Asthar was more than ready to begin charging forward, he was ready to act as the distraction and dash down into the heart of the area and beat down a couple of bandits while running around trying to keep their attention on him. If it meant that Aryllia could get away while they focused on him then he was perfectly fine with that, after all it was his blunder that caused all this so he had to take responsibility. He prepped himself about to dash into the fray, but something immediately caught his attention and immediately Asthar looked over at her a bit surprised “wait huh?” Asthar said a bit caught off guard that she would not leave him.
To her he was just some odd stranger that hired him, yet even then she chose not to abandon him. It was noble and Asthar really admired that as he looked at the girl, but he really didn’t have time to admire her as she immediately grabbed his hand and pulled him along to hide away, the sudden pull snapping his mind back into reality. Together with his partner leading the way Asthar ran alongside the girl looked down over at her hand that held his own before watching her kick down the door. “…impressive” Asthar said before rushing in along with her only to find the two of them crashing downwards.
There was pain the sheer moment Asthar collided with the ground, but there was more pain the moment he found the girl falling onto him. The girl wasn’t really that heavy so he was okay that she landed on him rather than the hard ground, but it still hurt nonetheless and Asthar struggled not to let out a groan.
Moving a bit with the very limited space, Asthar held her shoulders and leaned in as well to try and tried to listen in as well. The bandits were still running around like madmen trying to find their intruders but to no avail. As per what Aryl said she was correct to say this was the basement, but from the keyhole one could see a weak looking old man running up to one of the bandits teary eyes and fatigued
“Whats going on? Is my family ok?! Please tell me!” the old man said running up to the bandit clinging onto the bandits arm, only for the bandit to kick him away.
“Quite you damn alchemist, we brought you here to do your damn job so focus solely on that and we might release you and your family. NOW GET WORKING ON THOSE SHARDS!” The bandit said. It was a complete lie, but the only hope the alchemist really had to hope upon.
“…so they are connected…” Asthar whispered calmly as he listened to what was happening. “There have been three rumors going about in Holodrum…one of the rumors going about is that a few alchemists and their families have been going missing lately…the second is that numerous amounts of gold have been either swiped or pillaged…and third…they say that there are those that can sell shards of the triforce itself…” Asthar said narrowing his eyes “…they are using alchemist to make and then sell counterfeits of the triforce shards…” Asthar concluded.
With his conclusion Asthar glanced down over at the girl but then his eyes glanced over at his chest only to notice the girl had her hand on his chest, making him realize just how close she was to him. His eyes widened a bit as he glanced down at her, barely even seeing her from the small light from the keyhole, but even then he was a bit dumbfound. He had girls always cling to him before, but this was different. He almost felt a bit, flustered? He couldn’t describe it, but it was only for a snap before Asthar closed his eyes with a cheerful smile “Well this is nice…” Asthar said before releasing her shoulders and leaned back a bit. “So, I know I was the one who hired you and all…but I’ll leave the next decision up to you…what do you want to do? Whatever it is…I’ll follow suit…” Asthar said.
Though never really having been on a true date himself, Asthar did know what he was talking about when it came to these topics. He was a flirt, but a tasteful one at that. He charmed the hearts of many women, but such things had never gone farther that they should. He always liked to see a girl smile and perhaps that was somewhat the origin of his flirtatious ways, but he knew a relationship should be with somebody special. He couldn’t say that he himself deserved a good and wonderful woman, but Perseus did and that is what he believed. True it was all fun and games to Asthar, but Perseus and Kura deserved to be happy and what better way than to join the two together when they were head over heels together.
The two lovebirds were in agreement about heading out to see the events for the Summer Solstice and that was good, though Asthar did raise an eyebrow a bit curious as he watched Kura secretly converse with her retainer. Paying it no mind as he could only assume it was a personal matter, Asthar closed his eyes and smiled nonchalantly with his hands in his pockets as he walked down the halls with Perseus and Kura towards their rooms. Kura was given her room and all that was left was for Asthar to be directed to his own room. He walked along side Perseus, but what happened next was something quick and unexpected. His eyes opened widely as he was suddenly swept into room. Before he knew it he was standing in the bedroom with the door closed behind him and a freaked out Perseus standing before him.
Taking a moment to actually adjust the sudden change and take a bit of time to watch Perseus freak out as well (which was always interesting to watch) Asthar merely closed his eyes and let out a small chuckle as he placed his hand on his friend’s shoulder and held it firmly. His eyes were closed and his face held a serene smile and look as he suddenly raised the other hand and slapped Perseus across the face with the serene look not changing. Though the slap wasn't quite hard, it was enough to at least try and snap him back into reality. “As much as I enjoy watching you all flustered you need to calm down Perky” Asthar said as he opened his eyes with a determined look as he used the other hand to grab his other shoulder as well. “Listen! You’ve gotten this far right? Have more confidence in yourself! Nothing is going to go wrong trust me! So long as I am here you don’t have to fear, I’ve got your back” Asthar said reassuringly as he gave him a grin before letting go of his friend’s shoulders and proceeded to the bed.
