Saturated sunrise doesn't seem as bright
[attr=class, bulk] A flurry of snow began to fall on the western cliff face of Death Mountain, gliding gently to the ground where it collected in soft drifts. One such snowflake sailed slowly down a cool breeze of air before colliding into the nose of one Lae Lantana, new hobbyist mountain climber. The fairy wriggled her nose and stuck out her tongue unhappily, mentally chastising the powder for bumping into her so rudely. Snowflake were not unlike her little fairies, she thought, light colored balls of reflective light who meandered through the air and often ran into things. Yet her children were usually more considerate than this impolite snowfall. Lae attempted to adjust her pink woolen hat with a decorative poofball, but found it difficult in her large plush mitten. She was dressed to the nines in winterwear that seemed to render her almost immobile. While she was in no danger of falling ill in the cold climate, her trek up the mountain was her first real experience with snow and she was terribly unused to the cold. Or more accurately, it had been her first experience when she started her hike. By now it was more like her tenth or eleventh and she found the novelty to be quietly fading. Even under her dozens of layers, she still shivered and fidgeted uncomfortably. [break][break]
As she stood trying to get a grip on her headwear, she felt something rub against her leg. She looked down to see a fluffy snowcoated fox staring up at her. Sensing she was a being of magic, it was common for flora and fauna of all things to approach her as she made her way through their homes. This creature must have noticed her from its den nearby and lets its curiosity get the better of her. Law bent down with some difficulty and addressed the son boy. ”Now, now you should know better.” She waved a mitten-coated finger at him disapprovingly which he watched, wondering if it was some kind of bird. ”It is ok if you want to say hello but you must introduce yourself before you go thumping into people’s legs. What if you had startled me?” He sat patiently understanding her tone but not her words. She changed into a smile and greeted him properly, ”Hello, it is nice to meet you, small fox. I am Lae Lantana. I’m a fairy from the Skull Woods but do not tell anyone that I am taking a bit of a vacation.” She nodded her head slowly until he mimicked her, unknowingly agreeing to collusion and secrecy. The fox butting into her leg again, drawing her attention just in time to see a snowflake land on his nose. He merely licked his nose without really noticing. ”That’s a good idea.” Law looked upwards, sticking out her tongue and moving strategically until she was able to catch a snowflake. She turned back to her new friend, pointing at herself to show him what she'd done. She stared back at her blankly. [break][break]
She stood back up, hyping herself up to take another wide step forward before noticing light peeking over the ledge above her. The rays of sunshine refracted through the hanging icicles, painting pastel rainbows on the snow. The colors shifted and danced as the snowfall continued to fly through the air and the sun continued to rise. Lae paused to appreciate the view. Perhaps she was being too harsh on the weather. She needed much more time to grow accustomed to the chill, but it did still have its charms. Even after some very tiring days, the mountain was still beautiful. She could track all of the unique circumstances and factors that lead to such a sight and yet the delicate artistry was incalculable. Without looking away from the sky, she told her friend that ”You have a very lovely home.” She stayed content just to stay in this moment just a little longer before hefting her backpack more comfortably onto her shoulders and pressing on to see what else she may find ahead.
Say what you wanna do. A long time ago in a far off land, a princess joined forces with a powerful Goddess against a great terror that threatened the world. Together, they concocted a plan to seal the monster away in a new world as the princess searched tirelessly to find the beast’s end. The Goddess, striped of her divinity, remained forsaken in the dark parallel until the calamity broke free once again. And that's how Great Fairies are made! Lae Lantana came into being much around the same time Lorule did. She spent her first several centuries as most magical beings did: attending to their ministrations, guarding over their province and dominions and watching civilization develop. She was accompanied by the variety of forest life and the array of small fairies that sprouted off from her magic. Deep in the Skull Woods, she was largely isolated from society; only observing most notable events from a distance without involvement, save for the occasional visit to her fountain by other in search of blessings. And so she lived an ethereal timelessness, incomprehensible to mortals, simply serving her purpose to the Goddess. Until she was chanced upon by a lone, wandering soul. [break][break]
Make it all come true. Sorrowful and despondent, a young girl lost her way in the Skull woods. Even as she knelt before a mysterious, flowing fountain, tears spilled from her eyes and fell into the spring's water. She was in awe to be met by the Great Fairy. Lae showed her kindness and with her knowledge of the forest, found her a path to lead her home. Overjoyed, the human was able to return to her life, yet Lae was surprised to see her back the next day. It was uncommon for anyone to call upon her twice when her magic only worked once. Nevertheless, day after day the girl traveled the now familiar woods to sit with the Fairy and speak. It wasn’t long before she became expected and welcome, known even to the blooming flowers and birds above. In time, Lae came to return the favor, venturing out to see Dahlia at her home, much to the human’s delight, and came to know the charms of mortal life. Dahlia showed her music and dancing, home cooked food and warm houses. They spent their days singing songs, playing games, and filling the forest with nice memories. Together they would climb the trees and swim in the river before resting on the grass, daydreaming all manner of silly things. Time that once flew by in eons and millennia now passed only in hours, minutes, or seconds. Everything was different with Dahlia. [break][break]
Because nothing is impossible with you. It is now many years passed the pleasant afternoons Lae once spent with her friend. Currently, Lae is traveling Lorule, partaking in the different sights and sounds the land has to offer and enjoying a simpler existence. She has largely abandoned her duties as the Great Fairy; only observing more notable events without involvement, save for the occasional visit to her fountain to tend Dahlia’s resting place. She can be found in all corners of the world, butting in on the mortals for better or worse and living up to the love that Dahlia showed her
Enchantment: Ability to enhance or curse one object or person in one aspect. The effect varies with the imagination by must be boiled down to one concept Lae is reasonably capable of (Cannot be imbued with dark magic, cannot improve offense and defense, etc). The buffs or debuffs are permanent until acted upon by an outside force (Broken, killed, influenced by another individual or magic, etc). Each person or object can only be affected once ever. [break][break]
Healing: Fairies possess the ability to heal wounds over an amount of time. The more posts spent healing, the more of the wound is healing, depending on the severity of it. Fairies can also give up their lives to resurrect a fallen ally. [break][break]
Flight: All fairies have the ability to fly. [break][break]
Weak to Darkness: While Fairies can use their small form to light up the shadows, they take more damage from dark magic attacks. [break][break]
Dulcimer: A medieval string instrument played with spoon-like hammers in its free-standing form or with finger picks in its held, fretted form. She was taught to play by Dahlia a long time ago so they could duet together [break][break]
