A KING OF FOOLS
They rode further from the scene, Perseus holding tightly onto his beloved as they made their way down the rocky path. "We will have something arranged for you when we arrive, my love," he had responded to her worries of what to wear.
Surely, they'd be married as soon as they could when they returned home, but perhaps they'd have time to ready themselves. He had assumed that Artemis would be following behind, perhaps leaving a message for their family, at least their youngest sister Esme, to allow for her to come as well.
It was all up to Kura - if she would have him the moment they returned, he'd do so. But if she wanted a proper celebration, she would not leave his sight until they were married.
~
Once arrived to Labrynna, Perseus situated his horse at the stables and helped Kura bring herself to the ground. Guiding her to the castle, he pushed aside those who began to ask questions - how she was alive, if this was real, and what was going on and to why he was back so soon.
"There's no time to explain, but please make preparations for the Royal Wedding. It must be done immediately," he demanded. He turned to his bride quickly, hands cupping her cheeks carefully. "Do you want to be married as soon as they finish, or do you want to allow time for your family to arrive?"

That I've lost more than you'll ever see
Before he could react, his beloved's arms were wrapped around him, holding him tightly as she softly spoke against his ear. He felt his body going weak, and he thought he might fall to his knees, but the scent of battle brought him back as he turned to look and make sure no one was heading straight for them.
He looked back at her, taking her words carefully before pursing his lips. They were clearly outnumbered, and he wouldn't let anymore of his men die. He nodded carefully, before throwing his hand into the air, sword skyward before whipping around so that Kura was facing his back.
"FALL BACK! HEAD BACK OVER THE BORDER!" he yelled loudly. Soon, his men repeated the same, defending themselves and moving closer to the Valley of the ridge.
He turned back to Kura, grabbing her hand before sprinting toward the horses. Once they reached them, he lifted her upon his steed and hopped on behind her, before riding west to the mountains."I don't want to wait another moment. Please marry me as soon as we reach the city gates."

You know me all too well
And I can't suppress the memories

It was strange seeing his sister met with so much passion for the King. He had only found out about their engagement just before her death, so it was still hard to familiarize with, especially since he was not necessarily one for romantic partners himself (or rather, he's too mean to even get a girl to like him).
He sighed, knowing that she was going to stubbornly stay by his side until they found him. "Last I saw him, he was this way. Unfortunately there was never a plan for this. Eleazar's forces came out of nowhere. I simply came here to try and prevent Perseus with his death wish, but Eleazar's forces met us just as we intercepted him. I believe we may have a spy in our faction--WATCH OUT!"
With haste, Artemis whirled himself in front of Kura, blade meeting blade as he met another enemy with a raging stare. "If you want to cut my sister so badly, allow me to return the favor," he snarled, punting his leg up into the man's torso to push him back. His blade then met his chest, and as he slid the body from the blade, he turned to his sister. "Stay alive. You know how to use your sword, yes? You're going to need it. Perseus is this way."
He began filing through the crowds of fighting men, keeping Kura close as he fended off any rogue attackers. The long, silver hair came into view in the distance as he made note of the King's location. He pointed. "We don't know where Eleazar is. I assume he's trying to find him."
Perseus was keeping the forces from overpowering his own men. Skilled with his blade, he twirled around as though he were dancing with the wind at his advantage. He began stepping back toward his men to make sure that they were not being overwhelmed.
"Steady with your aim, our archers will be deploying their first set of arrows soon. Keep a watchful eye!" he commanded to them before turning his head into the crowd.
He stopped.
In the thick of battle, a whisp of auburn hair caught his attention, and his eyes grew wide. He froze in place, as though time slowed, and the battle continued without him, and he had gone invisible. Was that Kura? It couldn't possibly be, she was dead! He saw with his own eyes!
"M'lady," he quivered. It's all he could say. It's all he could get out.
Under the chill of the mist that spread over Hyrule field, Perseus fumbled to grab for the portable cannons. He attempts to search for the horses that pulled them, and yet with all the commotion, he is unable to. There are just too many people--the Heroes, his own men, and now Eleazar's.
"Artemis! Go home!" he groaned as the pale prince passed by him. But before he could continue his complaints, Artemis shot down two more enemies who were attempting to swing at the King.
He then turned around, seeing his dear sister before him. His eyes went small and his face ghostly. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "It's too dangerous! Don't you remember what happened last time?"
His sword clashed with another enemy from behind. Swinging the blade around, he managed to lose the enemy's grip of his own blade, causing it to fall on the floor. "LEAVE."
He turned back around as the lackey ran off into the distance. "Perseus is a lost cause, Kura. His mind is filled with revenge. Seeing you now could hinder his ability in battle."
Perhaps he was right, or maybe he was wrong. Perseus was ambitious in his cause, and that only made him stronger. Men screamed in pain clutching their grievous wounds as bows twang sending snakes of deaths into the never ending army. The sun beat down on them furiously as the heat wave continued unaffected at such chaos. Catapults and trebeuchets fired from both sides furiously trying to gain the advantage.
The battle was quicker than expected - what he had hoped would be upon the doors of Castle Town was bordering his own country - too close to home. What more could he want from his kingdom? He already took siege of the largest shipping metropolis of Labrynna.
He scanned over the area, looking for blue hair in every direction he could, but none belonged to the false king. Was he even here?
"Sire! Look out!"
In a swift motion, the king stepped to the side, narrowly escaping the blade of a lackey. Drawing his sword, he clashed with the man, pushing his weight onto him and causing him to lose his balance.
Slice. Dead.
He took a deep breath, closing his eyes quickly and regaining his collection of the battle at hand. He scanned over the enemies once more as they charged full force at his men.
"If we die today, we died with honor," he murmured to his right hand. "Attack!"
Hundreds of men charged back at Eleazar's forces, swords at hand.
Meanwhile, Artemis and his men were preparing to engage as well. Once more, someone must have intercepted their letters and found where they would meet up. Someone in the heroes was treasonous.
That's all Artemis could think, anyways. As he fled from his tent, he searched the crowd for the King, making his way toward him as quickly as possible.

