[attr=class, bulk] It was late in the evening, well past midnight, as a lone giggling figure stalked through the pathways of the palace. Stumbling and staggering, she sang a recognizable Twilight song loudly to herself, slurring the words and laughing even harder at her mistakes. With one unsteady placement of her foot, she found herself falling forward onto the wall for support. Her hair covered her face. She still held a half-empty bottle of wine in her hand. After a moment, laughter bubbled back up through her chest until she was sliding down the cold stone and sitting down the ground. She hugged her alcohol affectionately, trying to catch her breath. Glancing around at the dark, blurry hallways, she wondered where in the castle she was. She could have gotten too far from the great hall where she and some other nobles had gathered for drinks. A small conversation group and quickly devolved into a drunken party that lasted well later into the night than anyone had intended. By the time she had the cognition to notice the time and excuse herself, she all but collapsed getting out of her seat. She Letting her try to make her own way back to her room was highly inadvisable, but it wasn’ like anyone else could have offered her any assistance. They would all probably end up splayed out around the palace, asleep in strange corners and blocking foot traffic. It seemed that Damari was halfway towards passing out herself, lost in some dank passageway. Haha! How funny, she found it. [break][break]
It really had been a nice time though. There was boundless energy within the group, all sharing stories and having a go at one another. Not to mention the handsome twilight she’d been making eyes at and, in her hazy mind, he’d been making eyes back. Oh, how lovely to fall in love. Already, she could see the wedding, hear the bells. It would just be so nice to get married, to start a family, have a husband, someone to love her, anyone to love her, just anyone who... Suddenly she was crying. Suddenly she had a lot of thoughts and feelings. Suddenly she was whining near-incomprehensibly about how no one ever stays with her. She’s so lonely. She misses her ex(s). Also, she’s kind of hungry. She was a touch emotional right now, and she felt the answer to this problem was to sob into her chardonnay. She didn’t even like white wines that much. [break][break]
Of course, the nice thing about being in an unclear state of mind that she couldn’t hold onto her thoughts. That meant the good ones couldn’t stay, but the bad ones also went away. Before long, she’d completely forgotten what she was bawling about. Now the only thing going through her head was that these tears had probably messed up her makeup and she didn’t like that at all. With a groan and a humpf, she slowly picked herself off of the ground. She had an unsettlingly lose grip on her bottle and the wall, but somehow stood to her feet. Wobbling precariously, Damari took a step and continued loudly meandering towards her chambers

[attr=class, bulk] The sky was dark and ominous, as if usually was in the solemn realm of Twilight. Rain and wind beat against palace walls, but those inside were none the wiser of the wrath outside their castle or in it. For within one chamber, atop a tall tower that appeared somehow crooked between the flashes of lightning, a foreboding figure was hard at work. Bottles and jars of every size lines her walls and counters. All manner of color seen and unseen danced across the ceiling. She paged through encyclopedias of knowledge rapidly before throwing each book aside with little respect for that which did not aid her. With stern frustration she gripped the sides of a large cauldron, bubbling with a stew of mysterious substances. The fire beneath the pot as well as the other sources of light played tricks on her face, making it more ghastly than it normally appeared. And yet even in the gloomy recesses of her laboratory, stricken with vexation and deep in thought, it retained it’s alluring beauty. [break][break]
Suddenly, Damari cursed and turned away from her creation in a fit. She ran her hands through her hair, looking around the room wildly. Each drop of rain against the glass of her window felt like a hammer against her head. She couldn’t think! If only her assistants were here, but it was late in the evening. The only ones still awake were her and the night guards. She knew the answer to her problem. It was stored away somewhere in her brain, she simply couldn’t access it and none of her records were making the right connections. Days, weeks, months of research had all culminated in the concoction before her. It’s completion was eminent; it was merely moments away, waiting for the beckoning of her hand to deliver its final piece! [break][break]
She paused. Her eyes were wide in realization. Her mind had found its grounding and was speeding away like a predator caught sight of its prey. She mumbled under her breath, syllables pouring out too fast to be comprehensible as if she were afraid that they’d disappear if not spoken before it was too late. In the middle of her train of thoughts, she struck something gold! Her feet moved without her, carrying her to where she so desperately needed to be. Recklessly, she tore through a supplies cabinet, almost pushing things off of it’s shelves trying to locate the final key. She snatched up a curios looking container, twisting it odd directions and held it up to the fire light to examine it. Yes! It was perfect! Everything would be complete! She tore open the beaker with fury and added it’s contents to her mixture. Slowly the new addition swirled around the potion, blending together into one consummate brew. [break][break]
The container empty, she flung it aside to a nearby desk and hastily stirred her creation with vigor. She watched the color change to its perfect shade and was filled with an exhilaration of which she knew no equal. A snicker escaped her lips. Then a chuckle and a laugh until she was cackling wickedly into the night so that the world may know her triumph! Damari pulled her utensil from the bowl, lifting it carefully to her nose and waving the fragrance towards her. Yes, excellent. It was sharp but delectable. Her subordinates couldn’t understand. They’d chastise her behind her back, questioning her methods and condemning her goals. If they were here now, they’d surely decry the inappropriateness of her actions. How could she? Here and now like this!? But she cared not for she was the only soul capable of accomplishing what she’d done. For she was the madness her kingdom needed! The insanity it deserved! And the only sorcerer willing to go to all the places she could reach! [break][break]
Pumpkin soup really was best in the evening after a hard day’s work. It’s sweet and creamy and warm in all the best ways. But surely incomplete without a healthy helping of honey. The other magicians would be right that it was hardly safe or professional to make food in a laboratory setting, but the heart wanted what it wanted. Raindrops continued to chime against the window pane as she settled into her seat. She would have to get this cleaned up tomorrow before they returned to work. But for right now, she would simply enjoy her meal quietly in the still emptiness of her lab, hidden away within the Palace of Twilight, on a dark and stormy night.
