PERSONALITY
This rito isn't exactly a peppy social butterfly, on the contrary there's only so much socializing that Bantha can stick out before retreating for some well-needed alone time. Not to say she's a outcast among others, Bantha can be quite polite and forthcoming if the situation calls for it; she just won't put much effort into instigating conversations if there's no need. Being a little on the shy side, she much prefers to play the part of silent observer than stick herself into the spotlight. While preening as much as any other rito in the face of praise, she doesn't hang on it in order to validate her own accomplishments.
A little impulsive when it comes to taking risks. Since she was a child Bantha was often on the receiving end of scoldings due to her dicey flight maneuvers; which tended to result in bruises and displaced feathers. She'll admit shamelessly that she's a bit of an adrenaline junkie when it comes to flying but she's not quite so tactless when it comes to handling other things. Bantha's quite perceptive of shifts in moods; she known when she should keep quiet and let others do the talking in favor of gleaning some hidden interactions that would otherwise be overlooked. That said, there's times she can't help but goad others, if only to gain the satisfaction of getting a rise out of them.
While she does care for children, maternal wouldn't be the word to describe her. She cares for children and their well-being of course, but Bantha's more likely to indulge in her childish side and join in with their games rather than watch over them while they play. Perhaps even encourage them to try new and exciting things that may borderline on dangerous. Though in her mind so long as she's supervising she feels their safety is assured. Needless to say it puts her in a negative light among many parents.
As well as around children, Bantha's personality is much more mellowed when she's with friends. She'll laugh, converse, become playful and even joke; albeit morbidly with her dark sense of humor. At her heart she's a free-spirit who doesn't like to be chained down by the weight of expectation. A trait she inherited from her father. It was her mother's wishes for Bantha's future that prompted her to join the battalion, a rebellious and admittedly spiteful action on her part. Though vain with regards to her appearance, Bantha has no interest in becoming an entertainer like her father or a pretty bird in a gilded cage like her mother.
LIKES [attr="class","scroll"] • Food - Has a love for all manner of spicy meals and feels compelled to add spice to almost anything she eats, leading to some odd combinations. Though ironically, her favourite treat is un-spiced carrot cake. • Sunrise - It's not an uncommon thing for Bantha to wake before dawn. This early riser enjoys the peaceful atmosphere that comes with watching a sunrise where she can mull over her thoughts in silence. • Marksmanship - Possesses in inherent natural ability with a bow and an accurate toss. Honing these skills daily is less of a chore and more of a game for Bantha. She's always on the lookout for a challenging target to make her arrows latest mark. • Art - Her perfectionist nature often leads to her discrediting her own artistic skills when in actuality they're quite excellent. Very rarely is Bantha without a leather bound sketchbook, eagerly drawing away at whatever scene or creature suits her fancy. • Speed - As any rito, she loves flying, to the point where the more speed the better. Free-falling, acceleration and close-call collisions form a large part of Bantha's style of flight and she loves every heart-racing moment of it. • Music - Her father was a musician. So, Bantha grew up in a home filled with wonderful music to which she would often sing along to. Humming and singing to herself is second nature and, being a rito, those melodies are pleasing to the ears of listeners. Carries a wooden transverse flute carved for her by her father. | DISLIKES [attr="class","scroll"] • Failure - In her mind there is nothing more aggravating or insulting than failing a task. When she puts her all into something Bantha expects gratifying results. She'll get broody otherwise. • Mushrooms - They're gross and they're squishy. Not even her best spice can mask that revolting texture. Why anyone would want to consume such an ugly looking fungus she'll never know. Not that she even wants to. She'll painstakingly pick them out of her food for the greater good. • Caves - Enclosed spaces tend to mean no flying and not being able to do such makes Bantha feel trapped. They don't send her into a panic but she has little love for areas where her mobility is impaired. • Thunderstorms - Pretty to look at but not so kind to fliers. Much like caves she'll feel grounded during a violent storm but if the need ever arises she'll brave the flight through one. Provided she's carrying nothing metallic. • Alcohol - Makes her head fuzzy and her throws off her sense of balance. One sure fire way of getting Bantha to dislike you is trying to get her drunk. She hates the taste, smell and doesn't much care for distorted senses. • Perfumes - Too strong of a scent and it makes her nose hurt something awful. She doesn't understand why many individuals mask their natural scents as they do. Not only does it smell awful but it paints a fairly large target on their backs |
