The kingdom of Holodrum was a kingdom filled with a dark history of greed and discrimination. Over numerous years of selfish rulers, things took a change when prince Asthar was born. Taking the throne at a young age, Asthar became the youngest king of Holodrum and eventually its last.

After reforging the bonds between the three kingdoms of the isle, Asthar reformed the kingdom of Holodrum and worked towards building a fair and peaceful land. Together he fought alongside the other kingdoms against numerous threats and managed to prevail. He found love and things truly were beginning to move towards an age of harmony for the isle, but the calamity put an end to all that.

The rise of the calamity brought forth all sorts of corruption upon the land and Ganon's malice was strong enough to awaken a hidden evil long sealed away in Holodrum. The dark dragon Onox that had been sealed away centuries ago had now been able to break free of his prison and instantly set havoc upon the land of Holodrum. Holodrum was decimated from the attack and the people did their best to fight off the dragon and the calamity's corrupted as well.

There was no hope left for the kingdom and the only thing left for Asthar was to keep his people safe. With the threat of Onox, Asthar felt the best option was to evacuate his people to Hyrule. As the evacuation occurred, Asthar stood back with his army in an attempt to defeat Onox. Asthar intended on dying alongside his army, but that choice was robbed from him. Despite his protests and struggles, when things were at their worst, Asthar was dragged away from the battle.

Asthar was forced to join his people in the evacuation to Hyrule, but as they drew close, they noticed a barrier had begun to form around Hyrule. It was the last attempt of the goddess's incarnate Zelda to protect her kingdom from the calamity, but in turn, it would isolate it from the outside world. As the barrier formed, a portion of it remained open for Asthar and his people to enter through. Asthar managed to get his people through and once they were in the barrier fell shut.

Asthar could tell why the barrier remained open for them, and he could tell it purposely remained open just for them. He knew it was because of the efforts of Aryllia Queensguard, the sage of light, and the woman he loved dearly. His people were now safe in Hyrule, but at the same time, they were his people no longer now that Holodrum had fallen. Without the duties he had as a king, Asthar was able to do as he pleased. He chose to scour the lands, seeking out Aryllia, but eventually, he found that he would be unable to reunite with her. In order to keep the barrier up, the sages all sealed themself into their shrines and were left in a meditative sleep as they continued to hold the barrier up. The shrines remained guarded as to prevent the sages from being interrupted and that left Asthar unable to see her once more.

Asthar had always desired to live a more free life, but he lost everything. He lost his home, many of his people, dear friends, and his love. He felt he truly had nothing, but because Aryllia still lived, Asthar chose to remain alive and held onto hope that one day he would meet her once more. He became a traveler that explored all over the land of Hyrule. His journies led him all around the land of Hyrule, seeking knowledge of old legends and tales. He sought out ruins and mysteries and tried his best to achieve his new goal. While staving off his curiosity was one goal, his main goal was to find a way to end the calamity and to free his love from her duty. Slaying monsters was common practice for him considering his field of work, but though he teamed up with the Shadow Seekers multiple times, Asthar never did choose to officially join as a member.

With knowledge of the land and its history, Asthar would from time to time frequent the many villages with tales and stories. Hiding his name, he became popular with children as he became a sort of wandering storyteller in their eyes. He would tell tales of whatever he learned and told tales of the old heroes as a means to keep the long history of the isle still alive. He lived for centuries, but no matter what he would always take a seat outside the temple of light, regaling tales of his adventures in hopes that perhaps Aryllia could hear him and could ease any feeling of loneliness.

The king of Holodrum, the Greudo Cheiftan, and the attendant to the Rito Chief, it truly was quite the group that was formed. Though there were only three of them Asthar believed that their small trio was a rather strong one. Ever since he got the news that his companions were kidnapped he had been in a complicated situation. Of course Asthar had his army at his command, but since the situation involved hostages he couldn’t act too rashly. He was glad that Serabi responded to his request to work together in freeing their comrades and being able to have Ati work alongside them was a huge advantage. His own identity was shrouded by the cloak he wore, but for the most part merely wearing the hood and appearing as he did made it much easier to fight. For Asthar, whenever he donned the cloak it was almost like placing away the regality of a monarch and standing as a true fighter.

Asthar was quite glad to see his little flirtation attempt at least brought out a smile on both of the ladies faces and it already showed they weren’t so stuck up. “Well said, I'll be sure to thank you after we finish kicking their asses” Asthar said as he listened to Ati’s words before glancing over at Serabi and crossed his arms and smirked. “We’ve got a good set of skills that will allow us to cover each other’s weaknesses” Asthar said as he closed his eyes and grinned “which is why we’d all best keep close to each other...something I'll happily oblige to” Asthar said cheerfully.