Throw the bait. Damari Talla was born of one of the Twili's lesser noble families. She lacked the prestige or wealth of some of the more prominent figured, but still didn't have to worry about having her needs met. In her youth, she was a curious child, finding interest in all sorts of odd places and spending most of her time reading to expand her knowledge. She also showed particularly strong talent for magic and was subsequentially enrolled in school to further develop these traits. She flourished in the educational environment, making full use of all of the resources around her. By the time she progressed as far as she was able to in the educational system, she was considered a brilliant scholar of many disciplines. From there she wished to continue her studies as a researcher and used the connections gained through her family and university to secure a position in the Twilight Palace. Although she started as a more basic assistant, it wasn't long before her skill and determination carried her to a more advantageous place as the Royal Court Mage, surrounded by the treasury of books, records, materials, and nearly infinite supplies. While she does have the occasional responsibility or request to fulfill for her royal liege, she's largely free to get up to pretty much anything she wanted and so Damari's experimentation has advanced to amazing heights. Sometimes, she will develop interesting technological conveniences for the Twili people or strange new spells with oddly specific uses. However, her main focus are chemistry, alchemy, and especially magic. She'd deeply interested in expanding her own power to however extent she can and her prowess is already known and respected among her peers [break][break]
Catch the shark. Outside of science, Damari also has a weakness for opulence. With her standards set by the relative luxury of her early life, Ms. Talla feels right at home among the wealthy, the famous, and the glamorous. As such, she also makes sure to enjoy the pleasures and privileges of having such a high position in a royal setting. She's grown accustomed to a certain lifestyle, so to speak, and she'd likely have trouble giving it up should she ever have to. Additionally, Damari has had an unfortunate lovelife. She has a good history of partners and relationships, most of which having ended disastrously. Even still, she is uncomfortable being alone and constantly on the prowl for a significant other to complete her if not inevitably shatter her fragile heart. She tends to be on the hunt during royal events, aided by her incredible beauty as afforded by her aforementioned wealth. However, outside of romantic interest, Damari has no real loyalty to any persons aside from herself. [break][break]
Bleed the water red. As things go, Damari Talla is no more supportive of the original royal family or the usurper. In fact, she has little interested in politics or public society in general, being rather insulted from them within the palace. Her only regard is to whichever party or method will best allow her to continue her somewhat questionable research. Oftentimes her ambition will correlate with others also seeking strength, power, and influence. In this way, she's been undisturbed by the change in rulers. On the other hand, she's actually quite likely to be agreeable with the usurper or really whoever comes to her seeking services, especially if the task is particularly difficult to show her capabilities or interesting to show her cleverness. Above all, her allegiance is to herself and to her pursuit knowledge.
Astral projection: Damari is able to separate her consciousness from her body and project it into other areas with the same senses she would have with her physical body. Damari must use her full concentration to accomplish this and cannot complete any other action while doing so. She is only able to perceive with her astral body, not her physical body and is thusly unaware of anything happening around her. While the astral body is not limited by physical barriers and is able to move around freely, it is still effected by any magic as she normally would be. [break][break]
Shroud: Twili have the ability to become one with the shadows around them, making them masters of stealth. They can hide in a shadow of any size while they are in the Realm of Light. [break][break]
Weak to Light: Twili are vulnerable to light based attacks and sunlight, taking extra damage from those kinds of magic. [break][break]
