Kallien curled up his nose as the slightly pungent smell of seawater hit his nostrils. Squinting his eyes as the Salty air whipped across his face. The boat churned from side to side as the waves crashed against it's hull. He sighed with a bit of frustration. The map had been clear, THIS was where they were supposed to make landfall. But nothing except the infinite blue of the vast sea stared back at him from the horizon. He pounded his fist on the wheel of the ship in frustration. Why had he taken on such a reckless venture? All on the obscure notes and scribbles from a poorly drawn map. The "Map" was no more than a thin bit of parchment with a few crudley drawn landmarks. It outlined the oddly squared shape of the shoreline, some minor rock formations every so often within it, marked by crudley drawn swirls. "why would anyone draw a shoreline with SWIRLS?" he thought." Unless those are all supposed to be whirlpools? That isn't possible" he thought angrily to himself, finding the idea of whirlpools surrounding an entire body of water of this size hard to believe.

He shook his head, "nevermind that now, I need to stay focused." He wasn't here to find out the driving force behind the whirlpools of this mysterious place he was looking for a Ship, a Pirate ship no less. He had heard there had been one sailing out in these waters. A ghost ship probably, no one had ever seen it make port in years, and those that did happen upon it even told tales of seeing skeletons manning it's probably long abandoned sails. A ghost ship indeed. This was going to be an easy snatch and grab. What were ghosts going to do? Besides howl at him from beyond the grave, nothing. He looked back out to the infinite blue of the vast ocean, his eyes scanning the horizon for any signs of his elusive target.

[attr="class","drkbody"] "People would be downright lunatic to try to cross these seas.... So what are we doing out here?" "Trying to search for said lunatics My Lord." "Ah right, a rescue mission. Let's risk our lives for the said crazy people... Gael was less than enthused about his current endeavor. Aboard a large Zora vessel they traversed the wakes of the sea in chase of some foolhardy kinsmen that thought they could cross the expansive death trap. The sea of storms was not something you trifled with -- for her wrath was even more frightening than the gods'. Wrapping his thick cloak over his shoulders in an attempt to stay warm, the hylian male scowled. Unlike his Zora people, the adoptive prince was not attuned to the wet climate and he despised the current weather. Rain and Wind, Wind and Rain, and Sea Water. "Do you even know your way around Captain?" "Of course not My Lord." "Excuse me?" "There is no man in the world, Human to Zora, who could map these sea's My Lord." "So we are navigating.. how?" "Off of my judgement My Lord." "... Wonderful." 'At this time.... I am one of those same lunatics. What a foolhardy mission! Next time those slimy council creeps can get out here and do it themselves... If I don't die here that is' As if on cue, a loud cry echoed from atop the mast, "BRACE FOR IMPACT!" Though he only had a moment to look up before the vessel struck something up forward and the entire ship rocked backwards. Gael grit his teeth, straightening himself back up from nearly stumbling over and immediately ran to the fore of the ship. Through the fog and stormy sea rain, he spotted another ship, a smaller one, compared to his own military armada craft. "Search that ship for survivors!" he called back, commanding his Zora Guard to leap onto the boat and bring aboard anyone they could find. Maybe it was the ship they were looking for, or maybe it was another sorry foolhardy sailor that dared to travel the waters.

he looked out sadly at the infinite blue horizon, the salt water stinging his eyes as he looked down at the near rotting wood of the rickety old vessel, it was barley seaworthy. It had been a cheap, second hand Trading ship that he bought off an old fisherman at the harbor, and on top of that it was a vessel crewed by normally 20 men, but he was sailing alone. To make matters worse, he was a poor mariner, and after only a few long hours, the constant steadying of the sails was taking a heavy toll on his muscles. He had known he should have gathered a proper crew, but he had always worked alone. well, at least as long as he'd broken his ties with the royal family, and society writ-large. He sighed heavily to himself as he saw the familiar shape of a ships mast through the horizon. he reached for his binoculars, trying to get a better look. "Whoa! A little too cl-" 

CRAAAAAK!

