Holding down the chest, Asthar held it down until Aryllia finally managed to utilize her power of light to seal away the creature and end the fight for them. It was certainly a thrill to be sure but they still had more to go through together. At the very least they were getting somewhere as Aryllia had just utilized a power that he had never seen her use before. While it could have been because of the circlet she wore, Asthar believed it was her own power beginning to manifest.
Eyes glanced over to Aryllia as he noticed the blood running down her nose. It was clear that the move she just performed was not something that was quite easy to do. Just seeing her bleed made the feeling of concern grow, but he didn't want to stand in the way of whatever she was doing. She wanted him to go back, she wanted to do this alone, but why did she think he even came here in the first place? She should have known how stubborn he was, he didn’t need to say it. He looked at her and remained silent as he watched her place on her cloak and walk off.
Asthar couldn’t help but let out a sigh as he shook his head and rose to his feet. “What am I going to do with her?” Asthar said with a slight chuckle as he walked forward after her. No matter what happened he wasn’t going to abandon her. He wouldn’t let her do something stupid and he wasn’t going to let either of them get hurt.
The silence of the other room was broken as the sound of Asthar’s shoes walking on the marble floors echoed behind her. Coming to a halt behind her, Asthar crossed his arms and stared at the girl as she took her medallion. “Think something will pop out?” Asthar said casually as he shrugged his shoulder. "Shouldn't matter, we'll be able to deal with it" Asthar said.

I'M A NOBODY
A SHADOW ON A VEIL
A STRANGER IN THE WIND
[music]https://audio.jukehost.co.uk/edef30b14cf0152e02fe1fb768e0fa02b1efbd11/28480ca4c2b[/music] Aryllia made her way to the pedestal, removing the medallion from around her neck. She felt the warmth of its power laced within her fingers as she traced along the design. She took a deep breath, slowly placing the medallion in the center. With a flash of light, it clicked into place, before the pedestal then elevated from the floor and levitated in the air.
It was static, lifted and perfectly still with equal distance from the floor and ceiling, the light that glimmered from the medallion shining brighter and brighter as the seconds became minutes. The young sage felt heart beating deep within her chest, booming faster and faster with every moment passed.
Keeping a watchful eye on it, Aryllia wondered what would happen next--until she heard Asthar call out after her. Eyes wide, she immediately started walking in his direction, "I told you to stay back! Who knows what might--"
With a sudden burst of light, the room began to explode within itself like firecrackers of daylight. Aryllia covered her eyes, as not to be blinded by the flash, as she stumbled forward before turning back to look at the ceiling. Immediately, the light started to encompass her as she turned to face Asthar, her face pale with panic as she started to stumble and run for the door.
"GET OUT! NOW!" And before she could reach for him, she had suddenly froze in place--light embedding within her very skin, as if it was crawling from her pores and breaking her apart. It scattered and engulfed her, and suddenly she vanished., and the pedestal slamed back into the ground.
The room filled with darkness once more, as everything went silent. The medallion continued to flicker for a moment more, but after a few moments, its light began to fade away.
The room returned to its undisturbed state, and Aryllia was nowhere to be seen. Where her body stood, the medallion which Asthar had given her had fallen to the ground.
A door began to glimmer on the other side of the room with the light seal pressed into it, glowing in a brilliant cerulean. It pulsed with a radiance, darkening, and relighting over and over.
His eyes stared on as he watched Aryllia place her medallion into the pedestal and watched the reaction as the pedestal rose in response. Something was going to happen and they needed to prepare themselves, but Aryllia was not happy to know he was right behind her. In that moment a flash of blinding light burst through the room and Asthar quickly closed one eye as he placed his arm over his face as a means to shade his eyes from the light.
She yelled for him to leave, but he wasn’t going to without her. She rushed towards him, reaching out to him as the light shone bright and in response Asthar ran forward as well, reaching out to grab her hand, but it was too late. By the time he reached her hand, all he could grasp was the empty air. He saw it all, the sight of the light erupting from her body, bursting and making her body vanish. She was there...she was right in his grasp and now she was gone in an instant...
The light faded, and there was nothing but darkness once again. Asthar just looked on in the empty space, dazed. He was filled with all sorts of feelings and it made his body pause. Confusion, desperation, frustration and even guilt, was this all his fault? Should he have just listened? His arms fell to his sides, powerless and practically limp as he fell to his knees and hung his head down, eyes completely stunned.