As he jumped off the rooftop and landed by Serabi, Asthar glanced over at the Greudo woman and crossed his arms as she brought up the notion that the ones they sought were perhaps in the dungeons deep underground. “Hmm I have something that will be of use in that regard…” Asthar said reaching back as he pulled out a folded sheet of paper and then proceeded to unfold the large piece of parchment. What was written upon the sheet were numerous scribbles that seemed to be hastily drawn, but it was clear what was written upon the sheet was a makeshift map with numerous notes. “I don’t frequent Hyrule much, but I felt it was almost imperative that this knowledge be written down for unforeseen situations like this…” Asthar said glancing at each and every section of the map. It was something that he managed to get some of his spies to work upon and while it was far from perfect it did hold some valuable information.

“While this map was mostly formed before the rise of Eleazar it still holds some key places in the kingdom of Hyrule worth notice” Asthar said pointing his finger at a particular spot. “Here is the entrance towards the dungeons…now I am always up for charging in head first, but I’m sure they are anticipating our arrival” Asthar said “In that case we have another alternative” Asthar said before pointing his finger at a specific spot. “There, next to the abandoned sanctuary of the goddesses is a passage way to the sewers” Asthar said closing his eyes with a frown “though disgusting as it is we can use it to get towards the cells. A fight is inevitable and who knows what is down there, but at the very least we can try for a preemptive strike…” Asthar said as he glanced back towards his two companions. “I’m willing to follow whatever you two decide but if we are all in agreement then we’d best make haste…” Asthar said. His body was itching to move. Numerous times Aryllia had been captured, but this time he wasn't going to sit around making deals just to free her. He was going to free her with his own hands this time.

It was hot,

His heart was racing quite a bit and the feeling was not cause by the exhilaration he would usually feel about the fight to come. Such a feeling was clouded by pure frustration and in a way it was quite insufferable. He should have expected all this to occur, but for it to occur so sudden and quick was just what made things so infuriating. Perseus was captured, Aryllia was captured and even Aizen was captured. To say the least today was far from a pleasant day. While it was to be expected that there was a chance Perseus would be captured, why was Aryllia captured once again and why capture Aizen as well? Was it a declaration of war? Or perhaps it was the work of an outside force? Asthar just couldn’t say just yet but it pissed him off to know that they would use those he cared about like that.

Taking a deep breath in and releasing it with a deep sigh, the cool breeze blowing by calming him down a tad as he glanced down at the crumpled up letter held in his clenched fist. Placing both hands into his pockets the Holodronian king casually glanced at the castle. He cared deeply for Aizen as she had guided him through many difficult moments, but he had faith in her. He knew she was strong and he believed she would be able to hold out. He believed in his attendant and believed she would be ok, but when it came to the other girl he just couldn’t help but worry. Aryllia was strong and even somebody Asthar was willing to fight alongside, but she was fragile as well. The girl had gone through so much mentally and he just wanted to take away any burden she dealt with. Just thinking about her made his heart race. For now he would just have to put his hope into the heroes that would be attempting to enter the castle that Eleazar occupied. He would rescue Aryl and make sure she was safe and then proceed to make sure Aizen was safe as well.

The cloak that coated the king began to rustle a bit as he stood upon a rooftop before turning his head and glanced over his shoulder. “Well I am quite the lucky man to be working with some dazzling ladies today” Asthar said closing one eye with a smile as he looked upon the two that would be working alongside him before fully closing his eyes. “I know you two may have your own reasons to be doing all this, but nonetheless I wish to give my thanks” Asthar said softly as he turned and glanced out at the streets. “Now then…a loyal dog is usually near their master…we’d best move and get this over with. The enemy base should be nearby” Asthar said.

Asthar’s suggestion to speak with Eleazar in person was met with a disapproval tone from his advisor but at the same time she didn’t stop him. It was reasonable for her to feel this way about what he just said as there was a huge risk involved with this meeting, but it wasn’t like Asthar did not think this through. “Come on now Aiz! I’m not THAT much of an idiot!” Asthar said with a grinned as he placed on his shirt once more before getting up from his seat.