The horses ran the field with haste. Perseus was ready to go toe to toe with the great King Eleazar--At least, that was the plan. His armies were stopped halfway to the castle upon the border of Hyrule Field by the Heroes of Hyrule.
"What is the meaning of this!?" Perseus had exclaimed, unsure of their motives. At first, he wondered if it was because of their ongoing plague, however that wasn't the case. The commander of the Heroes' army came down from his horse and approached. Perseus did the same.
"Perseus - you're going too far. With everything going on, you are putting your men in more danger than you realize!" Artemis - the ace of the Heroes of Hyrule responded.
The pause between them caused most of the men on both sides to grow silent.
"How are you not angry?" Perseus frowned."After what that monster did to Kura... your own sister."
"Percy--there's something we should show you--"
"Save it, Artemis. You may be in control while Zelda is missing, but I'm still a rank above you. Stand down and let me pass."
He motioned for his men to come forward, and the armies proceeded... however it wasn't long before Eleazar's army was in view. They halted.

[attr="class","jartoxpost"] Changed into his clothes, the young king huffed loudly as he slumped oto the bed. The princess had followed the doctor to the door, closing it behind him cautiously before he slowly allowed his weight to shift further into the mattress, laying down carefully. He closed his eyes, trying to discount the pain from his mind. [break][break] fingers laced with his hands, and his eyes opened narrowly to glance at the worried princess's gaze. A smile painted over the apprehension and he tried to return the favor, but the pain was exhaustive. His eyes shut once more, resting to try and find words so she wouldn't be left in silence. [break][break] She spoke of the wedding, and his eyes opened up again. "Hmm?" His mind lingered on each of the questions carefully; what would their wedding be like? In his haste to be hers forever, and the impending fear of what would be of the future, he didn't think of such things. He only knew he wanted it as soon as possible. [break][break] Did Zelda even know? Did Artemis? Had she told her family of this at all? He lingered on the depth of what would be of a wedding in such short notice. He would have wanted for them to be wed as soon as he was healed. But with the meeting back at the Castle approaching... [break][break] "I will leave the details to you, my lady. It is your family whom I assume would be invited on your side. I have no family of my own, though I'm sure Labrynna would wish to witness the event in the palace... what do you think?" [break][break] Personally, the idea of the entire country watching him kiss his queen was stressful. With no real family there to observe the event, was it necessary for the whole kingdom to proside? He would leave that to her. If she wanted it big, he'd give the space of their ceremony no bounds.

