It was a rather busy time in the land of Holodrum. Numerous requests were being made, from things like thieves plaguing the people and the requests for funds to aid the people for the coming days. The requests had come to a close for the day, but the main problem of the matter was dealing with said problems. Allocating one’s forces were important and Asthar managed to begin to do so rather well, but for the most part the most troublesome problem remained active and unsolved at the moment.
A deep sigh was released from the mouth of the male as he sat upon his throne looking upon the parchment with a furrowed brow. “now then, how shall we deal with this...” Asthar began murmuring to himself. A group of Moblins had been ravaging the harvest and attacking passersby and villagers. It wasn’t a necessarily difficult task to deal with them, but the problem was deciding on whom to send. “Who to send...who to send...ah!” Asthar murmured until the idea formed into his mind. “You there, do me a favor. Scout out a mercenary or volunteer for the following mission” Asthar said as he smiled at the soldier standing nearby as he handed him the parchment “Anyone will do and no need to be picky. They will of course be paid, though you needn’t mention that” Asthar said as he got up. “Bring word of who you find. I’ll be in my chambers...” Asthar said upon getting up and walking off.
Perhaps a surge of inspiration filled him at that moment, but the prospect was rather interesting. His thoughts were always on the girl of his heart. Aryllia was rather special to him, though he knew there was someone rather special to her as well and he wanted to get along with said person. Elinkar Queensguard, brother to Aryllia Queensguard. They had fought as allies through the numerous wars and yet they hadn’t really spoken as much, something that he was wishing to change. It was a simple letter, a letter that would detail the mission and request for assistance. The letter would eventually be sent and Asthar would merely wait for the response.
Fate worked in mysterious ways. The response from Elinkar would come with a rather positive response and soon enough a volunteer for the mission would be found. The moment he heard the name he just couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “Really now?! Him?! Alright, tell him that he is approved for this mission and that he will be paired with a mercenary named Delterogue” Asthar said with a smile. Things were beginning to form and when the scheduled moment came, the young king placed upon his shroud and took the role of the mercenary Delterogue. Standing upon the meeting ground he would be welcomed by the all too familiar Zora.
“NEXY! ITS BEEN A WHILE!” The king yelled in a rather cheerful tone as he grinned and grabbed the male back along in a headlock. “Working together again eh? Never thought a scrawny guy like you would apply for this!” Delterogue yelled as he released the male and smirked. “This’ll be fun. Come along, we have to meet with our third party member” Asthar said as he signaled for the Zora to follow along.
It didn’t take long for the two of them, especially as their meeting spot wasn’t too far, but in the end Asthar smirked as he walked up to Elinkar still wearing his shroud. “Yo! It’s been quite the longtime indeed. How’s Zelda doing?” Asthar said with a grin.
Nex was a grumpy lump of scales, but he was an amusing one. There was no need for him to be helping and if anything this guy could have run away by now. There were so many opportunities for him to run, at least opportunities Asthar saw. Either Nex wanted to help or perhaps he was just an idiot that didn’t know how to leave. Regardless the two were in this together and now they would have to settle this together.
They were so close to finishing this and if he could get this over with without catching the ire of his guards then that would be amazing. They needed to handle this with tact otherwise they’d be going on another chase once again. A smirk could only form as he listened to Nex’s review of the pie. It was a rather average comeback if he would say, but it was still a comeback nonetheless and it was fine with him.
Following along with the male, Asthar couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow intrigued as he placed a few rupees on the table and took what seemed to be a pair of rather thick baking gloves. “I’mma borrow these” Asthar said to the baker as he began to place on the rather pink cat shaped oven gloves and followed along. “I didn’t...but I did...” Asthar said simply as he walked along. He knew all too well of Holodrum’s main problem and he lived his life through it. Letting out a chuckle, Asthar smirked as he looked down at the bedsheets and then at Nex. “hmm? didn’t figure you to be such a fashionista Nexy” Asthar said.
Soon enough their target was right before them and Asthar looked on curiously. “daaaamn that cats got game!” Asthar said he approached quietly and held out his arm before Nex, stopping him from moving any further as he proceeded to hold up his gloved hand over his face, “shhh...” Asthar let out as he began to tip toe over to the cat. Not a single sound was uttered as Asthar walked forward. Though he may be loud and eccentric, this was different. The years of sheikan training showed as he snuck behind the cat that was perched outside the window and the moment he reached behind the cat his arms stretched forward. With his oven gloved hands he attempted to grab the cat and hold it in his grasp. With the cat in his hands, Asthar held his arms out with cat in hand, trying his best to keep his distance in case the cat began to turn into a torrent of swiping claws.
