"And, as dictated by history, the Hero comes for the Goddess. How utterly delightful.”

The moon was high in the desert as Majora faced down her Hero, Master Sword drawn, blood trailing from a cut to his face. Zelda was on her knees at her side, quietly begging Link to leave, but he shook his head and raised the sword again, pointing it at the Goddess. She gave him a light “tsk tsk” and raised the single dagger she held.

“You know the result will be the same, my dearest. You lack the Courage to awaken that blade. Just put the sword down and g-“

She was cut short as his free hand went behind him, drawing something forward, and eyes went wide when he slipped the mask he had over his face. It was far too familiar, and she pushed Zelda to the side with a snarl on her mouth.

“Where did you find such a thing? Learn your place, cur. Not even the Fierice Diety can defeat me now.”

His screams of agony only lasted a couple seconds before the Mask granted him his power, but she noted it was different from before. No new form, no new sword. But there was much power about him. She barely caught his blade on her dagger as he rushed in, parrying it to the side. He was faster, and stronger, but there was a feral strength about him, emanating from the mask. With her last parry, she scoffed and reached out with her other hand, an eldritch tendril whipping out to restrain his sword hand. She walked in as he struggled, leaning down to be face to face with that mask.

“You dare put that before me? I’ve thought up your punishment, boy, one you should love. If you want to wear that mask, then perhaps I should have you take it home. Rampage your way to your Princess, my dearest.”

She felt his strength snap the tendril, but her hand was already against her chest, and with a blink in space, he was gone. Zelda cried out, and she sighed, sheathing her dagger and turning to the incarnation of Hylia.

“As for you, there’s a certain eyesore I need you to retrieve for me. So, be a dear, and do me a favor. I’ll keep a good eye on Hyrule for you.”

Before Zelda can protest, she was already gone, thrown to Termina as well. Finally, all was quiet, and Majora looked around, before sitting down and chuckling.

“It’s time my plan begins.”

For once, life in Hyrule was peaceful. It was a strained kind of solace, but monsters were few and far between, and nobody was really actively trying to kill each other.
[break][break]
That solace was broken by a cough, which turned to two, and four, then many. What seemed to be a sickness infecting the people of Hyrule spread fast, before its horrors were fully realized. The infected would suffer severe physical symptoms, including the blackening of flesh and the coughing of blood, and any attempts at the ingestion of food and water would be met with severe levels of vomiting. However, none died, just withered from life, hardly able to do anything. Castle Town, the Zora Domain, and many of the settlements in Hyrule were hit by the infection, and the sick were forced to quarantine to stop what was clearly a plague. Castle Town sectioned off half of the city to hold the sick, enforcing strict guard on the quarantine zone. The City in the Sky also took refugees, as they were non-infected, and the Heroes of Hyrule were able to isolate any cases and get a majority of their members away from the infected.

Some weeks went by with no cure when they began showing up. Witches garbed in crimsons and golds, masks on their faces, bearing elixirs of gold and silver, claiming to worship a Goddess who could save those sick. And cure some they did, but it was just a power play, an example of what they could do for the people. They told those not sick or cured to bring the afflicted to them when the Red Throne rose, and disappeared without a trace. The leaders of each faction have scrambled for answers, and Hyrule has suffered.

Welcome to the Plague of Hyrule.

Hyrule is under quarantine! This means that getting in and out of the country is going to be very difficult unless you can prove you are not taken by the illness.

While Hyrule deals with its inklings of plague, Labrynna prepares for war against Eleazar, with Perseus heading the battle in the name of his fallen beloved--or so he thinks is fallen. The Heroes of Hyrule hear of his plans and will attempt to intercept their forces before they make their way to the plague ridden city.

With Link and Zelda ported into Termina, Hyrule has some trouble to deal with while Majora makes the realm of light her plaything.[break][break]
Meanwhile, Zelda is attempting to retrieve her Hylia Mask, while Link attempts saving Zelda from what may be lurking in the shadows of this parallel world. What will they do? Who will they come across? The decision is yours.