[attr="class","jartoxpost"] He could barely breathe. [break][break] Whether it be because of the fact that the wrappings upon his abdomen were a bit too binding, or because this meeting was actually happening... but without Zelda. While the young King had full trust in Artemis's ability to speak for the faction for his sister, her absence brought upon a somber ambiance to those who arrived. Many were not even aware fully of what exactly happened - only that she had managed to save the Legendary Hero, but now she had fallen into comatose. [break][break] No doctors or priests could figure out just what was wrong with her though; her sleep was simply holding her in a standstill - as though powerful magic was binding her to her rest, as though her mind and body relied on this interrupted sleep for survival. . . [break][break] Just what did Queen Zelda do to save her hero? [break][break] There was no time think about that though. As many council members waited for others to arrive, chatter rung in the atrium of mossy marble walls. Hands cusped just beneath his chin to allow his weight to rest, he kept to himself and withdrew from the conversations around him until the others were to arrive. Artemis to be seated to his left, Asthar to his right. Along the table would then be littered with leaders of each of the races, or city representatives--even the sheikah council! Those who all still held faith to the True Crown of Hyrule.

[attr="class","jartoxpost"] He knew the risks of what would follow, should any mistakes be made or if they waited too long - but at this point, they had no choice than to pick away at the dead skin and hope it would help. Without any pain numbing medications or potions, this was going to prove to be one of the bigger hardships that Percy would deal with in his entire life. [break][break] Goddesses help him. He was afraid of the idea of the pain, rather than the actuality of it. He had no idea what to expect, but he knew it wasn't going to be enjoyable. As Kura had returned with a basin of water, he took one of the rags from it hastily, running it over his persperated cheeks that were flushed to all hell. The doctor was digging into his utility bag, and he took a deep breath, Kura's hands gently running over his flesh and hair, calming him for a moment. [break][break] As the doctor lifted his hand from the bag, holding a metal scalpel pointed for the would directly, Perseus immediately chomped down on the washcloth, both hands gripped to each end of it. He didn't want to hold Kura's hand, or any part of her, afraid that he may hurt her if the pain is too much to bear. [break][break] With the first cut against his skin, Perseus nearly flew back toward the bed behind him, groaning loudly as he tried to contain his agony and sit in place, while the doctor pushed harder into his torso to keep him still. He cut further, slicing some of the blackened flesh off before wiping the blood that spilled from his side quickly before continuing his work. [break][break] Perseus was groaning loudly, his teeth nearly biting the rag in half as he let out rough whimpers with every movement of the blade. Tears fell down his cheekbones as he let out one final cry in protest, but the doctor had quickly flung his blade back, wiping at the would quickly before grabbing some stitching. "It's done. It's all gone. We need to clean it, sew it up, and then bandage it." [break][break] Immediately, the doctor got to work, sterilizing the wound and bandaging it up carefully after stitching. Cleaning the blood and removing the clothes from the weakened King, he had brought a fresh pair of robes to change into before turning to the princess - realizing it may be inappropriate for her to witness such humility. "Shall I take him to the infirmary, or..." [break][break] "I'm staying here," he snapped, his voice becoming slurred in exhaustion. "Please leave us," he huffed out, before attempting to drag himself toward the bed slowly. The doctor looked at him nervously before jolting to help him forward. "Please keep an eye on him then if this is where he is staying. Don't let him move around. He should be left to rest for at least a week."

