Serving Artemis when she was away? Well, that was kind of new to him. "You know that I'm not in favorable terms with your brother, Zelda. However since it is your command, I'll do my best at his side... only if he is willing to listen." Ehrandil acknowledged his Queen's command. Despite sometimes they argued, Ehrandil still treated Zelda as a close friend but for Artemis, it was a different story. Both Ehrandil and Artemis were like eternally cold to each other thus sometimes they exchanged heat argument with each other, mostly due to their different views and opinions. Despite their spat, Ehrandil respected Artemis not just that he was a brother to Zelda, the prince was willing to do anything to protect Hyrule even though it meant to sacrifice himself.
When Zelda mentioned that she was pitied the man who almost doomed Hyrule, Ehrandil snorted softly. Since after the Civil War, Ehrandil already itched to kill Eleazar by either piercing an arrow through his head or lunged his sword through his belly. "Compassion you say? You may forgive him, Zelda but not I. That tosspot was on the top of my kill list since from the very beginning." Ehrandil said coldly to Zelda. Eleazar brought too much misery and blood upon the lands, the bastard killed too many people with no sense of guilt or regret, that man was a sadistic tyrant who wanted to rule Hyrule and other kingdoms. He wanted to correct Zelda about him even though he might ended up with lectures from her.
"Forgive me to be blunt and straightforward with you, but that man was a lost cause since the day he was a child. He was spoiled by his parents, Eleazar started showing his sadism by enjoying other people's torment, attacking servants during his fits. After getting tossed into orphanage in Hyrule, he started to terrify other orphans and formed his own merry band of orphans who was swayed to his charms. In the time of his so-called rule, how many people died by his hands? How many good men and women died from his manipulation? His misdeeds and atrocities were beyond forgiven. The reason which he was controlled by the something he did not understand was not desperation, it was his lust for more power. Do you think that if he did not summon the being he would change? Bastard would be the same individual or even more terrifying than before."
Ehrandil scowled when he remembered about Eleazar. Some of men and women who fought for the tyrant were good and brave individuals, however they were easily swayed to his lies and cause. He accidentally snapped his smoking pipe into two, Ehrandil suddenly realized he let his anger got better on him. "Shite... Forgive my temper, Your Grace."
Despite her good health, Ehrandil noticed that there were tiredness in Zelda's eyes. When she mentioned that everyone had their reasons to faked their deaths, the Waystrider chuckled while shook his head. "I learned from you, you faked your death and disguised as a Sheikah in the past. But let's us not make that a habit." Ehrandil said as he put his cloak beside him, he could felt the wind blowing his face. When Zelda asked that which war he asked of, Ehrandil pondered for a moment and shook his head slightly, "Never mind about that, my mind has been in mess like yours too." Ehrandil said as rubbed his stubble with his hand.
Zelda told him that there were a lot of tasks to be done after the war, the destruction must be repaired and boosted the army. Ehrandil knew that Zelda wanted to rebuild the kingdom but he wanted the Queen to rest, not to rule in fatigued state. "Your Grace, we'll rebuild the kingdom and strengthen our forces but you need to rest, I can see that you did not rest properly at these past few weeks. Health is important for you right now, no doubt that lad Elinkar does not want to see you in this kind of sorry state. Please rest well and put your mind at ease, let me and the others handle the kingdom's affairs in your stead. If there's any serious matter that needs your attention, I will inform you personally." Ehrandil spoke to his Queen gently while he took back the volto mask.
Sounds of laughter and joy were heard nearby, the music and a bard's voice were heard. Ehrandil could see the smile of the people, he did not see that beautiful sight for a very long time. He reached his satchel bag and placed his thin smoking pipe between his lips. "You said that we lost much but look at your people, they smile and sing in joy. You finally gave them the thing that they longed for, freedom." Ehrandil said to Zelda with his gentle smile while he chewed the tip of his pipe. He reached out his hand and pat the Queen's head, which looked really rude that he would end up in dungeon or gallows but he knew that she would not do that. "As an elder sibling-like friend, I'm very proud of you, Zelda. No doubt your late parents would say the same thing too." the Waystrider cackled softly as his hand backed away. Zelda was not just a queen to Ehrandil, she was like a family to him. They gone through a lot of difficulties and hardships together but still they took care with each other even though they did bickered and quarreled during the civil war of Hyrule, family was not bound by blood but rather by bond.
