"Hold it. What... is that." Silvana asked in a rhetorical tone, a look of bemused disgust on her face. She stared down at the small woman before her, a pretty little thing that had no business among the gerudos. She didn't understand why the girl had accepted her plea for help, but she wasn't all that picky on this particular mission. She was just a neutral third party to sit by the sidelines and watch so that there could be no denying her triumph. Even still, when she'd asked her to come along she wasn't expecting ... this. The girl was holding a parasol in her arms, as if she were expecting rain. There wasn't a cloud in the sky though, so what business did she have bringing that tool along their journey? Silvana smelled shenanigans and she wasn't having it. She needed answers before they set off, so that she could determine if the girl she'd invited was some sort of loon.
Marin froze where she stood like a deer in headlights, apparently unsure of what Silvana was referring to. Well, this round eared girl certainly wasn't very articulate. She could be referring to anything, of course! By following Silvana's judging gaze, however, she was able to guess that the other was referring to her parasol. She shifted her arms a bit, offering the other an inviting smile. She had decided to forgive the other for her rather ungracious comment. "Oh, um... This is a parasol! It's to keep the sun off of me." Marin explained in an earnest attempt to be helpful. Clearly, this was just a small misunderstanding. It could be sorted out in an instant and they could be on their way. Certainly nothing to fight about...
" . . . "
Silvana stared Marin down for a moment in disbelief, decidedly unimpressed. She was giving the other a chance to try saying something a little less stupid, but Marin only shifted uncomfortably under her burning gaze. She could see that Silvana was not happy with her, not in the slightest. "...I hope you don't act like this the entire way. I won't have time to babysit some frail little waif that thinks the sun will slay her. You'll look like a clown." Silvana remarked rather flatly, attempting to drive Marin away with harsh words. Well, if the sun scared her who knew? Maybe words would too. Frankly, she wouldn't consider it a loss at this point.
Marin flinched in response to Silvana's cruelty. What was happening?? Why was this conversation all wrong?! She was being treated cruelly and without reason! She deserved better than ...this! The now mildly distraught girl was quick to respond after the initial shock wore off, not wanting to allow this yet another slight against her to slide without acknowledgment. "...Princesses don't get tans, Ms. Arles!" Marin whined in protest, eliciting a bewildered and shocked response from the other woman. Princess?? ...Ugh. She was starting to hate this girl already. What would a princess even be doing out here, interacting with her of all people? She had to be some sort of delusional child, there was just no way that was real. "...I don't want to burn up, is all. I'll be fine. Maybe you should carry one too. Your skin's even fairer than mine." Marin went on to remark, pointing out the discrepancy and drawing a stunned look from Silvana. The mage-knight-errant was both insulted and impressed by Marin's seemingly legitimate concern for her wellbeing. ...Maybe she was just an idiot! Either way, she reluctantly turned about and beckoned for Marin to follow her. She had decided to show this simple girl her world, in hopes that she might learn something.
"...Fine then. You can bring your silly sunshield, but if anyone asks you're to tell them you're just a kid come to learn about my people. None of this princess nonsense. I'm not going to come to your rescue if you act like a fool and wind up being challenged to a duel. Now if you don't mind, I'd like to get a move on. I don't much care to fight after sun down, and believe me when I say you won't enjoy the beds we have to offer you, 'princess'." Silvana remarked somewhat mean-spiritedly. At the very least, she was going to try and have some fun at the other's expense. It would be the only thing that kept her from lashing out at the other.
Marin anxiously shifted closer to Silvana as they faced off against a pair of guards, rather intimidating looking gerudo women that frankly towered over the tiny princess. Silvana, in contrast, seemed unimpressed. "What's the matter, ladies? Don't recognize me~?" she sassed in a tone that was slightly mocking. The guards sneered at her in response and drew their weapons, preparing to chase this arrogant interloper off. To them, this appeared to be a hylian woman taking shots at their femininity for some unknown reason. Unfazed, Silvana waited patiently for them to get a bit closer before continuing. "That's not how you greet an old friend, Ilis." Silvana remarked, causing one of the guard's to stop in their tracks. The other seemed to catch onto this after a moment and stopped to question her partner with her eyes. Ilis seemed perplexed for a moment, confused as to why this outsider knew her name, before it suddenly occured to her. That voice... "But since you're so eager--Let's have a duel, shall we? I'd like a little payback for that scar you gave you gave me on my forehead." Silvana went on to remark, her body beginning to shimmer in the air. Marin was understandably bewildered. She hadn't seen any scars on Silvana's face! Frankly, she was a beautiful woman if you ignored the less than pleasant way she always looked at you. Before her eyes, however, Silvana's body began to melt away into something else entirely. Her skin changed shades entirely, revealing that she was indeed covered in various scars where fights had gotten too vicious. Her hair became more orange and messy. Even her clothes changed too, as if she'd just transformed right before Marin's eyes! What was going on here?!