[attr="class","jartoxpost"] Boy, was he tired. And his eyelids were becoming heavier and heavier with every second passed. But Kura was quick to try and find a solution for his wound, giving up on the idea of bringing him to the medic before ripping at the tunic that covered his torso. Helping shake the baggy, ripping clothes from his upper body, he let out a grunt in pain from the exposed wound hitting the cold air surrounding them, as his hand immediately pressed into his side to protect the open cut. [break][break] "Damn it, Hylia - I'm going to kill that psycho for toying with us like animals..." he growled through his clenched teeth, looking up to his princess who was already running to the door. She pleaded him to stay put, and he nodded as she disappeared from his vision. As time passed, he found it harder to sit up straight, slowly dragging himself to the edge of her bed as he pressed his weight into the foot-board. [break][break] When Kura had returned, a doctor had followed, and he had immediately hovered over the broken King to see what damage had been done. His eyes were uneasy, almost as though he was worried for the look on how fresh this wound was, and Percy immediately sprung to look down at it. "How bad is it? Just tell me!" [break][break] The medic began to stutter, unsure of how to answer at first, as his hands slowly peeled away at the broken skin. "It's--I mean..." he bumbled out before looking to the princess carefully. "It's been exposed for a long time. It might be infected. We need to cut out the dead flesh immediately, but I don't think we have..." he looked back down, looking through his pockets at the various vials of liquid that were labeled with tiny letters. "It's going to hurt. That's all I can say. We used up the last of the pain elixirs on the others that you returned with." [break][break] Silence fell over them for a moment, and Perseus knew what that meant. Either he was going to die a slow and painful death, or he would live, but have to feel every single cut into his flesh again. He took a deep breath, his nerves unsettling once more as his mouth became dry. "R-right now then?" As the doctor gave a morbid, Perseus shuddered under his breath before taking his hand up to his forehead, wiping the sweat. "Someone please get me a rag to bite on..."

His breathing had dropped from its heavy gasps to a light murmur, before his arms wrapped around the princess once more, and his chin became rested to her shoulder. His nose had buried into her auburn hair, her scent giving him comfort. [break][break] She had accepted his request, and he didn't know why he was as surprised as he was. He was sure she'd deny it and say it were too soon. He let out a small laugh, a mere squeak from his weakened voice as his fingers traced the small of her back. Despite all the fear and stress that weighed down on him, he felt as though it had all disappeared in that moment. Even the pain had stifled. [break][break] "I'm not going anywhere," he promised. "I-I want to stay, but I need to see the doctor still..." [break][break] He looked about the room for a moment, possibly for a rag, or some kind of bandaging material. He was feeling more light headed with every hour that passed, and with his bandage removed, the blood began to seep through his robes and into Kura's gown. He pursed his lips for a moment before pulling back to watch his lover carefully. [break][break] "I don't know where the doctor is located, so please come with me?"

[attr="class","jartoxpost"] [music]http://k003.kiwi6.com/hotlink/bkr8hq5hm0/Fractures_It_s_Alright.mp3[/music] [break]“Unconscious..?” Perseus mused over her words for a moment as he took a moment to try and understand. Majora had not gone into detail of what had taken place as she met her “goal”, but with the hero being shown before them… it was obvious that she achieved something. But if she was incapacitated in the process, was it worth it? “Is she unconscious and stable? Or in a coma?” he couldn’t help but ask. Whatever this was, and whatever she did, it must have taken more than just physical power. [break][break] “I’m sorry--I shouldn’t ask if you don’t know. I just… something bad is going to happen. I can feel it.” She spoke of this always being life or death, and he knew this to be true, but now... it just seemed different. Before, there was a glimmer of hope--so much so that he and Asthar took the chance to try and stop his madness! But after everything he’s seen now, he’s not so sure. He retracted a bit, pulling from her as he looked down with closed eyes. [break][break] “I… I believe that if he is back,” he started, but paused for a moment as he winced in pain. “If the hero has returned to us, he has a heavy burden. Seith was but a lesser god. One that perhaps even with trials fallen short he could have defeated if he had trained just a bit longer. But this...” [break][break] He didn’t know how to put it into words. Even the myths of the world’s creation fell short in Labrynna. It was something that was rarely looked into, since his people heavily believed in the worship of the world around them, rather than the beings that once were. The name of Majora was not one so easily forgotten though--the story of Hylia and Majora was one of the key stories of their creations. [break][break] “We’re dealing with the very goddess of Chaos, Kura. Hylia’s Sister has been revived. The goddess of masks, Majora--and she’s given Eleazar a taste of her power.” [break][break] He winced again, grunting as he leaned forward, his arm pressed tightly against his side as he let out a short breath. [break][break] "Percy,-- the world isn't safe anymore. Do you really think he will just stop at Hyrule? What's to say they will not try to reprimand the whole isle? Labrynna, Holodrum... Hyrule. I don't think anything can sate his greed. But he is back... The Hero, and I am not going to abandon my people, and my sister, when they need me the most." [break][break] He wanted to beg her to go with her, but he knew she wouldn’t. The desperation in his eyes lingered as he looked back up to her, but ultimately became defeated with a nod. He had to think carefully in his response. She was right; he would not abandon his duty… but he would sure as hell be terrified of it until the very end. [break][break] “I don’t want to wait. I can’t wait until this is over, because who knows when it will be!” he huffed, his hands moving to her cheeks as they gently traced her flesh. “I don’t care if it has to be a secret. Or if it isn’t traditional, or big and flashy--I just want you.” [break][break] He probably sounded crazy. He knew he sounded crazy. And there was still a chance that she could say no, or that he’d freak her out, and that he’d scare her off forever. But he didn’t want to waste a single moment with her, swallowing hard and looking into her eyes carefully. [break][break] “Please, my love. Please marry me as soon as possible.”

