A vehement grunt from behind the man would tell him all he needed to know. Blue eyes shifting to glance at the darkened beast beyond the wooden construct. A lofty sigh was quickly replaced with a gentle smile of embarrassment. "Premium it is," he answered, eyes lowering to look at the small stable hand. He was expecting a more hefty individual to be working in such conditions, always surprising him when it was the latter. [break][break] "What is the cost of accommodating one burly beast for the night?... along with the feed...?" he asked with a half smile, trying to remember the amount of rupees in his pocket at the moment. If it was too much a price, he would likely be unable to pay for board in town, or even a hot meal, --but riding across the steep mountain path on a cranky horse would not be worth the warm feather bed. [break][break] The young man looked eager to bring his horse in, partially stepping out of the rain cover to retrieve the reigns. "I promise he won't be too much trouble..." voice low, conflicting his innocent features. He was tall, with a lithe frame. Nothing hinting at years of hunger, but rather broad shoulders underneath his black armor pieces. Under the cloak, a glint of silver from the belt around his waist. [break][break]
Rain splattered against leather and hide; trees groaning under water and wind. Dull heavy steps of a horse echoed on a rocky path, carrying a hooded rider into the populated village. Few people would stand under the downpour, while most would recluse in homes or businesses with roaring fires. Sounds of soft music and laughter reverberated from the tavern, its livelihood was something always dependable amongst the wooden buildings. [break][break] Black gloves pulled against brown reigns, steam rising from flared nostrils as steed halted on the wide road. With a somewhat graceful movement, the cloaked stranger descended from the black mount, his equally charcoal attire a stark contrast to the green scenery. [break][break] His destination was the stables, needing to feed the mountainous horse he traveled on, and hoping to hold up somewhere dry before heading up the mountain path. With the setting sun, the man was almost forced to stop for the night, as it was never safe to travel once the moon had risen. [break][break] Careful fingers tied horse to pole before walking up the steps, and past the open threshold. Pulling back his hood, a young man with dark hair and bright blue eyes shed the water from his shoulders before looking around. "I need to buy some oats..." a monotone voice calling out loud enough for someone to hopefully hear, but not with any eagerness or urgency.
Foltain Von Seraphim. A name that perhaps may have held meaning if life had different plans. A small boy, no older than six summers, born to a merchant of renown origin. Hyrule grew in prosperity, slowly after the great calamity, but growth regardless due to the generosity of the Seraphim family. Thirteen generations later, they were better off than most villagers, with lands and food plenty. But a surplus would eventually attract those that didn't care for land, title, or mercy. A roaming band of moblins that were destructive in their path, taking everything and killing those that tried to stand in their way. [break][break] A protective mother would see Folt hidden as clubs and crude spears tore into father, ripping apart crates and floor boards. Slaughtering cattle and setting fire to grain. Smoke filled lungs, and a black view as he fell into unconciousness. Only awakening hours later in the arms of a stranger. [break][break] Taken to the icy top of Snowpeak, the young boy would be fostered in with the garrison of soldiers that occupied the temple. Monster hunters. Slayers. Defenders. They were one of the only remaining orginizations that fought against the dark threat of monsters that creeped across Hyrule. Shadow Seekers. [break][break] Over more than a decade, the young boy trained and specialized in disposing of those that cast their darkness on his life. So that it may never happen to another soul again. Dedicating himself, he grew in rank, eventually being named Captain despite his youth. Serving under Lord Commander Alyra, Folt trains those that are brought into the corp, striving to bring out as much tenacity that he himself has.