Taking a few steps he stood in front of a window and crossed his arms as he merely stared out atat the darkened town. “If I go alone I will be killed with ease. You are free to join me but I will be bringing along an army as well in the very case that things do get sour” Asthar said with a calm tone as he closed his eyes with a sigh. “I know you are worried, but I’ve put my share of thought into this. Holodrum and Labrynna had been at war with each other for ages. Neither one of us had been able to overcome each other. In terms of this logic it’s safe to say that though all this time we’ve been equals. In this regards, if Labrynna falls…even if it is a small portion it will be a bad sign for us. Eleazar is confident that he can truly fight against Labrynna…and I believe he might be able to” Asthar said as he looked over his shoulder at Aiz once more. “I would like to say that perhaps we’ve already broken past that equilibrium we’ve had with Labrynna but I cannot say for sure as we’ve now put aside out differences. Regardless if we don’t confirm neutrality with his rule he’ll only arrive at our borders and from there it will be too late” Asthar said before rubbing the back of his neck.

“Now don’t get me wrong, I am no coward who is afraid of the outcome where we must fight Eleazar. I should probably detail what exactly happened in that castle during that mission” Asthar said closing his eyes as he scratched the back of his head with a frown “hmm how should I put this…well…Zelda tried to free her hero from his prison and well…it worked, but…well to put it simply…The master sword is broken, Zelda is in a deep slumber and…the goddess Majora was released and works alongside Eleazar. Please don’t kill me when I say that Majora appeared in the castle, kicked our ass in the blink of an eye and could have killed us had she not spared us…eheh…” Asthar said before letting out a small awkward laugh as his more carefee attitude returned in hopes that he could at the very least lightened what was heavy news.

“You are mistaken, Eleazar…” Asthar let out as he let out a soft sigh as he reached out to the nearby bottle and begun to pour the beverage into his own glass before pour more into the glass of the tyrant before him. “I do not see myself as one who holds an importance over the divine, that would just make me seem pretentious…no…though I am a king who holds so much wealth and power my importance is no different than any other in this tale of life.” Asthar said as he placed the bottle of wine down upon the table before him and took a hold of his glass once more.

“The gods are to be respected; the gods are to be feared and their power is far beyond mere mortals, but to say their words are absolute? I cannot say just that. We mortals were gifted the very precious gift of a will, so long as one holds that will they can move towards seizing their own destiny.” Asthar said as he looked down upon his full glass. “While true most may not be able to claim what they truly work towards in the end it’s the journey towards end that makes it worth living. To give that will away to the divine is truly a waste” Asthar said as he closed his eyes “for beings that claim enlightenment all I see is beings that know nothing but war and strife. They are those who fight among each other as their ideals clash” Asthar said as he smirked. “Who will change this world...who will break this stagnation and who will shape it towards a new future? Majora or the will of humanity? I wish to see” Asthar said

Without taking a single sip as he held the filled glass, the smirk upon his face grew into a grin as he faced the king. “Heheh well that was enough rambling wasn’t it?” Asthar said as he rested his cheek on his knuckle as he listened to Eleazar confirming Holodrum’s neutrality. “Come now there really is no need to ask such a question at this point, but I shall confirm it. So long as you don’t interfere with my kingdom I shall not interfere with yours…” Asthar said holding out his glass. “Shall we drink to that?” Asthar said with a calm smile.

It was unfair of him to say that he had nothing to worry about if he died. If he died the royal bloodline of Holodrum would end and Aizen would take over. While Asthar wasn’t opposed to ending the tainted bloodline, he didn’t wish to bestow such a burden of a kingdom solely upon her. The burden was his ever since the moment he rose and took over his father’s duties. Asthar had been giving his advisor so much to worry about and he felt bad in regards to it, but he couldn’t merely stop and just sit around in the castle. Her words were stern and sharp and she was absolutely correct when it came to the matter. “You’re right; I cannot disagree with you about that in any regard…” Asthar said with a sigh “but even so, merely remaining in the very boundaries that are supposed to keep me safe will merely cause a disconnection with what is outside of that boundary. Those who fight and bleed for me…how can I merely sit around and face them while they serve me like this. Perhaps it can be considered selfish but I cannot experience a thing merely trying to be safe… ” Asthar said.