Falling back onto the bed Asthar laid his back casually on the bed, resting his head on top his left arm while his right leg was folded over his risen left knee. “You’re over thinking it really…Remember, she is as nervous just as you are…” Asthar said closing his eyes. “Power, Wealth ,Fame…I don’t think she is interested in any of those…she is interested in not the King, but just the man named Perseus. Don’t be so formal…just be yourself and you’ll be fine” Asthar said softly before suddenly letting out a chuckle “Now then, with that ambiguous crap said we can move on to the more helpful stuff…hmm lets see…hmm…try complimenting her on how she looks. Girls like those kinds of complements especially when they’ve tried their best to impress their man…hmm try and find something she is interested in and spark a conversation on that…show her a lot of pretty things… and…yeah…the rest is up to you” Asthar said glancing over at him. “Be more confident and don’t over think it…this is for both of you to enjoy…that is my advice…You’re going to do fine and if anything just remember I’ll be around to help” Asthar said
The girl was quite stoic looking but if Asthar had to describe it he felt it was more like a shell rather than her true personality. It was hard for one’s personality to fully change, but even then bits and pieces of it would remain. Aryllia was different from the girl he knew, but just listening to her small laugh and the flustered look on her face made the rouge disguised king smile a warm smile. In a way it was far too cute and he really did want to see more of it, but alas they had a job to do and hopefully they would be able to get it over with soon.
Splitting up was indeed perhaps a bad idea when rushing into the enemy’s territory, but if one could handle themselves then it was a fine tactic. Asthar was sure in his skill and he had faith in Aryllia’s skill as well. Had he not had such faith in the girl he would have never proposed such a mission and in Asthar’s mind he was sure that they were ready for anything. The fact alone that the girl didn’t walk off with his money and ditch him was a pleasant thing and something Asthar felt he did not need to worry about.
Giving Aryllia a nod upon hearing her words before moving past the split, Asthar made his way down the hallway that he had chosen. Each step was light as a feather and each footstep held caution. Sneaking into the first room he came upon produced nothing of interest in his eyes and the process repeated for the room across and the next few rooms ahead. It was a big hideout and Asthar could only assume that this area held a bigger space than what the bandits needed.
“Well this will be annoying…” Asthar said letting out a tsk as he begun to leave the room but then paused for a moment and glanced over his shoulder at something he didn’t really pay attention to originally. “Oh? What do we have here?” Asthar said walking up to a table and picked up a big piece of paper. “A diagram of the area…this might be useful” Asthar said rolling up the map and placing in in his pocket before dashing off into the next area. Dashing down the hall Asthar immediately pressed his back to the nearby wall as the hallway came to a turn to the left. Quickly peeking his head to check whether the hall was clear Asthar sighed in relief as he noticed it was clear, not only that, he noticed a familiar girl at the end of the hallway.
The hallway was quite wide and long, but it wouldn’t take long to cross at all. There was a problem however and it might be tricky for the cloaked man. On Asthar’s left side of the hallway there was no wall blocking the way. If one were to walk down the hall they would be able to get a good look down at the main floor as there was merely a railing there to prevent anybody from falling down. There was also a staircase one can use albeit both the railing and stairs were wooden and looked worn. Glancing down Asthar could merely see a bunch of bandits merely drinking merely, the sight almost looking as if they were looking down at a bar or something.
Time was not a luxury they had and so Asthar needed to act. Couching a bit, Asthar dashed past the hall and quickly made it to his companion’s side “Well then, always nice to see you” Asthar said closing his eyes with a cheerful smile as he pulled out the map. “I couldn’t find what I was looking for but this map will help greatly…I’m sure that what I’m seeking is down below…” Asthar said pointing at the basement “here! Right here is where I believe we’ll find what we are looking for…hmm but there will be some guys down there…and the only path into the basement….is near the main entrance” Asthar said before closing his eyes in thought. “Hmm…we need a distraction…” Asthar said before his eyes widened as the front doors immediately swung open and a young bandit rushed in.
“Well well well, look who finally showed up. You’re so goddamn late for the meeting! Hahah the boss is pissed! He is going to have your head for sure!” said one of the bandits gleefully as the others laughed, but the one who had just entered seemed out of breath and frantic despite the laughter
“WHERE IS THE BOSS?! THE SCOUTS ARE OUT OF COMMISSION! WE HAVE INTRUDERS!”
With those words the situation got grim as the bandits begun to rise to their feet. “This is bad…a miscalculation on my part…I had assumed all of them were at the base due to their meeting…damn that kid really is an idiot…knowing o’l one eye he really would have chopped off the kids head for coming late…he lucked out…” Asthar said crossing his eyes with a sigh. “I said we needed a distraction right? Well then let me deal with that then…I’ll keep their attention so head to the basement without them noticing and clean up there…” Asthar said tossing her the map.