Ilis seemed just about as shocked as Marin was, but this didn't hold her back for long. "Whatever you say, runt." the apparently failiar gerudo guard retorted, lunging out to meet Silvana in combat. The other guard, seeming to recognize that this had just gotten very personal, decided to back off and let the cat fight resolve itself. Someone needed to make sure this fort was secured, anyway... Ilis thrust her spear at Silvana, only for the mage-knight to predict her heavily telegraphed attack and slide aside, allowing the spear to slide past her as she stepped forward to punish her opponent for their reckless attack. With a wide sweep, she brought her sword down over Ilis' shoulder and caught her trying to duck the attack, cutting deep into her shoulder with her blade. A scream of alarm filled the air as Ilis found herself wounded. It looked like it hurt for her to moe that arm, but the gerudo warriorr powered through the pain to bounce back and drive Silvana back with a couple of quick jabs, walling her out with the spear's superior range. "Oooh~ That looked like it hurt. A lot more than a fist, right~?" Silvana teased in a sugary sweet tone, calmly circling Ilis from outside her range like a predator stalking her prey. She didn't have an opening, but with any luck one would eventually present itself. "M-Ms. Arles! Careful! You don't want to kill her, do you..?" Marin called out, frightened by the very serious lookng fighting going on. That woman was hurt! What would her sister thing if she sat spectator to a bloodbath..?? "...Hush, sweetie. Everything will be alright." Silvana replied somewhat dismissively, earning Marin's silence by insulting her pride again. By the goddess--Why did this woman have to be so frustrating to work with? This really wasn't the time for this! "Aww... Is that little tot yours? She's even more of a runt than you." Ilis taunted as she sluggishly paced around Silvana, taking a moment to catch her breath. "Mmmh... I"m working on her~ For now though, I'm working on molding you into a nice, soft paste." Silvana replied ever so coldly. Nearby, the irritation on Marin's face was very overt as she inadvertantly became an insult, somehow. She was so done with this fight... It looked like Silvana and Ilis were both trying to wear eachother down for the moment being, a fight that Silvana decidedly had the advantage in, given that her opponent was currently bleeding out--just a little. Marin just hoped she wouldn't have to answer for any of this bloodshed. Why couldn't they just use training weapons, something non-lethal, or better yet talk about their problems?? ...Gerudo culture decidedly wasn't for her.
Meanwhile, Silvana waited patiently for Ilis to take another strike at her. She knew that after inflicting a painful wound the other would be interested in compensating for that. The likelihood of her actually attacking was rather low if she kept her guard up. She needed to tempt the other without revealing what she was planning if she wanted to a clean victory. "You know, I still owe you for all the times you hit me. It's only going to get worse if you keep trying." Silvana remarked rather backhandedly. "...Let's just call this interest, then." Ilis would reply, taking a step forward and jabbing the spear in Silvana's direction in an attempt to drive her back. Silvana watched her carefully, but she could see the way the other was holding back and declined to react. Instead, she rolled her shoulders in a shrug and shook her head at the other rather condescendingly. Ilis's expression contorted in irritation as she was made light of. "You're just here to run your mouth and pick fights, aren't you? Didn't learn your lesson last time? Roll down your collar; let's see if those bruises have healed." Ilis snapped back, looking for an opportunity to present itself. At this, Silvana turned her head away and languidly closed her eyes for just a moment. Although Ilis had just stabbed her pride, she had also presented Silvana with an opportunity to stand up for herself. She decided to take advantage of her words, rather than lash out. "...Sorry, but I don't belong to you anymore." Silvana replied ever so coolly, leering at Ilis knowingly from the corner of her eyes. Her body had been 'marked' many times, like a cattle being branded. However, instead of names, they were simple scars. It was understood that she was intelligent enough to know what each scar meant without having it spelled out for her. The bruises on her neck were from having been choked, a particularly unpleasant memory. There was something very personal about looking into someone's eyes as they straddled you and put the squeeze on your life with their bare hands. That sense of... vulnerability was what she hated most, having to sit there and plead for mercy while you were manhandled like that. She never wanted to feel that way again, but she wasn't opposed to teaching this one the error of her ways.