It seemed that all roads just lead to him needing to get an offspring and that in turn just lead to a discussion about Aryllia. Speaking to Aizen about Aryllia was just far too difficult and Asthar knew that she might not be so accepting of somebody from Hyrule with ties to the royal family. His words seemed to merely bring only concern about how they were getting too connected with Hyrule and Asthar could deal with such a topic. He was ready to speak out about it and his mouth opened to speak, but then he froze as he noticed the sudden shift on Aizen’s face
She finally connected it…

It was only a matter of time and finally that time had come. The sheer fear and disapproval was clear on her face and she made it known as well. Asthar could only just close his eyes and face downwards. It kind of hurt to see just why the woman was so upset. It wasn’t just because of her rejection of his and Aryllia’s relationship, but more so that there was something that upset the woman so much to cause such a fear when it came to a discussion about Hyrule. In a way she was an enigma at times to him in regards to her past and while he knew she held a dislike of the royalty of Hyrule he didn’t know the full story of it. In the end even if she placed on the guise of a man the young king truly disliked seeing a woman upset.

The topic instantly changed to focus more to the wounds on his body. Asthar was ready to start talking about Aryllia, but with Aizen switching the topic perhaps the woman did not wish to speak about it just yet. For the moment Asthar remained silent as Aiz check out his wounds. “I’ll be fine Aiz, I’ll get someone to tend to them…” Asthar said opening his eyes as he looked to the side. “Aizen…I’m sorry…” Asthar said softly. He had been apologizing numerous times ever since he saw the woman and while he truly meant each apology, this one was much more heartfelt in comparison.

“I assure you we will not involve ourselves with Hyrule unless the situation truly calls for it...even I have my own dislike of the kingdom of Hyrule…Holodrum will remain neutral in this changing time…I will personally meet with Eleazar to confirm it…” Asthar said.

No use for love in times of war…could Asthar truly agree with such a claim? Perhaps that may held a certain truth to it as love was something that could easily be taken advantage of. It’s hard enough to take care of one’s self, but to take care of another was a further challenge. Truly such a thing may indeed be pointless, but to live without something to love, was truly an empty life and Asthar did not wish to live that void of a life. If he was to lose whatever love he held then so be it, but to go without having experienced that love would be an ultimate shame.

Thinking about all the love stuff made Asthar wonder about what the tyrant truly believed about in regards to love. Eleazar stated there was no use for it, but then specified that there was no use for it at least in wartime. So in that regard did Eleazar merely see love as something trivial to be used rather than a mere formation of a true bond? If that truly was so then what did the tyrant have planned for his “Love”?

Time would tell what Eleazar had planned and all the talk of love was sort of dull for him. The true topic he held interest in had begun and he stared into the azure eyes listening to each word as he noticed the almost sinister smile form on the tyrant’s face. Asthar listened to every word, his eyes closing as he listened and then the tyrant stopped. A smile began to form and slowly began to grow. “Is that so?” Asthar said softly as a chuckle could be heard from Asthar. The chuckle that escaped from his mouth begun to grow and eventually it evolved into a full blown laughter as he leaned back his head. Asthar said softly as a chuckle could be heard from Asthar. Is that truly so?!” Asthar said as he laughed loudly before eventually he began to slowly quiet down and let out a sigh. “How ridiculous…” Asthar said abrupt and suddenly. In comparison to his joyful and cheerful tone from before the tone instantly shifted into a piercingly cold one. His eyes reflected the tone as the draconic crimson eyes stared down upon Eleazar.

“You’ve already fallen and accepted yourself as nothing more than a pawn? I’ve seen the goddess power and indeed even will admit such power is terrifying, but even if Majora will change the world then what use does a pawn have once its task has ended? A mere pawn can never reach that higher plane and that future you desire is a falsity” Asthar said closing his eyes calmly. “To serve, to be inspired, to even fight for one’s cause that you believe in, there is nothing to wrong with that, but to become a pawn is to sell yourself. Blindly following another’s cause and aspiration robs you of your own and the blind only go oh so far…” Asthar said.

“You who had conquered the mighty kingdom of Hyrule without the aid of the divine…for me I’ve see far more potential for something more than just a pawn of a goddess…”

He truly felt bad for making Aiz worry about him like this and though he knew it was foolish and even suicidal he just had to go. It was truly a great gamble and it seemed Asthar managed to get out with success in his mission. He was chided by the woman for his action and he could only lower his head a bit in shame. “Yeah…I know, it was selfish of me, but I wished to see the tyrant in action with my own eyes, something that mere reports cannot merely detail. I got what I went for, but there is still more I desire to witness…and besides the other reason was basically to keep Perseus at least alive” Asthar said closing his eyes as he rubbed the back of his neck and let out a small chuckle. “Heh…besides…every time I leave I feel no fear for Holodrum. Even if something happens to me I know it will be taken great care of by you” Asthar said.

