His thoughts were jumbled, unable to think straight as he stood before the girl that had kissed him. He didn’t exactly know what to say to her and he still couldn’t believe that it even happened in the first place. He felt out of place a bit and while the kiss was amazing it was something he really wasn’t prepared for. A kiss to the hand sure and maybe a small peck on his cheek, but a full blown kiss like this was something he always prevented from occurring until now.
Asthar was unsure how really act from where he was. He was always the one to act first and now that was not the case he had no idea what to do now. He was completely flustered and his face was still a bit red, but he immediately noticed the girl begin to speak and Asthar took a deep sigh. “You idiot…” Asthar said softly as he came to a pause. As he gathered his thoughts and calmed his mind Asthar’s eyes closed and a smirk formed on his face. “Being kissed by a beauty of a woman...of course it is ok!” Asthar said as he turned to face her and grinned “I take that kind of surprise without a single complaint!” Asthar said cheerfully.
Opening his eyes Asthar couldn’t help but keep on smiling, albeit it was a much calmer smile in opposed to the energetic one a moment ago. “To cast away one’s pain, to devoid oneself of pleasure and sadness…it relieves one’s self of any burden they may feel and allows them to survive this cruel world…but that is no way to live. It is an empty life doomed to nothingness…a stagnant life that will never grow. Though we may grieve, though we may feel rage…it is merely a part of living…to laugh, to cry, and even to love…that is what it is to live and though it may be hard, it gives us purpose…” Asthar said. His face was almost serene in a way as he merely spoke softly with a gentle smile on his face.
Though it was the middle of the night without the radiance of the sun the forest was still illuminated. Fireflies and sprites dancing about like little orbs all about and the illuminating moon over head. Ruby like eyes stared at her as Asthar calmly raised his hand and held it out to her, opening his palm and held it out for her to either accept or deny. “No matter what, I desire to keep you safe and rid you of this pain…I want you to smile. I want to walk alongside you as you enjoy life. It may be a long path, but no matter how long I am willing to go that distance” Asthar said softly as he smiled a warm smile “so tell, do you desire to walk alongside me?” Asthar said.
It was true that Asthar had numerous women that he could have chosen to entrust his heart to. Numerous women were more than willing to accept his heart and become the woman of his heart, but Asthar had never truly met a woman he was willing to give his heart to. Most women always looked at him a cared for him merely because of his looks and charms rather than who he was. It wasn’t a bad thing in Asthar’s eyes but at the same time if he was to love somebody it would be for somebody who would love him back for who he was. Though he flirted with countless women never once did Asthar truly get intimate with any of them. Charming their hearts was all that really was there and Asthar in a way was fine with that. The thought of having somebody to truly love seemed something that wasn’t going to happen in Asthar’s mind, but that had changed.
He loved Aryllia, he had fallen for her and wanted to help her out desperately. She cared for him and it wasn’t just because he was some king of sorts. Being with her always made him happy even if she refused the feeling of happiness. Asthar truly wanted a woman that would love him back, but if it meant that he had to give up a chance with her to make her happy it would be a choice he would take. His own mind was jumbled in a sense. He himself did not really realize the feeling was love up until recently when he spoke more so out of emotion than with rational thinking.
His eyes remained closed and because of it he did not notice the girl coming closer to him. He felt the sudden grab of his shirt and before he could even open his eyes he was pulled down as his lips made contact with hers. Upon the contact Asthar’s eyes widened in complete shock as he looked down at the girl. He truly did not really know what to expect from the conversation but this was definitely not the result he truly expected.
With her soft lips against his Asthar closed his own eyes and eased into the kiss, wrapping one arm around her while avoiding her injured arm. Having her like this truly enforced his desire to make sure she could truly smile happily and contently. He would do whatever it took to make it happen. He couldn’t tell how much time had passed as he didn’t even care, but eventually he released her and pulled away, taking a step back and stared at her.
