A LEGEND OF ZELDA ROLEPLAY
Welcome to ZRP! We are an non-canon RP site with an original tale taking place within the
lore of the Zelda Franchise. While the events of this site are entirely non-canon, we take advantage of the canons of other
games to explain its story fully. As such, we are located within the CANON TIMELINE. Do you like what you see? If so, feel free
to register and join our story! If you have any questions, you can join our discord, located in our important links!
11/12/21 GUESS WHO'S BACK! Thats right, and we are cooking up a good ol reset for everyone. Please be patient as things will be a little empty as we archive. Pop into discord if you have questions.
In order to understand how to level up properly, you must understand the use of Triforce Shards. -- Triforce shards are your primary source of magical power. In order to upgrade magical spells and equipment, you require a certain amount of shards.
All members will start with one triforce shard as of character approval, that they may choose to use for magic spells OR an inventory item.
Depending on the amount of shards that you have, and where you decide to put them, will determine what ranked magic you can use for each.
In order to use rare spells, you must have 2 shards.
In order to use legendary spells, you must have 3 shards.
BALANCING YOUR SHARDS
Triforce shards are a unique currency in which they are not taken away from you. You will be able to purchase items based on the actual number of shards you possess, while also spending rupees to have removed from your account.
This means that if you have 3 shards, you could purchase any item that requires UP TO three shards in the shop, providing you have the rupees to spend. Think of Triforce Shards as a level of power you possess, to be able to use certain items/ranks of magic.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAGIC EQUIPMENT AND SPELLS
Magic spells are created from the person, not the equipment. This means that you directly wear the Triforce shards on your person, or they are somehow infused with you. The magic you use is from the power of these shards within you, drawing from your mana pool.
Magic equipment are shards infused with a weapon, trinket, or piece of armor. The magic used from this equipment is drawn from the weapon, rather than the person. The more shards infused with the weapon, the higher rank of magic can be used for it.
You are as well able to infuse shards with your pets, which works in the same sense as equipment.
The amount of shards you can obtain is unlimited.
Please note that you must still purchase upgrades with rupees in order to officially upgrade your items.
WAYS TO OBTAIN SHARDS
DUNGEONS
The easiest way to obtain shards is to dungeon crawl. Going into dungeons with a party and defeating a boss is the easiest way to obtain loot and magic items, such as shards. The higher rank the dungeon, the bigger chance you have of obtaining more shards. The higher level you are, the lower the dungeon level, the less likely it will drop a shard.
Dungeon loot is not guaranteed to drop shards. Drops are decided by staff of the site, and are primarily decided based on the quality and length of your thread. Do not get discouraged though! Joining an official guild will help improve your chances of Shard Drops. This is because we encourage members to choose an alliance and work together.
PVP
Another way to obtain Triforce Shards is by PVP. You can fight other players to test your might. Remember that this site IS story based for the most part, so Player Killing is prohibited unless permission is given. You are, however, allowed to gamble shards with other players in PVP combat - or if you DO choose to take part in a PK fight, you can pick up their shards.
If a player that is killed possesses a Fairy in a Bottle, it must be made known to the other player. This is because, if you are fighting for shards, and a player dies and uses a fairy, they are able to get away unscathed. If you decide to take part in a PK fight, and they are okay with you using a fairy, they are able to take one shard from you from your total.
EVENTS
You are able to obtain shards by taking part in site wide events. Because they are a large part in the site plot, players taking part in it will receive prizes for taking part in it!
MISSIONS
While this is a bit rare, taking part in missions that are particularly hard, or have a boss present could result in receiving a shard as a reward in the end. The larger the party, the lower the chance of receiving one.
BECOMING AN OTM
If you are chosen as a character/couple/thread OTM, you and other parties involved will receive a shard each! In order to become an OTM, you simply just become active, especially with other members. Making friends (or enemies) is key in getting your name known. At the end of each month, we will hold a poll to choose who wins. Chosen candidates will be decided by staff.
Taking part in dungeons and missions with other party members does not effect how many shards you receive. If the reward for the boss defeat claims that the party has won a shard, that means that each party member has won ONE shard.
Accepted! You will be added to the HEROES OF HYRULE group and are gifted 4 extra stat points to do with what you please. I will leave the application up for you to edit your stats. Just holler when you're done, and I'll lock and move it. You are also gifted 2,500 rupees for completing your application.
Please note that depending on the rank of your spell, it will require a defaulted duration and cool down, unless otherwise specified. This is the MINIMUM requirement for each rank.
Common: Maximum duration of 3 posts, minimum cooldown of 1 post. Common spells can boost a trait by a single(1) point.
Uncommon: Maximum duration of 5 posts, minimum cooldown of 3 post. Uncommon spells my boost any traits by a total of two(2) points.
Rare: Maximum duration of 7 posts, minimum cooldown of 5 post. Rare spells my boost any traits by a total of three(3) points.
Legendary: Maximum duration of 10 posts, minimum cooldown of 7 post. Legendary spells my boost any traits by a total of four(4) points.
Passive abilities/spells/buff: Passive abilities will be allowed, but must be labeled as a passive. These abilities/spells/buffs are much trickier to get approved because they are much more taxing on the caster, due to them being infinitely active. Either the beneficial effects of a passive must be somewhat weaker from the amount of a normal spell or there must be some other sort of significant drawback to the passive to balance it.
While we do not have any defined amounts for damage, buffs and healing for spells they must be geared towards the level of the spell in question.
All members will start with one triforce shard as of character approval, that they may choose to use for magic spells OR a magic equipment.
Hello everyone! We are officially getting ready to open and send out our advertisements. While doing so, I would like to encourage the members who have already become apart of the site to get the word about this site out as well!