“What the hell...” Asthar muttered as he took a stare at the medallion resting down before him. He stared at it for a while; the silence in the darkened room harsh as he tried to compose himself, but soon enough the male couldn’t help but grit his teeth. “Don’t screw with me...” Asthar growled as he took hold of the medallion and rose to his feet. “ARYLLIA! QUIT HIDING! WHERE ARE YOU?! ARYLL!” Asthar yelled out loudly as the hand that held the medallion began to tremble as he looked around desperately. He wasn’t going to lose her. Asthar swore he was going to protect her and even if she was gone he was still going to do so.
His eyes closed and a deep sigh escaped his lips as he looked down at the medallion in his hand. Worrying and concerning himself so wildly was not going to help. He believed in Aryllia, he believed she was strong enough to deal with whatever came her way. He was going to believe in her, and he was going to make sure to help her in whatever situation she was in.
Looking up at the door that was now flashing, he knew his next destination. He wasn’t going back without her. With the medallion in hand, Asthar walked up to the door and touched it in an attempt to open it up. He was ready for whatever was beyond those doors.

I'M A NOBODY
A SHADOW ON A VEIL
A STRANGER IN THE WIND
[music]http://k007.kiwi6.com/hotlink/878tsx48vd/percy_theme.mp3[/music] As Asthar emtered into what appeared to be a room of prayer, statues of sages of the past lined the room. From the very first, up to the most recent - Aryllia's statue stood at the forefront of the room, hands crossed over her chest, just as she would while she would perform her Sacred spell.
There was shrine in the center of the room, where a skeletal like figure appeared to be in deep meditation. His eyes opened to look at the young king and the medallion which he held in his palms. He smiled lightly, before closing his eyes and pointing toward the open walled end of the room, before fading away to dust.
And so the sage passes his knowledge upon his kin, and a new trial shall begin
The words echoed within the room as the man seemed to evaporate within the shrine. Just upon the other side of the room, which was hidden by wall with a large archway, a waterfall stood at the top of the temple's room. Sun radiated down on the limestone tiles, shimmering brilliantly as the figure of a young woman bathed in the pool that was just beneath the falls.
White garbs clothed the young maiden, kneeling within the waters as she prayed to the Hylia statue which stood in the center. The medallion began to glow with a radiance the closer Asthar would appoach the woman.
"I knew you'd wait for me..." the woman let her hands fall to her side as she slowly turned to face Asthar. Bright cerulean eyes met his gaze as she waited for a response. There, Aryllia stood, a holy aura surrounding her.
After having come through the room with the chest, Asthar was much more wary about what was to come. If he had just entered this place alone there was a good chance he would have died to that creature. Without Aryllia he wouldn’t have even gotten here. This temple was her test, and without her what did that mean for him? Whatever the case would be it didn’t matter. He was going to make sure Aryllia got out of this safe and sound.
Asthar entered the newest room, completely on guard as his eyes glanced at the numerous statues decorating the place. Slowly the king began to walk through the halls, staring at each statue until finally he stopped at an all too familiar one. “Aryll?!...dear goddesses please don’t tell me I’m dating a statue...” Asthar said as a bead of sweat ran down the side of his face before suddenly he reached for the handle of his sheathed blade and instantly he turned towards the skeletal man. His body tensed as he prepared for combat.
The male clearly looked as if he was far too weak to even swing a sword. Asthar wasn’t going to underestimate him, but before he could say or do anything in response to the man’s words, the man just faded away into dust. “...well that...was easy...” Asthar said looking on in confusion as he released his blade and walked forward.
Asthar saw an opening and he walked towards it. He walked dauntless and firm as he walked towards what he sought. He was drawn to that light ever since he first saw her in that bar all those years ago. He wanted to see her smile, smile like she did those times before all the chaos occurred. He was drawn to her, and he wasn’t going to lose her. His footsteps came to a halt upon the pool of water and his eyes beheld the beautiful scene.
Crystal like water running down a waterfall illuminated by the radiance of sunlight, yet despite that the only thing that caught his eyes was the one in the middle. It was cliché, he hated describing one like that when he actually meant it...but he just had to say it. His eyes closed and his head lowed as he placed his fingers into his hair with a smirk upon his face. “What’s this? Am I truly blessed? Has a goddess appeared before me?” Asthar said in his usual cool and flirtatious way.
The smirk remained, his usually cocky smirk, but slowly it began to twitch as the composure began to break, his hand shaking a tad. “I...I...” Asthar said as his smirk turned to what seemed like a frown as the composure broke. “GODDAMNIT!” Asthar yelled as he darted forward and jumped. Jumping with all his might, he jumped into the pool of water and rushed towards her, grabbing her and pulling her into a tight embrace. “IDIOT! YOU HAD ME WORRIED! I'M THE ONE WHO IS SUPPOSE TO BE DOING THE STUPID SHIT!” Asthar yelled.

