Midna has lived for quite some time, and seen many of things. She joined forces with the Hero of Light, stopped a mad usurper and took her throne back. Her regality does not solely apply to her appearance, Midna is diplomatic when the mood calls for it and rather stern and stubborn when times arise. She has never been afraid of letting others know her thoughts on a subject, especially if that subject involves the Twili and Zant. She also has some choice words to say about Ganondorf. The former princess has all the training to be a charismatic ruler whom subjects would listen to with trust in their hearts, but the events of two hundred years prior and current events have made that difficult.
Despite a rather regal and diplomatic lifestyle, Midna is rather mischevious and witty. She finds herself often commenting rather sarcastically about others around her, especially if she's displeased with them. And though she had a royal upbringing, the woman is not above pulling practical jokes on others, usually close friends. Whom she has very few of nowadays.
Much of her life has been spent running, hiding, and generally distrusting most people even her own. Midna can be rather standoffish if you are an unknown to her, though her personality warms with time. She is distrustful by nature now, but not unwilling to become allies if it serves her purposes.
With time, it's easy to find Midna to be quite compassionate, she was once willing to sacrifice herself for the good of her only two friends. Brought back to life by the power of the Light, Midna has learned to temper her responses to this realm and its denizens. She is aware that her two friends have come and gone, reincarnated again and lacking the memory of her. After her destruction of the Twilight Mirror, Midna had managed to find a way back into the realm of Light, once she visited her Link in his older age, and then again when she fled the Twilight Realm the second time.
The former princess is also pragmatic. She understands well that her life has been a mix of misfortunes and luck that have kept her going. And in light of recent circumstances, she has adopted a rather reserved attitude. Keeping to herself in this realm until she can find the Hero or Zelda once more.
LIKES
[attr="class","scroll"]
Quiet; Midna has grown to enjoy solitude more than she imagined and now much prefers to be in quiet places where she is allowed to think and be on her own.
Link & Zelda; possibly the only friends she truly has ever had, Link and Zelda grew a special place in her heart some hundred years ago, and she longs to see them again, even if they are the reincarnations.
Fashion; a rather trivial pasttime, Midna has a fondness for dressing up and knowing the latest fashions wherever she goes. Though she keeps a low profile, she rather enjoys looking her best.
Magic; it's a part of her, and thus she enjoys studying the shadow magic of her realm.
DISLIKES
[attr="class","scroll"]
Zant + his followers; the reasons she has fled her kingdom multiple times, and she has a healthy hatred and fear of them. But she also plans to stop any resurgence.
Current Twilight Realm Monarchy; the ones who have taken her place may not directly be at fault, but it is her home and her throne, and they have allowed Zant sympathizers to exist.
Light; despite her immunity after her resurection, she spent much more time in her own realm and thus is not a fan of bright lights.
Cities; as someone in hiding, large crowded places make it easier for some to notice her and who she is. She sticks to quieter areas to be safe
MOTIVATIONS
[attr="class","scroll"]
To restore her throne; done with being usurped and threatened, Midna plans to raise a backing to take her home back. Once and for all.
Help the Heroes; Zelda once sacrificed herself for Midna when she least deserved it, the least she can do is repay the favor in any way she can and help her newer self.
Seek vengence on those who wronged her; a dream she has long had, a time will come when she can teach those who have wronged her what she is capable of
FEARS
[attr="class","scroll"]
The return of Zant or another like him; if Zant were to return again, withoutt the Fused Shadows or the Mirror, Midna does not know if she could stop him or someone similar
The Light Realm being lost; should this realm be lost, her friends would be as well and she would never be able to repay them for all they have done.
The Twilight Realm lost to her; her home, despite what it has done. She would rather see it again than see it fall.
Never seeing her friends again; though the Link and Zelda she knew are gone, they live still through their new selves, and should even they be lost to her it would be a tragedy.
HISTORY
Several hundred years ago, Midna had been chosen to rule the Twilight Realm. Born into the nobility and raised to be a diplomatic and graceful ruler, she was a natural choice for the role. She had been fair and firm, diplomatic, and the Twilight Realm had maintained peace within itself for quite some time. Its people were happy and adored their Princess. When a servant of the throne, Zant, sought to usurp power for himself he turned to the one creature who could help him. Ganondorf granted him powers to strike Midna from her throne and cursed her to the form of an imp.
Fleeing her own realm, Midna took a piece of the Fused Shadows with her. Leaving her own realm, watching her own people turned to beasts being one of the hardest things she had ever done, but she would never be able to stop Zant on her own.
With the help of the Hero of Light, Link. Midna stood beside him in his quest to stop Zant and Ganondorf; and though her intentions were purely selfish for a time, the two became close friends throughout the ordeal. The Hero helped her gather the other pieces of her Fused Shadow and put a stop to Zant's 'rule' over the Twilight Realm.
Over the course of their quest, Midna faces Zant and nearly dies, her reliance on the shadows making it difficult to stop him with the power granted by Ganondorf. Her life only given because of Princess Zelda, who sacrificed herself to save her. Forever in her debt, and renewed, Midna follows Link to finally stop Ganondorf once and for all.
In return for Zelda's sacrifice, Midna helps defeat Ganondorf and restore the Princess to her own body. Dying in the process only to be brought back by the Spirits of the Light. With Ganondorf defeated, Midna uses the Twilight Mirror to go back to her own realm, knowing that they needed her first and foremost. She had wished Link goodbye and told him she would see him later, and she has always intended to keep that promise.