“GOTCHA! Maribelle was caught! Asthar said with a grin. “C’mon now, a certain little girl is waiting for you and trust me, those kinda guys live to break hearts!” Asthar said.
His blade now sheathed and his hand now having a tight grip upon his buddy’s collar. His plan worked marvelously and the cats began to fight over their mean, but Asthar knew that this wouldn’t last long and whatever ire they had would be upon them. It was why he couldn’t spend time dawdling and pulled his friend along. Handling a bunch of cats wasn’t really something he couldn’t handle, hell he could probably use it as a good form of training, but it wasn’t like he wanted to go around slicing up cats.
Asthar was rather nimble and fast, something a boon from his years of training though it seemed that the Zora was not. Asthar continued to drag him along until his companion managed to gather his footing and follow along. All the while Asthar ran with a bright grin on his face, almost as if he was enjoying the moment. They had their destination in mind and once Nex was able to run properly he began to run alongside him until finally, they closed in to the bakery up ahead.
Nex managed to burst in first and it kind of surprised Asthar as he rushed in first immediately shutting the door behind him and leaning against it, sliding down and began laughing happily as he tried to catch his breath. The moment he glanced over at Nex he couldn’t help but burst into an even louder form of laughter as he got up and patted the Zora's shoulder “Gotta say, that is a nice look! The ladies will think you’re quite sweet!” Asthar said tossing a handkerchief into his messy face as he walked over to the baker and pulled out some rupees and slammed it on the nearby counter.
“That should cover it for the pie! I must say it looks like you make some delicious treats around here” Asthar said with his usual bright and cheerful tone, but then that faded all of a sudden as his smiling face turned to a scowl in a mere instant. “but if you speak to him like that again and we’ll be having some problems...” Asthar suddenly said almost threateningly, the tone of his voice was much more serious and almost chilling. Walking over to a nearby grin, the male once again smiled his cheerful smile and he sat down with a bright smile. “Aaaaaaaaanyways, a cat we’ve been looking for has entered into your shop up above” Asthar said pointing upwards at the second floor. “Once we grab the feline we’ll be out of your hair in no time! Hell, we might even buy a few things!” Asthar said grinning.
Asthar got Aryllia something he felt would taste and look delicious. Of course he didn’t really know if she liked strawberries or even sweets so this was all a gamble and a gamble that paid off rather well. Just seeing her looking so sparkly eyes at the delicious dessert was something that made his heart melt with joy. It seemed the girl really liked sweets so that was something he had to add to his mental notes. There was still loads he needed to learn about her and he wanted to learn everything about this new Aryllia.
The two began to eat their dessert, the girl more so quite focused on hers. When Asthar began to speak his rather roundabout request of dancing with him and then looked over to her, his heart nearly skipped a beat. His eyes widened a bit and mouth opened a bit as he saw the girl with puffy cheeks filled with the crepe he bought her. It had caught him off guard and it was immensely weird to see that cold Aryllia now all bright and cheerful, but there was one thing that he could definitely say about the scene and that was that this girl was absolutely adorable and he would protect this adorableness with his life.
Asthar couldn’t help but laugh a rather cheerful laugh as he pulled out a napkin and gently wiped any remnants of food off her mouth and smiled. “You don’t have to be good, you just have to have fun!” Asthar said giving her a grin and then winked “besides, you owe me a dance” Asthar said cheerfully. Of course, the last time he asked her for a dance was during her brother’s ceremony in which she was rather grumpy, but he never held it against her and this time was different.
With a smile, Asthar took her hand and gently pulled her along. “C’mon lets go for a walk through town...” Asthar said as the two began to walk onwards. As the two would begin to walk together, something began to bother Asthar, something nagging his mind a bit as he walked on. “Say Aryll...what are your plans for the future?” Asthar said “have you ever thought about what you’d be doing? Where you’d be going?” Asthar said.
When in such a busy place filled with all sorts of things and people it was rather hard to be able to find whatever it was a person was looking for. If one dropped something or misplaced something then that was going to be a challenge, but they had the good fortune that their target had a name and had the ability to hear as well. Asthar saw that as a grace, something that they took advantage of and so his yelling began. Of course he really didn’t care about gathering attention, hell so long as it was the attention of the target then who gave a damn?