Perhaps his belief in Aizen was what caused him to be a bit reckless when it came to his life, but he didn’t wish to have her bear the full burden of Holodrum. He couldn’t have done all of it without her and even now he was so grateful to have her around him able to guide him. It wasn’t that he couldn’t rule the kingdom on his own, but without her perhaps he would have lost his sense of self. She cared and believed in him and that was good enough for him. “Don’t get me wrong though…I’m not dying anytime soon though…” Asthar said giving her a reassuring smile before watching her walk over towards a mirror.

He did wonder what she would say next and the moment the topic was brought about Aryllia again he merely looked to the side and scratched the side of his cheek a bit meekly “eheh…we’ve been working together…and I believe we’ll be working together for quite the while…” Asthar said.

The moment she turned around to look at him Asthar quickly sat up straight and firm almost as if readying himself for a lecture, but he lowered his his shoulders and raised an eyebrow “e-eh? My shirt? As in…now? Err I mean…I didn’t expect to hear that from you and especially not in my quarters…” Asthar said letting out an awkward laugh, but then stopped and sighed. There was no getting out of it and there was no point in trying to talk his way out of it. Eyes closed calmly he stood up straight and unhooked the cloak he wore over his attire and then pulled his shirt over his head. The pain awakened a tad from the movement and Asthar cringed a bit but he removed the shirt and stood there letting out a deep sigh, his upper torso and arms were coated with poorly wrapped bandages. “…Its nothing to worry about…Its already begun to heal” Asthar said lowering his eyes as he looked away and scratched the back of his head.

Despite how calm and cool he was deep inside and despite even believing this could potentially be a ruse, a warmth filled his chest just a tad. Perhaps it was a feeling that could only be comparable to a sigh of relief for him, but even then he remained as calm as ever. Sure he could talk the talk and woo the hearts, but even then these feelings were still quite new to him. He looked down and he closed his eyes as a soft smile formed upon his face as he sighed and shook his head gently. “I am glad…and I thank you …but that offer should not go to me…” Asthar said before looking at him once again “Though she is important to me, such a decision only belongs to her and her alone…It will be her choice to comply” Asthar said. What he truly desired for her the most was something perhaps he too desired as well. He would not dare be the one to command her and even if it wasn’t complete, he would gift her freedom in whatever way he could.

Thinking more on it Eleazar and Zelda truly were opposites not just in mannerism. One held everything but lost it all, while the other lost everything and gained everything. “Eleazar…I will not say your words are wrong…though I do have a fondness for Zelda, perhaps your words are indeed correct, but to say that is all is that drove that woman in her actions is incorrect” Asthar said leaning back against his chair as he crossed his arms and smirked. “Though I do not believe in predestined bonds, I do know this…that woman is acting off of love. It is a blinding love that keeps her sane…well…sane for most people’s perspective” Asthar said. Of course Asthar himself knew the former princess was still sane and well, though Eleazar’s perspective of her most likely was opposite.

“That man is everything to her, her pillar of strength, her world itself. All her belief and faith had been placed into that man. Zelda truly believes in him and cannot do without him at all. Perhaps she has become too reliant on him and maybe as you said with him taking all the mire of a hero perhaps she desired to shift it towards the one she loves once again, but I feel it was unintentional. She merely holds onto such a belief that Link will save the day” Asthar said as he glanced down at the wine in his glass. “such a blinding and dedicated love…and look where it has gotten her…her love taken away to a fate worse than death, his name smeared from being a symbol of hope to mere failure, rejection and exile gifted by the very people she fought for…and finally after all her work to bring her love back and to rectify her actions…instead of being rewarded with her love she only brought forth disaster…” Asthar said swirling the liquid in the glass as he spoke before smiling as he took a sip.

“I wish to see where that love will take her…heh… Who knows, perhaps Elinkar may indeed rise beyond what she believes, but still…do not underestimate the girl…” Asthar said. “That girl is still growing…learning and experiencing what is needed…no matter how strong a person may get…hubris can always be a downfall” Asthar said placing down his empty glass on the table. “Eleazar…I desire to ask…what is it that you desire from the realm of the gods…or more so, why desire the power of the gods themselves?” Asthar said looking at the tyrant with his crimson eyes that sparked with an intense interest.

