Bureaucracy, politics, all that hogwash he had swore when he was younger was all over his head.So much of it loomed over his head with his new status, and as much as he sought to help Zelda where he could, in diplomacy and in court, he needed an escape from it all. So when he heard word of a new cave found in the mountains, filled with lost treasures and lost monsters, he knew the mission would be his. But there was an issue.
He obviously wouldn't be the only one to call to duty.
So he set out, the Master Sword at his waist instead of on his back, in a simple scabbard, and a normal arming sword in its place on his back. He wore a hood up, hiding anything above his nose from view without close observation, and simple clothes. If anyone were to join him in the request, it would be best they saw him as a simple adventurer, and not the Hero of Legend, nor of the prince-consort. It'd be much less of a headache, at the very least.
It was two day's travel to the cave, and he could already see Moblins lurking at the entrance from the vantage point he took some distance away. Watching also came with the benefit of anybody else willing to help showing up, so he waited, Epona grazing nearby safely as he watched, waiting.
It had taken a while, but Randio was sure he was getting close to his destination. The environment matched the description he had been given, at least. The old man at the tavern would tell the tale of this place to anyone who would hear it, getting drunker and drunker as the night went on. Not one to usually listen to drunken man's tales, Randio was nevertheless intrigued, and made sure he paid attention to the consistent elements of the man's story. After recent events, he needed a win. Some way to prove himself. A cave full of monsters and treasure would do more than perfectly. And even if the man's story turned out untrue, Randio could still take solace in escaping daily life for a couple of days.
He knew he wouldn't be alone. The old man's ramblings were the talk of the night and started buzzing throughout town. Randio had seen a couple of others travelling in the same direction, but it seemed most of them had given up. Or perhaps just taken a different pathway. Regardless, he was now alone, but wouldn't be surprised if there were still others around.
He went along the closest thing that resembled a pathway, and started noticing... tracks, probably? None he could exactly identify. His master had taught him a bit about identifying tracks, but he was drawing a blank here. They were big, though. Could be Gorons. They tend to hang out on the mountains. He continued walking, trying to look for any signs of life. He took his blade out of its scabbard. He could not yet see anyone or anything, but it couldn't hurt to be cautious. As he went on, he would eventually make out something resembling the entrance of a cave. As he got closer to his purported destination, he picked up the pace. If anyone else would have been around, they would probably have noticed his present nearby.
Were it not for the Moblin's battle cry before they swiped at him, he wouldn't have noticed anyone was around. The pigfolk's spear grazed the young Hylian's gambeson. Dangit. That almost got me. He took a swing of his blade at his foe, but it was parried by another sword, belonging to the other moblin.
