrynna Hyrule has also been seen unfavorably by Holodrum. After so many years of it…well to simply put it everyone in Holodrum is tired of all the other shit and drama of Labrynna and Hyrule…” Asthar said as he took the first sip of wine, a mere example to show that the wine was not poisoned or anything.
“While yes, I have reconnected with the other kingdoms and formed a bond…it is a bond that merely ends the hostilities between the kingdoms” Asthar said closing his eyes as he rested his cheek on his knuckle and smiles a nonchalant smile “After everything that happened, with Galadhion and Seith...I doubt the people would want to involve themselves with any of the drama occurring…” Asthar said looking down at his glass calmly smiling as he moved his wrist, swirling around the liquid in the glass. “What is the point in fighting a fight most do not wish to fight? Why clean up others shit when you have your own shit to clean…Even I have my own…distaste of Hyrule…” Asthar said before taking a sip. Though he had said that Daphnes was a good friend of his…could he truly say that that was nothing more than something beyond a title he used?
“To be honest…I wish to observe the two of you…both you and Zelda. Two opposing ideals, two different ways to rule…I wish to observe who will be the rightful ruler…” Asthar said narrowing his eyes and smirked as he looked over at Eleazar “tell me, what your philosophy of ruling is? How do you think rulers should carry themselves?” Asthar said
She was getting flustered and it was actually quite adorable to watch. Teasing her might actually be quite fun and perhaps it was due to his flirtatious nature, but his pleasure at seeing her all flustered immediately shifted. His eyes widened as he was off guard and pulled in and immediately she suddenly embraced him tightly, leaving him completely flabbergasted at the sudden movement. He truly was not expecting it and his guard was completely shattered. As she held onto him his arms were spread out over her hovering right around her as he looked down at her completely dumbfounded. His faced was completely red while his eyes were wide and his mouth slightly opened in shock. He had only just gotten in a relationship and already he found it so difficult. His hands begun to shake a bit as they hovered over the girl, but eventually Asthar closed his eyes and let out a soft sigh and smiled before wrapping his own arms around her and hugged her back.
It was a warm feeling and it felt very nice hugging her like he did, but he couldn’t help but close his eyes and grin “hmmmm…..naaaaaaaaaaaaah I can’t promise that” Asthar said quite carefree and casually as he let out a chuckle. “If I see you in trouble then I am going to do whatever it takes to get you out of that trouble. That is all there is to it…” Asthar said before calmly stroking the back of her head gently. “Hey listen…I don’t want to be your hero or anything of the sort. If I have to be your hero then that means you’re in trouble…and I figure you feel the same about me…” Asthar said as he closed his eyes and hugged her more firmly, but not enough that it would suffocate her or cause discomfort. “Let’s just avoid getting in trouble to the best we can and if we do get into trouble let’s just support each other to overcome that trouble” Asthar said loosening his embrace on her a tad but still held onto her “So tell me, what do you plan on doing next? Will you stay with the heroes? Come with me to Holodrum? Or go your own path...we can always just forget about such thoughts and just enjoy the moment if you’d like…” Asthar said softly.
The sky was a bright blue color and resting center and high about was the sun that casted down its rays leaving a warmth over the plains of Holodrum. A cool breeze blew past the fields and with it the blades of grass gracefully waved and so too did the bangs of the young king’s hair. While the towns and workings of civilization were at an unrest with all that had occurred over the years it had seemed at the very least nature seemed to hold some form of serenity at the very least. A spot in the plains near the border of both Holodrum and Hyrule truly must have been suitable location for the talks between the two rulers of those lands.
In an area where beasts do not frequent was a huge canopy that was set filled and decorated with things only befitting of royalty. In the middle rested a table along with a glass and a bottle of wine. Two chairs rested across from each other however one was merely occupied by Asthar who merely sat upon the chair nonchalantly with his eyes closed while smiling as he enjoyed the gentle breeze. An invitation was issued out, one that was quite risky and some may even say insane, but Asthar needed to meet this man face to face. It was time to meet Eleazar face to face and who knew how that would go.
The invitation was rather a simple one, informing the tyrant of the location and time of the meeting along with the purpose of merely it being a request to merely converse with him. Who knew what the tyrant would do or how he’d act, but while Eleazar was a huge ass Asthar was kind of an ass as well so it kind of balanced itself out. Holodrum was neutral and did not really pay mind to the conflicts between Zelda and Eleazar’s forces.
While Asthar did get to see how Eleazar acted through Percy’s failed mission to kill the tyrant, but even then he couldn’t help but find interest in how the tyrant worked. While he was a tad disappointed that the tyrant could potentially end up as a mere puppet for the goddess, but it was far too early to judge.
