AGE: Unknown
RACE: Fairy
GENDER: Male
SEXUALITY: Pansexual
KINGDOM: The Glades of Labrynna
TRIFORCE: Power

Finvarra’s mind refuses to forget the many mistakes of his past and the tragedies he has caused, so much so that it has forced him to break away from society as a whole. He yearns for his mind to be wiped clean so he could forget everything that he had done.
The deep sorrows that he harbours have permeated his entire being, resulting in him adopting a distant mindset, separating himself from society. Emotion has been drawn out of him, such that his honeysweet voice now is inflicted with little intonation and any show of his current feelings are hard to tell.
Despite his solitary nature, Finvarra has a soft side that cares for the animals of the forests, and other such wildlife which dwells in nature. He sees them as similar to himself - acting upon instinct, by a function given to them as a tool - and prefers them over humans. That is not to say he will not approach humans, he finds talks with intelligent humans to be stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable, but to be of a baser joy than that of the natural world.
He has a calm atmosphere about him and will try to quell arguments and conflicts which arise in his presence - he will comfort the wounded and give aid to the sick no matter their affiliation - with his caring side being what attracts people towards him, like a child to a mother.
He values bonds of friendship above all else, believing that relationships created through love, in any form, are the most precious. Although he sees himself as a tool made by the Goddesses, his ability to perceive friendship is what allows him to surpass his limits and become more unique, striving towards such things with every choice.
If anyone takes an action that may harm such relations, he sheds his calm atmosphere for that of a the tool he was created to be, simply being near him causing an unnatural fear of a predator bearing down upon prey. For he does not hate to fight, but would rather there be no conflict, yet if he must - he will muster all his might to win in battle.

In ages past, legends told of a verdant forest on the top of a high mountain where a perpetual fountain lay, forever watched over by a Fairy whose name was known in Ancient Hylian as ‘Samil Esau’, or ‘The White Light’. He ruled over the Fae kin who roamed the lands, using his heaven-given powers to both protect his subjects and help those who came to ask his aid. And he helped many.
“Once upon a time, a shepherd herding sheep at the feet of the mountains where Samil Esau lay. He had wandered into his domain while looking for a missing lamb, and stumbled upon the domain of the Fae kin by mistake. Sensing his presence, Samil Esau awoke from his slumber and came to greet the shepherd, who was now quite afraid, and said to him, ‘Do not be afraid, mortal. None wish you harm in this place, rather I shall grant you any wish that troubles your mind.’ The shepherd was still worried for his missing lamb and so asked for its return. Samil Esau advised him to close his eyes, which he did, and when he next opened them, he was outside his small cottage along with all of his sheep - even the one that had been missing.”
Word of a Fairy with the power to fulfil the wishes of people spread among the countryside, inspiring many a traveller to go in search of his legendary residence, with few achieving success in this endeavour. Those who did, however, brought back stories of the wondrous sights that lay within his domain and, of course, tales of their fulfilled desires.
“A particular adventurer known for his daring feats managed to locate the mountain where Samil Esau lay. He was surprised that he had succeeded in place of the many who had failed and was unsure what he should do. Upon seeing him, Samil Esau greeted him and said to him, ‘Do not be afraid, mortal. None wish you harm in this place, rather I shall grant you any wish that troubles your mind.’ The adventurer was sceptical of this claim and, his mind tainted by greed, asked for wealth enough to buy a castle. Samil Esau advised him to close his eyes, which he did, and when he next opened them, he was in the fields by town and next to him lay a sack filled with all kinds of riches.’
As time passed, the greed within mortals increased, inciting them to seek the power of the Fairy for their own selfish purposes. For so is the human mind - to seek more than they have already - even when one has more than needed. But Fae kin are not mortal and are not bound to this constant want; they serve the purposes of Goddesses and so are always fulfilling the wishes of others, no matter the consequences.
“Now, there was a monarch of a kingdom with the intent to use the power told of in legends for his personal advancement who led an expeditionary force to the mountain where Samil Esau lay. So eager to obtain the power he dreamed of, the man shouted aloud that he wanted his wish to be granted. Having heard his words, he was greeted Samil Esau who said to, ‘Do not be afraid, mortal. None wish you harm in this place, rather I shall grant you any wish that troubles your mind.’ Consumed by his visions of power, the monarch asked for the power to crush the kingdom of his rival. Samil Esau advised him to close his eyes, which he did, and when he next opened them, he was standing on the top of a hill overlooking the border between his kingdom and his rival - a great crater had been carved into the earth, a sight that led to his rival relinquishing his lands out of fear.”
It was about this time that a young girl stumbled upon the Fairy’s fountain. She fell into a deep slumber after having crossed the threshold into his land and the Fairy decided he would treat her with the courtesy befitting a messenger of the divine, caring for her until the time when she would wake up. He learnt that she had been orphaned when her homeland had been ravaged by a rival kingdom - it became evident to him that it was the same kingdom whose leader he had so nonchalantly agreed to give aid to.
Obligated to raise her out of a newfound guilt, the Fairy saw her through childhood with the love of a parent, delighted in when she found a man who she wished to marry and cried when she passed away not long after. Unable to bear her loss, the Fairy withdrew his fountain of wish-granting into a mist that would bar entry for greedy mortals, his entire court fading into legend. His decision caused conflict between his court which resulted in him taking drastic action to quell these concerns. Unable to face his court, he locked himself within his palace in an eternal sleep that would allow him to ponder upon the final question which his daughter posed to him, ‘What purpose have you given to yourself in this life?’
Woken up after centuries of slumber by the appearance of the shattering of the Triforce, he has emerged once more with an idea on that question, naming himself Finvarra which in new Hylian means ‘Answering Voice’.
The earthy green of Finvarra’s long hair is what stands out most to the eyes, matching his emerald eyes which have lost their sheen; they stare endlessly into the distance as if there is something he wishes for beyond it. His body has become frail from inactivity, but still he holds himself with the pose of a king, his milky white skin shining with the radiance of authority.
His androgynous look lends itself to his honeysweet tones which caress the listener’s hearing - but his voice has dulled with age and pain, leading to a monotonous sound. He wears simple white robes which match this plain appearance, with undecorated sandals on his feet. It is only when his beautiful wings emerge from his back that he regains the grandeur of his previous self.