MOTIVATIONS [attr="class","scroll"] • Spite - Not exactly a noble cause, but Bantha's need to prove her mother wrong is undoubtedly a driving force toward her need to better herself as a warrior. Her pride tells her there's nothing more gratifying than proving others wrong. • Travel - Bantha's not labelled a home-bird, as much as she cherishes her home. The world is a large place and even more accessible for a rito with wings. She want's to experience it all. • Artist - She'll never admit to her mother but she does want to become something of a renown artist as well as a soldier. It's another trait that urges her to travel to far off places when she can. | FEARS [attr="class","scroll"] • Aquaxenophobia - The sky is vast, but it's predictable. There's very few who dwell there aside from rito but oceans and lakes are another thing entirely. Simply put, vast bodies of deep water gives her the creeps yet her favourite song is about the ocean. • Loss - Wander-lustful as she is, Bantha loves her home and couldn't bare to see her city or her people fall to ruin. There's always a fear of schemers lurking in the shadows all to keen on overthrowing the peaceful order of their state. • Death - Bantha doesn't fear death so much as she does a meaningless one. When her time comes she want's it to be on her own terms and not be written off as another statistic. |
APPEARANCE
As with any rito, the most notable aspect of her appearance is her feathers. Bantha's in particular are an iridescent array of purples, pinks and the occasional subtle blue sheen in the right light. Her large wings begin protrude at her forearm, reminiscent of sleeves when not used for flight. Her hair - while appearing as such - is in actuality finer strands of thin feathers. Frayed and styled into a low and messy side-tail giving a haphazard and choppy image. These feathers gradually become more noticeable upon forming the two appendages alongside her head that act as ears.
As a rito she stands at 5'7" and finds herself more oft than not staring slightly down at those she meets of other races with the odd exceptions. Overall her build is lithe. Perfect for agility and lightly toned muscle - while not granting her overt strength - let's her pack just enough of a punch provided she can get enough movement behind it. Her bright amber eyes are in stark contrast to her pale complexion, further accentuate by red tattoos travelling along her cheekbones. Facial features finalized by full lips and a silver ring piercing on her left nostril.
Bantha's clothing is specifically tailored to be form-fitting but not so restrictive as to impair her movement on both land and in the air. Layered strips of leather and cloth make a muted pink tunic with a thick fur in-lining to brave the colder temperatures that come with the high elevation of the City in the Sky. Her bird-like feet are tipped with sharp talons and in similar fashion to her tunic, dark leather wraps cover the entirety of her legs. She wears a hooded capelet with silver accents coupled with two openings for her feathered ears, tied off around her shoulders with a thin rope and fastened with an ornate clasp bearing two golden feathers.
MAGIC
• Flight - The rito possess the ability to fly due to their feathery wings.
• Heat Resistance - Perhaps because of their previous home to volcanoes in the past, the rito find it easy to live in hot climates.
• Calamus Carnival - A spell that imbues Bantha's wing feathers with arcane energy to reinforce and sharpen them to a fine point. The quills can either be used in a flurry of long range projectiles or to lash out as blades in close combat.

WEAPONS
• Ebonhawk [x] - Bantha's trusty bow. Appears reminiscence of two birds in flight, carved from sturdy blackwood and minutely accented with gold resin. It's one of her most prized possessions.
EXTRAS
• Transverse Flute - Once a simple piece of wood now carved and ornately wood-burned with rito markings. It was a gift from Bantha's father for her eight birthday and not a day goes by that she doesn't practice with it.
• Leather Book - A simple leather-bound book. One of many that the rito uses to compile her sketches and once filled to capacity will join the growing pile in her bedroom.
• Gold Feathers - The two feathers pinned to the clasp of her cloak are treasured just as much as her bow for reasons known only to her.
