The prince's strikes had proven rather effective against the man, as he - like others, hadn't expected Caelum to be as quick as he was. While Caelum did not have the brute strength that most soldiers did, he made up for it in his overall agility. While his strike didn't cut deep, he had still managed to nick Ookami, feeling a hint of satisfaction, however small the feat might be. The young man didn't have any time to relax as the other soon came charging at him, his own blade swinging in a thin arc towards his legs. A spring of his legs helped to move him backward, but not quickly enough to avoid taking a nick across one of his thighs. A low inhaled hiss slipped past gritted teeth as Caelum skidded to a halt a few feet away. Crimson fluid slowly dribbled down his thigh as he shifted into another stance - his sword arm held closer to his body while the free hand hovered in front. A fighting style that he'd picked up from the royal nursemaid back at the castle. She had said that while the arts of a knight were good, that it was always better to have other options in combat. This on in particular was taught to him due to his speedy movements.
As the pair continued to stare each other down in their stand-off, there would be something shifting about slowly and quietly amidst the trees of the Lost Woods. It was watching them - stalking them even, like a predator hunting its prey. It was only for a brief moment that either of them could catch the sight of glowing yellow eyes from the shadows, followed by a low rumble of a growl. It was clear at this point that they were not alone. However, would that stop them from their little squabble? Or would their instincts kick in to full alertness to face down the potential danger?
While he couldn't actually feel steel nick into flesh he as sure can imagine it as he saw his own blade slightly dripping with red. He was even now but he knew he would need to get more cuts in to even call this a win. He needed to make sure the kid stayed down and out if he wanted to get out of here still breathing because teasing him sure turned him into a mad dog of sorts. "Not bad but not great either. If being quick's and little fancy dance moves all you have then you haven't seen real battle." A minor bluff backed up with whatever rigorous mock combat the blonde had to endure during his training. Sure intent to kill was sort of a mandatory thing to have during it but it was hard to actually kill someone with faux weapons.
As he faced the other man with his weapon drawn back to his side he started to circle him like a wolf circling an enemy encroaching on its territory, that's when he saw them. The glowing eyes that told him without words that they had an audience that was rather "displeased" with the noise they were making. This was not a welcome peanut gallery. "Guess we drew a crowd...didn't we?!" Ookami shouted before snapping his fingers in the direction of the eyes and from them a small orb of white popped into existence and shot at the bushes, erupting into a bright flash to draw out whatever was hiding in there.

"And if mouthing off is all you're good at, then you've clearly never fought someone like me." was the immediate response Caelum provided without missing a beat. The pair had managed to nick each other with their blades through their short exchanges, which probably didn't surmount to much in the grand scheme of things. However, it didn't stop the prince from thinking that perhaps this man was trained to some degree. Though admittedly, the way Ookami had been charging in like a wild animal didn't exactly help in that regard.
While Ookami had started strafing around Caelum with a predatory intent, the prince remained as he was, tossing up his sword to catch it in its intended grip once again as those icy blue eyes never once left the man's form. A brow raised however, as the blonde suddenly stated that they were not alone, and a bright flash of light exploded in the bushes nearby. Caelum's head turned to find not one... not two... but three large beasts emerging from behind the trees and the brush that had been surveying the pair with their glowering yellow eyes. Wolfos - dire beasts that had become corrupted beyond a primal description, often hunting down any and everything that came into their territory. Each could legitimately be well over seven feet tall, muscles barely visible beneath the fur - most certainly a creature built for hunting, and three of them no less. From the individual standpoint, this certainly was not looking very good for himself. On the other hand, there was an off chance he could get out of this, albeit, with the assistance of the cur who addressed him so informally.
As much as Caelum wanted to simply high-tail it and run, his noble pride told him otherwise as he shifted his stance so he'd be facing against the three Wolfos before him. "Of all times..."
It had to be Wolfos, three huge ones too boot, why couldn't they just be some Keeze or snakes, but no they had to be these rabid beasts. He knew that fighting on a group of any size of these things took either luck or trust and skill in your following group to take down these beasts and looking the only other person around he did not like his chances. Yet there was always the chance that the other man wouldn't throw Ookami to them while he made a run for it, and watching his stance seemed to be reassuring that they could probably make it out of here with their lives. Well that or one of them might miss a finger or a foot, but that wasn't as bad as having your bones be these dogs' playthings.
"Well then... Guess it means we're eating fresh meat tonight huh?" He could run, but he didn't want to leave this other guy here by himself. He was just too cute to leave all alone to the wolves after all. So he charged forward, taking a swing at one of the beasts muzzles with his blade. If he could get all three of them onto him the other might have a chance to take one out by surprise if he didn't leave him here to die. If he did leave then everything Ookami ever said or thought about him would be pretty moot. Yet that would be fore latter as he reeled back from his first swing, whether it missed or not he would swing at the next beast at its legs to cripple it.

While Ookami joked about the situation before them, Caelum was already devising a plan of action in order to slay the beasts before them. Three dire beasts versus the two of them. Thinking back on it now, there was some truth to the blonde man's words. Caelum had yet to truly see a real fight. Sure, he had been trained in the royal arts, and even some additional combat training from the nursemaid who had taken care of him and his sisters. But this was a different animal altogether. This was a live scenario unfolding right before him. He could very well run if he wanted to as Ookami went charging in at the trio of beasts, one catching his blade in between its powerful jaws. He could run... but what good would that do if Ookami wound up dying for his own safety? Caelum already knew that he'd never be able to live with himself if that occurred.
The prince grit his teeth before turning on his heel and running the opposite direction of the danger, having moved quick enough to where he was out of sight within a few seconds. It wasn't until nearly a minute in that he began turning himself around, picking up speed as he did. Faster. Faster. Faster! He continued running until he began to reach his maximum speed, the forest around him seeming more like a blur as he made his way back towards the center of the wood where he had been. He drew closer and closer, soon coming upon Ookami and the Wolfos before barreling his full weight into one with his full weight, toppeling down to the earth before pivoting himself back to a fighting stance, the feral creature glowering its glowing yellow eyes at the young man as it watched him bolt over to leap and slam a knee into the temple of the one that had clamped its jaws upon Ookami's sword. After tumbling to the side and getting back upon all fours, all three were now encircling the pair as the brunette pressed his back against Ookami's back, blue eyes warily watching all three as he held his blade out in front of himself.
"As much as I detest it... it looks like we're going to have to fend them off together. Think you're up to the task?"
He growled as he wrestled with one of the beasts as it had his sword in its mouth and was holding on tightly. Lucky for him the other man made a quick decision to help Ookami out and get his sword free and the beasts circling the two of them as he explained the obvious. "Oh I believe so. Haven't had a good hunt in a while anyway. This will make good practice." Ookami replied as he cycled through each of the three beasts with his sight as they circled the two humans.
Suddenly one of them jumped at Ookami, the same that tried to eat his sword so the blonde decided to give him a second helping as he blocked the teeth that were coming down on him with his blade, wrestling with the wolf on two legs as he unleashed another blast of magic, sending the beast flying away from him. He then chased the wolf down as it was getting back to its foot and lunged again at Ookami who saw it coming and managed to slip past and graze its fur with his blade.
The beast just growl some more as its pack mate looked over and came to its aid as Ookami raised up his blade and rushed in at the same time, plunging his blade into the leg of the one he was just fighting before it could receive help as he pulled out his blade as the wolfos let out a yelp and started limping away.