I'M A NOBODY
A SHADOW ON A VEIL
A STRANGER IN THE WIND
[music]http://k007.kiwi6.com/hotlink/sti2k81l17/Kuchikamizake_Trip_1_.mp3[/music] Before she could speak, the king had leaped toward her, landing into the pool of water before her and grasping him tight into his arms. Startled by the firmness, she froze in place for a moment, closing her eyes and resting her head against his shoulder. She wrapped her arms around him gently, and gave a small chuckle at his remark.
Gently, her hand slipped up to his face, pushing his golden hair before pulling back to look at him. Her eyes met his in grace, as alleviation washed over her. She smiled - veraciously - as her forehead rested against his. Her eyes closed, as she let out a deep exhale.
"I'm free. I've obtained so much wisdom in these few moments of clarity. I understand now what my place in this world is. My blood made a promise to the gods. I intend to keep it," she murmured, feeling as the weight had lifted from her. The pit which swallowed her whole had been undone by this enlightenment. As the sages of the past passed their knowledge upon her, the animosity which gripped her heart seemed to pass away as well.
She was alright, she was safe and sound. The sight of her desperation in reaching him, the image of the light bursting from her body and her disappearing from his grasp, it all had sent him in a panic, but she was now before him. He held her firm and tight, almost as if a test to confirm that she was really there. It was comforting to feel her arms return the embrace. The usual calm and collected Asthar finally broke for once and he didn’t care.
She chuckled, a sound that wasn’t really something he ever really heard from the girl. Her hand moved to his cheek and his eyes glanced down as their gazes met one another. Those blue eyes that were always clouded with despair and fear were now clear and filled with serenity. Those eyes were beautiful, eyes that he could help but stare at and smile softly as their foreheads rested upon each other. After all those attempts of his to make her smile, she was doing it so naturally.
He listened to his words and his eyes shut as he smiled softly. “All I’ve ever wanted was for you to be free. It was rather painful to see you in pain, the helpless feeling of being unable to help you in the slightest...it was difficult...” Asthar said softly in an almost somber tone before suddenly he out a chuckle. “Honestly, you really are a troublesome girl, what am I going to do with you?” Asthar said with a chuckle as he pulled back and held her arms gently to get a better look at her “Either way, sage or not, your still my Aryllia!” Asthar said with a cheerful grin.

I'M A NOBODY
A SHADOW ON A VEIL
A STRANGER IN THE WIND
[music]https://audio.jukehost.co.uk/kIAtwSLDzhSgb6jfVHkV6TIZEAczHxpu[/music] It was surreal; to have the very framework for your thoughts changed in an instant, and to no longer think in such cynical manners. She watched his eyes for a long moment, the feeling of his touch warming her as her cheeks stained red. His hands rested on her arms, and she pursed her lips sheepishly, looking down for a moment.
"I think... before anything else, I really need to rest," she admitted. "This entire experience has been... exhaustive on my body." She could almost fall asleep there, in his arms. She looked around for a moment, for a sign of her staff, pushing the hair from her face carefully.
"Let's go home," she smiled as she stood up slowly, taking his hand in hers. "Maybe we can go on a real date now once I've gotten some sleep."
It was hard to believe that the girl before him was the same Aryllia he had just walked in with mere moments ago. That cold and depressed woman was now replaced with a more content and happy girl. She was finally accepting him, accepting the world and its beauty. He could look down at her face for as long as he could, stare at it and never tire. This whole time in the temple had sent him on edge, worried about her for so long and yet everything turned out alright.
Her words almost snapped him out of whatever trance he was in as he gave her a soft smile. It was no wonder that she would be tired after all this, hell he was tired after the emotional roller-coaster he just went through. It wasn’t often he lost his cool like that so it was a bit taxing on him.
Her hand wrapped around his and his hand, in turn, held hers as well, feeling the warmth of her delicate hand. “yeah...home...” Asthar said as he gave her hand a light squeeze before releasing it and walking over to the girl’s staff. Taking hold of it, the male walked back over to her and reached under her legs, scooping her off her legs and holding her to his chest as he walked on.
Her asking for a real date surprised him a bit. It was certainly going to take some getting used to involving this new Aryllia, but he was liking her already. Their last date didn’t end really well, but this time he was going to fix that. “Is that so? Well I’m going to make sure you have the most amazing date possible, I’ll charm you and make sure to sweep you off your feet” Asthar said with a chuckle as he walked on before holding her closer to him, practically hugging her in his arms as he carried her. "You are my..." Asthar began to say but paused as he just closed his eyes and shook his head with a smile. “...Welcome back, Aryllia...” Asthar said softly as the two made way towards the exit of the temple.
