Everyone started to talk each other in the council room until Ehrandil walked past into the door with a Vaillant guard and a Waystrider. "All rise for the Chieftain," one of the Waystriders said and all of them stood up from their seats, Ehrandil gestured them to sit down and they did. Ehrandil sat down onto his chair and he felt that every eyes in the room were watching him. "I received this letter from King Ashtar few days ago which is why I summon all of you right here, both Waystriders and Vaillants. This is what he writes on the letter," Ehrandil said as he took out an unfolded letter which its seal was broken,

To Ehrandil, son of Hurin, the Chieftain of the Waystriders and House Lord of Vaillant,

It has come to my attention that your former Queen are rallying supporters to retake the kingdom which is lost and her birthright to the throne. Me and King Perseus of Labrynna have reach to our agreement that we will support her with everything we have. However, the Waystriders and the late Lady Helia's House of Vaillant served the queen for years and faithfully. I know that you are still lament of Lady Helia's death and blamed Zelda for it but what happened back then was tragic. Even with me and Perseus's help, the retaking of Hyrule and Zelda's throne will not possible without the help from the ever vigilant Waystrider rangers and brave Vaillant knights. Please, old friend. Help Zelda if you must, it saddens me that she wander around and looking for helpalone. I shall wait for your reply, dear friend.

After he done reading the letter, Ehrandil passed the letter to one of the Waystriders and it later passed on to another and another. The contents of the letter stirred mixture of conversations between the Waystriders and the Vaillant knights. Ehrandil later then cleared his throat and the hall went silent once more, "As you all know that we served Her Highness without questioning, both Waystriders and Vaillants. The Vaillants served the royal family for centuries while we the Waystriders was in debt that we cannot repay to Queen Zelda as she permitted us to return to our ancestral home after centuries of banishment. But after what happened back in Hyrule Castle, too many brave souls were lost to the rebels. Now, a chance have come to us to retake our kingdom but..." Ehrandil stammered and he fell into silence, he was not sure that would he led his Waystriders and the House of Vaillant to pledge their swords and honor to the Queen once more or should they remained silent to the King Ashtar's plea. Being a chieftain and a lord was stressful for him, it was a heavy burden that he needed to bear on his shoulders and decisions making was never easy. One of the Waystriders stood up from his seat, his name was Henrir. "Chieftain, we are truly indebted with Her Highness and right now it is the time to repay her kindness, we should ride out and meet her with our banners high! That Waystriders and the Vaillants still remain faithful to her and her cause!" the Waystrider said and some of the individuals were applauded and cheered until a veteran Waystrider stood up from his seat and pointed finger at Henrir, "Have you learn nothing since after the massacre in Hyrule Castle?! We lost too many brave men and women from our clan and the Vaillants! The kingdom is lost! Hyrule is beyond to be saved!" the veteran Waystrider said that. Tempers flared within the council room and everyone started to argue with each other; Waystriders against Waystriders while Vaillants against Vaillants. Some of them argued that their sons and daughters or siblings were killed during their last stand at Hyrule Castle while some of them accused each other as cowards or striving for glory.

"Council..." Ehrandil said but the council was bickering with each other like children argued over toys, Ehrandil rubbed his temple with his hands. "COUNCIL!" Ehrandil slammed his hand onto the table and the council room became quiet, they had gone too far. "... I will think about a decision either we should answer to our duties to our queen or not, give me three days and all of you will return here. This gathering is adjourned," Ehrandil stood up from his seat and he stormed out from the council room in anger. He was furious and agitated, was it hard for the Council that they decide either to assist Zelda or not? In the end everyone argued with each other. He walked out from the wooden door of the longhouse and he started to walk away. He walked past each Waystriders but he was not in mood of greeting, he needed some time to be alone. He walked out from the village's entrance and his walking pace began to be slow, Ehrandil wanted to visit a place that he always did before when he was in distraught and confuse.