Kallien shouted as the impact of the ship knocked him to the the deck, he frantically reached for his sword, unsheathing it and crawling on his belly over to the mast of the ship, pressing his back against for cover as he leaned to the side, careful to expose as little of himself as possible, turning himself parallel to the mast as he peeked out in the direction of the would-be assailants, squinting his eyes as he struggled to see through the fog and roaring waves. Visibility was poor, and all he could make out was the outline of the ship that had just run right into his. Was he being boarded? "It looks like those pirates got to me first... well, gentlemen I'm sorry to say that you'll not find anything here. Save for rum and old rusty blades." He whispered to himself apprehensively as countless thin bits of metal and other assorted items slid across the deck, some falling into the water with a "splash!". The ship had been a weapons trading ship in it's day, and it had the scars to prove it. the countless marks of fending off pirates left the old, weathered ship looking like something right out of an old seadogs war stories. His blade glowed a faint light blue as the shard of Wisdom within it reacted to the nearby presence of another shard. "so, They DO have one with them!" he whispered to himself in a bit of a victorious tone. He had never quite understood why his sword glowed, having never found any other shards than the one he had infused his weapon with. And at the time he had found it he had thought it had been a piece of the crystal off of a wizzrobes staff. He hadn't even known the triforce had been broken at all, but what he did know is that when his sword glowed that faint blue it meant there were great bounties nearby. And that It had never failed him before, as he had recovered many valuable artifacts since its forging. "lets see if they're worth their salt" he said excitedly to himself, gripping his blade tightly in anticipation.

[attr="class","drkbody"] The young prince pushed aside the wet strands of hair that clumped to his forehead and stepped back from the hull. The less than pleased look on his face spot more words than anything --and motivated his men to be hasty. "I WANT TO GET MOVING AS FAST AS POSSIBLE! I don't want to dwell on the idea of something happening because we are stuck in the current with another ship hooked onto us," he ordered and placed his hands on his hips, leaving it to his captain to retrieve any surviving party and putting them on track to get home. Aboard the smaller vessel, a handful of the Zora guard stepped onto the wooden vessel, slowly inching further onto the deck. The ship was smaller, more equipped like a fishing boat and not like the royal procession that crashed into it. So the hopes of finding any living person on board grew slim as the four men scanned the area. Mildewed rope, scattered and rusty iron tools, and a few provisioning items were strewn about from the impact. "It looks empty, " one man yelled back to the captain. "Search the quarters and below deck," he ordered back, unsheathing his scimitar that he wore at his hip before stepping closer. Through the fog and the rain he made out very little, but he could at least see that the sails had been recently tied off. He knew that someone was on the boat recently, so hopefully they were still on the boat and not thrown into the sea upon impact. The guards walked the deck and past the mast, their eyes fastened on the wooden door in front of them, and they were poised for any sudden movement. "Oi, is anyone on board?" one called out, his hand on his own sword as she leaned an ear to listen carefully. At the same time, Gael, who was getting rather impatient, walked back to the fore and looked over the side. 'What is taking them so long to search a small ship?' he questioned himself before flinging himself over the railing and onto the board that linked the two ship decks. "I suppose if I need something done, I have to do it myself!" he boasted loudly as he landed on the small ship with a loud THUD. His blue eyes met with the captains before scowling and walking forward. The captain instantly protested, "My Prince! It could be dangerous!" "Any man that contests with me will get a sword in his gut!"

gh… why is the rum gone?’ Sappho lay resignedly across the bottom of her small rowing boat, staring at the empty bottle she was holding close to her body.
‘While I must say I do hate to drink this foul drink,’ she mused, ‘it has certainly served its purpose well… until now. I would never have set off on such a perilous journey as sailing across the stormy seas of Labrynna with such a meagre supply, or in such a vessel as this!’