With a glass of wine in hand, Asthar merely took a sip and rested his cheek on his knuckle and sat with eyes closed and a smirk on his face. Numerous guards were out and about the area ready to protect the king should things go south, but they were out of the way and would not intervene unless need be.
The Lynal, a terrible and fearsome beast that few would dare to even get anywhere near it. Sharp instincts with numerous experiences of battle and a sheer resistance to numerous forms of attack truly made such a beast something beyond that of a challenge. While that alone would cause one to be cautious, with it bathing in the light of the blood moon truly something needed to be done before casualties begun to occur.
Asthar couldn’t help but feel a bit intrigued at the call for warriors to challenge the beast. The young king always did have trouble sitting still and in this case it only made it more difficult to resist. His land was in trouble and his people were in danger, that alone was motivation enough to slay the beast, but it would be a lie to say that was the only reason Asthar wished to fight the Lynel. Call it selfish, but he did have his guilty pleasure in taking on challenges he could fight against. It wasn’t that he was merely discarding his duties, but if he merely sat around barking orders he’d never grow.
As those that chose to accept the mission gathered together Asthar stood among them with a bright and cheerful smile. Instead of the king of Holodrum what stood before them was merely a young man that merely looked like nothing more than a mere low ranking knight. His outfit was rather basic as it was merely a plain light armor covering his torso with a metal helmet over his head. The helmet over his head was a bit big for his head and as such the helmet covered the top of his head and concealed his eyes a bit, casting a shadow over the eyes making merely even more difficult to really even make him look like a generic grunt.
When the time came for the mission to start and the captain took the stage Asthar immediately stared on at the captain, his hidden eyes sparkling a tad as he watched Hakuyu and his mouth a tad opened awestruck as he listened to him speak. His reaction was reminiscent to that of a child who has just seen a superhero right in front of his eyes. Ever since he was a child he always did look up to the captain and even wanted to be just like him. Sure he was antisocial and quite rude, but that sort of added to the cool factor in the young Asthar’s eyes. He was calm headed and his skill with a katana was amazing. He always wanted to grow up just like him and even though in the end he turned out quite the opposite he still respected and admired the old man a huge deal. In this mission he didn’t have to act as king, but instead he was able to act as merely a man working under the command of somebody he respected. The demeanor of a king was unneeded in this mission.
With the command to move out having been let out Asthar quickly did as told and was able to find himself a horse to ride. It was the moment of truth and once they left there was no turning back until they at the very least came in contact with the Lynel. “S-sir!” Asthar called out formally as he suddenly sat upright and placed his hand in a salute “Upon coming into contact with the beast do we have a plan? Surely we’ll need a plan of action both for combat against the beast and in the chance that the beast ambushes us as well!” Asthar said, his voice holding a tad bit of nervousness that is common to a mere grunt.
Asthar couldn’t say he didn’t feel some form of nervous feeling deep within. He offered to aid her and to be with him. He had expressed what he truly felt for her and he wanted her to accept his offer, but there was always the option that she would turn him away. It was rare for the flirtatious king to truly get attached to anything in general, but for him to get attached to a girl so much, it was truly a shame if she refused his feeling.
Despite what he felt Asthar smiled on as he held out his hand for her to grab, but Asthar grew more tense the moment the girl moved. Looking down at his own hand he watched as Aryllia put her own hand in his palm. Feeling her soft hand in his own Asthar immediately looked up at the girl before him and immediately he saw it on her face.
After all the time he spent always telling the girl to smile, it happened so sudden. He always promised her that he would make her smile and now that it had finally happened it almost felt surreal. His eyes widened just a tad as he watched her smile. His mouth was a bit open, having attempted to say something but froze looking speechless. Upon his face a slight blush appeared on his face, albeit something hard to see. She truly was beautiful in his eyes.
The whole moment lasted barely seconds as Asthar’s eyes closed and a small but quiet chuckle escaped from his lips having composed himself much quicker than the last time. Placing his left arm behind his back Asthar suddenly dropped down to one knee with her hand still in his and eyes remaining closed. “Take your time…no matter how long it takes I will wait…milady…” Asthar said as he brought her hand to his lips as he gave the top of her hand a soft and gentle kiss before looking up to her “Whenever you want me, whenever you want to see my face or need my presence I will be around…I will always be here for you Aryll” Asthar said as he closed one eye and gave her a wink “Heh just know that you are stuck with me” Asthar said much more casual yet retaining his charm.