He entered the forests which was not far from the Waystrider village, no birds or animal sounds were heard but the gentle wind of the snow. Then he arrived at a place, it was not a gravestone but a mausoleum. He opened the door and inspected a body of a female knight in a glass coffin, it was his beloved Helia. She was dressed in her usual armor and held her sword was in her hands, her body was preserved by a magic power from a Fairy before it left. Ehrandil approached the glass coffin and caressed it, he looked at Helia who looked like she was asleep for eternity. "Helia..." Ehrandil said softly and he knelt down, pressed his hands gently on the glass while looking at the face of his deceased beloved. "Zelda is massing supporters to retake back our kingdom, but I don't know what should I do... Ashtar and Perseus wanted to lend her their aid but... our families are arguing with each other right now that should we go to Zelda or not..." Ehrandil said but Helia did not respond back, she was silent as a grave. "... Please, min älskade (my beloved)... Tell me, what should I do? ... Helia?" Ehrandil could not hold back his tears and he wept in silent, the door to the mausoleum was still opened.

It was so cold. There truly were mystical forces behind these friged woodlands. An everlasting winter, when the rest of the land was scorched by the summer air, Zelda could never quite understand it. Zelda had been summoned by King Asthar as means of discussions of further alliances with The Heroes of Hyrule, and she had sent back her men to return the supplies they were gifted to the base. While Asthar had insisted on sending her back with some of his men, she assured him she could handle her own if something went amiss.

[break]This was before the carriage had been destroyed. Stuck in a thick layer of snow and ice, the carriage wheels had been overworked and snapped right off of the axle. Now Zelda was left with a horse, and no shelter. Dusk would arrive soon, and the young queen was striding along an icy trail that she hoped was in the correct direction. With the thick trees and cloudy skies... it seemed almost impossible for her to tell which direction she truly may be going.

[break]She wore her thick heroes attire, a blue dress with white and gold lace, covered by metal chest and waist plates, as she covered herself with a long, wool cloak with fur around the neck and ends to trap her body heat. In an attempt to keep her body temperature moderated, she had pulled her hair from the braided bun she usually kept, letting her hair fall down over her ears and back. She surely looked distressed, from the tangled mess her hair had become, and her flushed cheeks from the frigid hours she spent alone.

[break]Asthar had pinpointed several safe locations to take shelter in, though he didn't quite explain what they all were. He simply told her that they were of his affiliates and that they knew that she was a friend to welcome. As she slowly approached a light in the distance, she had hoped that this was one of those people. She made for the path rather quickly, her horse picking up the speed as she approached a rather large structure, smoke pluming out from the top. As she dismounted the horse, she slowly went to approach the door, when she suddenly heard the growls of several beasts near by. She froze, her hands immediately taking hold of her sword, as she began scanning the area quickly. Something was watching her.

He wiped his tears away and slipped his hand to his wineskin, Ehrandil uncorked it and he drank the wine inside. Every time when he remembered anyone whom he lost during the civil war, he resorted to drinking and alcohols. Most of the his clan men and Vaillant knights tried to stop him but he would not listen, alcohol was the only way to made his painful memories go away. Then, he realized that he finished the wine but to him it was not enough. He remembered that there was an Waystrider ranger outpost nearby where mostly the young Waystriders-in-training stationed, a practice of guarding for them. There were supplies of food and beverages which were enough for weeks, Ehrandil decided to pay a visit there.

He walked out after he closed the mausoleum's door, Ehrandil was striding like a broken who lost everything. He hold his empty wineskin and his cape dragged on the ground. He knew the way around the woods because he was raised here, Woods of Winter was easy for Ehrandil to navigate. Finally he saw the outpost from distance and he sighed in relief until he saw a figure who was standing in front of the outpost. It was rather a small stature and the figure was wearing a cloak that he barely knew since all Waystriders were wearing on black capes. Then, Ehrandil realized it was a woman and he felt that he seen her somewhere before. Much to his surprise, Ehrandil realized that she was the one whom he served back in the past, the one whom he thought she went missing forever. Then, a pack of wolves emerged from the woods and they were approaching the former Queen, they were snarling and barking. Ehrandil continued to walk forward with slight haste.

