The Wanderer of the Plains returns to the cold woods...
Arle flinched as Quin laid out a fresh fur ...skin for her. Oh gross! It was... decidedly moist, possessing a texture that could only be described as--well, flesh. There was a certain drying and tanning process that obviously couldn't be performed in this lonely cave to remove those properties. You'd really expect such a beautiful woman not to care so much for such a crude cloak. "...Nice~" Silvana remarked, apparently satisfied. The texture was gross, yes, but there was a certain charm to wearing your defeated foes. ...Yeesh. That was a dark thought. Sadistic, even. If wolves had souls she was asking for a wolf haunting. Perhaps she'd pay more mind to any disembodied howls she heard tonight. "I'll be back, Mr. Quin~" Silvana went on to remark, wrapping the cloak around her waist to help protect her legs before meantering her way out of the cave in search of low adventure. Her sword was decidedly up to the task of chopping up a tree, albeit reluctantly. It seemed undignified somehow, knowing just what laid inside the blade... Oh well--She was sure her father would understand. He'd promised the blade would not fail on her, anyway, a promise she could definitely appreciate considering she had so many things she was trying to learn in such a short span of time. The snow felt a little less painful against her skin now that she wasn't quite as exposed. Hopefully nothing would happen while she was away.
as the cave continued to warm up, he sat in the cave alone as she was out hunting, then he heard a soft yip sound in the cave, he turned his head, and saw a little white wolf puppy. the little one was looking at him with curious eyes shining with innocence, and came over to him. he smiled and held a hand out for it. the puppy came over and sniffed his hand, and started licking. he then moved his hand to rub its cheek, moving his hand to the top of its head next to begin petting it. his helm was back on as well. the puppy hopped on his lap and laid there, and began sleeping as he rubbed its back. he felt a strange connection, a warmth of sorts...he didn't understand it, but the feeling felt good somehow. he liked the puppy as it was definitely more friendly then the other wolves to be sure. he just watched the puppy, not entirely sure of what to do.
Silvana quickly returned to where they were earlier, a little anxious knowing there were apparently giant wolves about. Thankfully, nothing came to disturb her however. Finding the fallen tree, she decided to make use of it. Cutting down a healthy tree instead would just be wasteful. ...And slightly dangerous. When she got to the tree, though, Silvana realized that she didn't know what she was doing. It was a simple enough task, breaing the tree apart for easier carrying, but the actual way of going about it was foreign to her. She hadn't exactly worked with wood before. Deciding that hacking away at it sounded awful, she instead stabbed deep into the trunk. Placing one of her feet against the body to keep it from wriggling so much, she then gently yet firmly began to twist the blade back and forth, putting pressure on the trunk from within and widening the cut she'd made. Eventually she was able to widen the gap enough to see into, after which she withdrew her blade and stabbed again, this time penetrating the tree entirely. Digging in, she withdrew her blade a third time and hacked the weakened trunk apart. It was messy, but it got the job done.
...A good hour later, Silvana returns carrying a good hundred and fifty pounds of diced wood on her person, a sizeable chunk of the overall tree. Snow lingered at the tips of her eyelashes, giving one the impression that she was slightly frozen. The mage-knight did not stop to acknowledge the puppy, a little too overburdened with the weight she was carrying to be concerned with its existance. Dropping the wood, one could see her hunched body relax. It looked like she had challenged herself to carry as much as she could. Now somewhat exhausted, Silvana shifted some wood onto the fire. Because the wood was somewhat wet, it would take some time before it really started burning. However, since the fire was already going she wasn't too concerned about that It was only a matter of minutes at most.
Plopping down nearby, she curled her legs up against her ornate breastplate and hugged her knees for warmth, resting her chin upon them before the fire. Her gaze finally shifted to Quin and his new friend. It was strange to her that the pup was so warm towards him, but she supposed she may have missed some introductions while she was away.
"he was all alone here, in this formally dark and cold cave..." he spoke quietly as to keep the puppy from waking while looking at Silvana. a thought came to mind, in those strange memories he had, one time a symbol appeared, three golden triangles. he looked at Silvana and picked up a stick. "hey ms Arles, do you by chance know what this symbol means? it just appeared in my head one day and I have no clue what its supposed to mean." he asked as he drew the symbol of the triforce. watching Silvana with hopeful eyes, hoping she might be able to explain and give him another clue.
Silvana's chest tightened with anxiety as she watched Quin draw a familiar shape on the ground. He might notice the way she tensed slightly in recognition. For a long moment she was silent, contemplating how to phrase her answer. She didn't want to betray her allegiances, which meant that she had to be very careful not to use any gerudo rhetoric when discussing such a powerful symbol. "I know that best as part of the Hyrulian Royal Family Crest, but that specific part was called the triforce. I say was because it's gone now, just like the Kingdom of Hyrule. Destroyed. I don't know if we'll ever see it again in its former grandeur. I'm not too clear on the rules of these holy artifacts, but it seems pretty hard to put back together." Silvana explained in a matter-o-fact tone, neglecting to mention that she herself was in possession of a triforce shard. She didn't like the idea that Quin was stronger than her, but the idea that he could take the triforce shard from her and deprive her of what little power over her destiny she had gained bothered her intensely. The only thing keeping her from losing her composure knowing this was the knowledge that she didn't have to be stupid and let him know she had it. That meant he had no reason to challenge her, lending her some form of control over the situation.