His mind was a mess, he could not just believe that happened and his face turned red. He wanted to make a charming quip like he usually did but the words didn’t come out of his mouth as he stood there still shocked before he looked to the side timidly and looked downwards, placing the tips of his index fingertips together and pushed them in and out “W….well then…that was….truly amazing…” Asthar said bashfully.
Once again she chose to reject herself. She chose to reject her happiness because she felt that she did not deserve it. The arms that he had outstretched were put down and the smile he had on his face faded away as he watched the girl and listened to her as she rejected him as well and tried to get away from him. “THAT’S ENOUGH!” Asthar suddenly yelled closing his eyes and clenching his teeth in sheer irritation as he suddenly rose to his feet and stood up facing the girl.
Eyes opened up and narrowed as his slit like pupils grew thin as he stared at her with his red eyes. What was usually a more casual look on his face was one that seemed to be replaced by far more serious one. “Just stop it! Stop doing this to yourself! I’ve had enough of this! Constantly putting yourself down, believing that you do not deserve to be around anybody you care about…The only person that is preventing you from feeling happiness is yourself! Nobody else!” Asthar said fiercely as he begun to walk forward straight at the girl.
She was struggling and confused on what to do next. He knew she didn’t want to leave, but she felt she had to. Aryllia had been through a huge amount and it was understandable that she would feel that way but he could not leave it like this. “You think I am afraid of placing my life at stake? My life has been under threat ever since I was born! I told you to deny you will find happiness all you want, but I will not allow it when it makes you suffer like this!” Asthar said stopping in front of her and looked down at her. “Denying one’s self of happiness...growing colder and colder as time moves on…I’ve seen it happen with my own eyes and I won’t let the same thing that happened to that woman happen to you! I will not allow you end up just like my mother!” Asthar said narrowing his eyes gritting his teeth almost in pain before closing his eyes and let out a sigh. All the feelings he had were swirling out. He hated expressing it all at once and to refer to his past but it had gotten to the point that he wanted to say everything so that Aryllia would not leave. He desired to let out his feelings and the very feeling he had about her.
“You say you can’t love me? Then that’s fine…but even so I will just continue loving you until you can finally love yourself!”
With how vague he was it was not a surprise that Aryllia would have been a bit curious about who this woman was, but Asthar didn’t really feel like going into that quite deeply just yet. “ah…she was...killed…” Asthar said softly looking to the side in response to what she said. Despite all that he spoke of that woman and her smile, her most memorable one was the last she gave him. Those tear filled face with a smile as big as ever, he could not forget that face and though it was merely a smile that was supposed to tell him everything was going to be alright in the end all it really did was just tell him a sorrowful goodbye.
Asthar listened to the girl reject his claims about what a king had to do and he crossed his arms calmly as he stared at her. “…you’re right…but you misunderstand…” Asthar said closing his eyes. “All my sorrows and grief…I truly never got the chance to express it…no one to truly share it with…had I shed those sorrows it would have weakened my resolve” Asthar said as he tapped his head with one finger. “Instead I used it…I used it to push forward and to strengthen my resolve so that that sorrow will never occur again. I merely release in other ways” Asthar said.
Her outburst about having nothing that would make her caused him to open his eyes and look at her. He didn’t know what it was, but just listening to her completely say that there wasn’t anything that made her smile was something that bugged him much more that it truly should have. When she finished her words there was merely no response as the area merely grew silent. Asthar’s own eyes looking forward instead of at the girl and in that moment that moment Asthar merely took a seat beside her with one leg outstretched forward while the other was bent up with his arm resting on the up risen knee.
There was silence, but then Asthar merely closed his eyes and chuckled softly. “Ah, so my safety is the closest thing to happiness to you? Ah dare I say you are starting to fall for me?” Asthar said raising a hand to his hair as he brushed away the bangs from his face as he looked over at her with a soft smile “I’m sure you must know that I am far too stubborn so go ahead! Deny that you’ll find happiness, mope and weep if you desire it…but I’ll always be by your side to prove you’re wrong…” Asthar said as his smile grew soft “It will take a while but I am patient… you control your life…not Eleazar or anybody else…” Asthar said as he spread out his arms with a happy grin “and if you ever need a hug feel free!” Asthar said.
