Adagio slowly made his way along the shoreline of Lake Hylia, absentmindedly watching the water as he went. The occasional ripple broke the glass-like stillness of the water, be it from fish below the surface or from creatures startled by his presence, leaping into the water as if their lives depended on it. He, of course, meant them no harm. No, Adagio was just passing by, stopping by one of his favorite places. It was not the first time that Adagio had been to Lake Hylia. He'd been down this shore plenty of times before. He had some small love for the lake, which was well enough given how often he passed it; Lake Hylia was smack dab in the middle of many a popular road.
Adagio came to a stop, and turned to face the lake in full. The sun was setting now, and the red-orange glow fell on the water, lighting it up like fire. An oxymoron, he mused, but a beautiful one. With a grin, he stopped to the ground and retrieved a single stone, smooth and fine, worn away by countless waves. He held it in his hands, running his fingers over it. He palmed it, feeling the cool weight of it. And in a flash, he cocked his arm back and let the stone fly. It shot through the air and glanced off the surface: once, twice, and a third time before finally falling below the surface. "Not bad," he muttered to himself, "My old record is still four, though."
With a sigh, Adagio retreated from the waterline, headed for somewhere drier. Perhaps it was time to settle in for the night. His sword bounced against his hip as he trudged up one of the hills near the lake. As he crested it, he turned back to face the lake in full. It was beautiful in the sunset, a mixture of red, blue, and orange, reflecting the very sky itself. The young Hylian stood there a moment, in silence. But only a moment: now, it was time to set to work. Dropping his bag on the hill, Adagio set to getting kindling together. It took the traveler only a few short moments to get the structure ready, and only a moment more to get a small fire burning.
And with that, Adagio sat back, staring into the flames. Retrieving some of his food from his bag, Adagio got to munching. He'd sit here a while longer, but he'd have to get moving soon. He needed to find shelter before dark, though he knew a place or two to settle in for the evening. That was one of the benefits of passing by often: one got to know all the haunts. Now, he thought, he could just do with some company. It was strange, though: he'd not seen anyone else all day. Though perhaps this would change. After all, Lake Hylia was a popular enough destination and it was not as if he was hiding. No, he was perched on top of hill with a fire burning. The young Hylian would be quite easy to spot.