Nex clearly didn’t seem to think this would work and he had very good reason to believe so, nonetheless he had to try! Upon Nex’s words, it seemed like the cat was on the king’s side as the meow of response seemed to prove Asthar’s words were correct. “HAH! See! Told ya it’d work now we just...got...to...damn it...” Asthar began to say rather cheerfully only for his tone to devolve into a somber one as he just noticed the swarm of cats beginning to form right before them, bearing a hunger that seemed rather threatening.
“oh? Looking for a fight?” Asther said calm and almost coldly as he placed a grip upon the sheath of his blade that rested upon his waist. Flicking his thumb, the blade rose from his sheath, letting out a click as Asthar looked forward narrowing his eyes. “Then I shall respond to your challenge...” Asthar said as he threw the fish he held up into the air and took hold of the blade’s handle, crouching slightly. The fish fell downward and as it grew close, Asthar swung his blade, the flat part of the blade hitting the fish and knocking it towards the swarm of cats, almost as if he used his sword like a baseball bat. Sheathing his blade as quick as possible, he turned away and grabbed the back of Nex’s shirt and pulled him as he began to run “RUN! RUN! RUN!” Asthar yelled.
Flirting was all he knew how to do, so he wanted to know that if Aryllia would be drawn in by his words and to his joy she took the rose from his grasp as she began to blush the shade of red he had been looking for. She liked it! It was a success so far! It was odd not hearing a rebuke from his advance, but she still held that confusion she always had which was reasonable.
Giggling children running about, people talking cheerfully while some rather burly men would walk by with supplies to set up the festivities. In comparison to the kingdoms of Hyrule and Labyrnna, Holodrum was not as fancy so to speak. Only certain areas had that feeling of aristocratic feel, but that was changing. Ever since Asthar took the throne the gap was beginning to change. Looking at the people he just smiled. Poor or rich, this celebration was for all and he wished to keep it like that.
Almost like a child before a stall of numerous sweets, Asthar just didn’t know where to start. Glancing down at her, Asthar just smiled softly as she began to speak. “There is a lot to do! Performances! Tournaments! Food and drinks! Music! Dancing!” Asthar said as he chuckled and shook his head. “but I’m guessing food is a good spot to start” Asthar said giving her a smile as he perked up a bit and glanced over at the pastry shop he was right in front of. “Give me one second” Asthar said raising a finger before rushing off into the shop.
It was a bit of a wait, but before long Asthar returned back bright and cheerful, in his hands were two crepes that wrapped around some rather glistening strawberries. “Sorry about the wait! Enjoy!” Asthar said as he handed her one. “Later on, when the sky turns dark, the stars are going to coat the sky along with the bright moon. Right below those lights the people of Holodrum will dance to the music they play...” Asthar said as he looked over to her. “...what I’m trying to get at is...well...do you want to dance with me later?” Asthar said.
Perhaps Nex was right, perhaps it was wrong to promise something that there was a possibility that he wouldn’t be able to fulfil that promise, but at the same time he couldn’t just ignore her. If he didn’t help her then who would? At the very least he wanted the girl to know that there were some people out there that were willing to help and it was something that Asthar wanted to do. That being said, Asthar walked a bit ahead and looked over his shoulder at Nex, closing his eyes with a bright smile. “All the more reason we find this cat! Nice to see you care enough for the kid to worry about her like that!” Asthar said cheerfully. Nex seemed rather antisocial, but he was joining him in this little quest so there must have been some interest the Zora must of held.
Despite his words and cheery attitude, finding a cat was going to be a time consuming thing and he knew that his time wasn’t as free as he wished it was. It was upon this realization he could help but slump a bit as he rubbed the back of his hooded neck. “ah...though Aiz is going to kill me” Asthar grumbled to himself. In the end he knew that if he didn’t return back he was perhaps going to be getting a scolding. He rushed a bit looking around eagerly, but when he heard Nex’s words about a fish stall his attention quickly turned to the cart.
“Perfect! Cats enjoy a nice fish to devour!” Asthar said smiling happily as he walked over to the stall. “hmm smells good!” Asthar said looking over at the merchant was cooking a few fish over a flame. “Lemme grab three pops!” Asthar said as he pulled out a few rupees and made the transaction. A grin formed on his face as he received a trio of cooked trout on a stick and handed one over to Nex. “On the house!” Asthar said taking a bite of his own while waving the other in his hand. “Oi! Maribelle! We got some tasty fish for you!” Asthar yelled out.