He held onto her for his dear life, arms draped over her like bandages that were glued. Her voice soothed him, but his weight shifted to her support as he rested his head on her shoulder. He wretched in agony, letting out a gasp in anguish as she began to remove his clothing - the air hitting his wound causing it to sting and he began to sob behind a stifled tongue. [break][break] She removed herself from him in a panic and began screaming for help as she flung out the door. He turned quickly, frantic eyes reaching for her as he shook his head in retaliation. "Please--don't bring them here yet!" he pleaded with her. "I'll see the doctor I promise--I just--please just sit with me for now," he bargained desperately. [break][break] She returned to him and began vigorously removing his shirt, sliding it down his arms as his bare chest was revealed. Bruising and discoloration was evident - not only from the battle that took place, but the toll his ancestors' magic took on his anatomy. He looked down shamefully at the wounds displayed over him - like a canvas with ink splatters. He couldn't control the tears, but his breathing subdued in to sniffles. [break][break] "...Is it true," he finally cracked. "Did Zelda bring back The Hero?" His mind flashed back to the Goddess of Masks revealing his cowardly frame to the group, and how Eleazar had handled the news of his return. He hoped that perhaps it was an illusion; a ploy to make everyone more terrified of the future to come. But at the same time, perhaps it was the only way. They were up against something far larger than a simple tyrant now. [break][break] "This... this is so much bigger than we previously thought, Kura," he admitted fearfully. His eyes became small as they searched her gaze."We can't mess this up, because it is actually life or death now. Eleazar will kill us, and he has the power to do it whenever he pleases." [break][break] He didn't want to scare her. He never intended on scaring her; but he was absolutely horrified of something happening to her, and there was no way to mull this to sound any better. His lips quivered still, as his hands took hers tightly and he looked at her desperately. "Please come back with me to Labrynna, this isn't safe anymore. Hyrule isn't safe for any of us anymore."