Asthar listened to the words of Aryllia, he listened to each word and listened to how she questioned why he was so happy all the time even after having gone through such a life threatening moment. In response Asthar let out a mere soft sigh as he closed his eyes calmly, the cheerful smile on his face lowered a tad to a more calm smile. “Long ago...I knew a woman that was very close to me…one that will always have a place in my heart. A compassionate and wonderful woman who’s smile was filled with kindness and warmth. I loved that smile..it was a smile that I would always see that would always fill me with joy…” Asthar said as the smile on his face begun to slowly turn more solemn. “As time move on that smile begun to fade…replaced with a cold visage... I missed those smiles and so I did whatever I could…” Asthar said bashfully beginning to rub the back of his head “heh I did whatever I could to get her to smile…grab her flowers and gifts or just doing something stupid…if I got a smile then that was a victory in itself…” Asthar said.
“A smile can be a powerful thing, it motivates and inspires others. This title I bear, the title of king, if the king falters, cries or even grieves then what of the people? A ruler must be strong and firm, to lead and inspire his or her people. A king must be selfish, but selfless at the same…to be able to connect with their people and to motivate them forward…to not only have them follow you but to also share your ideals…As such a ruler does not have the luxuries to allow their weakness to show…otherwise their end is certain…” Asthar said calm and serious. The numerous times he desired to wallow away, to grieve and cry out, but in the world he was born into he barely had the chance to do such things. Truly he would have been broken if he didn’t push himself further and accepted all that was bad as a challenge.
“…Though it isn’t to say that I felt nothing during that mission. During that time I felt fear…not of that bastard Eleazar…fear that I would lose you…er…and Perseus….and I guess Gael too… I also felt rage everytime I saw you get hurt both physically and mentally…er and I guess when Percy got stabbed…I guess…” Asthar said rubbing the back of his neck as he spoke “but I smile now because we are still alive, we have a chance to live and to express whatever we desire” Asthar said. With that said Asthar eyes opened once more and reaching in he gently held the girl’s chin and smiled at her softly. “heh I always tend to ramble that it’s a bad trait…in the end just want to say that being around you just makes me smile as well…its simple as that really” Asthar said closing his eyes with his cheerful smile once more.
No matter how many times he complemented the girl it always tended to end with her denying his words and acting almost as if she is some hideous woman hiding under a hood. While that may have been an exaggeration it still was a shame to see the girl not appreciate herself. In a way it made him want to praise her even more, to make her realize she actually is pretty. People called him a flirt and they wouldn’t be wrong to call him that, but all he really desired was to see a woman smile. In a way it brought a smile to his own face, but Aryllia was going to be a tricky one to get a smile. He had met numerous women and even wooed their hearts, but he had never really gotten serious with any of them. So why exactly was it that he was so into trying to get this one girl to smile?
His words were met with a loud yell of irritation and in that moment the smile on Asthar’s face slowly faded and his face turned calm as he stared at the girl as she sat and curled up into her knees. Listening to her apology Asthar calmly closed his eyes and pushed himself off the tree branch, gracefully descending down as his feet landed on the ground, albeit Asthar did cringe a bit due to his wounds. Walking forward he came to a halt as he stood right beside the girl and merely crossed his arms as he stared out forward.
“Its fine, you don’t have to apologize…” Asthar said coolly as he just looked forward at the lake. “..Perhaps…it is just because you are afraid…” Asthar said without even looking at her. “All that guilt you feel…the pain of losing your brother…of course situations like that is going to eat at somebody. You’re scared of losing anybody else that you care about and would rather not go through that pain…so you push yourself away…you don’t want to get close to anybody…at least that is what I believe…” Asthar said before unfolding his arms and placed one hand on his waist. “And so with everything that has happened…it’s only natural to be confused” Asthar said. All he said was merely the results of his observation of the girl. He had worked alongside the girl for a good amount of time and he was able to see a different side to her. The recent mission was something that allowed him to see even more of her.