Ehrandil stood beside the former Queen and stared at her with his eyes, the eyes of hatred. He stared at Zelda for a while and he walked forward to confront the wolves. The wolves were snarling but they slowly backed down, Ehrandil crossed his arms onto his chest and stood his ground. "... Be gone," Ehrandil said to the wolves, they turned around and ran back into the woods with tails between their legs, they were not seen again. Ehrandil turned around and looked at Zelda once more, he turned his head away while walking forward. "Why are you here?" Ehrandil asked coldly as he walked past her with no bow or warm regards to her, he gave his cold treatment to his former Queen. Ehrandil walked to the outpost and opened the door, he entered the outpost. It was neat and there were supplies of food and barrels of drinks, a warm fire was in the middle with wooden benches surrounded it. The trainees were not here since they were trained in combat by the instructors at the village, Ehrandil approached one of the barrel which it was written grape wine in Waystrider alphabets, he began to filled his wineskin with the grape wine from the barrel tap. The door was opened and Ehrandil did not care either Zelda wanted to enter or not, the choice was hers.

Several wolves had made their presence known from the shadow of snow thickened trees, entering the clearing as she watched them cautiously. Showing their teeth, they growled violently as she raised her sword high. The numbness of her fingers made her grip loosened slightly, her nerves rising high as she may not protect herself to her fullest potential. "Stay back..." she murmured lightly with a waver in her voice as she shivered.

[break]Suddenly a darkened figure appeared from the side, as she turned quickly to see a pair of fierce eyes watching her carefully. Something familiar resonated with her as she watched him, turning back to the wolves and noticing they held themselves a bit differently as he approached. They back to back away hesitantly, and as she turned back to face the man, it suddenly came to her. It was Ehrandil. Someone she hadn't seen in nearly four years. When he had turned to the wolves and dismissed them, they seemed to listen with haste, immediately taking for the woods in cower.

[break]Lowering her sword, she sheathed it slowly as she let out a breath in relief. Looking to Ehrandil, she was about to thank him, when he snapped out his question before walking past her, into the doors of the outpost. Looking through the door, she watched him slowly, a melancholy knot filling her stomach as she simply stood in the doorway for a moment, unsure if she was truly welcome or not. Things had not been the same between them since the civil war had broken out and the castle in siege.

[break]She took a slow step inside, closing the door behind her gently as not to let the warm air escape the post. Looking around slowly before collecting her thoughts once more, she looked back to Ehrandil carefully and pursed her lips. The tension was thick, clouding her thoughts and making it hard to know how she should respond. She did not expect to be loved by everyone. She knew there were many that angered her, despite much of this being out of her control. They had both lost loved ones to war, and they both seemed to be her fault, that much was to her understanding.

[break]"I had business with Asthar, and he directed me come through the Woods of Winter on my travels back to avoid any bandits. He told me to visit this outpost should night come before I made it to any villages." she spoke softly, her voice rasp from the iced air. Had she known that these outposts were for the Waystriders, maybe she would have avoided them. She knew that they still held her accountable for all that Hyrule has lost.

[break]She had no idea what to say. Asthar had mentioned possible alignment with the Waystriders once more, but she had explained that the relationship between her and them was beginning to wither due to the outcome of the war. Many were lost, and many blamed her. Despite fighting beside them, and Link being the one to call forth the gods... she willingly took blame for it all. She did not want anyone else to take the fall. She did not want others to think of the hero as a failure. If there was hope for his return, then she wanted him to be welcomed, not ostracized.

Business with Ashtar? Ehrandil scoffed mockingly after he filled his wineskin, he saw there was another wineskin which was still new and unused. "Business... or seeking allies to retake Hyrule and your throne?" Ehrandil corrected her, he reached his hand and picked it up and filled the new wineskin with grape wine, he filled it and closed it tightly with the cap. He turned around and tossed it to Zelda, "It'll keep you warm." Ehrandil said to Zelda as he approached and sat down on the bench, he was glaring at Zelda. "There are no bandits around the Woods of Winter. Even if there are, they are not daring enough to settle here since they are well-aware that we'll show no mercy to them if we found out their presence." Ehrandil said to Zelda as he sipped the wine from his own wineskin and he put it down beside his knee. There were laws within the Woods of Winter which were set by the Waystriders of the Old, banditry was one of them. Unknown tresspassers would be led out from the woods with swords pointed behind their backs but bandits, fugitives and cutthroats were different stories, they would ended up with two choices; ran out of the woods and surrender yourselves to the Holodrum's law or the Waystriders would put you to the swords, no negotiations. The local bandits were feared of the Waystriders which was one of the main reasons that why they did not dare to venture into the Woods of Winter which was dominated by the woodsmen.