“INTRUDER!”
From behind Asthar a bandit yelled out those words as he rushed towards the pair, but Asthar closed his eyes and merely smirked as he quickly turned around and grabbed the bandit’s face with the palm of his hand and then looked over his shoulder at Aryll with a smile. “I have full faith in your skill Aryll…” Asthar said softly as his grip on the man’s face tightened and he immediately crashed through the railing and jumped from the upper floor. Airborne and still holding the man’s face, Asthar pushed downwards and both Asthar and the bandit descended downwards, causing Asthar to slam the bandit’s body through a table. Dust began to cover the area, but Asthar merely grinned as he stood ontop of a still standing table and spread out one arm while the other rested upon his sheathed sword “Well I guess there is no point in hiding any further…to take this long to figure out a single thief sneaked into your hideout…I must applaud that” Asthar said before unsheathing his blade. “Well then…shall we have some fun?” Asthar said narrowing his eyes with a smirk.
The kingdom of Holodrum; it was truly a cesspool of violence and sorrow that was coated by the glamourous and wonderful looking lifestyle of the rich. It was a land that boasted immense and powerful forces only worthy for one of the three grand kingdoms, but such power was not used to better the bond between the three kingdoms, but merely to merely selfishly keep thing in line for Holodrum. So long as King Rikel held dominion over the land of Holodrum then there was no hope for a bond to form between Holodrum and the other two kingdoms, but things had changed. A change had occurred, a progressive change that hadn’t occurred in years. For once knights from Holodrum and the kingdom and Hyrule stood side by side.
Such a gathering between two groups of knights from different lands was only possible due to prince Asthar. The child was only 17 years old and while such an age was perhaps not that young, for the heavy tasks he had taken perhaps it truly was. Ever since King Rikel had been struck with illness the tasks the king could not take were merely taken by the son. Though Asthar was limited in what he did, he tried his best to forge a friendship between Hyrule and Labrynna at the mere age of 13. Attempts with Labrynna were far from any form of success, but Hyrule had a great deal of promise.
King Daphnes and Asthar had been able to form a friendship between each other and with it the chance for Holodrum and Hyrule to work along each other grew. Despite the friendship between the king and prince there was still numerous doubts and worries that Daphnes felt about dealing with Holodrum due to King Rikel and there was hesitation in dealing with the other kingdom. When the request came from Asthar to receive some assistance form Hyrule, Daphnes reluctantly agreed taking the small step. Though this was a mission that was meant to strengthen the bonds of Hyrule and Holodrum, Hyrule was not too keen on sending their best knights to Holodrum and so only a handful of knights were sent over to the other kingdom.
“Alright men listen up!”
A loud and booming voice yelled out to the knights and in that moment the knights that had been casually conversing with each other had begun to immediately stand firmly side by side in a line as a burly man made his way towards them. The man before them was coated in an armor of great quality and his face held look of experience in combat. It was clear that the man before them was the captain and their leader in this mission. “Normally I would not repeat myself, but since we have…guests…I’ll do so. Here in Horon City a group of rebels have been causing a great deal of problems….numerous people of high class have been targeted and assassinated and we are positive the couple of deaths are linked. Without these people funds will be running low and his majesty is quite upset. The mission is simple, investigate and stop these killings. We have already stationed a few guards over to defend the aristocrats so your goal is merely to find out where these bastards are hiding and weed them out like the rats they are!” The captain yelled as most of the knights yelled out a yes sir! With that said the captain merely closed his eyes and folded his arms as he begun to speak once more. “Good… I will be splitting you up into squads…once you are teamed up you will move out immediately!” The captain begun to say but momentarily paused and opened his eyes. “Oh and before I forget…the king wants the culprits alive…I don’t care what methods you must take, but all we need is them alive and nothing more” The captain before beginning to yell out names.
With the orders having been given to the group of knights, the knights began shuffling around, moving as directed to the other knights they were paired up with. Normally the squads held around 3 to 4 people, however there was one particular exception to this. “Well then…that just leaves… ah Queensguard…heh I’ve heard about you, you’re the princess’s little friend…” The captain said walking towards the blond knight from Hyrule. “alright you’re going to be stuck with the newbie…don’t get hurt out there kid” The captain said with a chuckle as he glanced over at the last remaining unpaired knight and signaled him over to Elinkar before walking off.
A knight whose look was rather plain in most regards glanced over at Elinkar with a bright and happy smile before running up towards the young knight. His outfit was rather basic to the point it was rather a plain light armor covering his torso with a metal helmet over his head. The helmet over his head was a bit big for his head and as such the helmet covered the top of his head and concealed his eyes a bit, casting a shadow over the eyes making merely even more difficult to really even make him look like a generic grunt.