Throwing her arms over the side of the boat, she started to scoop up seawater with the bottle absentmindedly. Her pink robes, nor designed for seafaring, were completely soaked and clung to her skin almost uncomfortably. She sighed, delicately tearing off the last mouthfuls of bread that she had left, before returning to her previous state of resignation as she lay back down on the wooden floor while the rain continued its relentless pounding on her body and boat.

And then it hit. A towering wave that dwarfed her boat absolutely. Seagulls flying over the surface of the sea were tossed from their flight paths like waste paper, specks of white among the relentless grey, as they struggled to keep aloft. Her boat was swept from its intended direction, the waters pushing it over and under the waves, until at last it hit an obstacle and ruptured. Grasping for hand or footholds on the murky structure that she had just hurtled towards, she managed to grab onto the wooden hull while hooking her arm round her parasol to avoid it being lost to the waves. She hauled herself up onto the deck, brushing away wet strand of hair that clung to her forehead, only to be met by a less than friendly sight of sharp spears being pointed towards her.

‘This is hardly what I was expecting to happen on my excursion across the Sea of Storms. First, my supply of drink runs out halfway into a fierce storm, then my sailing vessel is broken to pieces by this accursed sea, and finally, I end up on a hostile ship while some sour-faced Zora soldiers point their weapons at me!’ At this, she flicked the point of one of the spears, startling the guard holding it. ‘I demand I see your captain! I doubt that they will stand for the maltreatment of a lady such as I!’

Stripped of my pride, my sanity, even my mortality, I have resigned Myself to the role Of an onlooker.

With a quick motion Kallien smiled slightly as he poked the sharp steel of his blade into the back of the zora captain, reaching to his wrist and pinning it behind his back, holding it with a firm grip. He had waited in ambush waiting for someone to pass, luckily it had been the captain who had stepped forward so bravely into the unknown. "Then you'll have to contest with me I'm afraid..." The Zora soldiers spun around as they saw their leader taken captive. he realigned his blade, angling it to where he could slice right through the Zora captains neck in one swipe if he had wanted to, his hands did not tremble or shake. This was not new to him, he had done this maneuver many times before. Dismantling the command structure by going right for the leader, It was a tried and true method, and it worked just about every time. Save for dealing with the more "uncivilised" peoples. These however we're civilized people, not a mindless rabble. He thought cooly to himself, Perhaps he could orchestrate his escape. All that was needed was a bit of *persusasion* on his part. "Gentlemen, Ladies." he nodded to the zora soldiers and to the hilariously out of place looking girl on the deck of the ship. "Let's not do anything reckless shall we?" he held his sword to the neck of the Zora captain, slowly stepping back to align something behind himself so as not to be attacked from behind. "you lot don't look to be pirates, so what are you doing boarding the ship of a humble traveler such as me? Does the zora navy take sport in "inspecting" cargo vessels these days?" he cooly surveyed the spear weilding soldiers, taking care to watch the movements of the other strange man, wondering what a Hylian was doing in the middle of a big group of Zoras. "you there, can you speak for these men? what business do you have here?"

Gael was not sure what to be more surprised at; The fact that his Zora Guard was taken as a hostage, or that someone would act so hostile to a rescue? A dark brow arched as his two men brought forth a woman of golden hair, and another was held at knife point by a --sheikah?

"Uhhh..."

A muttered response that clearly depicted how clueless he was. He glanced back and forth between the two strangers before sheathing his blade and placing his hands on his hips. This situation was getting more and more out of control and he didn't like it one bit.

"I am Prince Gael of the Sea Zora. You are in no position to think you have something over me by holding one of my men. I suggest you let him go before I get back on my ship and leave you stranded here. My Zora can swim for hundreds of miles. Can you?"

He raised his chin slightly and his gaze moved to rest on the woman, "Forgive my men for their poor hospitality but as you can see, we have to be careful of vagabonds such as this man."

Gael sighed and ran his fingers through his now drenched hair, the salt of the sea causing his curls to matte to his forehead uncomfortably. "The only thing that would make this any worse is if we were to be att--"

CRASH! BOOM!!