Ehrandil looked at his volto mask and looked back at Zelda. "You know, being a highwayman is really fun especially when it comes about sabotaging the great enemy of Hyrule by emptying his coffers or burning down his important resources. Eleazar was bounced around in rage when he was told that his precious caravan was robbed or his trading outpost got burned to the ground by me. I even sent him a letter to mock him, like adding more oil to the fire." Ehrandil said with his laughter followed. After he faked his death, Ehrandil took the volto mask which he bought in Holodrum and disguised himself as Raven The Highwayman in Hyrule. He robbed Eleazar's men mostly at the roads of Hyrule and burned down buildings which was important to the bastard. Not just the mask, Ehrandil had to act like Raven, a jovial, comedic and mysterious masked highwayman to avoid suspicion being the Waystrider chieftain who was dead. He also needed to change his ranged weapons too, he trained himself using the handheld crossbows before he started his first robbery.
Dancing and music were around the place, minstrel sung while citizens either drunk or dancing together, they celebrated for they gained the freedom and the war has ended. These people survived the war and lived to see it or tell it to the next generations to come, however others were not fortunate as they died in the war or caught middle of it. During the festival for freedom, a group of cloaked figures while a man in black fur coat leading them.
Bow and quiver of arrows slung across their cloaks while longsword sheathed beside their waist, these cloaked figures were Waystriders or commonly known as the Rangers. They fought in the war and many of their kin were lost their lives, they fought and died for what they believed in. The man who leading them was Ehrandil Thurindal, the chieftain of the Waystriders. Ehrandil already joined the Heroes during their fight against the tyrannical king Galadhion of Labrynna but alot of misfortune happened after that. He did became the royal advisor to the Queen before the civil war, they had a fall out before they lost the entire kingdom. That was in the past, Ehrandil joined his Queen again but as another different person, a highwayman known as Raven. Most of the Heroes thought he was dead but Ehrandil purposely spread false rumors about death so that he would not put his people or Holodrum in danger. However during the final battle, Ehrandil revealed himself to the Queen at the Hyrule Castle. He was unsure what would happened during his next meeting with the Queen.
"Do the sixth ranger detachment report back from the Lost Woods?" Ehrandil asked his apprentice Este, a young female Waystrider ranger. "They do, chieftain. They reported that the remnants and stragglers of Eleazar's forces were surrendered themselves to them, without putting up a fight." Este told the chieftain who sighed with relief. Since after the death of Eleazar, the Rogue Order became chaotic as either they fled or fought among themselves who should be the next leader or what to do next. "Good, tell them to lock the prisoners up in the dungeon and double the guards. However I doubt that's all of them, have our rangers widened the search around Hyrule, I want the remnants of the Rogue Order to be found. Search every forest, every hills, search every nook and cranny. Notify the Hylian soldiers too. The more of us, the faster the search." Ehrandil told Este, the apprentice nodded her head in respond. Despite the war has ended, Ehrandil wanted to capture all of the members of Rogue Order, dead or alive.
"... Once all of them captured, what will you do to them?" Este asked Ehrandil as they continued to walk down the road, some of the citizens cheered the Waystriders but they did not pay their attention to them. "That's up to Her Majesty decide and judge, not me." Ehrandil said bluntly to Este without looking at her. "Yes, Master but... what if Her Majesty put the decision into your hands?" Este asked without thinking. The Waystriders stopped, some of them looked and stared at Este with disapproval. Ehrandil bitten his lower lip slightly and turned around, scowled at his apprentice. Este looked at apologetically and bowed her head, "Forgive me, my lord. I didn't mean to question you." Este apologized to Ehrandil who sighed deeply and looked at his fellow Waystriders. "... I'll decide what to do next after hearing their case... That will be all, dismiss." Ehrandil said, the Waystriders bowed their heads and left, each of them into their own way.
As he walked down the street, Ehrandil saw someone sat beside a fountain. Despite she was in different clothing, Ehrandil knew who she was. He approached the fountain and sat beside her, the Waystrider pulled his hood down and sighed deeply. "So you finally out of your own "prison", after all these weeks." he said to his Queen jokingly, he undressed his fur cloak and wrapped it around his arms due to the warmness sun. After the war, Zelda locked herself in the castle for weeks and nobody knew why. Something told Ehrandil that Zelda either saw or did something in the castle but, he preferred not to ask unless she told him... at least she was no longer locked herself in the castle. Rustling his satchel bag, Ehrandi grabbed out a mask which he used to cover his identity during his time as Raven the highwayman. He placed it beside Zelda without looking at her, "Forgive me, Your Majesty... that I faked my death, there were reasons I do so." Ehrandil said to Zelda. "... What a bloody mess we left after the war, Zelda."