By the gods, for all those times he laughed and made fun of poor Percy for his relationship woes before Kura…he was immensely sorry. It was only an instant that he had gone all crumbling down from Aiz’s words and even then she really didn’t say much. What she said was something that was far too understandable. As king he really needed to think about the future and if his future was a short one then he needed one to continue onwards for him. It wasn’t something that Asthar hasn’t thought of, but it was something Asthar hoped and believed would be solved naturally and without any real problem.

Aiz began to speak again and with her words things began to calm down a bit. He was truly overreacting quite a deal and he needed to calm down. While sure he acted like a carefree and even eccentric person he wasn’t really one to lose his cool even in quite serious situations. It was nothing more than a suggestion, but it wasn’t the thought of getting married and having kids that really scared him at that moment, it was merely the reveal that he knew wouldn’t hold the best outcome that he desired. If there was one person whose opinion he respected the most it was Aiz.

She told him of her dislike of him looking down upon himself, but Asthar closed his eyes and smiled as he let out a sigh “Sorry, force of habit” Asthar said. He was always quick to assume himself of a lesser, but even then he was far too stubborn to merely give up on something and even accept a defeat, he would push on even if he was lesser. In that regard, despite that feeling, Aiz was absolutely correct on his standards for a woman.

For King Asthar of Holodrum finding a wife was never an issue. To wed a woman and have her bear his child was not quite hard for a man such as himself. There were many women of pure beauty that he could choose and yet even then there was always something missing, but Aiz didn’t know that that time had passed. He found somebody for him, somebody that had caught his eye that none of the others did. He hated being all mushy and stuff but that’s what that girl did to him.

Perhaps it was time he told her about Aryllia. He felt so uncomfortable and the wounds he received from the mission weren’t making it any better. He tried his best to merely hide such wounds, but the signs were there, albeit very small. When Aiz took noticed, Asthar opened his eyes a bit surprised, but his eyes softened as he unfolded his arms slowly. “Heh, sharp eyed as always Aiz…yeah that mission did not go so well. It wasn’t the prettiest, but it healed somewhat…if anything Aryllia and Perseus got it far worse than me…” Asthar said calmly as he looked at her sternly “things have gone beyond that of a mere tyrant though…” Asthar said with quite the serious tone.

Asthar sat there with eyes closed as calm and serious as ever. His arms crossed and the calm and carefree look now gone as he held the intimidating presence of a king at work. He was one who was ready to get down to business and his mind was prepped for business as well. The young king begun to listen to his advisor speak, but he couldn’t help but open one eye and raise a brow as he curiously looked at her. Something was odd, her tone wasn’t at it more masculine tone but more so it was in her more natural tone. Asthar did tell her to be herself and he did prefer to listen to her speak in her more feminine tone, but something was off. He had a bad feeling about what was to come from the conversation and it wasn’t just because of the tone she was using.

Not paying the thoughts any mind Asthar continued to listen to her speak about his mission to Eleazar and he couldn’t help but frown. It was his mistake on that part as he should have sent word, but at that time his mind was a bit preoccupied and the wounds at that time weren’t a pleasure in the slightest. They deserved to chew him out for that, but surely that couldn’t be all that they had to discuss…

"And so the council is urging that--well--"

And it was with those words that a sudden chill ran down his spine as his frown remained upon his face and he slowly begun to break out into a cold sweat. With his crossed arms, his hand suddenly begun to grip his arm tightly and an eyebrow began to twitch a tad in anxiety. He didn’t dare look at her face for he feared that his suspicions would be confirmed the moment he looked upon her face. He waited for her to speak, the sudden silence was deadly in a way and…

By the gods…she said what he feared

The sheer moment she said he was getting older his eyes burst opened and his right eye began to twitch as his jaw dropped a tad. While she did correct herself to make sure he didn’t believe that she was calling him old his expression was filled with pure bewilderment and fear.

“Y-you’re kidding right?! You can’t be serious! Me?! Have a wife?! Have a child?! So soon?! Don’t make me laugh!” Asthar said trying to put on a smile but it only came out poorly. “Your telling me you guys want a childish guy like me having a child of my own!? That’s funny!” Asthar said as he let out a really forced laughter. “hahahah you know me! I’m a huge flirt that can’t even keep a girl at all!” Asthar said as he looked to the side and scratched the side of his check with his index finger “….and even if I did find a woman…I can’t just get her to marry me just like that…” Asthar said meekly.

Perhaps all of this wouldn’t have been so difficult if he was prepared for this conversation, but the one topic that he tried to avoid and prayed wouldn’t occur had just been brought up before he knew it. All he knew was this conversation was just going to get worse.