"Consider yourself lucky that I found you, otherwise you'll be a corpse by the wolves which will be found by my men tomorrow morning." Ehrandil said coldly and harshly to Zelda. He was angry with her, upset with her and furious with her quietly. Unlike last time, he was loyal and friendly to her even obey her orders without question until Link was gone, a strife was stirred between him and his former Queen. Worse still, Helia's death immediately shut Ehrandil's loyalty and friendship with Zelda. He did tried to find her and tried to swear fealty to her but she was missing for years, and now she was here right in front of his eyes. "I know your... "business" with Ashtar, he sent me a letter few days ago and plead me to help you by reclaiming the lost kingdom and your throne. I hold a council of gathering earlier in the village about it, guess what happened next?" Ehrandil asked Zelda with his mirthless smirk as he rubbed his beard with his gloved hand, "One side was supported your cause while the other did not forgotten about what happened at Hyrule Castle, it would be bloody murder in the village if I did not stopped them from drawing their swords and accusations upon each other." Ehrandil said. The incident at Hyrule Castle and the losses made a toll upon the Waystriders and the Vaillants, majority of them already lost their hope on Zelda and Hyrule after two years of setting at Holodrum

Before he could continue, the door was opened by itself and Ehrandil looked through it. It was a pair of Waystrider youngsters who were holding their wooden swords in their hands, they were stunned to see their chieftain and an unknown woman at the outpost. "What are you two doing here?" he asked them. "... Master Celkas ordered us to take some supplies for the others in the training yard, chieftain." one of them said and the other one was looking at Zelda with curiosity, it was her first time to saw an outsider. "Who is she?" the other Waystrider asked, Ehrandil looked at Zelda for a brief time and looked back at the pair. "A friend that I did not see for many long years, now go get your supplies and off with you." Ehrandil said and the two quickly went in, they busied themselves by taking the supplies and Ehrandil remained quiet while looking at Zelda. After they were done, the two quickly carried the supplies on their back and walked past their chieftain. "Close the door and send my regards to your Master, and no eavesdropping or you'll be grounded from archery practice for a week." Ehrandil said and the pair nodded obediently, they closed the door and walked away from the outpost. It was a brief quiet again and Ehrandil had no words for Zelda, "Do you know... how many years I've been looking for you?"

"It was truly just business," Zelda sighed as she looked down. "We do not have the numbers or means to try and reclaim Hyrule. Not yet. As of right now, we're just discussing the relocation of people who have been run out of their homes by guilds. I'm trying to make sure the people are safe first." she explained as she watched him slowly pour the wine into the wineskin. As he tossed it toward her, she caught it quickly, looking at it carefully before nodding at his response to keeping her warm. Taking a sip out of it, He listened to him speak of the woods, and what kind of dangers lurked within it. She could feel the pinch in his voice slowly digging at her skin as she breathed deeply, looking away as guilt painted her face. "I am in your debt, Ehrandil, truly. Thank you," she responded, looking back to him

[break]Zelda slowly circled around the table before taking a seat in one of the chairs, sipping at her wine quietly as Ehrandil spoke. When he spoke of Asthar's letter, her eyes widened as she turned to him in dismay, her mouth slightly gaped as she went to speak, but was cut off by his next words. "Wait, what??" she quickly said, shaking her head. "I have no knowledge of this letter. The last time I had spoken to Asthar was about a week ago, and we were discussing bringing supplies back for the heroes. And then when we arrived yesterday, we discussed allowing refugees to seek shelter in Holodrum. We've had zero discussion of reclaiming the kingdom. There is no plan. There never was. We're too outnumbered, even with the aid of the two kingdoms. If we truly want to reclaim the land, we must first match the number of guilds taking siege of the castle," she explained promptly. "I never even spoke of the Waystriders to him, and he never said a word to me. If that were even a question, I would have wanted to speak to you first, myself. I wouldn't have someone else do it in my stead. I understand the strain between me and your people, and I want to personally apologize and negotiate before I tell others to speak for me."