He dressed himself up as the advisor of the Queen, Ehrandil walked down the hall with two Hylian Knights. A day of audience with the council in the meeting room became his daily duty, Ehrandil admitted that he missed being on the field. As the door opened, Ehrandil walked into the room with the council members stood up. "Sit down," Ehrandil said as he sat onto the chair which was only reserved for the royal advisor such as him. As the council sat down, the room became awfully quiet and everyone started to discuss what would be next course of action for Hyrule. Ehrandil rested his back onto the chair and stared outside the window, the sight of the city and town soothed him a little. A time of peace after the defeat of Eleazar, however Ehrandil did not want to repeat his mistake so he had eyes and ears everywhere in the town just in case if there were any emerging threats. "Lord Advisor, there has been reports about emerging Stalfos at the forest near Hateno Village, the local militia is pleading for aid."
Stalfos? The skeletons should be in the Lost Woods but what were they doing at the forest near the village? Ehrandil could not blame the militia because the Stalfos was too much for them to handle. "Knight Captain, send a detachment of your Hylian Knights to Hatano Village by tomorrow. Tell them to destroy any Stalfos they can find and do not stop until there is none left. I'll have some young Waystriders attached to the knights, since they need to learn a thing or two about fighting Stelfos from them." Ehrandil told the Hylian captain and he nodded, the royal advisor turned to the Waystrider representative, "Engorn, I want a patrol of your Rangers to the Lost Woods, see what drove the Stalfos out from there. However tell the Rangers do not take any unnecessary risks, report back to me once you found something." Ehrandil told the Waystrider representative who nodded in respond. Perhaps some kind of curses drove the skeletons out from the woods? Ehrandil could not guess anything else before the scouts reported back what they found in there.
"If there's no longer any important issues, I'll take my leave then. Tomorrow I'll be set my journey to Labrynna, possibly stay there for a week or more." Ehrandil stood up from his seat as did the council, "Anything important from you, report to my scribes and they'll handle the rest." Ehrandil said to the council as he walked through the door. Ehrandil walked to his study room and closed the door behind him, he exhaled in relief as the meeting was a short one. He opened his wardrobe, Ehrandil changed his attire into the hooded clothing. After he was done, Ehrandil pulled his hood and covered his head. Without haste, he jumped out from the window and landed on the rooftop of the Hyrule Castle. He stood up and gazed upon the city town, Ehrandil swore himself that he missed some action and now, he was going to have some.
Ehrandil Thurindal was born to Waystriders in the Woods of Winter, Kingdom of Holodrum. The Waystriders were a race of human warriors whose ancestors served Hyrule before their exile, they made their home in the Woods of Winter for centuries thus his father Thurindal was the chieftain of the Waystriders. Since as a child, Ehrandil never met his mother as she died after few days of his birth thus he was under his father's care. At very young age, Ehrandil was trained in combat by his father. Although he was trained in swordsmanship, Ehrandil was more gifted in archery. As he became a teenager, Ehrandil followed the path of the Ranger; a Waystrider who was a skilled woodsman, tracker, hunter, and archer. At the age of 19, Ehrandil left his home to look for adventures in the world, he took a lot of jobs in Holodrum and other kingdoms as well.

With a small company of his fellow Waystriders, Ehrandil became a mercenary in Symmetry Village of Labrynna and his band became known as the Wayfarers. Under the payment of Symmetry Village, the Wayfarers mostly patrolled the forest of Symmetry Village to Fairies ' Woods, sometimes hunting down criminals or troublesome beasts. However under the royal decree of King Galadhion of Labrynna, the Wayfarers' service was no longer needed in Symmetry Village thus the Wayfarers left Labrynna. The Wayfarers joined the army of Hyrule but due to his combat experience and his courageous deeds, Ehrandil's actions was noticed by Princess Zelda of Hyrule. The Wayfarers became Princess Zelda's personal rangers with Ehrandil acted as their captain, doing quests which Hylian knights could not done or involved. In the mean time, Ehrandil became a close friend and advisor to Zelda. Due to Ehrandil acted as a representative to his people, more young Waystriders set their foot onto their ancestral home in Hyrule however some of the older Waystriders including Ehrandil's father preferred to stay in the Woods of Winters.