“Ah! So you’re the one I’m paired up with!” the knight said with a clearly excited tone before suddenly tripping and falling face first towards the ground. “owowow…I’m ok!” the knight said raising a thumbs before immediately leaping up to his feet and smiling happily holding the top of his helmet as he did so while closing the gap between them. “The name is Tharas! It'll be an honor to be able to work with you!” The knight said with a cheerful grin as he held out his hand to shake.
Asthar was just having an absolute blast. At this point it wasn’t even about getting the two together as it seemed that ship sailed far from the docks already. Those two were falling for each other hard but they just couldn’t admit it. While some would find such a thing quite annoying to watch the two basically hold it in so much, for an onlooker like Asthar it just amused him watching them struggle and squirm like this trying to let out how they feel only to fail. He kind of felt bad for watching them struggle like this but it was a happy time for the three of them and it was best to enjoy one’s self.
Perhaps Asthar could take credit for this, but he barely did much, at least that was what he believed. All he really did was nudge the fellow young king and tease him a bit. It was premature to say it but those two did look nice together and it would have been quite the shame if they didn’t get together because Perseus hesitated.
Kura begun to speak about Percy escorting her about, but all Asthar really heard was that she was asking him to go on a date. He had noticed Percy’s looks over at him for help, but perhaps it was finally time for Asthar to actually help. “Percy is quite right…if anything it is an understatement” Asthar said closing his eyes with a smile “Lynna is quite a beautiful place…I am sure you two will find somewhere nice to roam about together” Asthar said taking a sip before placing the empty cup on the table before him before and brushed some of his bangs of hair away from his face “ah, but would it not be radiant to walk the streets in the night? Those beautiful stars soaring high above you illuminating all before you, revealing all the wonders that the sun cannot show and bringing forth a hidden beauty of the world to your eyes…does that not sound majestic? Something worthy to be shared with a special someone hand in hand? Something that can never be forgotten, a time that will forever be ingrained in the mind?” Asthar said, his voice holding a dramatic yet very smooth and even serene tone before a chuckle was let out and a mischievous smirk “heh…Though, I’d love to be the one to tell your future kids how mommy and daddy went on their first date” Asthar. He told himself he was going to help Percy, but he couldn't help himself.
Asthar’s movements were very cautious yet smooth. Despite his job to gather attention he couldn’t make it too obvious otherwise he’d find himself decorated with a nice set of arrows piercing his body. He moved around some branches but move around in the small area in order to make it even more difficult for the archers to pinpoint where he was. The confusion and frustration that the archers would feel would make it easier for Aryllia to swoop in and take them out. The way the archer got confused by such sounds and the way their eyes moved around perplexed merely told these archers were far from seasoned warriors in the slightest.
With his task being taken care of all he had to do was now wait for Aryllia to finish her task before they could move on with theirs. From his spot he was able to get a good view of what was going on and Asthar could only say that he was impressed at what he saw. Aryll managed to dispatch of both archers with ease and not only that but she managed to do it so quick and silent that the plan went off without a hitch.
“Wonderful! Magnificent! Truly a wonderous sight! Truly you make my heart flutter so!” Asthar said dramatically as he held one hand over his heart and the other held up as his head was lowered with a smile. He walked towards her and the entrance as he spoke and kept his voice quiet and mindful of where they were. One hand casually resting on his waist he stood beside his partner in this mission and stared over at the front door. Aryll began to speak to him about their next course of action and Asthar couldn’t help but raise his head and look down upon her with calm eyes. “hoh? Isn’t it obvious?” Asthar said as he narrowed his eyes and smirked “We break down that door and burst in head first of course! Kick any ass we find and then collect any treasure we can get! Sounds like the best damn plan doesn’t it?” Asthar said before closing his eyes with a grin. He begun to walk forward a bit but then and then stopped as he stood before the door and let out a chuckle. “yes…a good plan…to get us killed…” Asthar said before looking over his shoulder at her with a smile “We take the balcony and go from there, We’ll try and knock out whoever is in our way but for the most part we’ll rely on stealth and work our way up from there…a fight will be inevitable, but if we lower the amount of hurdles we’ll face during that time then we’ll be just fine…” Asthar said calmly holding his chin in thought, much more different than the carefree personality.
“Well then, let us not waste time then, let’s go…” Asthar said as he begun to climb, but stopped mid-way and looked over his shoulder. “…by the way, if things get messy…you are free to leave…do not worry you’ll get paid regardless…” Asthar said before closing his eyes and smiling a charming smile “I don’t want anything happening to that pretty face of yours…but I don’t think I have anything to worry about…” Asthar said as he looked forward “…after all you’re quite strong Aryll…” Asthar said. With that said Asthar immediately begun to climb the tree and once he was at a suitable height he leapt and landed on the balcony without a sound, holding the tip of his hood so that it wouldn’t fall.