[attr="class","Vgenoptionalhdr"][attr="class","ion-chevron-right"] WHAT IS A MISSION
Missions are an option we give to allow for a randomized loot drop at the end of a thread completion. Rather than going the normal route of taking part in a social thread, you could take part in a mission either solo or with the help of others to do a mission like adventure. [break][break] Raid a bandit's lair or deliver an important message to a person of nobility - it could be plot driven or simply a way to possibly gain some loot. [break][break] Choose your difficulty and party number and it will open up a new range of options. [break][break]
Choosing your difficulty level will open up several different options for your missions. The harder the difficulty, the more dangerous and rewarding it is. [break][break] Easy Mode: Death DISABLED and generally no combat. If there is combat, it will be primarily player controlled. Chances of item drops are LOW. Rupee drops range from 75 - 100 rupees. [break][break] Medium Mode: Death DISABLED with moderate combat. When combat is evident, it will be player controlled. Chances of item drops are MILD, possibly dropping COMMON or UNCOMMON weapons. Rupee drops range from 100-175 rupees. [break][break] Hard Mode: Death is now ENABLED with inevitable combat. All enemies are staff controlled. Keep in mind that staff members are not TRYING to kill you and will generally avoid doing so unless you lack common sense. Staff controlled enemies CAN auto-hit. Chances of item drops are HIGH, possibly dropping UNCOMMON weapons and sometimes RARE weapons. Rupee drops range from 175-250 rupees. [break][break] Loot is randomly decided by the staff member taking charge of reading the mission/controlling the enemies. [break][break]
Because of the dynamic between primarily social RPers opposed to combat RPer's, we wanted to create a system that was fair to everyone and allowed both parties to power up at their own preference.
Because of this, we have an EXP/Rupee system that allows you to earn both through doing missions and adventures, as well as taking part in social role-plays.
EARNING THROUGH MISSIONS
Missions are adventures that players are allowed to go on in order to obtain rupees that allow you to purchase special items in the shop. You can also make missions to obtain items directly, like weapons, armor, etc. Generally, the amount of rupees and quality of items obtained from a mission is based on what you are doing in the mission.
-BASE MISSION REWARDS/REQUIREMENTS-
Amateur: 15,000 Rupees/350 words per post. Advanced: 30,000 Rupees/550 words per post. Master: 45,000 Rupees/750 words per post.
But what is the point of the word count requirement if we still earn EXP the same way as socials? This is to ensure that no one is abusing our system. Because the difficulty multiplier reduces the number of words per EXP, we want to make sure people are actually doing missions that require a bit of work, rather than treating it as a social and abusing the opportunity. While easy missions still use the same value as social missions, the rupee reward in the end, will be far larger than your usual social earning.
-MISSION DIFFICULTY MULTIPLIER-
Easy: Base reward value/No bonus. Medium: 2x reward amount/ 1.5x words per post. 1 EXP earned every 4 words. Hard: 3.5x reward amount/2x word per post. 1 EXP earned every 3 words.
Note that this is 'per player' in the topic. Each must post the required word count FOR EACH REPLY THEY POST AS WELL. For example: Each player will post their base 650 WC posts, and every reply must also include a 650 WC.
There is no reward for going above and beyond the required word count.
Remember that you are only allowed to be in TWO missions at a time. BOTH must be finished before you start on a new one - this means that both should be finished by the time you make another request.
EARNING THROUGH SOCIALS
While we know that there are players who lean toward social RP over combat/mission based, You can earn EXP and rupees for every completed thread you turn in. You will earn exp based on the total word count of your character's side of the RP.
For every 5 words, you earn 1 EXP.
For every 2 words, you will earn 1 Rupee.
If a thread has come to a standstill and is now inactive, you may earn EXP/Rupees for the completed posts in said thread. It will then become locked and moved to archives.
Upon creation, characters will be given a certain amount of points to place into crucial fields in the form of labeling terms: Novice (1), Apprentice (2), Journeyman (3), Adept (4), Master (5). Characters will also be given 4 blanks fields where they may place traits that are more oriented to their specific character.
Characters will be given the opportunity to reach a specific rank and upgrade their skill list as well as receive a new skill field.
If you include a history, it will be possible to earn more points upon approval by staff. You have a total of 38 points to spend across these traits. To upgrade your stats, you will purchase them in the upgrade shop.

RANKING SYSTEM
There are three different character ranks, starting at Amateur, to Advanced, and ending with Master rank. Each of these ranks is simply a label for your character's experience. It shows how seasoned they are, as well as determines a difference in ability between characters, new and old.
Ranks are used to discern the difference in power between players and cause a great deal of power spiking. In order to improve your rank you must earn EXP by roleplaying or doing missions. It takes 5,000 EXP to earn Advanced Rank (but you must also purchase it), and then 15,000 EXP to earn Master Rank.
Here at The Legend of Zelda RP, we like to allow for the most possible free-form roleplaying experience. Our traits do not take on defined points at each particular level, but rather a range of potential at which each trait is contained.
MANA EXPANDED
Despite not having set values for the other stats, it is required that we go a little more into detail about Mana because this is the only stat that must be dealt with in terms of absolutes. When it comes down to how many spells you may have per mana level, this cannot be left up to player interpretation, so it will be broken down for stat level and rank as follows:
AMATEUR RANK
NOVICE: 0 owned spells. - you are unable to use magic. APPRENTICE: 1 spell slot JOURNEYMAN: 2 spell slots ADEPT: 3 spell slots MASTER: 4 spell slots
These upgrade ranks are NOT supposed to be used to prove yourself as "the strongest person on the site". They are specifically for plot development, as well as differentiation between the different levels of skill among our group of characters. We are a storytelling RPG and do not appreciate abuse of power among the players.
