The character creation process on Z-RP is not as extensive as it seems. With this guide to help you, the steps to complete your own character can be simply taken at your own leisure.

Here you can find essential plot information in regards to making your character, as well as some answers to frequently asked questions. There are a few things that you should definitely keep in mind while making your character, and with the site growing, here is a list of things that we are encouraging from people, as well as trying to avoid.

When it comes to the race that you choose, there are several factors you should take into a account. All of our races offer special unique perks that could shape your character. So choose carefully.

Hybrids are allowed, HOWEVER you will still only be assigned ONE of the existing races. For less confusion, it is decided that all hybrids take on the race of their mother.

Note that the magic specialization is what their element affinity is, but not a requirement.

All races have become more humanoid, but retain physical traits to their old attributes. (Example - Zora commonly have blue or white hair).

HYLIANS: Hylians are the main populace of the Hylian Kingdom. They have a natural ability to use magic because of their heritage to the Goddess Hylia. They specialize in light/arcane magic.

HUMANS: Humans are almost identical to Hylians aside from their rounded ears rather than pointed. They are not nearly as capable of using magic due to their ancestry becoming clouded, however they are the Jack of All Trades. They are able to learn physical skills very quickly and are incredible with weaponry and crafting.

ZORA: Zora are drawn to water based areas, and are incredible swimmers. They can breathe underwater and specialize in water/ice magic.[break][break]
GORONS: Gorons are incredibly strong, brute and powerful. They are able to withstand heat and cannot be burned due to their tough skin. They specialize in fire/earth magic.

SHEIKAH: The stealthy assassins, they excel in hand-to-hand combat and are considered the "ninjas" of the Zelda universe. They can see in the dark and are able to see through most illusions due to their eye mutation which causes their eyes to glow brightly red. They specialize in shadow magic.

GERUDO: The Gerudo are an amazon-esc race, which is entirely of females, with the exception of one born every 100 years. They rely on brute strength and intimidation. They specialize in electric/wind magic.

KOKIRI: The Kokiri are a race blessed with eternal youth, though this does not mean they cannot be killed. They simply do not age past their tween years and have the responsibility of protecting the Lost Woods from intruders. They specialize in wind/nature magic.

TWILI: The twili are an evolved form of Sheikah, who have access between the Realm of Light and the Twilight Realm. They lurk in the shadows, and are incredible conjurers, relying mostly on magic rather than physical attacks. They specialize in dark/shadow magic.

RITO: Rito are a feathery race, either having feathers visible upon their arms, or they have grown appendages from their backside which span into wings. They can fly, and are known known for specializing in wind/fire magic.

FAIRIES: Fairies are a flying race with large insect wings upon their back. They can change their size on a whim, being naturally the size of an average hand, however they can grow to be more human in size if they desire. They specialize in healing magic and light magic.

MINISH: Minish are the forest folk, often with animal features, like ears and tails. They can also shrink down very small, as they were often feared of being discovered by intruders. They specialize in poison/earth magic.

The world as of right now is a number of various villages located within the Hyrule kingdom. The other kingdoms are not available to RP in, or have characters come from. This is to promote centered RP after the new site reset. The lore of the villages is located below:

KAKARIKO: Kakariko Village is located in the northeast side of the Hylian Mountains. It is a moderately sized mountain village inhabited by members of the Sheikah race. It is currently governed by the Sheikah Council, which has created a strict rule of non Sheikah inhabitants after the fall of the Royal Family.

DARUNIA: Death Mountain; A mountain village relying on mining ore and precious metals. Located along the ridge of the large volcano, with homes often built into the mountainside.

SNOW PEAK KEEP: Located on the very tip of Snowpeak, it was once a base for the Hylian Army, which was used during the Hylian-Gerudo war. Now it is used as a base of operations for the "Shadow Seekers", a monster hunting organization.[break][break]
BLUE MAIDEN: Blue Maiden is a fisherman's village located just off the coast of the large Hylian Lake. While populated mostly by humans, hylians, and zora, it has a popular market that attracts travelers.

ORDON VILLAGE: Home to ranchers and farmers, Ordon Village is a small settlement that relies on livestock and agriculture. Popular for their pumpkins and cattle!

MINISH VILLAGE: A hidden village within the forest where the minish keep their home - often in miniature form! Their houses are often made from plants, trees, fungi, and small items like kettles, shoes, and more.

SONATA OASIS: Located where the once thriving Gerudo Village was, it is now a settlement that is inclusive of all races who wish to live there. Tropical fruits and sand seal taming, along with rich fabrics and luxury goods attract all sorts of travelers to this place.

NEW SKYLOFT: A city, built over the ruins of Old Skyloft, which consists of Rito and some other races who have made it to the skies one way or another. Many who live here are quite seclusive and refuse to set foot on the land below due to the fear of monsters.

FAIRY GLADE: This is home to the fairies and their ruler. It is often glistening with the lights of hundreds of sprites, although many fairies will scatter across the land.

Here on Z-RP we have standard application templates. If you ever have trouble filling out these templates, feel free to contact NOVA to help you with the process.
[break][break] There are a few key elements on the application that this guide touches up on. Alignment refers to Character Alignment, I.E. Good, Neutral, Chaotic. The remainder of the application is very simple. Personality traits give us an insight on your character's behavior and history is self explanatory.

Weapons and Magic are simple as well. You get one magic spell per triforce shard (and you only start with ONE, so that is already answered for you.), we ask that you give a detailed explanation of your spell/weapon, explaining any effect it may have. If you are ever unsure about magic and item creation, contact staff.

The 'Consent' portion of the sheet has a list of minimum consent points that need to be answered. Simply say YES or NO to being comfortable with that kind of RP. If you need a more detailed explanation, please contact staff in the discord.