Wood splintered and groaned as it fell into the sea, the sounds of the boat's rocking closely as a large shadowy tendril raised from the maelstrom like depths. With a twist it quickly raised to smash down on the portside of the boat, tilting it enough for Gael to slide a few feet.
"WHAT IS THAT!?"

He kept a firm grip on the zoras wrist as he surveyed the soldiers cooly, narrowing his eyes as his mentioned them swimming for hundreds of miles. He knew the man was right, but he said nothing, keeping his blade trained on the back of the zora. "A prince are you? So you're not marauders? We're you supposed to be rescuing me? Well next time try NOT ramming the ship won't you." He let go of the zora soldiers wrist and pushed him lightly back towards his men, taking a step back as he sheathed his blade. "apologies, no one ever died being too careful out here." he smiled at the word "vagabond" That was one he'd heard before, and one of the kinder terms at that since he'd turned to a life of a fugitive. "heh..." he chuckled to himself. the smile faded into a slightly confused look, raising one eyebrow as he saw the dark tendril snake up through the mist, reacting instantly he rolled to the side, deftly avoiding the long, slimy tendril. as he got to his feet he slowly drew his blade, the soft pale blue glow emanating from it now glowing brighter as both shards from Gael and Sappho reacted with it. "well, this is certainly interesting..." he said in a soft, low tone, quickly striding to cover looking out at the ripple where the tentacle was sticking out of the water. "well then, "your highness", let's see if your swords as sharp as your tongue!" he smiled with a sideways glance at the Zora prince, readying his weapon for the impending fight as he stared down that writhing tentacle.

he soldiers escorted Sappho to the upper deck, her expression now changed to a stony resolution from her previous annoyance, and awaited for the captain’s arrival. However, it wasn't a Zora she was greeted by, but a rough’n’ tumble, pirate who had their dagger pointed straight into the captain’s back. Sappho rolled her eyes as she saw this, muttering under her breath, ‘Even pirates don't change, I see.’

Unconcerned about the situation the captain had just been out in, she strode into his quarters - guards attempting to bar her way in vain - and cosied into a nice armchair she found and started to file through various documents on the oak desk sat on the side.
‘Ah, they are a denomination of the Sea Zora’s royal guards? Must be a quite a large amount of goods or a high standing member of society they are transporting, for them to be sailing in these turbulent waves, I wonder if it's a relative of that ruthless king I met a few decades back… what was his name? Ah, yes. Phorcys! But, would he even still be alive after such a long time? He didn't look to be too hea~’

Sappho was abruptly interrupted from her musings as she heard cries for help, before a monstrous crash shook the boat. Sappho, reluctant to get up from her comfortable position, slowly rose from the armchair and made her way back onto the rain-battered deck. Dwarfing even the boat, a salmon pink tentacle sweeped across the deck, taking a few loose nets along with it. Two figures stood up to it, staring it down as they determined their next course of action. One seemed to be a human whose clothes denoted some rich background, while the other was… that hopeless pirate, who slowly drew his sword to produce a sharp blade with a soft blue glow surrounding it. Sappho’s eyes shone with a dark humour at the sight,
‘Even a petty pirate such as he holds a shard of that sacred relic? What a twist you Goddesses have been dealt, that such a person with selfish desires has come to claim your dearest treasure!’

NO MOMENT IS THE SAME AS THE ONE AFTER IT.

"I DIDN'T DO IT ON PURPOSE!" he shouted back at the accuser. As if he would openly sail head first into a boat and cause himself even more problems. He didn't want to be here in the first place! "You will have to test my steel later, first I plan to take care of this cephalopod!"

After barking at him men to prepare the mounted harpoons on his ship, he rolled forward to dodge a large suction cupped tentacle. Oh how have they angered the monsters now. A quick glance to his 'guests' was followed by a stern command, "Make for my ship, she is more sturdy than this sinking wooden coffin!"