[break]The silence lingered for a moment as she looked down at her hands, gripping the wineskin tightly as she could hear the crackling fire in the distance. The door suddenly opened with force as a man walked in, eyeing them suspiciously as her face turned to them slowly. Another man was suddenly in the door. When Ehrandil made conversation with them, the two of them left in a hurry before disappearing once more as the door had shut, their supplies taken with them.

[break]Another silence. She sipped at her wine once more, feeling his stare on her as she avoided his gaze. Taking a deep breath, her face rose slowly to watch him as he spoke. He had been looking for her. Her lip quivered slightly, trying her hardest to keep her composure as she would speak, but her eyes had glossed over, blinking as she tried not to let her emotions take hold. "I'm so sorry," was all she could say for the moment. She looked back down, her hair covering her eyes. "A lot of people have been looking for me. But with allies looking, there were also enemies. We had to seek refuge. I couldn't let anyone know where I was, and slowly I gained trust in others to stand beside us." she explained quietly. "I've just now started to show myself again, now that some may not remember my face. My brother and sister are safe as well. I... I just needed to be careful, with everything that has happened. Who knows what kind of power people have now, with the shards by their sides." she took a deep breath before sipping once more. "I don't want anyone else to die for me. I've... we've lost too many."

Guilds ruined everyone's lives back in Hyrule, Ehrandil bitterly agreed with Zelda about it. Days by days and year by year, more refugees ran out from Hyrule since the anarchy reigned the kingdom thus many Waystriders brought some of them to set up a village nearby the Woods of Winter "We did came across refugees from Hyrule and we brought them with us, they set up a village nearby our woods and they are under our and Ashtar's protection". Zelda was not aware about Ashtar's letter to Ehrandil nor she wanted to reclaim Hyrule immediately, Ehrandil looked at her in her eyes and knew that she was telling the truth. "Perhaps Ashtar was worried and took pity in you since you wandering around while looking for help." Ehrandil grimaced. Zelda never lied, not even once to him and Ehrandil knew her too well.

Zelda apologized about her disappearance, there were enemies looking for her too. Who would not want the Queen's life since after what happened back then? Her carelessness and loss of the Triforce was the cause of uproar and rebellion of Hyrule's inhabitants, even though the kingdom has fallen there were still those who wished the end of Zelda's life. Further more, Zelda's siblings were safe but their whereabouts were unknown. "I'm sure Killian and Kura are safe where ever they are, I already have my associates locating their whereabouts." Ehrandil slightly warmed up to Zelda. Since after Zelda's disappearance, Ehrandil and his men went looking for Killian and Kura but sadly the results bore no fruits. Even after a few years, pigeon messengers came from the Waystriders who were stationed outside of Holodrum and the messages stated that they were still looking for their former Queen's siblings.

Zelda apologized to Ehrandil once more and she mentioned that they lost too many, it sparkled the anger within the Waystrider chieftain. "Lost too many?" Ehrandil asked as he got up from his seat with his wineskin in his hand, he drank and chugged the wineskin until it became empty and he tossed it violently against the wall, Ehrandil became slightly drunk but furious. "We are lost too many because you didn't heed my advice and warnings! If you listen to me back then, we will not sitting here and freezing ourselves to ice! If you listen to me, we might still gain our foothold on our kingdom! If you listen to me, the Grippen company might still be alive! If you listen to me, Helia wouldn't die in vain!" Ehrandil berated Zelda and he drew out his sword from his scabbard, he pointed it directly at Zelda. "The kingdom is lost because of you! Helia died because of you! My life is ruined because of you!" Ehrandil criticized Zelda angrily and he turned around, slashed the seat he sat on earlier into half with his sword. Ehrandil breathed heavily and he dropped his sword onto the ground, the Waystrider chieftain collapsed and he sat on the ground. he lowered his head, his anger was slightly dispersed and he sobbed in silence. "The loss of Helia... is more painful than death. Sometimes I want to end my own life and be done with it, but I'm still remember my promise with Link, a promise that I will take care of you if anything happened to him. The clan needs me, the House of Vaillant needs me but..." Ehrandil sobbed while shaking his head slightly and confusingly, he was in desperate state. ... is there possibility that we will take back our home? Our hearth?" Ehrandil asked Zelda without looking back at her.