Footsteps grew closer to the girl as Asthar stood close to the girl’s side. Bending down he looked at the girl with his face quite close to the girl buried face. “Perhaps I am overthinking this but I just wanted to let you know that you’re stuck with me until I accomplish my goal…” Asthar said closing his eyes with a bright grin. The very same goal that he had told Aryllia numerous times was something he would not stop to complete. He was going to make her smile and not just any ordinary smile but a pure and genuine smile. That was a friend’s duty after all…
The mission was over and it was finally time for them to rest. Whether this mission was a success or a complete failure was something that varied from different eyes. In the eyes of Asthar this mission was barely a success as they had come out with more that they had gone in with as well as the fact that they all managed to make it out alive. They knew just who exactly the mastermind was and in a way he also could see Eleazar’s personality first hand. In a way it was kind of disappointing to see Eleazar being strung as a puppet to the goddess, but it was too early to judge. The biggest success was reclaiming the so called hero, but even then that was merely give as mere charity by the enemy, as if they were throwing what they thought was garbage.
Truly things went alright, but it did not feel that way at all. He did not feel as pleased as he should have been and if anything there all sorts of negative feelings. His allies were all hurt, either physically, mentally or just both. They definitely had a long road ahead of them and how they dealt with all this was something he didn’t really know how to deal with just yet.
With the rest of his friends they had eventually made it back to the hideout, his disguise having been removed now that its use was over with. At the very least he desired to keep the disguise a secret but at the same time not that much effort was placed into hiding his identity unless it was with those he could not trust.
After getting the numerous cuts on his body treated all that was left was for him to sleep. He had been given his own space to sleep, but such a space was unneeded for him. The outdoors was good enough for him. It wasn’t often that he was able to really sleep outside due to his status and in a way the outdoors brought him a little peace and change of pace. Whilst everybody had gone to their spot to sleep Asthar had already gone off and found himself resting upon a thick tree branch, his back resting against the tree as he sat on the branch with arms crossed casually and eyes closed. It was a good enough place to sleep, but the sound of rustling had caught his ear as he noticed a familiar and pleasing sight as he looked down from where he sat.
“Ah, a pretty lady such as yourself should not be all alone out here” Asthar called out as he sat up straight crossing his legs and resting his chin in the palm of his hand as he looked down at the girl that caught his eye. With the dazzling water and shine of the orbs of light floating about truly it made the girl seem so radiant. Looking down upon the girl with his red eyes Asthar smiled softly as he stared at her before closing his eyes with a wide cheerful smile. “Mind if I keep you company?” Asthar said.
It was always good for people to relax, to get the stress of life away even for a single moment. If one were to keep the stress built up in one’s self it was only a matter of time until that stress began to devour them. Perhaps this whole trip was merely to relieve their stress or maybe this trip was merely a wacky adventure that Asthar had come up with, but regardless what mattered was that all of them had finally come together to relax just for a moment before they went off against their enemy once more.
A place away from the enemy and somewhere nice and relaxing, that was something Asthar put a lot of thought into and came upon the answer to. The Crescent Islands were truly the perfect place for them to relax and with it Asthar had everything in place. Of course having planned everything he and his crew had already arrived first and all that was left was merely to wait for the others to arrive before the fun would truly begin.
Aizen and Hakuyu were along with him and Asthar was immensely thrilled that they had come along with him as well. The two were sheikah that worked under him, but Asthar never really saw them as such. He had known the two for quite the long time and in a way he always saw the two as his own family whether or not they felt the same way or not. It was something that Asthar never really expressed much, but at the same time wasn’t something that he felt needed to be expressed. All that was needed to know was that he was close to his the hand of the king and the commander. Now the only problem was for them to loosen up.
Aizen was complaining once more on why she was here, but Asthar truly wanted her to be here and took no for an answer. Looking over at her he closed his eyes with a childish grin “Come now Aiz, It will be fine. I want the two of you to have fun and it would sadden me if you didn’t. I know it’s going to get…uncomfortable…but please try and bear it and just focus on enjoying yourself” Asthar said before glancing over at Aryllia and closed his own eyes again “We’ll have some fun as well” Asthar said with a bright cheerful smile.