Climbing the strewn bridge between the two, a quick swipe of his sword led to the dismemberment of a fleshy and pink blob which intended to crawl around him. His sword was sharp however, and even the most gelatinous of substances cut like butter. "Zora where are those harpoons!? Aim for it's body!....AND PIN DOWN THOSE ARMS!"

You picked a back opponent to fight my squidly friend.... the Zora were masters at sea faring combat.

he great squid launched another onslaught of tentacles in retaliation to the crew's efforts, a few lashing the Zora ship’s lower deck, while others dealt with the pirate's vessel. Sappho had unfortunately been caught up in the path of one tentacle, which swept her across the wooden floor, her footing only stabilised by a quick thought of grabbing onto a rope dangling from a higher beam tied to the mast. This, however, had an adverse effect on her positioning as the rope suddenly swung dangerously to the left, leaving her helpless above the raging seas.

Even after seeing the sharp rocks jutting out of the water in a not-so-welcoming fashion, Sappho merely sighed in exasperation, mumbling to herself about her luck so far. Thankfully, the wind changed direction only a moment later, allowing her the chance to swing back around to the upper deck, which she missed completely. As she tried to land back on the ship, the rope jerked even more sharply to the right, causing her to move towards the squid at an alarming speed. Taking this as an opportunity, Sappho used the momentum from the swing to take her towards the squid before dealing a hard hit right to it’s face, which reeled back in pain.

However, the force from the kick once again changed her direction, the rope veering to the right once again. This sharp change disorientated Sappho who was unable to hold her grip, and she tumbled from her position and fell back to the lower deck where she had a soft landing on top of a barrel of rum. ‘At least one good thing came about from that ghastly experience: the rum certainly isn't gone.’

at the behest of Gael he quickly dashed towards the side of the boat, putting his feet up to the railing and leaping through the air over to the other craft. rolling as he landed, as he rose to his feet he stretched out his arm, swinging his sword in a circular arc, spinning on his heel as he cut one of those tentacles off with one cleave. he quickly sidestepped another tentacle coming at him in retaliation, slamming down beside him. The force was enough to stagger him, and crack the wood of Gaels boat. he watched in awe as the girl in the dress swung around on a rope above him, wincing every time the rope jerked from one side, and then to the other. imagining her falling right into the raging depths. his eyes widened as the girl kicked the monster square in the head, watching her fall to the deck with his jaw slightly agape.

"Well, that was impressive...for somebody wearing a dress" he muttered to himself. The roar of the monster snapped him back to the current task, he looked over to  Gael, calling out to him as he positioned himself behind cover once more, taking refuge behind some crates.

"I don't suppose you have any-" He ducked as several powerful harpoons flew over his head, straight into the beast, as Gael had commanded. Nearly all of them hit their mark, he winced as one of them right through the windows of his quarters. he'd paid good rupees for the furniture in there, even if it was stolen.

"I was going to say cannons but that'll do!"

another tentacle swung at him from above. this was his chance. He quickly dodged to the right, stepping on the tentacle , making sure it was secure before placing both feet on it, quickly, dexteriously he ran up the length of that tentacle, following it back to his owner, leaping into the air, his sword raised in a two-handed grip as he muttered a Spell.

"Aduin!" He thrust the sword into the giant tentacled beast as the force of his jump buried the blade deep into it's soft, fleshy skin. The blade let out a bright blue glow, before a great, powerful blast of energy emitted from the blade. The explosion blasted a good sized  chunk out of the flesh of the monster, giving it the appearance it had been hit by an explosive. causing it to reel back, howling in pain, its tentacles writhing into the air as it was temporarily disoriented from the blast. The blast knocked him back too, blasting him away from the creature. he was propelled several feet into the air, crashing into a box with great force, splintering the wood. He looked around, vision blurred and senses dazed, but for the most part unharmed, except for a few scratches. He could have just as easily broken his back if he had hit the mast. He shrugged to himself as he shook his head. He had always had the luck of a thief, if nothing else.