Listening to Ehrandil's words of taking in refugees, it brought a little reassurance to Zelda. There were people here who were still willing to help others, and it helped ease her thoughts. When he spoke of Asthar taking pity, she shrugged slightly, unsure how to respond. It was probably true. They did seem to act different lately, but it also could have been due to the cold truths of war. It hardened leaders, even the most pure at heart. Even Perseus changed, and despite his retort, she could see it. She knew something was different about him since he had taken the title of King. When Ehrandil then spoke of her siblings though, she looked up at him, nodding. "They've been with me. Killian has been working with several of our units to help relocate civilians, while Kura has been training to control her triforce power." she explained.

[break]She took a sip from the wineskin before looking down. There was a sudden thickness to the air as the chieftain's anger rose, his wineskin flying across the room as he shrieked at her. It shook her bones as she dropped the wine, and he seemed to be growing closer as his words became more vicious with rage. She gasped slightly, stumbling from her chair as she backed into the wall, his sword suddenly pointed toward her. She pressed herself against the wall, terror filling her eyes as her words became desperate and scattered. "I'm sorry--I wasn't in my right mind--" she stuttered, closing her eyes tightly as if expecting to be killed on the spot. "I didn't mean for us to lose so many, and just as Helia's death clouds your judgment now--you have to understand what Link's put me through!" she slowly slid to the floor, tears welling in her eyes as she trembled. Her hands pressed against the floor in front of her as she rested on her knees.

[break]Crying softly, the tears slammed against the floor, as she moved forward slightly, now bowing. "We won't succeed if we continue to dwell on our losses, we need to fight for them," she murmured. There was a silence once more, but she continued to look to the ground, bowing to him with honor, but fear still striking her core as he faced away from her, the sword dropped to the ground as the chair was struck in half. Her breathing became rapid and shaky, her hands shaking as she waited for him to stop shouting, as she swallowed slowly, praying she wouldn't be the next target.

[break]He spoke of Link, and his name stung her as it always did. Did he truly say for Ehrandil to watch over her? His words seemed to soften as she then looked up to him desperately in his last words. She nodded quickly. Yes. They will reclaim Hyrule. They had to. "Please join us," she said desperately. "Please join my cause, and I promise we'll retake Hyrule." she could feel her words shaking under her breath as she blinked tightly, trying to stop the tears. "Be my ace. My my right hand, I promise I will always listen to you, I will take your advice and follow your lead. You're more seasoned than I am, you understand what we need to do more than I do. If you join me, I promise I will follow your lead when you have plans or ideas."

[break]Perhaps this was the cruel wake up call she needed. In the time that she had been gathering her forces, she refused to have anyone be her right hand, because she was waiting for someone she could trust and knew could face whatever dangers were ahead. Ehrandil was this person. She needed him by her side. "You've saved my life countless times, and I continue to live in your debt. I follow your lead." she continued to bow.