Asthar’s eyes closed calmly as the words that Aryllia spoke were heard by him. She held guilt about what happened during the war and at the same time lost hope for the world as well. It was reasonable for her to believe such a thing as losing a brother was a terrible thing, but Asthar could not accept her words. It wasn’t just about being optimistic nor was it about being pessimistic; it was just something he could not accept. “Ah...is that so?” Asthar said as he glanced down at her calmly.
“Are you calling yourself useless? Is that what you truly wish to see yourself as? Then you don’t need me to tell you that you are allowed to see yourself however you wish…but I will not agree with that notion” Asthar said before crossing his arms. “Tell me, what do you think of those alchemists and their families? From what I told you I merely said that we were collecting treasure and nothing more, but the moment you saw them, you desired to help them…and we did. Because of you we were able to not only get them out safe and sound, but we prevented the culprits to claim any more victims as well.” Asthar said before closing his eyes once more
“Tell me how do you value the lives of those alchemists and their families? Of course if you compare them to the numerous beings that live on these lands a mere 10 people would seem insignificant right? But merely 10 people can change the world…each life has its own story and numerous years of experience. To end a single life is to end that story…that potential…take pride in what you’ve done! You saved those people and they will be able to continue their story…you’ve lost somebody precious to you because of your inexperience? Then don’t merely give up and instead learn from it so it will never happen again…” Asthar said looking up at the blue skies that were covered a bit by the tree branches over them. “Whether the gods intervene or not…I will do what I must…we mortals…we decide our fate even if we have to fight and sacrifice for it…” Asthar said narrowing his eyes before suddenly looking back down at her before closing his eyes and shaking his head with a small chuckle. “heh…though I am babbling on…Im sorry…” Asthar said
Lowering down his hands from his folded stance Asthar looked down at her as he looked down at her eyes once more “Don’t get me wrong I know you are strong and I know you can handle yourself, but being alone is a terrible thing and so long as I’m around I be there for you so you don’t have to feel that loneliness…” Asthar said closing his eyes as he tilted his head slightly and smiled and warm smile “What I want is to see you smile” Asthar said.
It was reasonable that Aryllia had numerous questions about all that had happened, but the place they were in was not the best time for talking. Asthar wanted to reveal himself after all this was over and at the very least try and give a better explanation, but that went awry. It couldn’t be helped and so long as the mission was a success and they got out unharmed and well then that was all that really mattered. There were no words to that were shared between the two of them and Asthar felt to merely leave her be until he had the chance to explain everything.
The moment they reached back up with the alchemists things were different as they did not look at Asthar with fear, but instead they looked at him joyfully, crying tears of joy that they were saved by their king. Reuniting them with their families they were let out and together he walked with Aryllia out into the forests. The Holodrum knights were waiting for signs of the alchemist so Asthar was not worried about the alchemists as once the alchemist got out they were in the knight’s care. With that over all that was left was for the knights to clean up and deal with the remaining bandits. The rest of the mission was in good hands and with that Aryllia and Asthar’s job was done.
