[attr="class","Vgeninside"]
[attr="class","Vgentext"]
HYLIANS: Descended from the people who lived among the goddess Hylia long prior to the establishment of Hyrule as a kingdom, they are a magic race with pointed ears who have inherited the blood, powers and abilities of their ancient ancestors. The most famous Hylians are the many heroes and princesses that share the same name as one another, the latter being of blood relation and naming tradition.
[break][break]
Hylians were the first race to establish organized civilization in ancient Hyrule many years after the events of Skyward Sword upon the world formerly known only as the Surface. As time has gone on, the divine blood within a hylian slowly began to fade, which caused many to lose their "pointed" ears. It is said that the more pointed the ears are, the more hylian heritage is in a family's heritage.
[break][break]
HUMANS: Humans are for the most part identical to Hylians, with the sole exception being their small, rounded ears in contrast to the Hylians' pointed ears. As it is often said that the Hylians' long ears allow them to hear the voice of the gods, it can be assumed that Humans do not possess this same ability. The origins of Humans and their relationship to Hylians is, as explained before, is their heritage to the origin of the ancient hylians dwindling overtime.
[break][break]
Humans are seldom seen in contrast to the more prolific, dominating Hylian race. Nonetheless, round-eared Humans are more common populous in lands that exist outside of Hyrule.
[break][break]
Because Hylians are naturally magical, they have one extra magic slot.[break][break]
Because of how common humans are, they do not bare any magical perks, however receive one extra weapon/item/pet slot in any of those categories.

[attr="class","Vgeninside"]
[attr="class","Vgentext"]
Zoras were once a fish-like race, but have evolved to look much more human. They are normally found in or near large bodies of water, but very rarely stray far away from them. In Hyrule, Zoras used to live in the Zora's Domain, a large cavernous fountain that is connected to the Zora River, which flows directly to Lake Hylia; it is common to see Zoras within these areas as well. They are fantastic swimmers and can breathe underwater.
[break][break]
Zoras, however, do not solely live in fresh water, but can also thrive in salt water. They are much more diplomatic, considered to be pompous, of "high class", and a sophisticated race that enjoy pageant lifestyles of prim and proper fashion.
[break][break]
Zoras are also known to have long lifespans, with a Zora in Zora's Domain stating that he is over 130 years old while still looking young. Zora children age in such a way where even as young adults they can still appear to be children before reaching a growth spurt. Younger Zoras speak more informally than their elders. As Zoras age, they hold themselves to higher standards of speaking as a matter of pride.

The goron race heils from a rock-like species that has become more humanoid overtime. They can be found in mountainous regions, however they are shown to thrive in any terrain, as they are lovers of travel. In Hyrule, the gorons used to reside in Goron City on Death mountain, a large underground city within the walls of an active volcano. They are able to thrive in intense heat and have hardy skin that acts as protection.
[break][break]
[break][break]
Gorons pride themselves in strength and reputation - often challenging each other in combat as a way to earn respect and prove themselves to be goron champions. For many years, the Gorons and Zoras did not get along. It wasn't until the calamity, in which they set aside their differences.

[attr="class","Vcanonname"]SHEIKAH
[attr="class","Vgeninside"]
[attr="class","Vgentext"]
The Sheikah are a humanoid race, bearing great resemblance to hylian humans in both appearance and magical capacity. The Sheikah, however, are known for their distinctive red eyes and pointed ears, which they share the latter with the Hylians. Despite physical similarities, the true relationship between the Sheikah and Hylian race is unknown. For example, the alter ego of Princess Zelda in Ocarina of Time is a Sheikah named Sheik, who possesses the red eyes that are exclusive to the Sheikah race.
[break][break]
The Sheikah were originally chosen by the Goddess Hylia to serve as guardians, and have been highly devoted to the Royal Family of Hyrule, her reincarnation's descendants, since the inception of the tribe. Various incarnations of Princess Zelda are often protected by different Sheikah women who share the name of Impa. Often Impa is shown to be very protective and concerned for the safety of the Princess.
[break][break]
The Sheikah were nearly wiped out defending the Royal Family of Hyrule during the Hyrulean Civil War. Kakariko Village was once a Sheikah settlement before Impa, who was born and raised there, opened it to "the poor folk" of Hyrule. Because of the royal bloodline's decline over the last few centuries, Sheikah have found themselves more reserved and without purpose, keeping Kakariko as a strictly sheikah village and rarely allowing outsiders in.
[break][break]
Sheikah are known for their incredibly old ages, appearing to be able to live for centuries. It is said that the longest living Sheikah lived to be 5,000 years old, however there is no actual proof of this, nor has any living sheikah of this age lived that long. They are able to see in the dark with their scarlet eyes, and can see through most illusionary magic.