Her plea was sincere and there was sense of regret in it, Ehrandil turned his head over his shoulder and surprised that Zelda was pleading to him desperately. From despair, Ehrandil became pity with Zelda and he did not thought about what she had gone through, he only thought about his ruined life... he admitted that he was selfish all these years. He stood up back onto his feet while grasping his sword from the ground, Ehrandil walked gently towards to Zelda while sheathed his sword. He knelt down gently in front of her as she told him that she would listen to him, becoming her champion and follow his lead. "... Oh Zelda..." Ehrandil muttered his Queen's name with his tears streaming down from his eyes, "How could a Queen follow the lead of her subjects? It makes you like a jester, right? Helia will kill me if she hear this." Ehrandil choked in his laughter slightly with his teary eyes, he wanted to cheer his Queen up. He reached his hands out and hugged Zelda gently, he cried sorrowfully. "I was afraid Zelda, I was afraid that I had broke my promise with Link. I was afraid that I'll never found you again, like last time I thought you died. That feeling had tormented me for years." Ehrandil confessed to his Queen. He was afraid because he thought he broke the promise, the promise that he made with Link before the battle against the raging gods and goddesses but the feeling of guilty was gone now, the Queen he once served was alive and well.

"But that is gone now," Ehrandil said as he released Zelda from his arms and tried to regain his composure. "I've felt relieved after my outburst which I kept in my heart for years, and it brings joy to see you again, Your Highness." Ehrandil said as he wiped his tears with his gloved hand, he hold Zelda's hands and looked at them. "You never owe me debts or any of it, the Coalition always looking out for each other like family yes?" Ehrandil said with his slight smile to Zelda. Since after the day he joined the Coalition back in the past, Ehrandil had some animosity with Perseus but with Zelda who was disguised as the Sheikah, he made friends with everyone in the Coalition and Ehrandil considered Perseus as if he was his brother in blood. Link taught Ehrandil about sword and shield combat and not just that, his selfless and sense of duty inspired Ehrandil to become a better chieftain to his people and a houselord to Helia's House of Vaillant.

"I maybe lost Helia and my Grippen Company but you still have Link who are waiting for you to save him." Ehrandil helped Zelda stood back onto her feet. The two days of waiting for his decision was no more, Ehrandil decided from onward. "The Waystriders and House of Vaillant will stand with you, no matter what happens. It makes me relief that you are willing to listen to me but..." Ehrandil said to Zelda while he hold her hands firmly but gently, he looked into her eyes with determination, "You will lead us, Your Highness." Ehrandil said to Zelda and he released her hands, he knelt down before her and bowed his head. "By my right as the chieftain of the Waystriders and lord of Vaillant household, I pledge my service and fealty to you, Queen Zelda Eleisys of Hyrule. We will save Hyrule from anarchy," Ehrandil said and he looked up to Zelda, "and save the Hero of Time from his imprisonment." Ehrandil smiled to Zelda and he got back onto his feet. "Come, your highness. The people here will be rejoice and their hope will raised if they see their Queen." Ehrandil said as he walked towards to the door and opened it. After he opened the door, Ehrandil was in surprise and awe because he saw something in front of his eyes. A large mass of Waystriders and Vaillant armored knights was waiting outside of the outposts, along with the Hyrulean refugees who the Waystriders and Vaillants saved back then. "All kneel before the Queen!" a Vaillant knight shouted and all of them knelt down, waiting for their Queen to come out from the outpost. "Looks like the two youngsters are going to get a good lecture later," Ehrandil said as he looked at Zelda, he stepped away from the door and let the Queen to come out to greet her subjects.

Truly, it did make her a horrid leader, didn't it? Still, if she had listened to him in the past perhaps they'd be in a better place than something of this. [break][break]

Ehrandil had hugged Zelda gently, as she buried her face into his shoulder, letting out a jagged breath as she attempted to regain her composure. As his grasp had released her, she took a few steps back, running her hand over her face to wipe the leftover tears. "Led by me or not, I still want you to be my ace. I want you to be the second in command this time around, and your word is as good as mine." she said seriously as she nodded. "I cannot do this alone this time."[break][break]

As he then pledged his allegiance to her, she closed her eyes, nodding as he spoke of saving Hyrule, and freeing Link from his prison. She hoped for dear life that they would be able to do this. What question burned within her most was which one was going to be their first achievement? Would they be able to save Hyrule without Link? Or would they first need to save the Kingdom before any hopes of bringing back the hero from that realm? Would there be a way to awaken him without the shards being collected? [break][break]

Ehrandil began to head toward the door, as Zelda followed, and as soon as he opened it, there seemed to be a large group of men and women gathered around, all suddenly kneeling down as one had shouted to do so. She blinked several times, looking to them all as she turned to Ehrandil who seemed to chuckle lightly. She took a deep breath before stepping out toward the crowd, exiting the outpost and turning to face them all once more.[break][break]

Tomorrow I plan to ride back to the ruins of Old Hyrule, and I will inform the heroes of our meeting. I'm sure they'll be most pleased to know that you plan to return to us. I'll be sure to let Percy know as well. He plans to come visit sometime in the next coming days." she smiled lightly. "Hyrule will be ours once more. It's only a matter of time."