A deep sigh was released as he plopped down and sat on the ground, leaning against a tree as he sat and smiled as he looked at Aryllia before closing his eyes. “I’ve…been keeping an eye on you and your actions…” Asthar said calmly before letting out a sigh “You are right though, with everything that has happened I haven’t done much to help. Holodrum…it’s a mess, has always been one and one that I cannot clean easily. Distrust and corruption…I’ve been trying get rid of it all and I’ve been making progress…but then that charismatic bastard Eleazar…ever since he gained control of Hyrule it just motivated people into following their selfish desires” Asthar said as he rubbed his temples “it has been a pain in the ass is what it has been…” Asthar said
His eyes opened but he looked down with a small soft smile. “…but…I can blame Holodrum all I want, but the decision to remain neutral….belongs to me. In the end this is Zelda’s fight, Zelda’s battle to win…I’ve given her aid and supplies, but…in the end it is all up to her…” Asthar said before looking up at her “You asked me why I chose you, correct?” Asthar said before tilting his head slightly and gave her a warm smile. “There are numerous reasons really. You are one I trust, both in your skill and your character…you are strong and determined and whether you believe it or not…you are a noble person…” Asthar said before getting up onto his feet once more and stood in front of her and looked down at her into her eyes. “You’ve said I’ve stopped keep contact correct? Well how about you? You’ve grown more distant from everybody…You’re my friend and so…my main reason for choosing you is so I can prevent you from being alone…I won’t allow that…” Asthar said closing his eyes with a smile “A pretty girl like you doesn’t deserve that” Asthar said
Pummeled and unable to move in the slightest against the young girl’s attacks the boss was helpless against the attack and then he was knocked into the wall with immense power. Fallen and driven mad with the power he consumed, the boss remained in the wall, silent after the blow. It had seemed like it was over, that there was no more, but the boss was far from done. He refused to let it end like this, he refused to be out done. He placed all his power into being able to move, it was his final gambit. With a loud roar the boss lunged forward, his muscles had grown to monstrous levels and his body was twitching due to instability, but even then he lunged at Aryllia like a gigantic boulder against a tiny ant.
The boss laughed, he laughed as he charged at the girl, but it all came to a halt and his eye widened in disbelief. A blade of darkness sliced through the air and immediately hit the chest of the boss causing his body to twist and distort even more. Despite the excruciating pain he was feeling the boss merely stared at the culprit who swung the final blow.
“I will say the same thing…if you dare try to harm her again…I will kill you… she is a precious friend after all…” Asthar said panting hard as he used the opposite facing wall as support. Whether or not the girl could have dealt with the behemoth of a man charging at her, he couldn’t just stand back and do nothing. He pushed his body to act and with that he was able to release his Hollow Blade. Golden long hair began to fall downward covering his face and Asthar looked up at both Aryllia and the boss with his crimson eyes. The cloak that had been cast aflame had been discarded to the side and the king of Holodrum had finally revealed himself.
All forms of feeling swelled up in the boss, feelings of sheer anger and rage the moment he saw Asthar’s face. “You…NO! I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS! HOW DARE YOU! YOU BASTARD! ASTHAAAAAAAAR! I’LL GET YOU BACK FOR THIS! FOR THE HUMILIATION I FELT AT YOUR BLADE IN HOLODRUM! FOR THE EYE THAT YOU STOLE FROM ME! I’LL KILL YOU! I’LL…” The boss yelled but then stopped as his body couldn’t handle any more and fell back. Now having fallen down without any energy left all the boss could do was lay there muttering profanities about Asthar. All his e
It was over, their task of beating the boss was at an end and Asthar fell to one knee weary from the blow he took. Despite his fatigue he glanced up at Aryllia and closed his eyes with a soft smile “Its been a while Aryll…” Asthar said finally able to speak to her as Asthar and not the rouge. "Lets…get those alchemists and their families out of here…" Asthar said trying to get up fully, staggering a bit as he did so
Perhaps Asthar was mostly focused on what the boss bandit had to say, but Asthar did hear the words that were uttered by his companion and all he could do was just accept them. He could see why she thought that of him and he wouldn’t really defend himself. The main reason was because he was in disguise, but the second was mostly because he had to agree somewhat. He did whatever he could for his kingdom and the mess his father and forefathers left him was huge, but with all the chaos that was happening in Hyrule he did nothing but remain neutral, or at least try. He couldn’t ignore the plight of his friends and their noble quest, but even then there was something that he wished to do. There was a group, a group he disliked with his entire being. Asthar wanted to crush that group with his own two hands.
With the fight having started, Asthar really didn’t have time to think as he quickly begun to clash blades with the man, moving and dodging about as the man fought. He kept the man’s attention on him while Aryllia moved about trying to attack, but something was odd. His movements were much stronger than the last time they fought albeit more slow yet frantic. Keeping up with the defense Asthar’s eyes widened the moment he heard Aryllia’s voice and quickly jumped away as the man came tumbling down.