Perhaps he was in luck that his wards weren't totally defenseless. In fact he felt that he was doing little compared to the two of them. A dark brow arched in his confusion at the sight of the young woman fearlessly, --and quite literally, swinging into battle; perhaps he should take notes.

Endlessly harpoons fired from his vessel, turning the squid into a living pin cushion. Yet despite that, it still roared and swung its tentacles, which aimed to bring down his ship as well. Thing were quickly taking a darker turn.

"Pull up the anchor!" he called back to crew, his eyes glancing to the waves that crashed against his ship. They were sitting ducks, just letting the beast pound on it continuously.

"But my prince, surely we would be sucked into the maelstrom surrounding it!"

A smile crept across his face, watching the swirling mass of water that fell around it's large body.

"That is the point! Just do it!"

Fighting the tentacles one by one would get them nowhere. He needed to be close to it, he needed to be in it's face. The sound of chains moving signaled the anchor raising and the fierce wind pushed the boat despite the wreckage and whipping appendages that would block its path.

Taking the helm, the prince swiftly turned the rudder, the ship swiftly proceeding closer. The mass of the beast came father into his field of view until the impact of his boat into its face pushed the prince forward.

"Give it all you got!"

aving given up on continuing the battle any further, her body riddled with many sores and bruises, Sappho simply sat on top of a barrel in wait for what would be next. She had never planned to actually take part in this battle, but had become so carried away in the heat of it all that she had. For her true aim was to reach a certain ghostly vessel that was haunting the Sea of Storms, a ship with valuable knowledge on a particular goal of hers. Leaving them to their devices, she hurried back to the inside of the captain’s quarter and drew out several charting maps.

‘The location of the Ghost Ship can be traced by looking at its previous coordinates and the moon's cycles. The correlation is plain as day, or should I say, plain as night. Now, to find out it's current position… by placing these two maps together and marking them… if these two points coincide… aha! I have the position, and it's…’

With that, she felt a great heave as the ship crashed into the giant squid and pierced through its rubbery skin. She looked back down at the scroll in her hand with the coordinates written down, pausing to ponder on the nature of the appearance of the kraken and the files found about it in the captain’s desk.

‘What if this creature is merely a guardian of the depths in this sea, and these dangerous waters?’ And then it hit her. A thought that seemed so obvious in hindsight, ‘Or what if it was a ward against something else entirely different!’

With those words, a large (well-timed) object broke through the surface of the waters a kilometre away, it's deathly glow casting a creepy light across thle now calm waves. It's appearance brought on a strange lull in the sea, with not one ripple to be seen, nor a gull to be heard. It was as if everything in its vicinity was dead. ‘So that is the long sought-after Ghost Ship?’

Stripped of my pride, my sanity, even my mortality, I have resigned Myself to the role Of an onlooker.

He looked on, back against the crate, vision still a bit blurry as the ship carved right into the sea monster, it let out a roar, and then sank into the depths.It's tentacles slipping down back into the water. Kallien just shook his head, they'd either killed it or harmed it enough to retreat, either way, it was out of their collective hair,
for the moment. He let out a sigh, looking down at his hands, they were a bit bloodied, covered in sea creature muck, but in working order, at least.

"well... that could have been worse..."

he turned his head up towards the waters as the vessel broke the surface, his eyes widening as he saw that ship appear out of it like a piece of wood surfacing from under the water. he blinked, hardly beleiving his eyes. "well... there she is!" he squinted his eyes. The rumors had been true! mostly all he could see on the deck of the ship were piles of bones, of the long since dead crewmembers. he tilted his head to one side, muttering to himself. "But if they are all just bones... who's steering the ship?" He shook his head, he knew this was probably some kind of trick. And just as some of his foes had done in the past, they would probably begin to animate as soon as they got to close. If they we're going to get that ship, they had to act quickly, they had to board it.


He looked around for the girl in the dress, not seeing her anywhere, he looked to the strange man. Standing up and staggering over to the edge of the ship as he called out to him, pointing to the ship "I don't suppose you have a couple of grappling hooks among those harpoons?" he said with a playful tone.
