ELINKAR QUEENSGUARD
SOME SMALL WITTY SAYING OR QUOTE HERE, NOT TOO LONG
PERSONALITY
The Hero of Courage is always born with several traits. Perseverance through the hardest trials, the resolve to stand up to the very embodiment of darkness itself, and the drive to protect the wielder of Wisdom. Such has been the nature of this symbiotic bond since the Goddess Hylia and her Champion sealed Demise away.
But all this can be stripped away from the hero in one swift go.
Link’s resolve since losing the Triforce and suffering through his imprisonment has been diminished, a shadow of what he once was. He still has resolve to live and fight for Zelda and his people, but now combatting it is the memories of the trauma he faced, of the things he saw. Damaged is really the best way to put it, and even the smallest chance of somebody dying scares him to death. He is still the same kind knight, but because of what he went through, has become reclusive, speaking primarily to Zelda, as her lover, and her Sheikah guard.
The Hero will have to find his resolve again to retake his title.

HISTORY
Being the son of a Knight sets your life into motion pretty easily. From a young age, Elinkar was raised in the family of the Royal Guard of Hyrule, the son of the Head Guard of the King and Queen. His mother died when he was young, in childbirth to his sister, Aryllia. His father was posted at the royalty’s estate on the outskirts of Castle Town, and it was there that he grew up, helping tend to livestock and playing with the other knight’s children, as well as his younger sister when she was born.
But one child he met would change his entire future, he hadn’t just realized it.
The Royal Family had three children, but Link bonded closest with the middle child, Zelda. She was his age, and they met early on in life through Link’s father and the King. The two were quick to befriend each other, and when her mother let her, Zelda would go out and play with him and the other kids. They would often go aside and play on their own, often sneaking off for adventure, and life was good. In this time, Link lost his father, and he was devastated, but Zelda helped him through, staying as a rock for her in trying times.
But suddenly, Zelda’s life changed drastically. Her mother passed as well, and suddenly, her father took her away from her friends. Link had no chance to say goodbye before she was ripped away from him. With how upset he got about it, his father pushed him instead to train under him, and his time was then split between combat training and helping on the farm. Still, he wondered how Zelda was doing, and instead focused on his work, as well as bonding with his little sister.
When he came of age to start training in the castle, he jumped on the opportunity. The guards welcomed in as part of family, and he was put in a group of young teens to begin his training. Work with spear, shield, sword, and various other weapons filled his days, as well as discipline and etiquette training. But being in the castle presented another problem.
He saw her again.
Zelda came into his life again, though she didn’t know it. He always saw her either in court, or from afar, but her Sheikah teachers and guards always guided her away before he had a chance to speak to her. His years went by along this way, until the young teen was a young man. Years of training had turned him into a warrior, and he discovered that he, Elinkar, was to be named knight, and personal guard to the royal family. When asked if there was anybody he wanted to knight him, his thoughts went to the princess. When walking through the gardens to contemplate his choice to be a knight, he came across a crying maiden, and was shocked when she turned out to be Zelda herself. Reunited, the princess consoled secrets in him, then suddenly, they kissed, the vague spark that smoldered before bursting to life.
Zelda, however, was afraid of the consequences, and she ran, leaving Elinkar fuming. Thinking far too brashly, he returned to the guard’s quarters, and planned to turn down the position of knight. However, Zelda herself came to confront him, saying she was willing to risk it, and a relationship formed between the two. Zelda knighted him before his peers, and named him jarl, granting him a position of low nobility and an estate to live in. With this, he was a full knight of Hyrule, and lived out his time in service and peace, with Zelda continuing their relationship in secret, due to her engagement to Prince Perseus. He was aware of the two, and knew Zelda did not love him, so he helped guard their secret, a close friend to them both.
In time, Link would discover that he was the reincarnation of the Legendary Hero, and with confirmation of the sages, it was confirmed. Tradition dictated that he was to be announced as hero to the world, and he was more than happy to go through with the traditions. In this time, his and Zelda’s romance had blossomed even further, and the two were rather getting rather serious.
But in that night, Link lost both the respect of his sister, and the love of his life once again. Aryllia gave him a look when they announced him as hero, and he knew she knew about it. He should have told her, but it was risky. In addition, Perseus’ father, Gladhion, caught Link and Zelda sneaking off after the traditional dance for an intimate moment. He was put before everyone, and an ultimatum was put into place: Zelda was to wed Perseus, or Link was to die.
While he was imprisoned, she visited him, and he told her to go through with it. What he was told of, however, was very different, and that night, the death of Zelda was announced, and Link freed. Instead, she had a servant stand in for her, faking her death, and himself, Perseus, and Prince Asthar of Horoldrum fled from Hyrule, Zelda meeting with them later in Horoldrum, disguised as a Shiekah. Their romance continued, but was strained due to the stress upon them.
Back in Hyrule, however, things were falling apart. The dark entity Sieth had been reborn, to a vessel named Marik, and made moves to free the gods themselves from the Sacred Relm. Great enemies of the past such as Zant, Majora, Yuga, and others were released from the Sacred Realm. Link was forced back to Hyrule to fight, and at this time, finally pulled the Master Sword, embracing destiny fully in a great battle against the gods.
It couldn’t have gone more wrong.
Zelda’s identity was revealed, and in a great battle, Link was dealt a killing blow. With his last breaths, he prayed to the Golden Goddesses, a prayer of help for the former champion of Hylia. And the Goddesses answered, but instead of grace and peace, they brought wrath. And stripped not only Sieth’s powers, but the Triforce from the trio of Marik, Zelda, and Link. As Link laid there, dying as Zelda shook him, he watched as the great relic was shattered into pieces, and suddenly his vision blacked out.
What awaited him next was imprisonment in the Sacred Realm, a torture of 4 years that felt like hundreds. Malevolent beings and gods that past incarnations of the Hero had defeated took out centuries, even millennia, of anger out upon him, and the Hero’s resolve was slowly broken over time. He found later on that he could communicate with Zelda in his dreams, but this also opened them up to interference by these gods. After four years, he had almost given up hope, but then a familiar light embraced him, and the gods cowered from him, for a change.
When he next woke up, it was in a bed, and to an immense amount of pain. He discovered Zelda had saved him, but when she asked questions of him, he was only silent, gaze fixated in a corner, shaking. There was damage to the hero, and it took him weeks before they even spoke.
APPEARANCE
Look to Link. 6 feet tall, blue tunic, blonde hair. Now look back to your man. Now back to Link. He’s on a horse, hemp breeches and riding boots working with the tunic to hide the fit form of a warrior. He’s drawing a bow, while on horseback. Look away, and back. Now you can see his green eyes. He’s throwing a bomb, which makes him cooler than your man. Once more away, and back. Strong arms swinging a hammer, and what’s this? He’s giving you a diamond. Basically, Link is the man of your dreams. What’s that? The diamond is actually a ring now. He just made it himself. Bow, shield, and sword on his back, quiver at his hip. Smile on his face.
Old Spice could make your man into this. But probably not.