“No, I can’t I WILL NOT BE HUMILIATED BY A BUNCH OF BRATS!” The boss yelled out in anger as he laid there in anger. Through sheer will the man reached in his pocket and pulled out a huge pouch and brought it to his mouth.
“…what is he…Shit! stop him!” Asthar said quickly running towards the boss opened his mouth and began to empty the contents of the pouch into his mouth. Tiny shards of gold began to fall into his mouth and the boss swallowed them all. Asthar immediately jumped back as the man began to get up, magic swelling up inside him as his body began to distort and his muscles began to grow and bulge. “EHEHEH I’LL KILL YOU ALL!” the boss yelled out as he looked over at the two and grinned as he opened his mouth and fired a stream of fire from his mouth at Asthar. In an attempt to defend himself Asthar quicky held his cloak and covered his entire body with it. While Asthar’s cloak was made up of the finest materials and provided some protection from the flames, the cloak caught on fire as Asthar was knocked back by the attack and crashed into a wall. He rose to his feet, but his mind was in a bit of a daze, the flames on his cloak still burning and trying to burn through the cloak.
A sigh of relief was let out as Asthar watched Aryllia begin to speak to the alchemist and was able to gain their trust. In that regard things would be much easier for them when they needed to get the victims out, but Asthar did take notice to how Aryll reacted to his complement and it made him smile a bit. Despite how stoic she was she was still quite adorable and Asthar did like bring out the cute side of her even if he wasn’t trying. All his complements to her were genuine and it made Asthar realize that she wasn’t used to such complements.
All that could wait for the moment as both the two were going to end up at the decisive moment that would decide the mission and whether they would be able to walk out or not. Standing by Aryllia’s side Asthar smirked once she asked if he was ready. “Heh…Of course” Asthar said as he walked alongside the girl’s side down the dim hallway. Glancing around and keeping his eyes sharp, eventually the two reached the door and glancing over at Aryll he gave her a nod to confirm he was ready.
The moment the door opened Asthar quietly walked in along with the girl and stepped into the room. The room was huge and littered with items all around. There were numerous expensive items all over the place and it was obvious they were all looted items. Varrious weapons were also around here and there, but noticeably there was a large desk and standing in front of the desk was a huge muscular man, towering over Asthar and Aryll. His back was facing them, not having turned to look at who entered despite the sound of the door opening.
“Status report…did you find the intruders?” the large man said with a booming voice as he stood there looking at a diagram on the wall before him with his arms crossed.
Asthar knew this man, he had fought against this man once before and to his displeasure this very man managed to slip away from him before. Sneaking up on him and taking him out would not work, Asthar knew this and so he unsheathed his sword and immediately dashed at the man. The very moment Asthar reached close he did not swing his sword but instead he rose the blade up horizontally as the huge man immediately turned around and swung his own sword downwards. With a mighty clang the two blades clashed and Asthar held his ground as the man tried to overpower him. “Heh…sorry I think your men are a bit preoccupied…” Asthar said before immediately jumping back breaking the clash and stood beside Aryllia with his blade still drawn.
The apparent boss looked over at them with his own sword drawn and gripped his sword tightly. The man held numerous scars however the most prominent thing about this man was that he had an eyepatch over his right eye. “Oh? A mere scrawny boy and girl? Such insolence! What are you here for? Treasure?” the boss began to say and then laughed “HAH, your greed sent you to your death then! To even think of stealing from the greatest bandit and his gang is a crime worthy of execution!” the boss said laughing.