Ehrandil made friend with Link who were recently joined the army of Hyrule. As Link revealed to be the Hero of Time, Ehrandil swore to Link that he would do anything to help him even protect him and Zelda. The peace did not last long as King Galadhion of Labrynna announced publicly about the marriage between Princess Zelda and his son Prince Perseus. On the day of the wedding, Ehrandil and few of Zelda's allies including Prince Perseus himself devised a plan of escape. However, the news of Zelda's death struck a terrible blow to Ehrandil as he failed to protect the princess. With his Wayfarers along with the Waystriders who arrived in Hyrule recently, Ehrandil escaped into the deep forest of Hyrule, away from the Mad King and his loyalists. With other heroes, Ehrandil joined the Coalition to fight against Galadhion and his allies. Ehrandil and his friends came to Holodrum but he parted ways with them as he heard that his father was dying on his sickbed. After he arrived and tended to his father, Ehrandil was appointed as the next chieftain of the Waystriders before his father's death. After the funeral pyre of his father, Ehrandil took the mantle of the Waystrider chieftain but he left the authority to the elders as he felt the war against Galadhion. He met with Ashtar who was became the king of Holodrum recently and both of them agreed that they should repair the relationship between the kingdom and the Waystriders. During the chaotic battle, Ehrandil realized that the Sheikah who led the band of heroes, was Zelda in disguise for all along. With determination and courage, Ehrandil and his Waystriders defended the Princess and the Hero from the Gods and Goddesses but majority of his clan members were killed and he was wounded. When the survived Waystriders were in distraught and hopeless demeanor, Ehrandil witnessed the appearance of the Golden Goddesses and they sealed the other gods and goddesses away into the Sacred Realm.
[break][break]
At first he thought that the Coalition had won the battle for good but it was worse, the Golden Goddesses punished both Zelda and Link for failing their sacred duties. As for punishment, Zelda's birthright was denounced and the Triforce were shattered thus scattered throughout the world thus Link's lifeless body was vanished right in front of Zelda's and Ehrandil's eyes. After Zelda's coronation as the Queen of Hyrule, Ehrandil stood by her side as an advisor and the survived Wayfarers became his guards. The friendship between Ehrandil and Zelda became more strained because the Queen had completely changed, there were even arguments between them. Feared the civil unrest in Hyrule, Ehrandil sent word to the Waystriders who settled other kingdoms that they should not settle back in Hyrule. Ehrandil strongly advised and plead the Queen to settle the unrest but his pleas were fall into deaf ears.
[break][break]
Just as he predicted, the civil war finally broke out in Hyrule and the loyalists were overwhelmed. In the midst of the battle in Hyrule Castle, the Wayfarers were completely massacred by the rebels when they made their last stand while Ehrandil fled the castle. Downhearted by the death of his Wayfarers and furious with the Queen, Ehrandil returned to Woods of Winter in Holodrum and led his people as their chieftain.
[break][break]
The relationship between the Waystriders with Holodrum and Labrynna improved greatly because of King Ashtar's wise rule and Ehrandil's leadership. Ehrandil and his Waystriders pledged their service to the King of Holodrum and his people. In the meantime, Ehrandil reunited with his long lost Queen of Hyrule in the Woods of Winter, it was a rough start but they reconciled their friendship. Even though he desired to help his former Queen, Ehrandil had his hands full as a chieftain but he would offer his assisttance to her once the time was right. When Eleazar took over Symmetry City and asked for a negotiation with the kings of other kingdoms, Ehrandil was on his personal quest to search for ways to bring back the Hero of Time however he returned empty handed. Disgust with Eleazar, Ehrandil decided to take the fight to him however due to Holodrum's neutrality, he could not risked a war and the lives of his people. Behind the back of King Ashtar, Ehrandil spread false rumors about his death, only his trusted protoge were aware of him being alive.
[break][break]
Under the name of Raven and a volto mask to covered his identity, Ehrandil became a highwayman in Hyrule. He often attacked Eleazar's men, destroying their supply depots and weapons. By the time when Labrynna declared war on Eleazar, Ehrandil assisted the Labrynna from the shadows by launching surprise attacks and sabotages. Ehrandil joined the band the heroes once more but as Raven, a jovial and mysterious highwayman so they would not suspicious of him as Ehrandil. When the final battle took place at Hyrule Castle, Ehrandil revealed his face to Zelda and covered her as she snuck into the castle. Then the battle was over with Eleazar's death, Ehrandil noticed that Zelda witnessed something inside the castle but he preferred not to ask.
[break][break] Peace were restored in Hyrule and Ehrandil became Zelda's royal advisor once more, he assisted her in any difficulties she encountered. Despite it became peaceful, Ehrandil remained vigilant and sometimes he sneaked out the castle to wandered among the subjects of Queen Zelda, either by gathering information of incoming threats and sometimes, helping people anonymously.