Now on the balcony Asthar began to peak his head in a bit to get a good sight of what was there and glanced over at Aryll. “…going through is a hallway with a few rooms and a split that goes left and right…its old and decrepit…so it’s going to be hard to understand the layout from outside…we need to go in and figure out the layout ourselves…I suggest we split up to cover more ground and meet up later. I'll go left and you can go right…there is one guy roaming around but I’ll deal with that…we move on my signal and take out as much as possible” Asthar said as he rose three fingers and smirked as he looked forward. With each second each finger went down and once the last finger was down Asthar immediately kicked off and dashed forward. The bandit roaming around in the hall did not notice the sudden incoming threat, but once he turned around it was far too late. Reaching forward Asthar grabbed the bandit’s mouth and held it shut. Narrowing his eyes with a smirk he raised his hand and smacked the side of his palm into the neck of the bandit, knocking him out. Placing the body down Asthar quickly began to dash down the hall and turned left upon a split in the hallway.
The so called relationship between Perseus and Zelda had always been quite a mess. While as friends their relationship was a great one, but on the romantic side it was filled with such discord that such a relationship was something that shouldn’t be. Zelda’s heart belonged to another and Perseus was ok with all that, but if it was just that simple then there wouldn’t be a problem in the slightest. That man only made it worse. King Ghaladion, that bastard of a man abused such feeling for his own personal gain.
Asthar loved to mess with that guy. There were times he tried his best to actually work with that man, but in the end he was always shut out and it was just a pointless endeavor to point that when they did have to react he’d play around with him casually. When that man announced the wedding of Perseus and Zelda all Asthar could do was laugh. In that moment during that ceremony Asthar’s laughter was loud and powerful and he laughed that the man would dare take such a forceful decision. For him and his people it was a declaration of war, that the king of Labrynna was truly abusing Daphnes’s death and trying to claim Hyrule as well. He declared that war was the inevitable outcome should he take this path, but the man was a fool and he continued on. In order to truly avoid the bloodshed however Asthar chose to leave at that moment, but he provided his assistance with both Zelda and her allies and the end that fool of a man’s ambition came to an abrupt end.
That time was nothing more than just the past, and thinking about it he couldn’t help but feel some pity for Perseus, but the younger king was a strong one. It was time for Perseus to move on and Asthar felt that it has already occurred. The next step was merely to redirect that love he had to somebody more fitted for that, but Asthar did not expect to accomplish such a task so early and easily and it sort of took away the fun.
He wanted to burst out in laughter after his words to Kura. She was brightly red and immediately nervous. It was a clear revelation that she also held feelings for Perseus as well. The two clearly held feelings for each other but their shyness just got in the way, luckily they had him around. Perseus reacted as well making it harder for Asthar to hold it in, but he managed to close his eyes and put on a frown upon his face “oh? Was I mistaken? Oh dear” Asthar said as a silence occurred as Kura said those magic words.
She sealed it, if he knew Perseus then he knew those words would bring what he was hiding out. Perseus rejected those words and with that he spoke out about his feelings for Kura. It was corny in a way, but sweet in a way. Despite his charm, it seemed Perseus was going to actually get into an intimate relationship before him. His eyes opened a tad as his narrowed red eyes glanced over at Perseus with a smirk before closing his eyes once more and took a sip of his tea. He would allow Kura to say something and maybe have a bit of fun after.
Things would have been a bit complicated had he merely addressed the question she had of if they had met before. Of course Asthar could merely have rejected such a claim and merely continued on as the stranger that had never really met her before, but why complicate things? They had their mission before them and it was best that they finished it off before they actually did get into the more complicated things of the matter.
Aryll was a name Asthar always did like calling the girl that was now his temporary partner. Aryllia always did just seem so formal so calling her Aryll just fit the girl and even now despite how cold and stoic the girl had become he still couldn’t help but desire to call her by that name. Despite that cold shell she put up she was still the Aryll he knew, at least that was what he believe. Nostalgia could be quite an annoying thing, but a nice reminder in a way as well. It was because of this that Asthar was not trying adamantly to hide his identity from the girl. Whether his identity would be revealed by himself or the girl merely depended on the situation, but there was no doubt that Aryll will learn of his identity.
The plan had been discussed and things were heading in a good position. They were in an agreement on what their next course of action was and Asthar could assume that Aryll got the gist of the situation and an understanding of the area. All that was left was to move out, but a compliment wouldn’t hurt…or at least that’s what he thought. Closing his eyes and putting on a nervous grin, Asthar held up his hands and let out an awkward laugh, almost as if her words were like a blade pointed at his throat. “eheheh….scary scary” Asthar said before lowering his hands and glanced back at the bandits hideout once more. “Message heard and understood, though you needn’t worry” Asthar said as he smiled a soft smile. “I may be a flirt…but I never overstep my boundaries…there is more to a woman than merely a pretty face and body after all…to pursue a woman merely for a reason like that is…hollow…ah but these are the mere words of a rouge so you can choose to believe them or not” Asthar could only speak these words with a smooth and calm tone that was a total difference from the childish tone he had used earlier.