“Geez…still as loud as ever…” Asthar mumbled under his breath before sighing “what the hell are you blabbering about? Greatest bandit my ass! You honestly think those shards are going to continue to work? Yeah sure some idiots will buy into it at first but even then those idiots will wise up and not buy your crap” Asthar said
“By then it will be already enough!” The boss said while Asthar raised an eyebrow in confusion. “By that time…I’ll have enough funds, enough men! Hehe…hahahahaha! I’ll work my way up! Things are changing and these lands belong to bastards like us! I’m sure you’ve seen what has happened to Hyrule right! Such a grand kingdom like that falling to a bastard like Eleazar! Hahahah! Holodrum is next! Me and my men will do the same and claim that kingdom…but ohoho no! I will not be like Eleazar! I’m going to do what he didn’t! I’m going to make sure that king is dead! That bastard Asthar…I’m going to make him beg for salvation and then rip his goddamn head and stick it on a pike for all to see! Holodrum is going to be MINE!” The boss yelled.
“Yeah…I really didn’t ask for your lifestory…” Asthar grumbled with a deadpan stare as he watched the boss blab on.
“Both your heads will be prime examples not to mess with me!” The boss said prepping himself to charge forward.
With that Asthar quickly prepped himself as well “Get ready…this is going to be a little tough but we'll be able to finish this in a snap if we work together” Asthar said as he rash forward and begun to clash swords with the boss once more.
This was where the real mission truly begun, the real reason he brought himself over to this fortress and in the heart of the enemy. Merely bringing in knights would have just alerted the bandits and if they lost them then it would have just been another attempt of chasing them around. It was already hard enough to track them down and Asthar was not going to let them get away. The sheikah of his group were busy as it is at Holodrum and Asthar always did have a distaste of merely leaving tasks to others while he merely stood behind. He and Aryll were enough, that was what he believed and that what he continued to believe even now when they were at a very tricky situation.
He had expected her to snap at him possibly because of having held on to her, but did not happen. Her fist was holding his shirt tightly and it was clear that what she saw affected her greatly. She held the same feeling he did and if anything her feeling on the matter were much stronger than his. The feeling of hate for those bandits and the sympathy for the victims, that was what was going to push them through this mission. Asthar closed his eyes and let out a sigh, but he then suddenly raised his hand and gently placed it on top the girls head before opening his eyes once more and looked down at her with a soft yet comforting smile “Im glad…I was hoping you’d say that…” Asthar said softly before glancing over at the door. “We’ll free those that were captured and those bandits will pay dearly…” Asthar said before reaching out for the doorknob and took hold of it. “If we want to prevent all this from happening…we need to get rid of the boss…without him they will be in disarray…like chickens with their heads cut off…only then will it be easier to deal with the rest...but our main focus will be getting those prisoners out safe and sound…after that we can draw out the boss…” Asthar said as he looked through the keyhole.
“Alright…there is only one bandit down here…” Asthar said twist the knob slowly. “The door is open…once I open this door I’ll take out the bandit and we’ll search for any prisoners…” Asthar said. Taking a deep breath Asthar immediately twisted the doorknob the moment he realized the bandit had his attention elsewhere and then dashed out. Gripping the blade resting on his side Asthar quickly drew it out, but quickly trusted the bottom of his blade’s handle and smashed it on the back of the bandit’s head knocking him out without a sound. Letting out a sigh of relief Asthar glanced over at three scrawny individuals, all alchemist that stared over at the cloaked Asthar in fright. “Hey there, we are here to rescue you” Asthar said with a smile as he looked over at the alchemists only for the three to back up into a corner holding each other in fright. “e-er…hmm…they don’t believe me…” Asthar said. It was reasonable in a way for them to be frightened. With what they went through and the fact that Asthar looked more like a rouge than a noble king it was hard for them to even believe his words. “Hm…hey…Aryll…” Asthar begun to say as he ran up to the girl’s side “Say, why don’t you try and ease them into trusting us and get some more info…after all, who better to do so than a beautiful maiden” Asthar said smoothly at the last bit as he walked off a bit looking around the area. The basement was lit with a few torched and though it was pretty dark it was good enough to see with, looking to have been an old dungeon of some sorts. The basement seemingly looked to extend down a long tunnel and if Asthar had to guess it seemed that maybe the families of the alchemist may be deep in there. With all this going on Asthar didn’t even take mind of the mountain of gold nearby in sight.