[attr="class","jartoxpost"] Perseus had never hurried faster than he did getting back to the Hylian Ruins. While the carriage had taken its time to arrive, Perseus had made the decision to go ahead on horseback to make sure that it was safe to continue their journey. All he could think--or rather; all he could hope was that he’d either catch up to Kura, Artemis, and the others, or they were already safe at the camp. [break][break] The rain crashed against the muddy dirt through the trees as he made his way through the Lost Woods on the dawn of his second day of travel, and he knew he would be riding until sundown. The sleep deprivation, his lack of care for the wound in his waist, and the lack of energy as result of his beast form had left him fighting consciousness. He refused to sleep until he arrived and knew that everyone was safe. [break][break] He was patient, he refused to eat, and he never stopped - and by doing so he would hopefully arrive sooner to the arrival time of the others. As luck would happen, as the sun began to set and the sky turned clear and red, Percy had made entrance to the camps just as the Royal Family had been settling in. [break][break] Guards bowed in respect of the King’s entrance to the territory. As he arrived to the stables, he quickly dismounted his horse and left it in the care of the guards. Two sets of men approached him quickly, crowding around him as he dragged himself toward the Castle Ruins, wincing as he held onto his side, but pressed to continue his footing. [break][break] “Your Grace--you need medical attention immediately!” [break][break] “Zelda has not woken up, she needs to rest, you cannot wake her!” [break][break] “Please stand back!” Percy snapped, waving his hand to brush at the guards as they flanked away from its path. He could understand their widespread panic as he arrived however; his clothing had been badly torn and covered in blood and dirt, while his exposed chest revealed makeshift bandaging along his lower abdomen. His hair was dishevled - streaks of brown caught in his rosegold locks from the moisture and dirt. Silence dragged out upon the group as he closed his eyes and sighed. [break][break] “Where is Princess Kura?” he asked calmly. [break][break] “The royal family has requested that no visitors will see them until they have rested--” [break][break] “I demand to see my bride to be!” the young King growled as his eyes became fierce. “I will not take no for an answer until I can see her myself!” [break][break] The guard became quiet as fear washed over his eyes, nodding quickly in a scramble to turn and bring him into the castle. “Y-yes my lord.” [break][break] The two stumbled inside and Percy could feel his heart clawing through his chest with every pump of blood. The anxiety ate away at him, and he would worry until the very moment he could see she was safe. He walked the halls with his best intentions of hiding the limp, but one foot dragged along the stone floors just a bit longer than the other. [break][break] The arrived to a door that was tightly closed, made of wood with ornate leaves carved into the sides. With two iron handles that met in the center, the guard stood for a moment, watching to see Percy’s next movements. The King became impatient, motioning away from the door with a scowl. “I don’t need you to stand outside the door. Give us some privacy, please.” [break][break] With another shaken nod, the guard swiftly moved back into the main hall, and Percy watched the handlebar carefully, his hand taking hold of it. With the other hand, he knocked gently, waiting to hear her voice as his clenched fist against the door began to tremble. Answer faster, I can’t wait this long--fuck it. [break][break] Without even waiting for a response, Perseus quickly opened the door and flung himself inside, closing it behind him and looking to Kura with a desperate and fearful expression. [break][break] There was a moment of shock from boths ends, as he simply gazed at her for a moment, before a small sneer curled over his lips, and he looked down sheepishly. “I’m sorry, I just…” he chuckled anxiously. “I was worried something might have happened so I got here as quickly as I could.” [break][break] The snickers slowly altered to snivels though, as his voice became wavy and stifled and he slowly fell to his knees. His exhaustion had finally caught up with him, and he was beginning to slip away from his complete sanity. “I thought I was going to die--I thought you were going to--I’m sorry, I should have stayed with you,” he huffed out as he looked back up at her.

He looked away from her eyes, giving her a moment to collect herself. Before he expected an answer though, her lips were suddenly against his. He was taken back from her initiating it, but he went with it. She felt the gentlest tug. Her head tipped back and his lips touched hers. It was a whisper of a touch, so tentative, the sensation so light, he was almost sure she’d felt it at all. He sucked in a breath and pulled back, just the slightest bit. His wild eyes searched hers. [break][break] Heat bloomed in his cheeks. A semblance of sense started to creep back into his head. Then it flew right out into the open air. When they had parted, he smiled in silence, the redness slowly fading from his cheeks, as she went to speak. He took a moment, breathing in, and looking out toward the mountainous terrain once more. [break][break] “We should probably head back up to the palace, I’m sure your guards will be worried I’ve taken you away somewhere,” he chuckled. His hands took hers, pulling her toward the opening of the cavern, snickering slightly at what her response may be - there was a perfectly stable wooden bridge that climbed the side of the mountain toward the palace - which meant that their little jump down into the cave was just to be a tease. [break][break] Once they had arrived back to the palace, upon entrance of the great hall, he looked over the grand clock that hung over the massive doorway. “The longest day of the year, and it still ends sooner than I would like,” he chuckled. “I suppose I should allow you to get some rest. You may stay for as long as you would like, but if you plan on heading back to Hyrule, please let me know. I have some things I need to take care of there, so I could escort you back to camp.” [break][break] He lifted her hand to his chest, before dipping down gently to place a kiss upon it. Slowly releasing her hand, he smirked lightly, backing away slowly toward the stairwell. “And don’t tell Zelda. Not yet. I want to figure out how to tell her in a way where she won’t kill me.”