[attr="class","Vgeninside"]
[attr="class","Vgentext"]
The Gerudo are a desert-dwelling folk, being indigenous to the Gerudo Valley where they congregate in the Gerudo's Fortress as merchants. A rather peculiar aspect of the Gerudo is that the race consists almost entirely of women, with a male being born only once every hundred years. This male is destined to become their king. When there is no male to be their king, the Gerudo are led by a chief with the position passed on from mother to daughter. The exact nature of this phenomenon is never explained. The lack of males among the Gerudo is countered by them taking boyfriends from other races, however their children never take on the other race's traits. Married Gerudo do not typically live within the walls of Gerudo Town, but they enter to sell their wares at the market.
[break][break]
Generally, the Gerudo have been shown to be a reclusive race that does not take well to outsiders on their territory, which in Hyrule constitutes the whole desert area; but since the calamity, they have allowed refugees, male and female alike to seek haven within their borders. Being a warrior race, they are well apt at combat, and have been shown to use weapons such as glaives and dual scimitar swords. Some members of the race have also been shown to possess magic, namely Ganondorf and the Gerudo witch.
[break][break]
Archery and skilled horseback riding are highly regarded in Gerudo society. They also use sand seals, animals native to the Gerudo Desert Gateway, to get around the desert. Sand seals are not exactly ridden; rather, one surfs on a shield behind the animal while a rope keeps them tethered to it.

[attr="class","Vgentext"]
The Kokiri are small child-like beings that inhabit the Kokiri Forest, as they compromise the land there with planted houses on its acres and within its borders. The Great Deku Tree grants each Kokiri a Fairy, which watches over the Kokiri.
[break][break]
The Kokiri are an ageless race that takes the form of human children. Like Hylians, they possess long, pointed ears. Despite their agelessness, Kokiri are still mortal beings that may be killed.
[break][break]
Through some unknown process, the Great Deku Tree gave life to the Kokiri. It was said that the Kokiri die if they leave the forest, however it is possible that the story is told only for general safety to prevent Kokiri to leave and be killed because of the monsters outside the Kokiri Forest.
[break][break]
If a Kokiri child wanders too far from the Kokiri Woods and becomes lost, sometimes they become skull kids. It isn't uncommon to see skull kids wandering about the lost woods, and it is safe to assume they were once kokiri who wandered too far from home. It is possible to play as a skull kid - you would simply be listed as a kokiri.

[attr="class","Vgeninside"]
[attr="class","Vgentext"]
The Twili are descendants of a tribe of Sheikah referred to as Dark Interlopers or Insurrectionists, who eons ago were condemned to the Twilight Realm by the Golden Goddesses of Hyrule as punishment for their misgoverned attempt to use magic to claim the Triforce. Their old magic became known as the Fused Shadow, a powerful instrument. However, during their failed attempt to conquer the Sacred Realm, their Fused Shadow was split into four pieces and scattered throughout the Twilight realm and Hyrule.
[break][break]
The tribe lived and evolved in the Twilight Realm for centuries in isolation, mere shadows of what they once were, as over time they grew used to their surroundings and came to accept their fate. While some learned to love the beautiful peace that can be found only in Twilight, it drove other inhabitants mad.
[break][break]
After centuries of rule, the Twilight Princess Midna became just one of many rulers in a long line of royalty. It was around this time that a rebel force grew from within the Twilight, spearheaded by Zant. It is revealed that Zant believed that he was next to become Twilight ruler, but the position was passed over. In a terrible fit of rage, he used the power of his false-god Ganondorf to transform most of the inhabitants of Twilight into monsters and, as a form of humiliation, transformed Midna into an imp creature. Midna's only hope was to find the magic of her ancestors, the Fused Shadows, and use it against Zant to save the realm and her people.

There are Sky dwelling Rito and Mountainside Rito, and both are very proud and pompous. They do not see eye to eye of their various culture differences, and see each other to be inferior to themselves.

Rito are also very arrogant about their cousin race - the Zora, seeing them as the lesser of evolutions and outcasting them as annoying and unimportant to their own culture and diplomacy.

Minish are woodland natives. They came from the Minish Realm long ago, when monsters threatened mankind, and gave the Hero of Men a Sword of unparalleled power: the Picori Blade. They also left behind the Light Force for the Royal Family. Every one hundred years, the Minish Door, a doorway between their world and the world of men, appears in the Hylian ruins of the Lost Woods.
[break][break]
Because they generally hide themselves from humans, they have the ability to shrink down very small or to change form into the animal which they represent in their humanoid form. They appear almost identical to humans aside from having animal-like features such as ears and a tail. Common minish folk include foxes, cats, wolves, lizards, and goats, however there are many of other animal species as well.