Ehrandil listened closely and stood attentively with his arms behind his waist, it took him back in his old days. Zelda told the people that she would ride back to old ruins in Hyrule to met with other Heroes and King Perseus would visit them in a few days. As Zelda told the people that Hyrule would be theirs once more but the only thing was the matter of time, Ehrandil nodded and stepped beside Zelda with his head hold high. "Her Highness has spoken, Hyrule will be ours to claim but we need to be patient and regain our strength." Ehrandil said as he walked down the staircase gently and looked at the people. "I know some of you may be oppose of my decision but regardless, we will stand behind our Queen no matter what happens." Ehrandil said as he walked past and eyed on the people, both Waystriders and Vaillant knights.

"It’s true that we've lost too many people back then, the damned blasted rebels. But we hide ourselves here for far too long. Hyrule is currently in peril, it is our home. The so-called guilds is laughing at us from afar while tearing each other and do not care about Hyrule's well-being. More people suffer because of them, should we stay here and watch Hyrule burns or should we take back of what is rightfully ours? I'll say we'll take back Hyrule and drive the bastards out of the lands! Even if we failed, at least we’ll give the bastards a fight!" Ehrandil shouted, majority of the Waystriders and Vaillant knights cheered and they were inspired by both Zelda and Ehrandil's speech ."Shall we follow our Queen? Shall we retake Hyrule?” Ehrandil’s voice even louder and the crowd cheered and agreed with him, ”Then hoist up the colors!” Ehrandil shouted and the banners of Waystrider, Vaillant and Hyrule rose up among the crowd thus some of warriors raised their weapons in the air. ”Know this, all of you! We’ll show the lawless guilds that the flames of the gryphon and the lion will never wither! Not while we are still live with our blades in our hands!” Ehrandil said and he drew out his sword, he turned around to Zelda with his sword brandished in the air.

”For our Queen! For Hyrule! For the Hero of Time!” Ehrandil shouted and the crowd cheered even more loudly than before, they chanted repetitively what Ehrandil said. Ehrandil approached Zelda while sheathed his sword back into his scabbard, he reached his hand to her and a warm smile went across his face, ”Shall I escort you to our hall, your Highness? Or shall we stand here until our hair goes grey?” Ehrandil asked and he beckoned his Queen to follow him. Ehrandil walked through the crowd and they cheered on his name, some of them patted on his shoulder. No doubt there would be feast throwing around the village since their Queen has returned back. ”I hate to say this but even with Labrynna, Holodrum and our numbers added into your ranks, the guilds in Hyrule are strong even though they are fighting with each other in present. If they combined...” Ehrandil looked back at Zelda, ”We’ll be talking about war.” Ehrandil grimaced as he approached the large longhouse where the information and intelligence from Hyrule were gathered. He entered the longhouse and approached a large table, it was a map of the whole kingdoms. He pressed his hands onto the map and pointed a few places on Hyrule which were marked. ”These are the fortresses which currently under control of some guilds but they are warring against each other, either for dominance or shards.” Ehrandil said and he looked up to Zelda. ”My scouts reported that some of the guilds even have shards with them, the main reason which deprives me from my sleep.” Ehrandil shook his head slightly. ”Do the Golden Goddesses toying with us? By shattering the Triforce Shards like that? How could they? Even if its punishment for you and Link, the shattering of a powerful relic is-” Ehrandil halted his speech and sighed deeply. ”Forgive me, I didn’t mean that... your Highness. I haven't slept for days since after I discovered that the shards are been used by the guilds.”