Aryll began to detail the plan even further and it was something that Asthar was quite alright with. In this case it seemed he was going to be the bait while Aryll took the chance to dispose of the two archers. It honestly would have left a bad taste in his mouth if he let Aryll be the bait so he was glad he was taking that role. Should he execute this plan well then there really was nothing to worry about. With that out of the way another topic came up causing Asthar to look over at her and raise an eyebrow “hmm? Casualties?” Asthar said as he looked back at the camp. “Well that’s up to you really, I’m giving you the freedom to do as you wish really…though it would be nice to minimize the bloodshed” Asthar said looking over at her closing his eyes with a grin “blood is so hard to get off clothes you know” Asthar said before leaping off the branch he stood upon and gracefully landed onto the ground.
“Well then, its time we get this show on the road and kick some ass…” Asthar said as he begun to walk forward but suddenly stopped and glanced over his shoulder at the girl. “…I’m counting on you…” Asthar said with a soft yet warm smile before he immediately dashed forward. His steps were quick but light, dashing through the forest out of sight. Aryllia was right to say that the Shiekah really didn’t need help, but regardless the mission’s main goal was not one just merely for treasure. With almost no sound at all he continued to dash, finding the right spot as he held his sheathed sword resting on his waist. Once he did get to the ideal spot he moved his sheath so that it would hit a branch nearby and catch the attention of both archers. With their attention caught on Asthar’s area it was all up to Aryll next.
The Shiekah race had some quite interesting and unique abilities and powers that Asthar had the privilege to learn. Throughout his life he had been raised as both a human and a Shiekah, but Asthar always did have a preference for the latter side of his heritage. No matter how much his father tried to snuff out that side from him Asthar was adamant about learning from the Sheikah and never forsook that heritage. His crimson eyes were his pride in a way, but it wasn’t like he was ashamed of his human heritage as well.
The cloak that that he used to conceal him was merely an outfit he mostly wore when he acted mostly as a member of the Sheikah clan. Most didn’t even know of this disguise and even some of his close friends didn’t either. It was a simple disguise, but one he felt oddly attached to for some reason. In this case the Sheikah ability to transform into a disguise helped quite a deal with his dealings with Aryllia. While he could have just tricked the girl into joining him and removed any old costume he was wearing when she arrived, Asthar wanted to observe the girl a bit as she was normally. Rumors were a good start, but also unreliable as well. He wanted to see how the girl had changed with his own two eyes.
The forest was quite quiet for the most part, save the small commotion occurring not too far away from where he stood, but eventually a sound caught his ear. The sound of rustling leaves was barely caught by Asthar’s ears and in that moment his mercenary had finally arrived. His crimson eyes stared over at her as they narrowed and a smirk formed upon his face as he looked over at her, but almost in an instant Asthar suddenly pushed his back away from the tree he was leaning on and spread out his arms in a welcoming manner as he closed his eyes and grinned a cheerful grin as he faced her “Welcome! Yes! Miss.Aryllia! Can I call you Aryll?! Oh I am so glad to see you made it!” Asthar said happily before suddenly lowering his right arm and placed it over his chest and lowered his head in a bow while his left arm still remained up. “Ah, to have such a beauty to work alongside me!” Asthar said before raising his head to face her with an wink and a smile “Truly I am a fortunate man” Asthar said before quickly standing up straight and turned away to look over at their next destination “Ah, but enough about that, I’m sure you’d rather not hear me blab on…We’ll have time after we finish work” Asthar said with a small smile.
Even if Aryll didn’t want to talk after all this, even if she planned to run off and distance herself away from those she cared about, he still held the desire to at the very least speak to her once again. It was nice times back then, back when they all were together. It was a time of war, but in a way it brought everyone together. Unfortunately such a unity was a fleeting thing and something that brought people so close together only pushed each other father than before. Even so, one could merely complain about the separation, or merely do something about it.
“Now then, I’m not going to let you have all the fun so of course I’ll be coming along” Asthar said before beginning to walk and signaled her to follow. “The group is a rather new one, but one that has been growing popular as of late and has been able to hire a fair amount of people” Asthar said as he faced her and grinned a childish grin “Which means they got a shit load of money to be able hire such people” Asthar said before looking forward again. “hmm let’s see, they’ve got two small watch towers that are aren’t really high at all and two archers manning them. Those two will be a pain so we’ve gotta get rid of them” Asthar said as he begun to climb a tree and signaled his new partner to do the same in order to get a clear view of the bandit’s lair “The layout is completely crappy. Loads of crates and barrels that one can use to hide and the actual hideout is quite far from the watchtowers…real smart of them to just leave an abandoned bokoblin establishment the exact same way as it was when they got there…” Asthar said crouching on a tree branch before looking over at Aryll.