"You'll have to take me if you want me back." Silvana went on to challenge, striking a pose and gesturing to Ilis with her free hand. A bewildered Marin watched the exchange from nearby. ...Were--...Did these two--Were they flirting?? She didn't quite grasp the context necessary to make sense of this. And frankly, she wasn't so confident about her conclusion either. The princess decidedly continued staying out of it. An infuriated Ilis emitted a shrill growling noise and dropped her weapon, rather abruptly rushing Silvana. Marin didn't quite understand why she had done that either; perhaps she knew Silvana well enough to know she wasn't risking her life? It was the best guess she could make, anyway. Seeing this, Silvana'a lips twisted upwards into a content smile. It was time for an intervention. "Fall." Silvana firmly ordered, making use of her hypnotic suggestion to make Ilis' legs betray her. The other gerudo was bewildered when she went to step down and found that she couldn't feel the ground beneath her, her mind tricking her into losing her balance and wildly toppling forward into the sand. What had just happened?! Had Silvana predicted the future? She had no concept of what was happening to her. Silvana had to step aside slightly as Ilis slid surprisingly far, but she didn't waste much time gawking at the other's helplessness before her voice. Instead, she shifted forward to intercept Ilis' attempt to get up and knocked her back down by plopping down on her back and beginning to straddle her back. She then shoved Ilis' face down into the hot sand, her other hand weighing down on one of Ilis' upper arms. She felt Ilis' free hand grasp her thigh, but with her arm bending behind her like that she lacked the strength necessary to actually lift Silvana. She had Ilis right where she wanted her.
Silvana wrestled a bit with Ilis on the ground, but for the most part she was just sitting on the other and pressing her face and arm down into the sand. There was a lot of squirming on Ilis' part, but this did little more than get Silvana's heart racing and fluster her a bit. Squeezing her legs a bit around the other's abdomen to make it harder for her to squirm, Silvana pumped one of her arms to drive Ilis' face deeper into the sand. There she bore down over the other, as if to smother her with the sand. This was, of course, a ridiculous endeavor. However, it certainly served the purpose of humiliating and startling the fallen woman quite well. "Funny how that works, isn't it? Feel a little familiar?! It does to me!!" she snapped with a certain sadistic pleasure in her voice, much to the horror of a watching princess. Marin cringed at the sight of the struggling gerudo, not wanting to imagine being on the receiving end of such bullying. She really hoped she wasn't implicated in any of this, lest she be forced to make a run for it. She was starting to have second feelings about this trip. Silvana slid her hand down past Ilis' skull and grasped her ponytail, yanking her head up out of the sand and pulling her head back until her back bent up into Silvana. Ilis' struggles abruptly stopped as her back was bent into an uncomfortable position and her arm was twisted to a breaking point. She simply couldn't continue without injuring herself. "...Witch!" Ilis blurted out between laboured breaths, eliciting a new smile upon Silvana's face. She was enjoying her current position, and well--Being called a witch didn't necessarily have negative connotations among her people. In this particular case, it was obviously meant to imply that she was fighting with an unfair advantage, but Silvana was decidedly unfazed by such an insult. There was nothing illegitimate about what she'd done. This power was hers to use as she pleased, whenever she pleased. 
"Don't cry~ It'll be over soon~" Silvana would go on to reark in a sugary sweet tone that obviously didn't match the way she was manhandling the other at all. This caused Marin to avert her eyes, frightened by the climactic words. In all honesty, she kind of wanted Ilis to cry. She wanted to see the other feel the things she felt, to know her own humanity. However, she knew that this was unlikely. She simply didn't have enough time to break the other and Ilis had a ferocious sense of pride just like any of their warriors. If she tried, it would probably be seen as a breach of honor and the other guard would step in. As if on cue, the second gerudo guard approached the two and laid a gentle yet firm hand on Silvana's shoulder, drawing her attention. It seemed she'd had enough sitting idly by and wanted an end to this. Silvana looked up and met her eyes for a moment, sharing a silent look that communicated everything they needed to. The stern, warning look in the guard's eyes told her that the other was concerned that she might kill Ilis. It was a reminder that this was a duel, not a deathmatch. Silvana nodded silently in acknowledgement before returning her attention to Ilis, the hand slipping from her shoulder. She leaned forward on Ilis' back, easing closer to her ear. She had no fear of a headbutt, as the other's head was already pulled back as far as it would go. "...I'm not going to make you endure all of the abuse you put me through. Don't think that means I forgive you, though. You helped take every little ounce of dignity I had from me and then made me struggle to find new ways to love myself. What I'm going to do to you is nothing in comparison. If you want to be equal, you're going to have to make it up to me yourself." Silvana would growl out, shifting to shove Ilis' back down as she shifted about and sat on the other's shoulders. Ilis' began to struggle again, but with her arm twisted in a useless position she couldn't quite throw Silvana off of her. "What are you--" Ilis replied in a series of grunts as she threw her weight up into Silvana without effect, only for a squeal of alarm to escape her as a blade found its way into her leg. It somehow felt... unsatisfying to hear Ilis cry out in pain. It was too familiar a sound to her, like a frightened child rather than the hardened warrior's yell she'd somehow been expecting. It reminded her of herself in a way she wasn't very happy about. Withdrawing her blade, she got off Ilis with the knowledge that the other wouldn't be able to stand up if she tried. She'd made a point to target the other's legs on purpose. She wanted Ilis to experience having to rely on someone to take care of her, and the inability to walk for a while would accomplish that just nicely.