Asthar was a flirt, a womanizer to say the least. He had wooed the hearts of numerous women, but never had he formed any form of bond with any of those women that he flirted. Sure he took them around town or so, but he never did take it further than that. He just knew what to say, almost as if he made it a natural part of him to flirt with a pretty girl walking by. It was never to demean or insult, but just for a time of fun between the two. Perhaps that experience was what helped him get Perky laid.
All that experience and yet it did not help him exactly. He didn’t want to see Aryllia as just some pretty girl. He saw her as more than just that, which was why he was so deep in thought. He just wanted to make her happy, make her content. It was something he tried so much to do even at her lowest point. As he was so deep in thought, his mind didn’t truly register who that voice that spoke to him belonged to.
A single eye opened up as he looked to see who approached him and then the other opened as both eyes widened a tad. That sheepish soft-sounding voice caught him off guard and it surprised him to see that it was Aryllia herself. Perhaps he was a bit used to the curt and disdained sounding voice responding to his weird antics, but it was certainly different. The once battle-hardened maiden had become a much more beautiful maiden that almost shocked Asthar a bit. She seemed particularly fond of green, but green was something that always worked for her.
A tint of red began to form on his face as he stood there stunned for just a moment, but almost like a switch, it seemed a defensive measure took place mentally as he suddenly lowered his head and fell to one knee. A hand reached behind his back as he pulled out what seemed to be a beautiful red rose that was instantly held up before the girl. “Though it pales in comparison, I offer this rose, to the most beautiful rose of my eye” Asthar said raising his head and look up at her, giving her a smile before letting out a chuckle as he rose to his feet.
A step was taken forward as he held the rose in between them and looked down at the girl, smiling softly as he looked down at her through the black bangs of his long hair. “You look incredible” Asthar said before looking to the side as he rubbed the back of his neck a bit meekly. “Just...uh...let me know if you’re ever feeling uncomfortable...” Asthar said before turning to look out at the streets of Horon. "I heard some doofus of a king decided to give his people some funds for today to celebrate the reprieve of conflict that's been going on...things are going to be a bit more...cheerful around here..." Asthar said.
The end of that war had finally come, a time of peace was beginning to build and a time of recovery was starting to occur. Though Holodrum stayed out of that war for a majority of it, they still took part in that war and now they could enjoy that victory. There was much work to do for each of the kingdoms that took part in that battle, but there were times they needed to just let go and this was one of those times.
Things weren’t going to end up like last time and hopefully, it would end up with another fight. It was a bit of a frustrating time, frustrating for both him and Aryllia, but a lot had happened since that time and now this time she was the one that wanted this date. Asthar chose to go about with the same attire he wore the previous time. Blond hair had turned to black and the red eyes he was rather proud with were camouflaged with the color of blue. Sheikan magic worked wonders for disguises and with it, he merely looked like any other Hylian while still holding his rather familiar look. A simple attire of a white tunic and a pair of black pants and boot and he was ready.
The skies were bright and the weather was warm. The people were going about on their day, the streets all cheerful and busy and yet Asthar wondered if that was going to be a problem. Aryllia didn’t really like being around people due to her paranoia, but the thing about that was that perhaps changed. Aryllia changed so much and so fast that it had become new territory for him. He always did pride himself in knowing how he was going to deal with a lady, but this was going to be all new. Regardless this was the same Aryllia he knew, the same Aryllia he cared for.
Surprisingly the male had arrived early for once, standing in front of the sweets shop he chose as a meeting ground for the two. As the male stood there he was rather deep in thought as he closed his eyes and held chin with an audible hmm as he rested the other hand on his waist. He said he was going to make this the best date there was, but how exactly was he going to do so? The thoughts merely lingered in his mind.
It was hard to believe that the girl before him was the same Aryllia he had just walked in with mere moments ago. That cold and depressed woman was now replaced with a more content and happy girl. She was finally accepting him, accepting the world and its beauty. He could look down at her face for as long as he could, stare at it and never tire. This whole time in the temple had sent him on edge, worried about her for so long and yet everything turned out alright.
Her words almost snapped him out of whatever trance he was in as he gave her a soft smile. It was no wonder that she would be tired after all this, hell he was tired after the emotional roller-coaster he just went through. It wasn’t often he lost his cool like that so it was a bit taxing on him.
Her hand wrapped around his and his hand, in turn, held hers as well, feeling the warmth of her delicate hand. “yeah...home...” Asthar said as he gave her hand a light squeeze before releasing it and walking over to the girl’s staff. Taking hold of it, the male walked back over to her and reached under her legs, scooping her off her legs and holding her to his chest as he walked on.