“Get rid of the archers and then we can do as we please…I don’t know what exactly the treasure is but I’m positive they have something interesting there… saying that it is most likely that we’ll be getting into a brawl with the bandits and of course you’re free to flee if that comes up, but it does sound a bit…fun and I'd love to have some fun with you” Asthar said playfully with a smile “judging by your outfit Im assuming you’re a speedy person…that will be helpful…oh and by the way really nice outfit!” Asthar said giving her a thumbs up as he closed his eyes with a very cheerful and childish grin. With that said Asthar looked back at the camp and narrowed his crimson eyes with a smirk “well then, whenever you are ready” Asthar said.
A cool breeze and the soothing sound of nature, truly this was quite a nice change of pace once in a while. To stand all alone deep within the forests of fairies was quite a nice feeling to say the least and he didn’t mind taking the time to enjoy this momentary solitude. Roaming around a forest was something that Asthar was quite all familiar with, but being the king of a demanding kingdom took time away from taking such strolls through the seas of trees. He did like the city life as well, but one did get bored quite easily when there was a whole world to witness.
A deep sigh was released as Asthar smiled softly as he stared upwards, looking past the branches and leaves overhead and gazed at the pure blue sky. With back resting upon the trunk of a sturdy tree and a warm and gentle breeze blowing by it truly was a nice moment that even the chirps and quirky noises belonging to nature were an odd treat. With how things were already ending up Asthar just wanted to relax and even take a nap, but his little trip to the forest was not just some mere casual stroll but a business trip, or at least that’s what he told himself.
Out of the three grand kingdom Holodrum had usually been seen as the home of the notorious shady for quite the numerous years, but it was quite amazing how that had changed all so quickly now that Hyrule had fallen into disarray and claimed the title for itself. With such a mighty and pure kingdom losing its ruler the way it did it only promoted others to go about gallivanting and doing whatever they damn pleased. It was just a pain in the ass really as these newbie bandits really thought they could get away with the same crap they did in Hyrule right in Holodrum.
“It almost time…” Asthar said softly to himself closing his eyes as he lowered his head and smiled a soft smile. His attire was rather simple, lacking any jewelry at all, but what covered his body was a long yellow coat with a hood that rested over his head. Most of his face was concealed by the shadow made from the hood over his head however one could still see his mouth and almost his bright red eyes.
A fair distance away from where he stood rested his target, the lair of sorts that a group of notorious roaming bandits claimed as their hide out. Normally merely seeking out a bunch of bandits was something that Asthar wouldn’t really find interest in and at most he’d usually leave to the knights of Holodrum should they get out of hand. Asthar did find some interest in this particular group and all that was needed was a mere spark to catch Asthar’s attention. He did have his other reasons, but one thing was that his sources did say that these so called bandits held a treasure that was worth flaunting. There were no details of what the treasure exactly was, but it was good enough to make Asthar curious enough to investigate and check it out and perhaps even claim it.
All that was left was for Asthar to merely wait for his partner to arrive so they could begin their little mission. A girl he was quite familiar with, but one he hadn’t seen in quite a while, she was another reason Asthar decided to set up this mission in the first place. Perhaps this was the only way that they could meet each other and while she was quite different from the girl he knew those years ago he believed that she was the very same girl he knew, albeit hardened from life’s cruel ways. It wasn’t easy to track her and even then he had yet to even face her just yet. The process of hiring was merely done through one of his men. A down payment was offered to the girl and the rest was up to her. To her at most this was described merely request of some treasure hunter seeking help from a mercenary in order to claim treasure from a group of bandits. She was promised half of the treasure along with the additional payment as well, but in general Asthar didn’t care about keeping the treasure, but more so the thrill of the adventure he would share with a dear friend Aryl.
Description: To slay those who pillage and plunder would be the role that is suited for a king correct? Perhaps this was merely a duty that needed to be done or maybe it was merely an excuse to reunite with an old friend. Anonymously, Asthar has hired the young Aryllia for a job involving claiming a so called treasure that a group of notorious bandits had been hoarding.
Base Requirements: Claim the treasure that was advertised by the sparkly king Difficulty Multiplier Requirements: Defeat the bandits that are adamant about their treasure
Almost as if a master plan had gone off successfully, Asthar’s crimson eyes narrowed as they once again looked over at Perseus with his smile growing into an almost devilish smirk. The man actually admit he had as much of a charm with women as him and did it right in front of Kura to boot! In the end Asthar actually agreed with Perseus’s words in a way, but still retained the belief that the only person holding him back was Perseus himself. At the rate he was going the young king would indeed find a compatible mate, but even then would he really know what to do at that moment? Merely sitting around was not going to find this so called perfect friend who would become a wife…even if said woman was sitting beside him.