Over two hundred years since then, Midna had ruled the Twilight Realm with relative ease. Zant sympathizers had been routed out and stopped before they built up any strength. Her rule had been fair, and she had been just, but it wasn't enough for the resurgences who built up their strength and once again deposed her of her throne. Once again usurped and pushed from her own realm, Midna has fled to the Isle in search of the reincarnations of her friends in the hopes that they will be able to help her take back her throne. The young woman plans to stand alongside her friends once again in the trials that they face.
As of now, the former princess resides in the Realm of Light, using her magic to disguise herself amongst the populace until she can find her friends once again. Unaccustomed to this realm, Midna finds herself rather lost in Hyrule without Link as her guide again. And while her long ago revival due to Zelda and the Light Spirits have mad her immune to the effects of daylight in this realm, the princess finds herself hiding and traveling in the shadows once again.
APPEARANCE
Midna, in her true form is a rather lithe and curvy figure with pale blue-gray tinted skin with markings of black in specific areas. She also has lighter blue-green tattoos along her skin that are rather distinctive for the Twili, but also mark her a royalty. Her hair is rather long, usually partially up in a headdress and is bright red and orange. Her eyes are mainly red, with gold on the outer irises.
The princess prefers to dress in the height of fashion for Twili, and is less than modest about her wardrobe, often wearing garb that shows off much of her skin while maintaining an elegant look. As royalty she would often be seen in a rather simple but elegant headdress, though now her hair is usually tied up and away to simply free her of its burden. And with her newfound fugitive status, she tends to wear heavier cloaks to hide who she is.
MAGIC
Twilight Portals Shadow Magic Midna can harness her natural give of shadows and use it to teleport herself small distances. The magic takes some time to prepare (one full post) and use and cannot be used on the fly. With it though, she can quickly travel or try to escape potential danger. (can only be used once a thread)
Imp Form Transmutation Once cursed to the form of an Imp by Zant, Midna was later freed with the help of the Hero of Light. Now, when necessary she can transform between her normal form and the form of an Imp, used primarily to travel between shadows. [Instantaneous transformation, can only be used for one full transformation twice a thread]
+ Shroud: Twili have the ability to become one with the shadows around them, making them masters of stealth. They can hide in a shadow of any size while they are in the Realm of Light.
- Weak to Light: Twili are vulnerable to light based attacks and sunlight, taking extra damage from those kinds of magic.

In the twilight dusk of her realm, Princess Midna had sat on her throne for hours. Her daily ritual of listening to all that the Twili of her realm had to say, while taxing, was rewarding. She prided herself on the fairness of her rule, and when she and the hero had stopped Zant, she was sworn to uphold this kingdom to its highest standards. No more would men whisper and plot behind her back. Every insurgent had been dealt with quickly and cleanly, and she had spent so many years ruling successfully. She had not expected this.
Entering her throne room, five men dressed in the robes of royal servants entered. But it had not been their robes the tired princess had noted first, no, it was the masks. Those curling lizard faces of stone and horror, and once again she was a younger woman being banished from her home and cursed by a man of no importance.
"Who are you?" she asked, the command of a queen in her voice as she sat upright in her throne, staring down these mask, red eyes ablaze with fury and fear. The men did not answer, simply approaching in rank until they were nearly upon her and Midna's two guards; spears pointed at them.
"Your Princess asked you a question, halt and answer!" she could hear one of her guards bellowing, but it was through a wind tunnel. Her focus had zeroed in on these men until the throne room was a blur and her heart was pounding in her ears. Her cool hands gripped the stone of her throne until she could nearly feel her skin ready to tear at the pressure. No words thrown would stopt them, these were the ones who had gotten past all her security, past every threat and act she had made at making her kingdom safe. Once again, she was losing her throne to a no one, and this time she was prepared.
"Words will not work on these men guards, kill them. Now," she spoke, her voice calm as she stood from her throne and faced down those stone masks. "You will not destroy my kingdom again, I will make you pay for what you have done." Midna strikes out with the power of shadows on her side, ripping through one man as two take on her guards. She pays no attention, ready to defend her throne until her death. There would not be another Zant on this throne, not while she lived. She strikes at another, but there are still two men standing and advancing. Her guards are gone, and it is just her in this room with these men.
For a moment, Midna studies the architecture, the layout of cold gray and blue, while outside the world is tinted almost purple in the dusk. She studies the bright blue of magic in intricate shapes along the walls, her heart still pounding loud enough to make her vision shake. She knows this will be the last time she sees this place.
"Show me the faces of the men who would strike down their princess," she demands, her back as straight as an arrow, chin held up defiantly as flames of red hair cascade loosely around her shoulders and down her back. One by one, the men remove their masks and stare into the burning eyes of a woman betrayed. Midna marks each of their faces, sears them into her brain with revenge, and takes one step off the dais of her throne. Then another. And another. One more step and she's on the ground before them, staring at them as equals.
"You will be stopped." she tells them, looking into their cold eyes. Two men grab her arms, one on each side. Gripping tightly. As they hold her, more men in the same masks begin to enter until they practically fill the room.
"You will regret laying a hand on your princess." with every ounce of courage still within her, Midna focuses down on that dark piece of magic she possesses, and in one steady breath unleashes its power across the throne room. Like thunder rolling the building shakes with the magic as those hands release her in the chaos. Shadows swirling all around her, Midna, knowing her fate flees. She races to the entrance, fleeing her kingdom as she uses her power to open one last portal from her kingdom, to a place she hasn't seen in many years. To faces she hasn't seen. Midna looks back at the throne room, staring at the chaos inside, even as they start to contain it. She memorizes those faces and that mask once more, and steps through the portal and into the Realm of Light.