Her asking for a real date surprised him a bit. It was certainly going to take some getting used to involving this new Aryllia, but he was liking her already. Their last date didn’t end really well, but this time he was going to fix that. “Is that so? Well I’m going to make sure you have the most amazing date possible, I’ll charm you and make sure to sweep you off your feet” Asthar said with a chuckle as he walked on before holding her closer to him, practically hugging her in his arms as he carried her. "You are my..." Asthar began to say but paused as he just closed his eyes and shook his head with a smile. “...Welcome back, Aryllia...” Asthar said softly as the two made way towards the exit of the temple.
The Zora before him kind of had a point in regards to his brooding. The ladies did have the hots for the bad boy brooding types so that was a good technique, though Asthar didn’t really think the male was putting on guise just to grab some attention. Nonetheless it seemed the two were now acquainted as he received the Zora’s name. A simple response but Asthar could work with it.
Asthar was always a sucker for helping out little kids. Their innocence and adorableness was quite an effective blow to his defenses. His original goal was to use his time to help out ol Nexy to find him a place of business, but it seems finding a cat was the more important thing for him.
Asthar just continued to grin as he held his new companion in his grip. In a way Asthar was much stronger than he looked and Nex didn’t seem as strong as his appearance led him to believe. “That should be no problem! Just scare the cat over to me! Teamwork!” Asthar said as he felt the tap and released the male from his grip. Once again, Asthar dropped down to one knee and gave the girl a cheerful grin. “Of course! We’ll bring her back before you know it!” Asthar said as he ruffled her hair once more. “Now then return back to the matron and don’t go running around talking to strangers...got it?” Asthar said as he got back up.
With everything set, Asthar crossed his arms and smiled as he watched the girl run off happily believing in them. Thinking on it, Aizen always did say that he needed a heir as soon as possible, but as much as he liked kids, he wasn’t ready to be a dad...especially when he wasn’t sure if Aryllia would even want the life of a royal.
Asthar shook those thoughts aside and smirked as he turned his attention over to Nex. “well, we’d better hurry before our target gets too far. She can’t be too far” Asthar said as he closed his eyes and held his chin in thought. “now then, what we need is a bait. Cats are quite troublesome to capture so we need something to capture their attention...” Asthar said as he glanced over towards the deeper part of town. “Cats enjoy food, so lets start with finding where this Maribelle is...” Asthar said.
His arms spread out and wide despite being in public. Asthar always did have a knack of theatricals. He never forced it and just did as he pleased and being one who his concealed it allowed him for much more freedom than a king should normally have. When asked about who he was, the hooded king merely placed his arm across his chest and grinned as he gave the Zora a bow. “Me? I am but a simple mercenary!” Asthar said as he stood up straight once more and grinned cheerfully. “Delterogue is the name, tis a pleasure to meetcha!” Asthar said in his cheerful tone.
His new conversation buddy seemed to be a rather downer, questioning his optimism, though that was just the kind of guy he was. He wasn’t one to foolishly believe optimistically in everything, but one needed to be optimistic at times and just thinking negatively all the time didn’t help. In response to the stranger’s words, Asthar just smirked. “Well, better to be optimistic than just sit around brooding” Asthar said.
It seemed that the Zora seemed to be having problem finding a landlord to merely buy land from, most likely get a place to set up shop on. Of course, as king he had the power to at the very least secure land for him quite easily, but it wasn’t that easy, at least for Asthar. Asthar was generous, but not just so generous that he would suddenly give land to some he just met on the streets. If they wanted land, they needed to earn it in some way. Of course there were ways that one could claim some land, a way that entered his mind. As said before, Asthar was a generous one and should he have time he had some sort of plan. “Well...” Asthar began to say but stopped as there was a sudden interruption as a little girl suddenly came darting towards the two men.
The young girl seemed as if she was hiding from something, or rather someone. Crimson eyes would eventually take notice of the matron that walked by, causing the king to raise an eyebrow. It didn’t take a genius to realize that the girl was hiding from the matron. For what reason was the girl hiding from the matron exactly? Did he have to pay the orphanage a visit? When the matron was out of sight, the male got on one knee to get to her level and listened to her speak on about her cat and Asthar couldn’t help but let out a small sigh as he smiled.
“Geez kiddo, you’re going to make the matron worry” Asthar said as he reached forward and placed a hand on top of her head and ruffled her hair with a chuckle. “here!” Asthar said as he reached into his bag and pulled out one of his best sweets and handed it to her before standing and suddenly attempted to grab the Zora into a headlock. “Don’t worry! Me and my new buddy will get your cat back before the matron finds you!” Asthar said cheerfully.