Asthar merely closed his eyes and continued to smirk as he gracefully held up his hand and opened the palm “ah, charms, looks, manners and a kind heart, you are quite right Percy. It really is no surprise the ladies are completely head over heels for you” Asthar begun to say almost with a dramatic tone before chuckling softly “ah but my mistake, I’m sure you know what you are doing and you’ll find the girl of your dreams…eventually” Asthar said as he leaned against his chair and smiled softly as he crossed his arms “honestly though sometimes you make it sound as if I’m going around picking harlots to add to some harem or something of the sorts. Besides I’ve never said you’ll need to follow my…style…ah, but please carry on with your discussion” Asthar said as the serious discussion took place.
Zelda had endured quite a deal, more than even a queen should handle, but perhaps they were placing too much faith in a hero that may be unable to be saved. It was as they said, should Zelda be unable to save her love then how would that affect her emotionally? Would she even be able to complete her objective? Or merely toss her goal aside to live in grief? Zelda was strong and in a way Asthar had faith in whatever path she chose, but it was only a question of would she break from all the stress or not. In the end all Asthar could do in response was merely smile and nod back at Kura when acknowledged that Zelda was lucky to have him and Perseus as friends. “Just as well she is lucky to have siblings like yourself…” Asthar said calmly.
The discussion seemed to come to an end and it seemed the attention was suddenly drawn straight over to him all of a sudden. Asthar’s eyes widened a bit before he closed his eyes and continued to smile “Ah no need to apologize however two things…” Asthar said before raising his index finger “First thing is that you do not need to be so formal around me, I’d honestly prefer it there were no formalities” Asthar said before raising his middle finger as well “secondly, do not think of yourself as a burden or anything of the sorts. My meeting with Perseus was a mere casual one so you weren’t interrupting anything at all…if you are feeling tired don’t allow me to hold you back but if not….oh…” Asthar said but merely stopped mid-sentence as he eyes opened wide as he noticed something.
“ah that’s right, see right before you arrived I was planning on taking Perseus out to find himself a nice lady, if you’d like you can join as I think it would be quite fun if we went as a trio…” Asthar said holding his chin before suddenly closing his eyes with an innocent smile on his face as he faced Kura and tilted his head slightly “Though to be honest I think you and Percy would make a very cute couple” Asthar said cheerfully.
Was that actual snark from the goodie two shoes king himself? While sure Asthar knew Perseus wasn’t one who would merely allow somebody to walk over him easily, but damn did he not expect such a reaction so soon. In a way, seeing and hearing this was something that motivated Asthar at tad further than before. The concern Perseus felt for Kura after hearing Asthar’s plan was inching Asthar’s belief that there may indeed be something already between the former princess and the current king of Labrynna.
It was quite intriguing how earlier he was praised for his popularity with women by Perseus and now all of a sudden he was scorned by the very same person. Though such a reaction was something that amusing, Asthat did find it a bit disappointing that the man he treated like a brother thought so lowly of him. True he was a flirt, but he was no man who merely diminished a woman’s worth nor merely tossed them aside due to beauty. A smile on a fair maiden’s face is all he truly desired and there was more to beauty than just an outward appearance. If he was to explain how he felt then perhaps it would be like tasting a tiny smidge of bitterness in a delicious nectar, a bitterness that would quickly fade as quick as it appeared.
With the discussion starting up once more Asthar couldn’t help but narrow his eyes and smirk a sly smirk as he looked over at Perseus as he spoke about how he’d “love” to escort her around town and “get her in a comfy bed”. This smirk only lasted for less than a second as Asthar proceeded to compliment Perseus, though it seemed Percy didn’t take well to that. The compliment about Percy caused a reaction from both that was absolutely delicious. Those two were quite high strung and it was kind of annoying, but once they became more casual to each other perhaps there is where the chance would arrive.
His smiles was calm as he closed his eyes and continued to rest his cheek on his knuckle while taking another sip of his tea “Come now Percy, aren’t you getting a bit ahead of yourself? A simple compliment such as that has nothing to do with the fact that you are a clueless romantic…even though you are…” Asthar said letting out a small chuckle “Ah, but perhaps I’ve said too much, my apologies…” Asthar said.
And so another serious discussion took place between the two and Asthar merely listened in. Thinking back to his times alongside Link and the others as they proceeded to fight Seith, it was a nice time despite all that was occurring. They fought earnestly and as companions in arms. Everyone thought Link was dead, though the few believed he was still able to be saved and in a way Asthar believed it as well. The thing he wondered however was that if saving Link was going to really solve everything or merely create more animosity. All Asthar knew was should that hero be saved he would have to walk a thorn filled path that was for sure.
