Goron culture has always revolved around pride of their people, stalwart as stone and firm as a mountain, and as such not much was taught to the children outside history in their context. But some discerning eyes knew there was a world beyond their mountain, and one such mind was Frida, a sharp student who always pushed the limits of knowledge taught to them. They wanted to know more of the people beyond the Goron, because history couldn’t possibly be all about the Goron alone, right? Their studies led them to researching the religion around the Golden Goddesses, the Goron’s worship of the Goddess of Power, and they wondered if others shared their beliefs. This led them to a pursuit of exploration, even from a young age venturing from home to find ruins, and speak of to other races.
Frida was always considered a bit of an odd duck, though their friendly disposition and willingness to listen made them plenty of friends, among which included Brynja, daughter of one of the finest smithing families. Frida had always admired the handiwork of the family, and they hit it off well enough. But none of the kids, even her friends, really paid attention to her studies and findings, and as she grew, it only drove her more to achieve her goal. She was determined to see this through.
She saw a chance to present her findings, and propose the isolationism of the Goron be stopped, when Brynja stepped up to the chieftain role, but she was turned down, told her ideas went against the very nature of the Goron. In a fit of rage, she let her emotions get the better of her, and yelled at the chieftain mid-court, telling her their ancestors would be ashamed. She was quick to realize her error, and made her leave, hastily assembling her gear. On that day, Frida left the Goron Village, and never found herself returning. She found refuge on a snowy mountain, hunting and trading with the other races for food, and dedicated her life to traveling the land, studying much more than she could tied down in the village. She wasn’t sure how Brynja felt about her leaving, or even how any of her people did, but she knew, someday, she’d get through to them.
SIGHT OF TRUTH: A minor version of the magic put into the lens of truth, Frida can see things hidden from the normal eye upon activation, usually meant to find secret writing or hidden tunnels in ruins. [break][break]
RACIAL ABILITY: + Fire Resistance: The goron race reside in hot climates, and were once a race of stone, making them immune to the touch of flames. [break][break] + Tough Skin: Because of their evolution from a stone race, the goron people still retain a tough skin that allows protection from blunt weapons. [break][break] - Weak to Water: Gorons do not bode well with water (however this does not mean that they cannot swim!) and will take extra damage from water type magic. [break][break]