His greeting was innocent though perhaps a slip of the tongue when he didn’t really see the word chum as its other meaning. His tone alone was friendly and he held no ill will as he merely decided to enjoy a nice conversation with this Zora. A hand moved into the pocket of his pants nonchalantly as he listened to the Zora speak on about how he was a merchant of some sort and even about the whole market of Horon.
The Zora did have a point in regards to his words. Horon was filled with certain merchants that didn’t hold as much diversity from the other races. With how the people took to the feeling of other races it was reasonable to think that setting up a business in such a place was going to be difficult, but Horon wasn’t what it was all those years ago back when it was run by Rikel. It was a slow process, but the races are starting to slowly begin to return to Horon, to start or even continue their lives there. A kingdom where the exiled found home...Asthar wanted to clean these streets so all were welcomed.
As the male finished his words, Asthar couldn’t help but raise his hand and hold his chin as a small frown began to form upon his face. “My my my, that is quite troublesome indeed...though the way I see it, it just means much more opportunities for you!” Asthar said as that frown turn to a smile as he lowered his hand from his chin. “For a merchant isn’t it best to be able to provide a product of sorts that most do not have? The lack of competition makes things run more smoothly, gifting you more leverage on prices and so” Asthar said as he couldn’t help but grin a bit. “Even if you’re unwanted, I’m sure that’s not enough to give up now is it!” Asthar said as he spread out his arms dramatically. “Let your product do the talking! Chase not the people but let the people have no choice but to chase you!” Asthar said cheerfully.
Success! He made it in time! Oh how the young male began to worry he wouldn’t make it in time. His mouth almost watered the whole entire time but he made it! Granny was always one who made the best sweets, but she was very strict when it came to time. Usually he would send someone to pick it up for him as it really wasn’t very safe for a king to go about like that, disguise or not. Regardless it wasn’t like some of his elite guards didn’t know where he was and he knew what he was doing. Though a king, he was quite street smart.
With a bag of sweets that most certainly wouldn’t last rather long, Asthar strode down the streets of Horon City with a quick cheerful stride. He had some time to spare so why not take time to enjoy himself? He knew there was work to be done when he returned and though he was sort of putting it off for the moment, he couldn’t say he wasn’t really irresponsible. Moments like these reminded him of who he was and what he had to do. He never wished to lose that and though a king, being amongst the people just reminded him of how he grew up and the path he took to reach where he was.
The disguised king walked on wearing a cloak of yellow that held a hood that he wore over his head. The hood casted a shadow over his face, conceal all but his jaw and almost glowing crimson eyes that nearly shone through the shadow, revealing his sheikah heritage. Those very crimson eyes glanced over at the traveler of sorts, taking notice of the Zora that sat upon the nearby bench and a feeling of curiosity began to build as he was chewing on his sweets.
Asthar knew that Zora’s were unfortunately uncommon in the city. It was something he had been working on dealing with, along with the gorons as well, but it wasn’t as easy to just dispel feelings of racial hate and distrust so easily. Nonetheless he was curious of what this Zora was so concerned about. He heard the words about finding land, but why was it that he needed land and why was it that he was so exasperated? “Why so glum chum?” Asthar said approaching the male with a bright and cheerful smile.
She was alright, she was safe and sound. The sight of her desperation in reaching him, the image of the light bursting from her body and her disappearing from his grasp, it all had sent him in a panic, but she was now before him. He held her firm and tight, almost as if a test to confirm that she was really there. It was comforting to feel her arms return the embrace. The usual calm and collected Asthar finally broke for once and he didn’t care.
She chuckled, a sound that wasn’t really something he ever really heard from the girl. Her hand moved to his cheek and his eyes glanced down as their gazes met one another. Those blue eyes that were always clouded with despair and fear were now clear and filled with serenity. Those eyes were beautiful, eyes that he could help but stare at and smile softly as their foreheads rested upon each other. After all those attempts of his to make her smile, she was doing it so naturally.
He listened to his words and his eyes shut as he smiled softly. “All I’ve ever wanted was for you to be free. It was rather painful to see you in pain, the helpless feeling of being unable to help you in the slightest...it was difficult...” Asthar said softly in an almost somber tone before suddenly he out a chuckle. “Honestly, you really are a troublesome girl, what am I going to do with you?” Asthar said with a chuckle as he pulled back and held her arms gently to get a better look at her “Either way, sage or not, your still my Aryllia!” Asthar said with a cheerful grin.
